The Delightful D3

5 sur octobre 06, 2016

Stayed here a few years ago, and had great pleasure in returning! First class bedrooms, amenities, and the most comfortable beds! An eclectic range of reading material, coffee and cookies, and not forgetting a breakfast that will set you up for the day. Dora, David and Daisy Doo are terrific hosts. Love it and will return again....

staying in Woodstock

5 sur février 24, 2016

The rooms are comfortable. The furnishings and plumbing are idiosyncratic(which does not detract at all from user friendliness and comfort). The breakfasts are superb. If you are a particular fan of the British style of breakfast they are better than that. The Innkeepers are as unique as the rooms, and equally they are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Our stays at this inn have been memorable.

Wonderful Weekend

4,8 sur février 24, 2016

This was our 4th visit to this wonderful inn. We've enjoyed a variety of rooms, all decorated individually and creatively. D3 are always the most gracious hosts, and breakfast is sublime.

If your visiting the Woodstock area, this is a must stay place, The Woodstocker Inn, rated 5 stars...

5 sur octobre 10, 2015

OK, so let me tell you about my nights stay with some friends at the Woodstocker Inn. In a few words: It was simply "FABULOUS!!!" - We stayed while visiting the Queeche Gorge (worth the trip from anywhere by the way) - We entered the Inn and the owner greeted us cordially wearing a pair of sandals and a George Harrison tee shirt. Honestly the most down to earth kinda guy you would ever want to meet, friendly, courteous - He gives you a brief description of the Inn's amenities and then to your room. I don't want to rant and rave, but this was my kind of place. We came and wanted to sit back and enjoy a bottle of wine with a few friends. We sat in the Woodstocker Library, we enjoyed good talk, glasses of wine and the full true flavor of VT. which is what we were looking for. In the morning the three of us came down for breakfast at 9:55 am. (breakfast ends at 10am) to see if we might be able to still salvage a piece of toast or a quick something to eat.... Needless to say, the Innkeepers wife was there to greet us and was like the "angel of life" - instead of rushing the three of us off like they would have done just about anywhere else, they treated us like the day was all about us. True hospitality here!!! There is a daily menu for breakfast (Included in the nights stay I might add) but to make it more homely they ask you simply what your in the mood to eat and cook it for you to order. Now, anyplace other than VT this is rather unheard of, but while in VT this is exactly fitting. We had scrambled eggs, fresh VT ham, Orange Juice, Coffee that you hand press in European presses, just the real feel of VT here, Five stars all the way. So, to sum it up. If you want a regular uneventful hotel room this wont appeal, If you want a memorable unique room that makes you feel like your truly in VT with all the charm and class of what you'd expect, here it is right here, - At double the price... It'd still be worth it... it was that good!!!

The perfect place to stay in Vermont

4,6 sur septembre 03, 2015

My husband and i stayed at the Woodstocker for two nights together with our daughters (aged 21 and 19). Dora and David were very hospitable and a wonderful source of information about Woodstock and the surrounding area. As fellow Brits they were also able to provide us with interesting insights into the US which made our two week visit to the country more meaningful. Everything from the soft beds, uncluttered and scrupulous clean rooms, fascinating library of books and comfortable sitting room, delicious breakfast and use of kitchen (including endless supplies of cake) was perfect - i cannot recommend the Woodstock Inn highly enough. To cap it all Woodstock is a delightful pretty town with lovely places to eat and the walks directly behind the Woodstocker Inn provide far reaching views over the beautiful countryside that surrounds it.

Eclectic Inn with Exceptional Hosts

5 sur août 29, 2015

We stayed at The Woodstocker based on a referral from friends who visited last year and we're glad we took their advise. This is most definitely not your grandmothers B&B. The lace and frill have given way to brightly painted, individually decorated, spacious rooms and modern baths. There is plenty of space for gathering, a great library and a small alcove kitchenette in case you need coffee, tea or treats at an odd hour. Of course, every inn is defined by its owners, and Dora and David are wonderful, providing not just tips about what to do around the area, but great conversation and stories. David even managed to get two out of the three of us to try blood pudding, so you know he is persuasive. We hope to make it back for leaf peeping season next year!

We thank you for the kind comments and appreciate you taking the time to tell the world. Personal referrals are very important to us and we are satisfied that the folks who referred you allowed us to continue to deliver a consistent standard, that met your needs. Consistency can sadly often be missing in the hospitality business. We hope that the two of you who tried black pudding and didn't seem to leave Daisy Doo much to hoover up was a positive sign that you liked it! We hope you may now choose to pass on our details to any folks heading to the chilly north....and of course please do come back soon!

Home away from home

5 sur août 18, 2015

The Woodstocker Inn is a unique place. You immediately feel at home by the welcome given by Dora, David and Daisy Doo. We were fortunate enough to to be upgraded and relished the use of the Richmond suite, particularly a jacuzzi to unwind at the end of a very busy day. What a way to relax! The bathroom is spectacular, filled with organic toiletries and a little rubber duck on the edge of the bath. The bed was extremely comfortable with organic linen that cocooons you as you sleep. Breakfast was lovingly prepared and exquisitely presented, but this just illustrates Dora and David's ethos in running this fantastic inn. For us Brits, a quirky reminder of home, (and all the way from Sainsbury's, Chiswick) was the jar of Marmite at breakfast, along with boiled eggs and soldiers. Dora and David gave us some many ideas of things to do and places to visit, we struggled to achieve it all in our 2 day stay. But Dora and David's hospitality and care doesn't end when you leave: we left an iPad behind and they arranged for it to be Fed-Exed so it was awaiting our arrival at a further destination. All we can say is thank- you!

Comfortable and well organized

Charming little Inn with easy to work with hosts - a nice visit, would visit again

Our 8th yearly visit, as wonderful as ever!

5 sur février 22, 2015

David and Dora combine great warmth, energy, and creativity with superb breakfasts and lots of foodie extras (many types of chocolates, biscotti, fruitcake) to fashion an absolutely wonderful guest experience. We keep returning for the fine hospitality, matched with a gem of a town to visit. The Woodstocker Inn is just 2 blocks walk from the center of Woodstock. The town is quaint, upscale, old New England at its best, with an eclectic general store, galleries, jewelers, and crafts shops, and great dining choices. Outdoor activities abound, and there's a great sports complex a mile away. The Woodstocker is an excellent launching pad for the area. Rooms are unique (particularly bathrooms), comfortable, and immaculately clean. Nooks and crannies downstairs offer a huge and varied book collection, CD collection, and 24 hour availability of snacks and beverages. The innkeepers are very personable, and glad to discuss the area and its dining and amusements. Overall, in 8 years we've not found a single glitch, only the warmest hospitality very reasonably priced.

An Unmitigated Gem

5 sur février 05, 2015

This inn deserves every award it has won and more. My spouse and I stayed there in early February 2015 for 4 days. When I called for a reservation we were immediately offered an upgrade. The descriptions and photos on the website are completely accurate, or maybe the reality is even better. The accommodations were immaculate, the bed comfortable, the rooms and guest areas are nicely appointed with colorful, uncluttered, and sometimes whimsical decor; very inviting. The breakfast was fabulous-- no need for lunch after creamy porridge and maple syrup, toast and marmalade made by Dora, who also makes the muesli and compote. David cooks eggs any way you like, and although we are not meat eaters, those sausages looked scrumptious. The delightful and very British (in the best kind of way) hosts, Dora and David, served breakfast, but we did not see them or their adorable dog Daisy Doo the rest of the day, giving guests lots of privacy. On the way home and into the evening, we couldn't stop talking about "D3" and their inn.

Friendly hosts, comfortable, and great location with reasonable price.

Fun Rooms, Great Village, Excellent Breakfast

5 sur décembre 07, 2014

What a fun, cheery inn. The rooms have a lot of character and color, and have plenty of space. The owners are cheery and helpful. And the english breakfasts are fantastic. We have stayed here several times for a fun getaway weekend in the fantastic village of Woodstock, and we always have a great time. You can't go wrong with the Woodstocker!

Just Book the Room!

4,6 sur décembre 04, 2014

This was my third visit to the Woodstocker, and this time I brought along my family. As usual, the trip exceeded expectations--because the Inn was quiet, Dora and David upgraded our accommodations. As always, the rooms were pristine, the beds heavenly, and the food absolutely delicious. Dora, David, and Daisy Doo have created a magical place nestled in one of New England's most quintessential towns.

If you stay in Woodstock....stay at the Woodstocker!!!

5 sur décembre 02, 2014

We were extremely fortunate to visit the Woodstocker Inn over Thanksgiving weekend and had a most amazing stay. David, Dora and Daisy AKA D3 are the best hosts in the business. The room was wonderful and the breakfast is absolutely fabulous. Try the Full Monty. You will never forget Woodstock if you stay here. They will make your trip into a lifetime memory. I already want to go back!!! (Hint:If you have a pet, you can overnight them at Woodstock Animal Hospital which is a few doors down the street. My dog Blue enjoyed his stay there very much.)

A Little Bit Different, Quirky and Fantastic

5 sur novembre 24, 2014

We visited at the end of October as a family of 4 with my 18 and 20 year old daughters. The accommodation is fantastic and very individual, as are the owners who were delightful and nothing was too much trouble! The rooms all have individual themes and make a great change from corporate hotels, we had a amazing red bathroom for example. Woodstock is beautiful and well worth a visit, we had a hired a 4 wheel drive and David planned out a route and we drove around for the day, highlight being the Vermont Country Store (& Bar) which was like going back to the times of the Walton's! Breakfast is fab, and overall had a great relaxing time between visiting Boston and New York If you are thinking of travelling and need an itinerary, speak to David , he pretty much planned ours

Very recommendable

4,2 sur octobre 20, 2014

We stayed at David's, Dora's dand Daisy's inn for 2 nights in October 2014 and we enjoyed their great hospitality and helpfulness. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the home-made breakfast among the best on aur 4-weeks trip.

