Wonderful Visit to Williamsburg

5 sur mai 12, 2017

My husband and I stayed at Cedars of Williamsburg in late April as part of a driving trip from Pennsylvania to our home in Florida. We stayed in the George Washington Suite, which is a spacious room that also has a separate sitting room. This room is located on the first floor and is the closest room to the front door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The new owner Alex acted as host at breakfast and he made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Our breakfasts were very good, well prepared and presented. We highly recommend Cedars of Williamsburg. Be aware that the bathrooms tend to be small, typical for a home of its time period.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review our B&B. The George Washington Suite is certainly a highlight room of the Cedars (if only the bathroom could be enlarged!). I'm happy to hear that your stay was comfortable and that we were able to take good care of you. I say it often, but breakfast time is such a highlight of my day because the world comes and visits me. I love having great conversations with great guests and I'm happy we were able to have that during your visit. Thanks again for reviewing our home and we hope to see you again real soon.

A beautiful B&B

Our stay at Cedars was a pleasure. Alex was a gracious host and provided useful information about the area and local restaurants.

Thank you for taking the time to review our inn! I'm happy to hear that I was able to assist you in getting the most out of your stay here in Williamsburg. I think one of the main reasons one should visit a B&B is for that local knowledge. I love to see guests having a great experience and I hope to see y'all again. All the best.

Another great stay at Cedars of Williamsburg B&B

5 sur avril 17, 2017

Just back from our 2nd stay at Cedars. Alex is a fantastic host. He and his staff make everyone feel so comfortable. It truly is like being a guest in his home. Breakfast is something to look forward too each morning. On Easter Sunday, Alex cooked a delicious ham accompanied with poached eggs in a "nest". Beautiful! The location is great, right across the street from the W&M campus and an easy walk to the historic district. Our granddaughter is finishing her first year at W&M and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else each time we visit for the next 3 years.

Wow! It is such a thrill to make guests' stays memorable and inviting. It really is what we live for as innkeepers. I'm glad we met and even exceeded your expectations. I'm especially pleased that you found the breakfasts so good as we've been working diligently to create better meals. It feels great to see hard work paying off. We're looking forward to fostering and growing our relationship with you as parents and we'll be here for you and your daughter through the coming years of academic growth. All the best and we'll see you all again real soon.

Pleasant stay in a great location

4,4 sur mars 18, 2017

We stayed one night on the (small and inexpensive) Martha Washington room, while in Williamsburg for an exhibit at the art museum. The Cedars is directly across the street from the museum and the university. It is an easy walk to the old town with dining and shops. Breakfast was very tasty, but not overwhelming like it can be at B & Bs. For a longer stay, I'd recommend a larger room. Otherwise a big thumbs up.

Réponse du propriétaire
Thank you for taking the time to review The Cedars! Our location really is ideal for any trip to campus or colonial Williamsburg and I'm happy you were able to make the easy trek. I'm also so happy that you enjoyed your breakfast! We've been working hard to make them both tasty, large, but not ostentatious and it sounds like we hit the mark with you! Thanks. Finally, some guests have spent a week in the Martha Washington and love its cozy size. Others spend a day and say, "That's good for one night." We love both types of guest! Glad it suited your purposes for the day. For your next visit, check out our John Rolfe room which features the largest bathroom in the house. Thanks again!

Lovely trip to Williamsburg

Great place. New owners who are really trying to meet guests needs. Great.location.

Thank you for your kind words and I do apologize for my late response. As you noted in your review we are new owners and we are hoping to build on a long legacy of giving guests a comfortable and relaxing stay with a top-tier breakfast. I'm glad to see that we've met that expectation for you on your visit. Hard work leads to a profit (and you benefit!). Once again, thank you for taking the time to review our B&B and we hope we can serve you again really soon.

Quaint rooms, great location and phenomenal service! Breakfast was personal and top notch!

Thanks so much for the review! We really appreciate it (and I do apologize for the lateness in my reply). I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast. We've been working hard to create a better experience and value with our morning-meals and I'm glad to see the effort is paying off! Thanks again and we hope to see you again soon.

Beautiful B&B, but alittle skimpy on the food.

3,6 sur janvier 04, 2017

This B&B was beautiful, nice "homey" feel. Housekeeping was super nice, and everything looked and smelled so clean! The only drawback was the breakfast. It was tasty, but there wasn't much offered.

Réponse du propriétaire
First, thank you for taking the time to review the Cedars so promptly (unlike my response! so, sorry!). I'm glad you enjoyed your visit especially our clean rooms. We have a wonderful housekeeping staff that prides itself on cleaning every nook and cranny of the building (even behind the beds). I do apologize for the size of our breakfast portions. We couldn't agree more and that's why we have revamped our breakfasts. We now serve a larger, more varied, and seasonal menu thanks in large part because of guests like you who helpfully addressed the issue. Check out our blog on our website for more information. Thanks again.

We loved this B & B.

We stayed in the Lincoln Room. We enjoyed it...just know that it's an old structure so the heating system and bathroom layout reflect the limitations of the old building.

A Williamsburg Treasure

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were cozy and well-appointed, the food was delicious, and the owner was a gracious host.

Lovely Hosts, Perfect Location

4,2 sur décembre 09, 2016

The Cedars is located directly across from William and Mary and an easy walk to the historic area of Williamsburg. We only used our car for a side trip to Jamestown. The owners are a young couple who recently acquired the property. They are enthusiastic and working hard to make staying at their property a unique experience. While we were there, they tried several new, delicious recipes for breakfast. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was smallish, but this is an older building and to be expected. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.
