We loved our stay here last year, so much that we booked for this October before we checked out! I am on a gluten free diet and assumed I would have to go out and find breakfast on my own but Alison actually made me the same delicious breakfast as everyone else each morning but with GLUTEN FREE bread! The breakfasts were delicious! We really enjoyed our stay and the area is so wonderful. We can't wait to go back in October for the Fall foliage.

Tucker Hill Inn is a lovely place to stay. Alison and Phill are very friendly, welcoming hosts. We made a very last minute reservation and they were most accommodating. The rooms are quaint, the setting beautiful and the breakfast was tasty and generous. We will most definitely be returning!

This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and our first time in Vermont. From the moment we stepped inside we knew we made the right choice. The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful, they helped us with dining in the area as well as other places to see. the room was beautiful and cozy and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was wonderful. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to visit Vermont! We will definitely be going back again!!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Tucker Hill Inn. This was our first trip ever to VT but one we have looked forward to for years. The Tucker Hill Inn was just beyond wonderful. The location, the charm of the Inn, the wonderful hospitality that Alison and Phill shared with us was everything we had hoped for and more. We will return.

The Inn is indeed “charming and immaculate”, as ABC News put it. The B&B is infused with Alison and Phill Truckle’s loving care, helpfulness, good humor and attention to detail, which have made the Tucker Inn our “home away from home” in Vermont. My wife and I just completed our third week-long stay. The location is beautiful, in the heart of “postcard Vermont”, and is only an hour’s drive from Burlington International Airport. It is also a few minutes’ drive from Sugarbush, a great winter sports resort as well as a superb gliding center in the Summer and Fall.

I loved the Tucker Inn. It is set back from the road, quiet and very nice. Breakfast the three days we were there was wonderful.

Phill and Alison are marvelous innkeepers, anticipating needs and always ready to give good ideas on what to do and where to go. We escaped CT in time to avoid the storm of the century there and Tucker Hill offered us the perfect refuge. Comfy room, peaceful, and even a great laptop computer holder in the room. Breakfasts were delicious and filling and every dinner place they recommended was superb. Highly recommend this inn!

Phill and Alison went out of their way to make our stay exceed our expectations! We were given an upgrade on our room and were given excellent suggestions of where to hike, eat and take in all of what Vermont has to offer. We can hardly wait to come back in the winter! Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed five nights for skiing in the area and would return in a heartbeat. From the moment we contacted Alison and Phill, we had guidance about the various options to design our stay and split our time between Sugarbush (Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen) and Mad River Glen that suited our interests and timing best. When we arrived and found ourselves facing a -24 degree Monday and a decision not to ski that day, Alison volunteered to try to change our lift ticket package (which Sugarbush accommodated) and then told us about another option at Mad River Glen of which we had not been aware that worked out perfectly for us. The Inn itself is charming, the room more than comfortable (we received an unexpected upgrade because we were the only ones for a few days and the room we were moved to had separate heating). We peaked at the room we would have had and were sure we would have been just as comfortable and happy with it, as well. Breakfasts were as described positively by other reviewers. And, when we expressed preferences at the beginning of the week, they remembered and made the adjustments without asking us again. We also were extremely pleased with the location. Close to a number of restaurants (allo of whose menus were neatly in a binder in the lounge for easy reviewing) and literally five minutes (we timed it) to Mt. Ellen, maybe seven minutes to Mad River Glen and eight minutes to Lincoln Peak. We never stayed at an inn or B&B so close to the mountain at which we skied -- and we wouldn't change a thing about the inn or our stay.

We needed a quick stay to attend a function at Sugarbush and Tucker Hill was perfect. Alison is very friendly and attends to your needs promptly. Just know in the winter you need good winter tires for unexpected snowfall on the mountain. Room was very cozy and clean, and it was great to be able to lower the radiator heat on our own. Older place but didn't find it noisy. We would go back again and spend more time!

My wife and I visited here for our 25th wedding anniversary. What a wonderful, romanitic place. Greatest inn keepers one could ever ask for.

I had a wonderful time at the Inn, it was so quaint, I just loved it! This was my first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast and I did not really know what to expect except a place to sleep and some breakfast. What we got was so much more. The basic reason for our visit was to see some fall foliage and Alison gave us some fantastic tips on where to go nearby for the best views. Our favorite was No. Nine Road, it had the BEST panoramic view. The Snow covered ski slopes in the background with the colorful trees beneath- just breathtaking! It was so nice to have a nice place to come back too, our nice cozy room, the bed was so comfortable! Breakfast was the best! We ate in the morning room, covered on 3 sides by windows, it was picture perfect. Also, Phil took some awesome pictures and lucky me even got to take one home! Alison and Phil were a pure joy! The hospitality and friendliness were wonderful! I would go back again in a heartbeat!

What a great find the Tucker Hill Inn, and the town of Waitsfield was. I was looking for a quiet spot that was centrally located in Vermont, among the mountains, and I found it. Finally, a place that is exactly like the description on the website; postcard perfect, great food and very friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Don't plan too much in the area, you may want to just sit around this Inn for the day and smell the pines and eat Phil's great cooking!

We usually stay in 4 & 5-star hotels. This B&B was easily as good as any of those Hotels. Everything was very clean and comfy. Breakfast was delicious, creative and more than ample. Free Internet was essential because cell ph connection in this part of Vt is very limited. But more than anything, our hosts went out of their way to be sure that we had everything we needed and they even kept us informed of local events which we would not have known about. I would definitely recommend the Tucker Hill Inn.