British charm , vermont hospitality

4,8 sur septembre 16, 2014

The woostocker inn was recommended by a friend with high standards, and lived up to them! Dora , David & Daisy operate an hospitable, charming, & relaxing B&B. They are personable inn-keepers, interested in people but not overbearing. The ambience of the public areas is spacious and comfortable, the music tasteful, decor colorful. Our room was well appointed (smooth cotton sheets, down comforter, multiple reading lamps, armchair, desk provided when I asked). It's only downside was a small window, and little cross-ventilation. Breakfast included house made granola, fruit compote and orange marmalade, all yummy, and cooked to order hot food including local sausage, and even kippers one day. It's an easy walk into central Woodstock village, but outside of the crowded tourist areas. We were looking for a B&B with terrific food, comfort, and a sense of respite- all found at the Woodstocker.

Unique, cozy, friendly, worldy feel!

5 sur septembre 09, 2014

We had a great visit this past weekend. We were able to enjoy the lovely Chelsea room and we would highly recommend it! We loved the red bath tub and the warm bathroom floor on a cool VT morning. Thanks for having us. We hope to stay longer next time!

relaxing and unplugging

4,8 sur septembre 03, 2014

We only had a brief visit - from one evening to the next morning ... - each minute of that brief visit calmed our souls and eased our minds ... the soaking tubs (claw footed and side by side) were soothing with aromatherapy oil provided - charming light patterns on the walls (moose / stars) in the tiles bath ...very relaxing .... breakfast was fabulous and the library phenomenal - but the most amazing thing was the bed - i got the deepest sleep of several years .. five star .. so, two weeks later, we did it again!!

4,8 sur mai 02, 2014

My partner and I stayed at the inn for 3 days in late April/May 2014. Because the Inn was quiet we got a free upgrade to a larger room! What a pleasant and wonderful surprise. The owners are absolutely fantastic and are there to help you get situated and oriented to their lovely inn. The inn is spotless, fun, charming, private and ideally located to explore the village and surrounding area.We recommend this Inn whole heartedly to anyone that is looking for a charming, we'll-maintained and comfortable bed and breakfast. Our expectations were exceeded!

Réponse du propriétaire
We are delighted that these folks had their expectations exceeded, as that is the finest compliment we could receive. We also appreciate that they understood our sense of fun, as life really is too short to be somber all the time. We hope that more folks may smile and laugh when staying at the Woodstocker.

Very accomodating, friendly hosts! great stay

4,8 sur mars 23, 2014

We were driving through town and did not have reservations - we found the Woodstocker Inn on website so decided to call them directly to see if there was availability. The innkeepers were very accomodating and friendly and were able to meet us to show us the rooms right away. We had a great experience staying here. The room was very clean and spacious and the breakfast was great! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends.

Excellent. I even had the priviledge of meeting Daisy, very friendly gal!

Great place to stay

5 sur février 17, 2014

My wife and I recently spent a night at The Woodstocker Inn. We have driven through Woodstock countless times on the way to visit family, and have always talked about spending more time there. I couldn't be more pleased with the decision to stay at the Woodstocker. Our room was modern, comfortable, and clean. David and Dora were friendly and accommodating. Daisy Doo welcomed us at the door when we arrived which is always a great way to start a visit. Breakfast was fresh and cooked to order. I highly recommend whatever sausage is on the menu at the time of your stay. The location of the inn is great. You are only a few minute walk from the center of Woodstock. We will definitely be staying here again during our next stop!

Excellent stay

4,8 sur janvier 05, 2014

My husband and I spent the Christmas holiday at the Woodstocker Inn and felt right at home. The B&B is beautifully appointed and unique, the innkeepers are warm and friendly and the breakfasts are delicious and cooked to order. David, Dora and Daisy-Doo made us feel welcome and were very helpful with recommendations for places to stay in the area. We had such a lovely time that we stayed an extra night. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Hospitality plus!

4,8 sur décembre 05, 2013

I recently stayed here with my Mum and Dad and we had a wonderful time! Dora and David couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Our rooms were clean, cosy and homely. The breakfast selection had everything you could hope for and more - it had good quality English tea! The meals were hearty, made to order and the ingredients were fresh and of a high quality. David and Dora are highly knowledgable of the area and were able to recommend several good places to eat and visit. Thank you for a great stay!

Wonderful stay

4,8 sur novembre 24, 2013

We stayed two nights and would have loved to stay longer. The room was beautiful and our hosts, David And Dora, could not have been nicer. They served a made to order breakfast that was delicious and very British. When my wife asked about a laundromat, Dora offered to wash our clothes, gratis! If I have one minor complaint, the TV could have been bigger because the room was quite large. All in all, a very positive experience.

11 out of 10

4,6 sur octobre 27, 2013

A lovely old cottage painted a bright yellow. Charming hosts who are expert on all tourism matters in the area. A scrumptious breakfast second to none - quality sausages and bacon in particular. Large rooms with comfortable bedding and ensuites. Located a five minute walk from the village of Woodstock with its interesting shopping and quality restaurants. Happily recommended to couples in particular. David and Dora were wonderful hosts.

Great Place to Stay

Wonderful innkeepers and the socializing with the guests at breakfast was great. Convenient walk to the center of town.

Lovely place

We were very pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the owners, and also the pet friendliness! The food was absolutely outstanding and everything was organic or locally grown.

A treat

4,6 sur septembre 09, 2013

My husband and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary at Woodstocker Inn and it was a thoroughly memorable stay. The sunflower-yellow house is delightful - stylish, a little quirky, not at all precious. Humorous touches create a unique atmosphere, but are not overdone. This is a high-quality establishment in every way. Innkeepers, Dora and David, are on hand without being overbearing. The library is a real plus, with kitchenette attached where one can make a cup of tea or coffee at any time. There are other cozy corners for relaxing too. Good reading material abounds, together with a terrific collection of cookery books. The breakfast is of the highest order - fabulous choices, made to perfection. We treated ourselves to the "high tea" and David's English scones got full marks from me (high praise, from the official scone-maker in our family). Altogether, a fabulous village inn experience, with a difference.

Grateful to find this lovely unique B&B

4,8 sur septembre 08, 2013

My sister was visting me in Boston when we decided to make an impromptu trip to Woodstock. We could not have made a better choice than to stay at the Woodstocker Inn for 2 nights. Our room was the Shaftesbury Room which is perfect for 2 adults traveling together. The room is bright (3 windows), impeccibly clean and designed in a fun, quirky and unique style. Best of all, the room is rather large and the beds are at opposite ends of the room so affords a sense of privacy for each person. The inn is lovely and filled with books, magazines and fun creative touches. The breakfast was absolutely amazing....healthy and from local sources. The hosts were friendly and accomodating. I will be back.....this B&B is definitely a "keeper."

This was our second visit to the Woodstocker and definitely will not be our last! This is absolutely one of the world's hidden treasures--a truly magical place in a wonderful Vermont town. It is the perfect place to go to decompress, recharge, refresh, and just enjoy simple pleasures. Your innkeepers (Dora, David, and Daisy Doo) will provide the warmest welcome you could imagine and their hospitality is truly remarkable. This is a place unlike any other you'll visit--in all the right ways!

Wonderful visit

4,6 sur juillet 22, 2013

We had a wonderful time at the Inn. David and Dora were fantastic hosts. Great clean room, delicious organic food, friendly environment, David’s wicked sense of humor was refreshing and the stay didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Basically nice to stay in a B&B that didn’t look like the rooms and pumping were last upgraded in 1910. Would love to return one day and stay longer.

Charming, reasonable, and comfortable

4,6 sur juillet 19, 2013

My wife and I were in town for a very short stay, and our lodging arrangements fell through. Dora and Dave had a vacancy, and we could not have been more delighted by the comfortable room appointments, and the charming touches throughout the room and common areas. If we return to Woodstock, VT., I can promise you where we shall be staying, and we will most certainly be taking advantage of the breakfast next time.

D3's inn is the place to stay.

5 sur juillet 15, 2013

The Woodstocker Inn was the highlight of our vacation! It is everything you hope to get when on a road trip in unknown territory.

Come for the funky room design, stay for the hospitality!

5 sur juillet 12, 2013

We loved the inn SO much! We try go to Vt for weekend getaways whenever we can. This trip the inn we've stayed at in the past was full up~ and much to our delight, we discovered the Woodstocker! This inn is conveniently located to shops in town, and a short walk to Mt. Tom. While the outside of the building looks deceptively Colonial, the interior design of each room is carefully and lovingly distinct~ funky and modern. I'm half Japanese and a huge bath fan. The Woodstocker has amazing bathing details in each room. The food was delicious, made to order (with love). We got engaged in room 8~ so we will definitely be back!

Quirky, fun b&b!

So in love w/ Daisy Doo Doo! Every B&B needs such a charming hostess. Fun home--spacious and quirky touches throughout! Great location--walkable to downtown. Would definitely return.

Great visit

4,2 sur juillet 01, 2013

Lovely property, good location, wonderful innkeepers, Daisy Doo, the dog, is so sweet. Fruitcake on arrival, breakfast was wonderful - among other things, the muesli, compote and eggs were the best Ive ever had. We will find a way to get back there!

Just wonderful

4,8 sur juin 24, 2013

Upon arriving my boyfriend said wearily, "and now the 20 minute check in" which is standard at B&Bs.(at least the ones we have stayed at previously). David was speedy and witty and got us through the process in three minutes flat. What a delightful man! Our Bradford room was cool on a sticky Vermont day and the handmade bathtub with fancy shower head was wonderful. The breakfast area was spotlessly clean (less so after our three failed attempts at using the french press coffee maker. Do ask for help if you are unfamiliar with them.) Dora is cheerful about any stupid question, and can accommodate most dietary issues with previous notice. We are Anglophiles and wished we had longer to stay and chat. It is a ton of work to run an inn, especially with such nice details, and they do an excellent job. Highly recommend.

Amazing Stay at the Woodstocker Inn

4,8 sur juin 18, 2013

My husband and I loved our stay at the woodstocker inn. The building is really great - a big old house that's been really nicely updated with modern touches. This is not a frilly victorian B&B and we like it that way! The breakfast was excellent and the pantry stocked with tea, french press coffee, and snacks was an incredible touch. We were upgraded to a king room with a beautiful bathroom. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer and we're already looking forward to returning.

Great Stay!

4,6 sur juin 13, 2013

Dora, David and Daisy Doo are great! Would definitely come back. Woodstock is a super cute little town. Thank you for a great weekend getaway!

One Night? Too Short a Stay.

5 sur mai 26, 2013

Rarely do I post reviews, but our exceptional stay compels me to encourage you to do the same. For some folks, this may not be their favorite place to be, but from my first interaction with David over the phone, I knew I'd found the right place to get a quick reprieve. We only stayed one evening, a total of 16 hours, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. Our room (Brandon) was excellent, the common areas cozy and our hosts simply wonderful. We live only 1.5 hrs north and I had been concerned about the 'stuffiness' of Woodstock, but I would happily stay at The Woodstocker again. The breakfast was delightful and I highly encourage you to partake in the English breakfast if only to try the blood sausage (a first for me). Don't rush. Take your time to wander around!

Homesick for the Inn!

5 sur mai 22, 2013

I missed the inn the moment we drove away. How I'd love to return for a longer stay! My room was perfect: quiet, clean, and close to a library full of interesting books on art, politics, travel, food, automobiles, and you name it. The breakfast had a dizzying number of choices. Best homemade granola I'd ever tasted. Great smoked salmon and eggs with fresh herbs. Dora and David felt like old friends. And Daisy Doo adorable. This is by far the best Bed and Breakfast I've ever stayed at!! Barbara

Eclectic and Pristine

5 sur avril 12, 2013

We just had a fantastic 3 night stay at The Woodstocker Inn. This eclectic inn is really stunning. The inn is located about two blocks from the main town center in Woodstock. Its absolutely spotless, meticulously maintained and beautifully decorated. We found the inn to be very cozy and welcoming. Breakfast was perfect. David and Dora are lovely, engaging, friendly innkeepers who gave us great tips on things to check out in the area. We stayed in the Richmond Suite and it was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. The suite is a spacious one bedroom with a great private deck. Comfortable king sized bed, nice tv/ stereo, mini-wine fridge, and super comfy leather chairs. And then there is the bathroom...skylight, fabulous shower and amazing air tub that you MUST use! We liked the room so much that one night we picked up pizza and enjoyed the great space and checking out the stars from the private deck.

A Fun and Romantic Experience

4,8 sur février 12, 2013

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful night at the Woodstocker Inn for our third anniversary. We were upgraded at no cost and enjoyed the warm hospitality of our hosts - and the lovely Daisy Doo, of course! The Woodstocker Inn "gets it", from their organic Fair Trade coffee to their unique luxury bathrooms. We plan on coming back for our next anniversary. Bravo!

Wow! We'll be back!

5 sur janvier 26, 2013

My wife and I recently went to Woodstock, VT for a quick getaway from the kids. The Woodstocker Inn was such a delight! As soon as we stepped foot into the Inn, we were pleasantly greeted by Dora, Dan & Daisy. Because we were the only couple staying at the Inn that particular weekend they upgraded our room, which was a great surprise! Everything from the pillowcases to the soap in the bathroom is organic, and the breakfast was out of this world. Extremely clean, and a very short walk to town. We can't recommend this place enough. Do It.

Great Xmas Eve at Woodstocker

5 sur décembre 30, 2012

This year we tried something different for a Christmas getaway and went to Woodstock, VT instead of our traditional roost, the Mount Washington Hotel. We were delighted by what the Woodstocker had to offer: very large bedroom, huge bathroom, cozy library/sitting area, walking distance to the town, refreshment area stocked with coffee, tea, cookies (biscotti), and fruitcake. I should also mention that there was candy (bars and pieces) all around us, which was delicious. Breakfast was great-plenty to eat. The innkeepers were intelligent, interesting and personable; they seemed to enjoy their chosen occupation and were very welcoming and helpful. The decor was charming. We had a great night's stay. We enjoyed it very much. Best B & B we have stayed at in a very long time. Loved it.

When in Woodstock, the Woodstocker is the place to be.

4,8 sur novembre 25, 2012

Great place to stay near Woodstock. I highly recommend it. The food and coffee are excellent.

Unique, Cozy and Eco-friendly

4,8 sur octobre 30, 2012

Our room was spacious, one of a kind, modern (mixed with antiques) and clean. The innkeepers were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Our overnight stay was relaxing and memorable, but the amenities would make the Inn a perfect place for a longer getaway. The wood floors are beautiful, kept that way by a "no shoes allowed" policy (they provide slippers). A bit strange at first, but totally relaxing in the end.

The perfect reset button for a busy lifestyle

5 sur octobre 25, 2012

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The Woodstocker Inn was exactly what we needed with our hectic schedules. We looked at a few rooms and settled on our first choice, The Westminster. The two soaking tubs were the perfect reset button before heading home. The bed was heavenly, plush soft pillows and a delicious comforter. Slept like a baby. David and Dora were so sweet and the food was to die for. We will most definitely be back.

My Favorite place in Town!

5 sur octobre 25, 2012

My husband and I have stayed at The Woodstocker Inn twice now and both times we have absolutely loved it. The rooms are very cozy yet modern and the Inn has homey feel to it. The breakfasts are amazing and I especially love that I get a menu with a list of choices. We also love the Innkeepers. They are friendly, accommodating, and very personal. We have already booked our third stay at the Woodstocker Inn for Woodstock's Wassailing weekend and we cannot wait!

Would love to go back there!

We stayed at the Woodstocker during our honeymoon, and it was the perfect choice. If you're looking for a bed and breakfast with modern amenities but still with small-town charm, this is it. The room was comfortable and clean - upgraded to a room with his/her's bathtubs! It was a short walk to the town center. Innkeepers were wonderful, too. This place is at the top of our list to revisit!

Lovely Inn

5 sur août 12, 2012

A lovely inn with very comfortable rooms. Very comfortable lounge with an interesting and eclectic library, linked to a handy kitchenette for 24/7 snacks.. One suggestion would be for slightly larger TVs in the rooms (in ours, the distance from the bed to the TV made it hard to watch sometimes. We will definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

i highly recommend The Woodstocker Inn

5 sur août 04, 2012

Each and every thoughtful detail about the woodstocker inn made it a most enjoyable stay in July, 2012. David was a delight to make arrangements on the phone. The room was pristine, the bed was luxurious. Breakfast was as bounteous and delicious as could be and the coffee was outstanding. David and Dora are warm, gracious and generous hosts. The location is excellent for access to everything. Thanks, David and Dora, for a most memorable experience!

Impressed and Delighted!

4,6 sur juillet 29, 2012

My boyfriend and I found the Woodstocker Inn on the Net on a Saturday morning. We rang them up and made a reservation for that very day, in part due to David's friendliness over the phone. We were only in Woodstock overnight but enjoyed our stay a great deal. David and Dora were were very welcoming and helpful. The inn itself was the 3 q's- quirky, quaint and quiet! Really neat place. Lots of nice touches and attention to detail- just what you'd want in boutique accomodations. Of course, I have to admit my favorite part- being a dog lover- was meeting Miss Daisy, who was a sweetheart. If she had fit in my suitcase I might have tried to bring her home. Overall, the Woodstocker was a fun experience that we highly recommend...

Great July 4th stay

5 sur juillet 27, 2012

We stopped at a couple of B &B's on our trip through Vermont and NH. This was the best. Breakfast was wonderful. The innkeeper was helpful and it was one of the best B&B's we ever stayed at.

Delightful honeymoon

5 sur juillet 21, 2012

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in May 2012. It was very quiet and peaceful in Woodstock that time of year, and we had the hostel to ourselves, save one German couple who came through for a night in the middle of the week. David and Dora were incredible housekeepers, and have a philosophy of "there when you need us, not when you don't." Obviously, this is exactly what you want to hear if you are there for a honeymoon, or just trying to relax for a few days. The rooms were very well kept (we poked our heads into all of them), and we ourselves stayed in the Westminster, which had these two tubs next to each other and reverse from one another - perfect for relaxing away a lazy afternoon. Their breakfasts each morning were outstanding, some of the best I've ever had - The Full Monty became a ritual, along with their homemade muesli and fruit compote. They also had snacks around the house, and a great knowledge of the local restaurants, including (helpfully) which ones were closed on certain days. Best of all, especially for my wife, it didn't feel like you were stepping into a 1920s southern period house, as some B&Bs can feel like with their doilies and what not. The facilities were modern, tasteful, and stocked with things you wanted to do and read, instead of staying in a museum. The location was great, right on the edge of Woodstock, walking distance from everywhere in town, and a 10 minute drive from the great Long Trail Brewery. My wife and I will certainly be heading back to VT at some point in the future, and there's no doubt where we'll be staying.

A recent stay

4,4 sur juillet 17, 2012

My wife and I drove up from NYC for the weekend and had a pleasant stay. I wish the innkeepers were there (they were on vaca) as they were so great to interact with over the phone, but the caretakers who were their upon our arrival were equally great. I understand they have a no children's policy, but one of the family's staying there had a baby with them. I wish we could have negotiated that because we left our baby behind (which was part of the point I guess). Overall a great stay! Highly recommended.