My wife Ellen and I have been visiting Tucker Hill for decades. We have enjoyed its wonderfully warm hospitality and its splendid tranquil garden setting. We are delighted that current innkeepers Phill and Alison have put their own distinctive personable touch on the place, making it even more friendly, more green, and even more comfortable. Tucker Hill is handy to every possible attraction in the Mad River Valley, and Alison's breakfasts are simply wonderful to savor as we watch the abundant humming birds come and go. We have experienced nearly every B&B in the Valley over the years, and we think Tucker Hill is the best of the bunch for value and comfort. The innkeepers could not be more helpful and attentive to every detail. Peter Doyle, Sherborn, MA

Thanks to the warm hospitality and personalized service from the gracious innkeepers , I truly felt at home from the time I arrived. I had traveled there in 'mud' season last April for 4 nights, and my rear drive clunky rental car could not make it up the hill. My hosts were gracious in letting me park closer, in their private drive , for starters. They then delivered a great tray of snacks and beverages to help me settle in. The room was warm not only in terms of plentiful heat and a fireplace, but also featured many thoughtful amenities that made my stay very enjoyable . The room was kept impeccably clean, and the breakfast was menu was varied delicious and plentiful. I will definitely be back !

Upon our arrival the beautiful gardens drew us toward the comfortable patio and into the main lobby. Once inside we were greeted by the freindly and informative owners. The room decor was very cozy and extremely clean! The sparkiling pool was in an area where the sun was abundant and nature surrounded our senses. After drencing in sunshine it was time to drence our thirst in the downstairs pub that had an outdoor patio overlooking the tennis courts and forest. Every aspect of this B&B was outstanding and we look forward to returning every summer!

When my sister and I made reservations to stay at the Tucker Hill Inn, we were just looking for a clean 2 nite stay while we went horseback riding on Icelandic horses. We were surprised and delighted by so many unanticipated "extras": a quaint but modern bed and breakfast, with a cheery bedroom/bathroom and a very "homey" downstairs living room. Modern with an up-to-date computer/internet connection, and a fun lending library. The breakfasts were "to die for": everything homemade and/or local; and blueberry pancakes or omletes "made-to-order". Several different kinds of coffees and teas were available 24/7, and the breakfast nook was a great start to the day. But the most impressive part of our stay were our hosts: Alison and Phill couldn't do enough for us: a featherless pillow; a recommendation for dinner that was scrumptious; and information about local lore and spots of interests. We really had a wonderful time at Tucker Hill Inn, and would love to return.

We have been staying at the Inn for almost five years, at least three times a year. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfasts are the best we have ever had. As for the Innkeepers, Phil & Alison, they are truly the nicest people and make us feel so right at home. We enjoy our stays here and will continue to frequent the Inn.

We stayed at Tucker Hill Inn in Vermont for three nights in early October this year. After much research, we chose this B&B and are we glad we did. Even though it was either rainy or dreary the whole time we were there, Alison and Phil boosted our spirits with their charming personalities and the sharing of their lovely B&B. The breakfasts were fabulous, our conversations were always interesting, and the various nooks and crannies of the Inn provided us with quiet places for reading or getting on the internet. Our hosts were full of ideas for fall foliage drives, general stores, and lots of eateries. Although we live in Illinois, we will return to Vermont and to the Tucker Hill Inn.

Two years ago I stayed over at Tucker Hill Inn, unplanned, in the middle of a long road trip through Vermont. I was so impressed, that this year I stayed there during my son's four-day sports camp (rather than doing all that driving again). I really needed the getaway because of stresses and work and home...the wonderful thing is I got what I came for! I loved the down-home comfort and casual feeling of the rooms, the bountiful board at breakfast where I could grab something quick or choose to have the entree (the walnut French toast with bananas was my narrow favorite as the omelet was terrific too!). What was truly remarkable was the relationships that developed at the inn. Alison and Phill Truckle's warmth was reflected in the great affection the guests displayed, not only to them, but to each other. As an artist/writer/creative I am most sensitive to these energies. Most of my time was spent painting and exploring nature but I will always remember the adorable honeymoon couple and how they bought flowers for Alison, the ladies high school reunion group and how they laughed, and the busy executive who set up office in a sunny nook...what a great place to work! Alison and Phill were knowledgeable about activites, natural features like waterfalls and the mountains, shopping, and restaurants. I especially enjoyed American Flatbreads (at Lareau Farm) for both the food, the art exhibit (it was during Vermont Festival of the Arts), the beautiful grounds and the "entertainment." I will definitely go back...maybe again one August for the festival, but am also considering a family Christmas ski trip...and when one of my son's marries...wouldn't that be a cool summer wedding? Thank you, Alison and Phill!

We stayed in the Vail Room for five days in mid-June with its private balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and pool area. VERY comfy bed and lovely sitting area. Pool is very private and perfect for cooling off or just relaxing around with a book but there are loads of small private patios and decks around the Inn to enjoy too as well as walking trails and tennis courts. Phill and Alison are wonderful hosts - knowledgeable about the area and fun to talk to and they can certainly cook. We had the best omelettes ever while at Tucker Hill and the best English scones. Highly recommended.