Réponse du propriétaire
The clients with the baby arrived with an infant and totally ignored our 'No children' policy, despite it being stated on our reservation enquiry form, and on all e-mail correspondence with them. The couple insisted on staying for one night with their baby, which our relief innkeepers were not at all happy with. However we apologise to the writers of this review as we failed to meet their reasonable expectations. Had we been able we would have transferred these clients reservation to another local child friendly inn, but this proposal was not acceptable to the couple with the baby. Many of our guests as this reviewer points out, choose to stay at our inn due to the 'no children' policy. We appreciate the comments expressed in this review and also their acceptance of our policies by leaving their own baby in NYC. Thankfully we rarely get clients who are not willing to respect our wishes.

My Stay at the Woodstocker

3,4 sur juillet 15, 2012

First, I think Dora and David were great especially David they were both very accomodating, helpful and pleasant. Second, I think the Inn was very nice and very different in many ways from other BB's I have stayed at. It was bright, colorful and the library was a delight. I was disappointed in the breakfast. They had great coffee a French press which made the meal okay. They had a hot menu which I thought was limited but I was hoping there would of been more to offer in the morning. I like fresh fruit, different breads and a choice of more cold items.( cereals more choice of yogurt etc.) I was hoping the coffee press would last all day. All in all I dont know if I would stay there again. I think I would try another BB.

Réponse du propriétaire
We would comment that complimentary french press coffee, tea, sodas and homemade cakes are always available in the 24 hour refreshment station at the back of the library. We are also delighted that our inns 'different style' was noticed and appreciated. Our breakfast menu, the largest of any B & B in Woodstock, is not prescriptive and always cooked fresh to order, but had we been made aware that this client preferred a larger selection of cold items we would have been happy to accommodate their request.

Perfect getaway for adults-only

4,0 sur juillet 09, 2012

We needed to get away for a week-end – in a foreign country with an European feel. We wanted to stay in an inn designed for adults-only; in Vermont preferably. My friend discovered the Woodstocker on Internet. Three-and-a-half hours later, there we were in a superb B&B decorated with exquisite taste. A plus for us, the Inn has a Library, antique furniture, wooden floors and modern bathrooms. For aficionados of the Slow Living Movement, this place is a dream come true. Everywhere in the common areas, one could hear pleasant music. The Inn provides amenities such as freshly cut flowers, organic soap, linen bed sheets, cosy bathrobes. It supplies commercial candy bars (not so good) – we prefer its homemade cakes. The garden would have been a nice place to enjoy afternoon tea or to read but it was not comfortable enough to spend much time in it. My friend and I had the most beautiful stay: she, in the Richmond Suite (R. S.) with a private balcony and I in the Westminster Room (W. R.). Quite unusually, two sinks and two baths grace the W. R. bathroom. I invited my friend to come and relax in one of them. We shared a half a bottle of wine and borrowed books from the well-furnished Library Room. Although the R. S. has leather sofas and a Bose media environment, if one wants to read in the evening, it would be best if the halogen lighting was stronger and installed with a dimmer. The bathroom sink is a curved beauty. Each morning we could try a different breakfast (juice, egg and soldiers, homemade sausages or a variety of cereals). Then, we would leave to explore the Village of Woodstock or walk to the Public Market or just wander in the streets to look at the cosy houses and gardens. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to David, our charming host, for his kindness towards us; sad to have missed his partner Dora. Thank you also to their friend Chris who helped serve breakfast and looked at our car which had a little trouble. Janick B. (Montreal, Canada)

Lovely, unique, clean, and cozy! LOVE the owners!

4,4 sur juin 17, 2012

Thoughtful, stylish, and varied decor. Fun splashes of color and art; candbars and coffee and great tea selection at all times of day. Clean and comfortable rooms. The bed was incredible as was the breakfast! Stay here and chat with D and D; they are wonderful, smart, fun, and wordly.

Love the Tub!!!!!!

4,6 sur juin 13, 2012

Walking in from a long drive, they couldn't have been more outgoing and pleasant. The house is incredibly clean and eclectic. There's chocolate every where!!!!! And we love Daisy. The room was very comfortable and clean and the bathroom was awesome. The tub is red. It, along with the sink and mirror, are made of some sort of plastic which coincides with the green mentality David and Dora have. The food is a typical English breakfast. It's not your typical B&B fare. If you're looking for pancakes and french toast, you're not going to get it here. We enjoyed the fact that they were not served here. We had quail egg, smoked salmon, English pudding, tea, and great conversation. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Great Experience!

My friend and I stayed here before the Covered Bridges Half Marathon. The room we had was huge and the innkeepers were fantastic! I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent first impressions of Vermont

5 sur juin 05, 2012

What more could we ask for from our first stay in Vermont - a comfortable bed, superb English style breakfast, helpful and friendly hosts, an equally friendly dog, and all situated in the quaint and pretty town of Woodstock. We would love to return if the situation arises in the future.

B&B virgins

4,8 sur juin 04, 2012

The Woodstocker was our first B&B - and set a very high bar! Our stay was comfortable and lovely. We loved 24/7 access to (French press!) coffee, tea, snacks, and chocolate. Dora, David and Daisy were excellent hosts. We really appreciated that they put our window A/C in during the day while we were out, without us asking them to. Dora made us a delicious breakfast both mornings and was a great resource for things to do in town during our stay. The B&B was quiet and cozy - our king bed was super comfortable and hard to get out of in the morning! We also liked the cozy robes and towels. The entire experience was charming, and we very much hope to be back!

Lovely Inn!

5 sur mars 30, 2012

This is such a charming inn and the Inn Keepers are wonderful, friendly people. My boyfriend actually surprised me with a trip to The Woodstocker Inn for my birthday and he chose it specifically because it stood out from the traditional inns we had been to. Breakfast is served daily by the lovely inn keepers. You won't find any traditional egg & pancakes breakfasts here though! They serve English style breakfasts and they are delicious to say the least! The room itself was immaculate, quite possibly the cleanest room I'd ever been to. I loved that each room in the inn has its own theme, not two rooms alike (and all decorated beautifully), and also that they are very eco-friendly. My only complaint was that the scent of the organic soap/shampoo they offer, to me, was awful. But that's hardly a big deal as I always bring my own anyway. I'm looking forward to visiting them again in the near future! Oh - and before I forget, They have the cutest dog named Daisy! I'm terrified of dogs but Daisy is so adorable and super friendly - she just melted my heart!

A Perfect Place to Stay

5 sur mars 27, 2012

We were one of four couples who traveled together to the Woodstocker Inn last weekend. It was wonderful. Dora made us feel welcome and gave us helpful tips on restaurants and local activities. The inn itself is very interesting, bright and cheerful with plenty of room to gather and relax. The rooms are spotless, attractive and well-appointed, without that typical, fussy feel you find in some inns. The library is filled with a fascinating array of books, perfect for browsing during a quiet afternoon. Breakfast was huge and delicious. We all agreed that this was one of the nicest inns in which we've stayed, and hope to return soon.

5 sur mars 19, 2012

The Woodstocker Inn is amazing! Extremely satisfied with our stay here. From the welcome, the room, the cleaniless, the help and especially the breakfast, everything was fantastic! Althought not on sale, we had to purchase their homemade marmalade. We are eating way too much bread these days just so we can eat the marmalade. I'm excited for our next visit here.

Contemporary and comfortable

4,8 sur mars 04, 2012

As a business traveler, I was seeking a quiet and comfortable inn at a reasonable rate and in an easy location. I found the Woodstocker Inn to meet those requirements but so much more. My reservation was immediately upgraded from a queen to king room, to my delight. And the bathroom was to die for...a one of a kind pebble inlaid tub with rainshower. It was difficult to decide whether to shower or bathe so I did both. The entire inn was impeccably clean and I was particularly impressed with David and Dora's green orientation. Great idea to request that outside shoes be removed and though a little off putting when considering the weather in February, it was not at all incovenient, I found, when I arrived. Daisy was an excellent greeter! Breakfast was superb. The homemade granola and fruit compote outstanding and the herbed scrambled eggs were perfection. Dora was a pleasure to talk with and David surprised me with a tin of beans to give to my British born hubby (who couldn't join me) as a gesture to a fellow Brit. Brilliant! I will definitely return, husband in tow next time.

Presidents Day weekend

4,6 sur février 20, 2012

our first visit to the inn, with friends who have come annually for the past 4 years. Loved the place, all the little touches like unexpected baskets of goodies, self-serve French press, fantastic library, great breakfasts. David and Dora are a hoot. The town is adorable and everything is in walking distance. Guests feel comfortable lounging about in their flannels, doesn't get more cozy than that... Michael & Terri, Philadelphia

Just Amazing

4,6 sur février 02, 2012

Dora and David were amazing and fulfilled every request. Spent a night with my girlfriend in January. They upgraded us as soon as we got there and David recommended a great floral place and had the bouquet in the room when we arrived. Best scrambled eggs I've ever had, we actually wondered if we could have another breakfast for lunch that afternoon. The house is quaint and elegant and they have a cute little pup that greets you at the door. Planning to go back as soon as we get the chance and staying for more than one night.

Our wonderful stay at the Woodstocker

4,0 sur janvier 27, 2012

We really loved our weekend here. We picked it for the happy room, the granola, and Daisy. And everything lived up to our expectations! The room was so sweet! The granola was so good we filled up on that - although the breakfast menu was wonderful. And Daisy is a peach. We've gone to a lot of B&Bs and found this one of the sweetest and most unique and fun ones. The owners seemed to make a special effort with every decoration and amenity, and it all made us smile. We didn't want to leave!

Immaculate and modern

4,6 sur janvier 22, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Woodstocker for an anniversary ski weekend. We had a wonderful stay. Dora and David were the perfect hosts. They were attentive to our needs and great fun to chat with. David was extremely knowledgeable in helping us navigate our way around nearby killington mountain and local breweries. Dora gave us a wonderful tour of the house when we first arrived and made us feel very welcome. The inn and our room were immaculate. we loved that it was both modern and Eco friendly. They also went out of their way to upgraded us to a room with a king that was available. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to get an early start so we didn't get a chance to try breakfast. From what we could see, it was clear they took pride in their cooking as well. We will definitely be back for a longer stay...and breakfast. Would love to see the grounds and the town in the summer.

Comforting and pleasant

4,4 sur janvier 22, 2012

The hosts are very accommodating, the food is great, and the premises are more than pleasant--stocked with over a thousand interesting books to peruse, chocolate candy of various sizes and variety, a friendly and quiet dog, who makes the occasional guest appearance, and . . . acres of state park behind the inn, available for your hiking pleasure.

Pleasant surprise

My husband and I stayed here for our 25 anniversary in December. It was our first time staying in a B&B,we were a little nervous , but it turned out to be one of the best times we had away. David was a wonderful host, made us feel at ease,Daisy was very well behaved. Sorry we didn,t get to meet Dora, she was away at the time. Our room was comfy. and the breakfast was wonderful. Sorry can"t think of anything negative to say! Thanks for a great time. Colleen and Ernie

Fabulous place!

Mother/daughter holiday getaway was THE BEST at this fantastic inn! David & Dora are welcoming, friendly, amusing as heck, and Daisy Doo is a doll. Out-of-this world breakfast; large and well-appointed rooms. The book collection is something (well, they DID work in publishing!); eclectic musical selections. Love the artwork, the round-the-clock guest kitchen, complete with David's amazing fruitcake and the best biscotti we've ever had. So nice to stay at a VERY non-stuffy B & B! Highly recommended. wondrous Woodstocker Inn

5 sur novembre 29, 2011

The Woodstocker goes to the top of our list. Here's a warm and delightful experience. Delightful decor with lots of surprises in unexpected places -charming art work and whimsical sculptues. Gracious places to relax in common rooms with music gently piped in,with comfortable chairs/couches. The library has unbelievable seleections many subjects and current selections too !The food is so very specials-treats in the room tempting chocolates and homemade cakes ,exceptional breakfasts that you will not find in other B&b's. eg. fresh fruit compote, organic eggs with wild imported salmon. A short walk to the village of Woodstock. Warm, helpful and energetic hosts. We loved our experience having a family reunion here for Thanksgiving made it perfect. Elaine and Bret Charipper NYC

Something a little different

4,6 sur novembre 14, 2011

We turned up without a reservation not realizing that normally Woodstock is booked solid in October but Hurricane Irene created some vacancies for us! Dora welcomed us and you know how they say you make your mind up about people in the first minute - she clinched it with her welcoming smile and friendly manner. Then she consolidated the good impression by asking us to take our shoes off! My wife is always keen about this at home. Here it says that the inn keeper is proud of their establishment, keeps it clean and wants you to help them keep it that way. The Woodstocker is an old rambling home and David and Dora have gone to great lengths to make it comfortable and offering that something extra to make your stay memorable. In the Woodstocker this takes the form of a guest kitchen with tea (we were desperate for a decent cup of tea - thanks David!) coffee, a fridge, bikkies, nibbles, chocolates, etc. There is a well-stocked library and I think maybe a DVD selection. The breakfast was excellent offering whatever took your fancy and David does a good job in the kitchen too. I guess Dora was somewhere peddling away on the generator or something but it seems D2 is the 'Front of House'. There's a good reason for this - he is garrulous. Normally you might mark him down for this but his conversation is really interesting. He talks like a Gatling gun and has an opinion on everything, but not opinionated - just alert and aware. David can give good advice on where to go, where to eat, what to do, how to vote (just kidding), you name it and David can tell you something about it.. The room was comfortable and whilst the cost was a little higher than I would have expected, it turns out that this is the status quo in Woodstock. WiFi is included and the bed was super comfortable, I think we had the Bradford room. Rain banging on the window ensured we had a snug and restful night. John & Heather Laherty

we spent one night at this inn and we highly impressed by the quality of the service and the room (Westminster). A Lucky Dog's Life

4,8 sur octobre 31, 2011

You expect a deluxe inn in Woodstock, VT (the village beautiful that, to all outward appearances, seems to have been spared the wrath of a tough economy) to live up to expectations, and The Woodstocker Inn passes all creature-comfort tests with ease. All the surprises about Inn are upside ones. Each room, both public and personal, showcase a "Livesley" imagination, and with every amenity accounted for, the fun and satisfying quirkiness of the people space, clean and polished to an inch of its life, adds to the pleasure. The smart and eco-friendly lighting and plumbing throughout the inn is an unexpected delight. Breakfast is a regal experience: perfectly prepared local and homemade (fruit compote, anyone?) products are of the highest order are served with good cheer. The Inn, designed, built, and run with wit and wisdom, reflects the engaging personality of the hosts, As I departed after a perfect night's sleep and a royal repast, a glance at Daisy Doo, the Livesley's beloved dog who has the run of the public rooms, day in and day out. left me with an inconvenient truth: a lucky dog's life trumps all. Funky but fun B&B

4,0 sur octobre 28, 2011

Interesting B&B in a great location in Woodstock. Easy walk to downtown. Beautiful old home which has been remodeled in a modern and contemporary decor. Everything was immaculate; especially the bathroom. The guests' library and stocked kitchen was a nice touch. Did not hear any traffic from the highway outside. Owners are gracious and pleasant. The breakfast is a bit quirky as it is served with a decidedly British flair. Wish I had know we could have just asked for the eggs and toast. Did try the beans and brown sauce though. Coffee is made in a separate french press pot by each guest or family. Some guests had a tough time figuring out how to make the coffee as the host/hostess were in the kitchen making breakfast. Overall a good experience.

We are delighted that these clients had a good stay and never realised when we bought our cafetieres six years ago, that they would attract so much comment! Other inns in the US certainly use them, but we seem to be the only one that allows clients free reign to make beverages when they want 24 hours a day. Thus we believe allows everyone to sup tea or coffee just as they like it. Alos unlike many other inns prescriptive style for breakfast, all our clients can choose any combination of items from a menu which are then cooked to order. The fact that these clients seemed to miss this fact bemuses us, as every client is talked through the menu by Dora.

Would definitely return!

4,2 sur octobre 28, 2011

My stay was unfortunately way too short and a bit rushed (business trip). I did not arrive until 11PM on the night of my stay, and was exceedingly grateful to "D3" that they cheerfully waited up for me, and then "talked me through" my drive through town to their inn. (Also love the British accent!) I had to leave before breakfast the following morning, so can't really comment on the food, but what I saw them preparing made me want to miss the start of my meeting. I highly recommend the Woodstocker Inn (not to be confused with the Woodstock Inn, a hotel just down the road, also very nice but not a B&B).

A bit of Britain in Vermont

4,0 sur octobre 03, 2011

Being lifelong Anglophiles, we were looking forward to staying at this Brit-run B&B while visiting relatives in town. Although it was expensive, everything about the stay was first rate, especially the full English breakfast cooked to order and served by our charming hosts. And their dog, Daisy Doo, is a sweetheart. My only complaint was that our room, while large and with a large, comfortable bed, was basically an attic room under the eaves with one tiny window, and we thought it was overpriced. Also, the large Batman/Warhol poster, the artistic focal point of the room, is ugly and jarring. Otherwise, we had a lovely visit and hope to return someday (and stay in one of the nicer rooms).

Bags of style..

A delightful place with warm colourful decor and, for that matter, warm and colourful hosts. The brekkie was excellent; the rooms and common areas are welcoming and comfortable. The guest kitchen offered home made cake as well as all the usual items that make a stay comfortable. Highly recommended. N & J, Melbourne, Aus.

Lovely experience... wished we could have stayed longer!

5 sur septembre 26, 2011

We had a lovely stay here just one week after Hurricane Irene hit Vermont, and Woodstock, especially hard. Our stay was wonderful, the breakfast delicious, our hosts gracious. What was most impressive, however, was that the Woodstocker contacted us the week before, after Irene hit, to offer us a full refund and the option of not coming. Although it was the right thing to do, it was great that they contacted us and gave us the option of changing our plans. We were thrilled to be able to keep them, however, as Woodstock got water and power back in time, and everything ran smoothly at the Woodstocker. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, delicious retreat.

Modern take on historic Vermont

3,6 sur septembre 19, 2011

The innkeepers are lovely and breakfast was good & made to order. I enjoyed the library and common spaces quite a bit, including the small kitchenette where guests could make coffee/tea. I found it to be a bit over-priced for what it is, though it seems to be in-line with other B&Bs in the area. The room was spacious, nice attached bathroom. The antique sofa in the room was not comfortable to sit on, but there was another chair that was.

Exactly what we were looking for and more!

5 sur septembre 08, 2011

This place is great. The trip was almost canceled due to the hurricane but they, in true British fashion, kept calm and carried on. They were awesome at communicating with us possible difficulties due to the water being down in the town and as soon as they had water were open and operational immediately. I wish I could list all the amazing things about this inn, but I will try to keep it short in hopes everyone will take the time to read this review. 1. The innkeepers and AMAZING. David and Dora paid attention to every single detail. Their mindfulness and consideration made us feel so completely taken care of. It was such a nice relaxing break from normal everyday life. 2.DAISY!!! Sadly, we cannot have a dog right now due to moving quite often with the Air Force. Being quite the dog person I frequently tend to monopolize other people's pets and D2 had no problem with that! They were so kind in letting me play with the dog for pretty much the entire stay, and let me tell you, I would be hard pressed to find one that was gentler and better behaved. 3.The inn itself was beautiful, charming yet modern without being at all cold. It made me feel like one of the cool kids just being there. Our room (the Richmond suite) was amazing, the bathtub extraordinary and the bed super comfy. The tea station was so nice to have available, the candy made us feel like kids again, and the library was well stocked and welcoming. They even had a great selection of cds we took full advantage of. 4. The town! Perfect New England charming little town with amazing food, great hiking and lovely people. I could go on and on about how much we loved this place but you really should just go there and see for yourself! There was nothing I would change about our stay and we look forward to visiting in the future for foliage season. Oh and one more thing, the sausages are amazing! We went and bought a ton to bring home with us because we couldn't get enough!!

We always try to deliver the best stay and communicate with clients when we feel we might not be able to deliver what we feel our standard should be. In this instance the client listened to our advice and was flexible and we both felt that there was a very positive outcome. As we know it's the small attention to detail that makes all the difference. Thank you Katie & Shawn....Daisy Doo already misses you.

Friends and I stayed here recently for a nearby wedding and thought it was comfortable, inviting, and had more amenties than many hotels! D2 (David & Dora) make their guests feel welcome without being overbearing. The bed & breakfast is lovely, clean and as a townie mentioned "can be seen from outer space" (referring to its bright yellow color.) We were upgraded to the Richmond suite, which has a balcony, king-size bed, and a huge bathtub in a very modern (and huge) bathroom. There is enough extra room on the first floor of the inn to spread out if you just want to sit and read, play a game, or just "be". The Woodstocker is conveniently located, parking is plentiful, and we plan to return.

A delightful 3 nights

We are very happy we stayed at The Woodstocker Inn. The Richmond Suite was exactly like its pictures. It is roomy, bright, fastidiously clean, quiet and very relaxing. Its design reflects the owners D3 to a T. They were a delight to meet with each morning to discuss breakfast options (Try the Bacon Butty). They are engaging and knowledgeable about the area and happy to make activity and dining recommendations. We enjoyed every activity they recommended ie walking up Mt Tom and visiting the Sugarbush Farm to taking the River Road at sunset to Simon Pearce Restaurant rather than Route 4. Have to like a place that has photo of Basil Fawlty on the wall. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing and satisfying stay and look forward to returning. Big hello to Daisy Doo the quietest dog in Christendom.

A quiet dog indeed I am...but I am VERY partial to any leftover sausages or bacon...or please do bring me a dog biscuit upon check in...I'll wag my stump extra hard to meet and greet you!

Dave, Dora, and Daisy are ideal hosts. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, anything you could want or need has been anticipated and handled with kind consideration. You will certainly feel at home. I very much hope that I can return to Woodstock and stay here again.

Stayed at the Woodstocker this past weekend. My girlfriend and I recently got engaged. This place was perfect. David, Dora and Daisy were more than gracious hosts. We stayed in the Bradford room with it's beautiful hand made tub and phenomenal rain shower. Factor in that it was about 10-15 mins away from Quechee with a dinner at the romantic Simon Pearce restaurant and you have a perfect weekend indeed. I highly recommend this classic inn with a modern elcectic twist. Look forward to staying again sometime.

The Woodstocker Inn

4,8 sur mai 08, 2011

5/8/11 I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at The Woodstocker Inn last week while visiting Woodstock, VT. If you want to treat yourself to a special experience, this is the place. The room was huge, and so comfortable that I woke up at one point thinking I was in my own bed at home. Dora and David are terrific hosts (and Daisy Doo is extremely cute). As advertised, breakfast is as organic and as local as possible. There is a common kitchen, and a large, eclectic selection of books in the library/sitting room. This is not a budget inn, but it is totally worth gifting yourself and anyone you love with a stay here. Highly recommended.

Love the Woodstocker!

Because of other activities and a short stay we were only in the actual Inn for a very short period of time. But the time we were in, it was wonderful. Everything we could have wanted and more from the comfortable beds, to the wonderfully decorated rooms, etc. Will definitely go back anytime we were in the area.

I had the most wonderful time at the Woodstocker Inn. It is one of the best b&bs I've been to. We stayed in the Bradford and had a comfortably firm bed with a beautiful bath decorated with pebbles. Be sure to bring your own conditioner. The decor is warm, friendly, and not taking itself too seriously. I loved the hardwood floors throughout the house and quirky decorations. Modern conveniences such as wifi and television added to the enjoyment of our stay. D3 were so wonderful and attentive. David was a 5-star host, paying attention to every detail. Breakfast was AMAZING! I couldn't get enough of it, and the setup was beautiful. And who could complain about chocolates everywhere 24/7?? Thank you D3!

Vermont Getaway

4,6 sur mars 02, 2011

Ten days later, I still have a bit of a glow from our Saturday in Woodstock and our night at the Woodstocker Inn. This was just the getaway my wife and I were looking for -- one night in snowy Vermont, dining out in Woodstock, and relaxing in our very lovely, very comfy room at the Woodstocker. We spent our night in the inn's Chelsea room. From the warmth of the comforter to the feel of the robes, the room was wonderful. The inn was full that night, but it never felt noisy. We had a nice chat with innkeeper Dora the next morning over a hearty, multi-course breakfast before walking back into town to check out the shops. So... yes. The Woodstocker Inn comes highly recommended by us. Keep up the good work, Triple D!

Love, love, love it!

Dora is delightful and cooks an awesome, filling and nutritious breakfast each day and is usually accompanied by Daisy Doo, the Inn's rescued pup. Spotless rooms, cheerful and eclectic decor make this a delight to visit! There are reading rooms w fireplace, board games if you like, cookbooks, and chocolate snacks at every turn! We spent 2 wonderful days here and enjoyed every minute, either awake or sleeping! There are art galleries and coffee shops in town (a walk away) and fine restaurants. Just a perfect, "textbook" B and B! Kevin Moher, Bedford, NH....we'll be back!

Not your ordinary Vermont Inn

4,0 sur janvier 19, 2011

A last minute trip to ski in Woodstock was made all the sweeter by a short stay at the Woodstocker. A slightly eccentric take on the classic B&B, and a refreshing change from the usual. From an eclectic decor to a breakfast menu featuring humorous takes on classic dishes. The fruit cake and fruit compote were so good they even let me buy some to take home. That's what makes this Inn so special, and worth the detour.

Hospitality at its finest

David and Dora were exceptional hosts. When I couldn't arrive on time for the appropriate check in hour that wasn't a problem at all. In fact I was delayed over four hours and David was still there to greet me when I arrive nearly at midnight. I was shown my room and then invited for tea and biscuits. The room was clean and comfortable with various lighting sources and reading chairs and a large cozy bed. The bathroom was large and clean as well. All of the soaps, creams and shampoos were organic and the towels were large and fluffy. The next morning's breakfast was delicious. A menu was set out among various teas, coffee, homemade fruit preserves, oats and yogurt. The menu had at least twelve options if not more. The breakfast was delicious and a good sized portion. Overall it was a great stay. Thanks David and Dora.

highly recommended this inn

4,6 sur janvier 05, 2011

I spent two nights in Vermont--unfortunately, only one at the Woodstocker Inn. The Inn's strongest point, in my view, is that it is free of the awful smells of chemical cleaning products, detergents, dryer sheets, etc. etc. The rooms are spectacularly clean and about the most pleasant I've ever experienced away from home. The room I stayed in was bright and lovely during the day, but, mercifully, dark and quiet at night--you know, just like night and day should be, especially in the country. The whole Inn is comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast is excellent. No overload of white flour products. Eggs, delicious bacon and sausage, smoked salmon, yoghurt, granola, etc. A great way to start a day of outdoor activities in and around Woodstock. Reviews are supposed to avoid hyperbole, but it's hard in the case of the Woodstocker. My only quibble is with the press pot of coffee in the morning. At home I'm a tea drinker; on the road, I drink coffee, and like a couple of hot cups in the morning. The press pot seems like a good idea, but does not, in my view, make the best coffee, nor does it stay hot. And making more than one cup becomes awkward. A small matter, though. If you're not staying at the Woodstock Inn, or if you're looking for a smaller place with more personality, stay here. I doubt you can do better. Oh--Daisy Doo the dog is gentle, beautiful, and non-shedding.

Réponse du propriétaire
The humble coffee press does elicit many comments and we respect the one expressed here. We do encourage our clients to make coffee and tea, using organic fair trade coffee, frequently and often throughout the day, and agree that it must be piping hot. Our electric kettle has also caused a small degree of confusion, but we will continue to try and convert the US to both of these wonderful devices.

Very european!

Me and my boyfriend stayed there over new years eve. We found out about the Inn just the night before and fortunatly there was still one room free. The reviews and the pictures looked gogeous so we had pretty high expectations and they weren't disappointed! We stayed at the Lincoln room, which is a rather smal but really cozy and beautiful room. The area around the Inn is really beautiful. We definatly enjoyed the last night of 2010 staying there and the first breakfast of 2011 was amazing!! Since we are both from Austria we enjoyed the touch of europe (good coffee!!)! If we are ever in the area again we will definatly come back!

We were looking for a final quick getaway of 2010 and stumbled upon the Woodstocker. What a find! This is not your normal B&B...It's far better. Perfect Place to Rest for a VT Weekend Getaway

4,6 sur novembre 28, 2010

We had never been to Woodstock, VT, nor had we ever been to a bed & breakfast, so we were unsure what to expect. The Woodstocker Inn will be a challenge to live up to in our minds! It was clean, warm, cozy-feel but spacious, and very welcoming. The inkeepers were readily available, but there was still great privacy. We stayed in the Chelsea, which had red light-up bath and sink! This feature was certainly entertaining. It was so relaxing to spend a day hiking and sightseeing, and then return to the Inn. We will definitely make this a tradition.

4 night stay

3,8 sur novembre 09, 2010

Good distance from town centre. We stayed in the Bradford room. The bed was very nice, as was the bathroom, but the rest of the room was basic, no wardrobe. The room constantly smelled of a foisty smell, which we believed originated from the drain in the bathroom, we covered it over which helped along with a room freshener. Breakfast was very nice and mixed seating was enjoyable as you spoke to different people each morning. Innkeepers David and Dora were very helpful.

Réponse du propriétaire
We are concerned to hear of the 'foisty' smell in the Bradford room as we were not aware of it until now. We are immediately investigating....however we use no chemical air freshners or cleaners so the natural smell might just be of our historic building? However it does concern us and we will attempt to rectify the issue now we have been alerted to it. We removed all non fitted wardrobes from all of our rooms when we took over the inn as most clients never used them, but we did place a number of wall hangers for clothes hanging in each room. Our inn style is not fussy and we do keep the clutter/uneccessary furniture/excess fabrics to a minimum. We could accept that our rooms might be described as basic, but they do not lack a choice of 21st century amenities and we think they are comfortable and cosy. The Bradford room does have one of our more interesting bathrooms, including a hand built tub...the like of which you will find no where else in Vermont! The distance the inn is from the village centre we conclude is a subjective point. It takes about 6 minutes to walk to the village green....which some clients have reviewed as being in the village centre. You can leave your vechicle at the inn and everything is within a short stroll.

We stayed at the Woodstocker while we were touring New England in October, and we very impressed by the experience. It differed from the other inns we stopped at, in that the decor was more minimal but stylish. Our room was very comfortable, and the bathroom had a good walk-in shower that it didn't take a degree to work. We enjoyed the breakfasts, the tea and coffee making facilities (with cake and confectionery available), and David & Dora were helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area. They are outstanding hosts. The library's great, too!

Comfy, Quirky and Convenient

Great location (walkable to everything in Woodstock), helpful innkeepers and comfortable accommodations were what greeted us at the Woodstocker Inn. The inn was thoughtfully designed with guests in mind. Take advantage of the fresh baked goods in the kitchen or lounge in the library. Keep in mind, this isn't your traditional B&B. If you're looking for Laura Ashley decor, this place isn't for you. The decor, which is fun and quirky, can't help but to make you smile.

This is the first B&B we have stayed in so we have nothing to compare it to. We really enjoyed The Woodstocker Inn. In all honesty we won this weekend getaway in a holiday raffle and were very excited to experience a Vermont B&B. Even though we would have chosen a more countryish decor, we certainly enjoyed the "eclectic" flair that the Woodstocker Inn is known for. It is a very charming Inn and the hosts made us feel at home. We felt very comfortable, secure and the feel of the Inn is welcoming. We would stay here again but not before experiencing a few other New England B&Bs. :-)

Different Than We Expected

3,0 sur octobre 12, 2010

My husband and I spent only one night at this inn out of our total of eight nights in Vermont. While this inn had its own kind of charm, we preferred the more historic, country house type of accommodation that we experienced in other villages. Our innkeepers were pleasant and the story of how they wound up in Woodstock, VT is an interesting one. But it seemed as though innkeeping was not their love, rather a step to or from something else. We appreciated the extensive library and alcove with hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. There were plenty of snacks around but they were more akin to the usual trick-or-treat candies than something healthy or uniquely Vermont. Our room was pleasant though spare and a bit cold feeling. We respected the "shoes off" policy, but we wish we would have known that in advance (or we missed it) because my husband has a disability that makes no shoes difficult. The dining area is nice and the breakfast fare was fresh and organic. If we are ever in this area again, we may try another inn even though this one is generally rated very well. Thank you for the opportunity to offer our thoughts.

Réponse du propriétaire
These clients made some pertinent observations and we thank them for taking the time to give us feedback. Unlike many hospitality businesses we do listen to our clients with keen interest and as a result we try to continually refine our business. We agree that our style of inn-keeping is not for everyone. Our refreshing style is defined on both our website and in our literature, and most of the reviews we have been lucky enough to receive, pick up on our individuality. The inn offers a simple contemporary 21st century style and we strive to be 'not just another New England traditional inn'. We cannot recall if the client spoke to us on booking, if they had we genuinely might have suggested a competitor inn/B & B for their stay as some offer the style the client sought. Our overall aim is make sure clients enjoy their stay in our area and find the level of hospitality they seek. Our shoe request is clarified in every confirmation and quote and we never seek to cause clients a problem. It surprises us that our passion for inn-keeping did not come across on this occasion, as we can occasionally be TOO passionate about our lifestyle, having sought a lifestyle change from a very different country, business world and culture...which we found in Woodstock VT. Sadly sourcing Vermont organic chocolate that is affordable has not yet been possible. We LOVE to offer local rather than National. However we feel the extra charge a client might have to incur in their room rate if we were to offer complimentary local chocolates, would not justify this indulgence.

Eclectic B&B

3,0 sur octobre 12, 2010

Stayed in an upstairs front-facing room; lots of road noise all night long.

Réponse du propriétaire
We are sorry this client had a poor nights sleep. The price of our two front rooms that face the road, reflects this potential issue, as a few clients have been disturbed by this annoyance, it all depends what sleeping environment you are used to. All the B & B's in Woodstock Village are on Route 4 and potentially have this issue. When a client makes a verbal enquiry we always inform them that larger quieter rooms are available and the reason our Shaftesbury and Chester rooms are very economically priced, is due to the issue of potential disturbance. As a standard practice we do provide complimentary ear plugs in most rooms, if we feel there might be a potential noise disturbance issue. As inn-keepers we were disappointed the client could find nothing positive to balance their review with.

The Best Fat Baastard Breakfast in the US

4,8 sur octobre 10, 2010

My wife and I stayed at the Woodstocker Inn for a couple of nights as part of our trip thru Boston, New England and Cape Cod. We found the overall feel of the the Inn to be excellant, quirky and maybe not typical for New England but hey isnt it refreshing to be a bit different. The bright colours and design were in my opinion all in keeping yet somewhat modern. The rooms were all a good size and very clean, the little kitchen well stocked with everything one would want including lovely little chocolate bars which I felt obliged to eat. The additional chocolate bars in a doggy bowl in the bedroom was also a welcome little treat on arrival but this was something I forgot to mention to my 'better half' so had both. The Library was extremely well stocked with all sort of books to wind away a few hours if one chooses. The hosts were excellant in both their local knowledge and their refreshing attitude towards their guests. The Inn is a short walk from an otherwise quiet village. On top of all that I found the range of breakfasts easily the best that we experienced on our entire trip. Yes no Pancakes or French Toast but everywhere else we stayed that was all we where fed. My favourite was the Fat Baastard ...... which included just about everything bar the kitchen sink and which kept me going most of the day. The food and the hosts made the stay and we can only but hope that we will pass that way again.

Réponse du propriétaire
Well we are always satisfied when tummies are full....and for the more modest consumer we offer the 'Skinny Bitch' well as organic compote and yogurt. We stayed for our one year anniversary a few weekends ago and we could not have been happier with our stay. Both Dora and David went above and beyond before we even arrived and then continued throughout our stay. The room was spotless and exactly as advertised. Breakfast was fresh and cooked to order perfectly. We arrived late Saturday and it was great when David told us to check out late and not to worry about staying a few extra hours. I would suggest to anyone who is booking a trip to Vermont to give this place some serious thought. We will be back!

This Place is lovely but,,

3,4 sur octobre 06, 2010

No doubt it, Woodstock is a lovely New England town, filled with folks from out of town, trendy shops, romantic wooden bridges. The Inn, was charming, but I just don't understand the awards. And you pay a big price for going GREEN. Having to wear used slippers to protect the floors (try some area rugs please). No view, no garden, no pool. The breakfast was novel, yes great, British with urban flare. And an outstanding book collection. Worth the price tag? No. But if wasted money is no object......

Réponse du propriétaire
We thank these clients for recognising our breakfast, unique book collection and also our 'green' awareness. To that end we are proud to have received an award from the Vermont Governor for our practices. We are not sure how the clients failed to notice our garden as it backs straight onto the National Park, from where you can walk for hours into 100% Vermont natural beauty. Our policy on shoe removal was inspired by travel in the Middle and Far East..where we noticed a style that we found charming and also very practical. Most folks in their own homes do remove outdoor footwear, and we like to feel it allows clients to identify with the individual style of our business. We get far more positive comments than negative, and to date we are not aware that anyone has suffered from bacterial related problems. On reservation confirmation every client is informed of our shoe request, and suggest that one may care to bring some indoor footware for use during their stay. However if one forgets, we do indeed have numerous pairs of slippers that folks can choose to wear...or simply walk barefoot. We have had some wonderful footwear...including Sock Monkey slippers! To be disappointed by the value of any service is of course a very subjective issue....and from the comments on this site, many other clients seem to be satisfied. At the inn we genuinely appreciate all feedback as it enables us to keep at the forefront of the lodging industry. Our awards are something we cannot comment on...but we of course appreciate being recognised by our piers.

David and Laura Pair wish to highly recommend visiting Woodstock, the surrounding area and especially endorse the "Woodstocker INN". We highly recommend the area and the Inn.

Really feel at home in Woodstock

4,4 sur octobre 03, 2010

We spent a few days at the Woodstocker Inn in Woodstock VT recently, more by chance than by design. But it turned out to be the most wonderful and comfortable place and I would like to recommend it most highly. The rooms are large and comfortable, with top amenities. The furnishings are good solid old furniture but you do not feel as though you are in an antique shop where you might break something if you sneeze, as many of the old houses seem to promote. Here you can be comfortable without concern. Breakfast was a feast. The hosts, David and Dora, do not believe in cutting costs when it comes to food, and in fact they are extremely knowledgeable about cuisine in general. Everything on offer is top quality. Delicious marmalade and blueberry jams, probably the best I have ever had, clearly homemade or limited edition; fresh breads; eggs, ham, plus all the typical English delicacies one might expect in London's top establishments, including real oatmeal (if you order in advance). But what makes Woodstocker unique and most wonderful are David and Dora themselves. This relatively young English couple make one feel so at home that you feel more like a guest in their home than a customer in their Inn. They cannot do enough to make one feel comfortable and to help one find whatever one is seeking in the area. Menu's from all the local restaurants are there for your review and they will book your table for you. Directions wherever you wish. And David's knowledge of local and international cuisine can keep you engaged for hours if you are so inclined. Plus a library and pantry available at all times. If you are looking for a comfortable, amiable, place to stay we would highly recommend the Woodstocker any time.

A lovely trip to Vermont

4,4 sur septembre 26, 2010

The Woodstocker Inn was a lovely B and B. We were in a room on the second floor, and it was bright and airy. The bathroom had modern fixtures, and was also very bright, roomy and airy. Our room was huge. In addition, it was one of the few B and Bs in the area with rooms that had two beds. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for exploring the area. In addition, they give a discount if you are taking a cooking class at the nearby King Arthur Baking Center. The breakfast was first class. They make many of the items themselves. The fruit compote was delicious, as was their home-made granola. They have a number of hot, made-to-order breakfast items with a decided British bent (complete with fried sausages). They have coffee and tea, and cookies and cake all day long (very nice after a long day). They also have lots of candy bars to satisfy your chocoholic leanings. All in all, a lovely B and B in a wonderful Vermont town. The only negative is a musty smell on the first floor, particularly in the entry way. While this is inevitable in old houses, it is difficult if you have allergies. Word of note: they like you to remove your shoes, so if you don't like the "house owned" slippers, don't forget to bring your own.

Wonderful stay

4,6 sur septembre 21, 2010

We had a wonderful stay at the Woodstocker Inn during early September 2010. Dora and David were very accomodating and sweet. The breakfast was lovely. The rooms are very modern and European. The rooms are very nice, but if you are looking for a quintissential 'New England' Inn, this is not it. It is a quick walk to downtown Woodstock, so it's a great location. We enjoyed our stay very much. Hope to be back someday!

Upon arriving at the Inn, we entered into a hallway painted in orange and purple and were quickly greeted by a jolly British man with a red Mohawk. Being a fairly young couple, we are not overly judgmental by appearances, but we were expecting someone older and more "conservative." David, the jolly Brit, greeted us and took us to the Chelsea room which we had reserved and gave us dinner suggestions. The Chelsea was exactly what we expected and we were excited about our stay. The room was spacious and the bathroom was incredible. We immediately turned on the lights in the tub and sink -very cool. After resting up, we took David's dinner suggestion and ate at the tavern located at the Woodstock Inn & Resort. The food was great. Later in the evening we used the tub and both agreed that that is was an extremely comfortable tub was easy to enter and exit. The only negative part of our stay was the bed. It felt as though two twin mattresses had been joined to create a king. We didn't find the bed comfortable, but were both able to get a good night's sleep. The next morning we went downstairs and were greeted by frenchpress coffee makers, yogurt, bread, juice, and several other breakfast items. All of these "buffet" items were excellent and would have been plenty for my wife. Dora arrived a few minutes later and took our order for our cooked to order breakfast. I ordered the "full monty" and my wife had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. We both found our meals tasty and perfect portions. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying at the Woodstocker again if our travels take us back to Woodstock.

We are appreciative of the positive comments these clients posted. As the result of the comments on our twin-zipped king mattress, which is featured in 2 rooms at the inn, we have today ordered 2 feather & goose down featherbed toppers to see if this might resolve the issue. They are the first clients in 5 years to express discomfort with this mattress style, and we are reassured that it did not effect their nights sleep.

The Perfect B&B for a Weekend Escape

4,4 sur septembre 18, 2010

My husband and I spent our first anniversary in Woodstock after discovering this lovely B&B online. Our expectations were more then met by the well-appointed room - we were upgraded! - and engaging conversation had with Dora and David. Daisy Doo was the perfect greeter. We envied D3's library and have decided we too will one day have side-by-side tubs in which to relax. The breakfast was delish, whether you just have toast with the homemade marmalade or go for the 'full monty'. Very peaceful setting both within and without this home. We will be making a return.

A real find

4,4 sur septembre 12, 2010

We had a lovely stay. This was such a refreshing change from all the floral scented Laura Ashley B&B's we have stayed in. While it was stylistically unique, it was also warm and welcoming. It was a place you looked forward to coming back to after a day touring or hiking and felt more like a home than an Inn. Plus where else can you get Kippers and eggs for breakfast as part of your room rate in Vermont?

4,6 sur septembre 05, 2010

We picked this great b and b because it was yellow, and therefore expected something a bit different from the usual New England band b experience. We got lucky! David and Dora were great hosts - thanks to them we enjoyed one of the best meals of the year at the local Pane et Salute restaurant. The rooms were clean and comfy and, best of all, lacking any beige or sprigged flower decor. There was choice of duvet or sheet and blanket. Breakfast was truly excellent - great coffee (made in the European style in a cafetiere),tea (from proper pots), scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, good bread, toast and preserves. Don't expect pancakes or waffles here, but the food won't disappoint. We will return! Alan, Linda, Dan and Stevie

A full soak bath and charming library - what could be better?

4,8 sur septembre 01, 2010

Had a wonderful time at the Woodstocker Inn. When we arrived the innkeepers gave us an unexpected upgrade. The room and especially the full-soak bathtub were luxurious. Everything spotless and the beds, duvet, and pillows couldn't have been more comfortable. Maybe because of the "eco" products the room had a wonderful smell, unlike the sanitary smell you often get in hotels. My husband and I particularly enjoyed the library, dining room, and 24 hour refreshment kitchen. Made us feel at home and not as though we had to remain cooped up in our rooms. We would have stayed the whole week had we had the time. The innkeepers were professional and personable at the same time. Helped us with dinner reservations and thoughtfully suggested I use the town library for a writing project. Couldn't have been a better experience

Peaceful, Decadent Luxury.

I was impressed by The Woodstocker Inn before I even arrived. In communicating with David by e-mail and phone during the reservation process, he was extremely friendly, flexible and accommodating in finding the right room and price for our night away to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival, David and Dora (and Daisy Doo) proved themselves to be truly personable and talented innkeepers. We stayed in Westminster. Much has been written about this room, and specifically its bathroom, with dual tubs and fantastic lighting. Suffice it to say that it is what all other bathrooms aspire to be. The bed was approximately football field-sized and extremely comfortable, particularly the glorious pillows. The room was extraordinarily clean (something I am a stickler for), quiet and cool, and we enjoyed the ability to listen to CDs on the combo player in the evening. The rest of the Inn is just as beautiful. We enjoyed the bright colors, natural wood beams, soft music, peaceful atmosphere, and complete absence of anything lace or floral. Breakfast was great, especially the homemade museli and the ability to make our own coffee as we pleased. David was good enough to take time out of his day to chat with us about our dream of running our own B&B one day, giving great insights and suggestions. We felt important and catered to without being smothered. Make no mistake: The Woodstocker is not an inexpensive place to stay. But trust me when I tell you that you get absolutely everything you pay for. My wife and I felt like royalty, which was a fantastic way to spend our anniversary. I cannot recommend this Inn highly enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you, D3.

We are delighted that we met this clients needs. As we have mentioned before, clients who have particular requirements just need to discuss these with us, and we will try our best to deliver the stay that they seek. We try and look after our guests in a discrete way and we seem on this occasion to achieved this. We truly believe we offer the best value in Woodstock village, our lodging is not just about price, but about service, amenities and having a social consciousness.

Whimsical, Nurturing Respite

4,2 sur août 30, 2010

From the capricious artifacts tucked in corners and displayed on walls, to the wonderful homemade muesli created by the in-house chefs, a stay at The Woodstocker is a delight. The Innkeepers are also extremely forgiving if one inadvertently breaks a wineglass or neglects to exchange street shoes for in-house slippers. We were treated extremely graciously by the three D's!

Great time, Great Inn

4,8 sur août 28, 2010

Took a trip to Vermont with a childhood friend and stayed in this lovely B&B. We were greeted by the ever-friendly Dora and immediately shown to a beautiful room, which included luxury towels and chocolates. Whether you are visiting VT for a week or a weekend, this is the place to go. You may decide to enjoy a meal at Simon Pearce, walk around Woodstock, or relax in the library or garden at the Inn. Either way, you can't go wrong. The home is beautiful and the service is impeccable. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

The Best Breakfast (and Library)

5 sur août 23, 2010

Best breakfast ever at an inn, probably because it's an English breakfast prepared and served by your English hosts. You can even have lamb kidneys and kippers if you desire (otherwise most everything else you might desire for a more typical morning meal). Our room was lovely (though if the weather had been even warmer I'm not sure our air conditioner would have functioned adequately). The library is stocked with books far more interesting than usual (because it's the owners' personal library and not the usual lowbrow books left by tourists). And the town is pretty and sophisticated and has plenty of places for dinner (you won't want much lunch after that breakfast). Heartily recommended in all regards.

Chic meets traditional without conflict.

5 sur août 16, 2010

My son and I stayed here while on a college tour and we were both impressed with the colorful decor, the artistic flair, the incredibly comfortable beds and linens, the huge library, and the fabulous breakfast. Everything was exceptionally clean. The bath products are made locally and organically and I liked the little wedge of soap at the sink. I didn't feel wasteful. My son particularly liked the abundance of candy and host David's hair, not to mention the delicious breakfast meats (blood sausage, anyone?). There was also lots of healthy and fresh food, served on snowy white linen. I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, served with just the right touch of fresh herbs, but I was equally interested in the muesli. I liked those French coffee presses! They made me feel useful and worldly. The hosts are fun and enthusiastic. It's really a great place; a bright little gem.

Not for vegetarians

3,0 sur août 11, 2010

Because I do not eat meat, I was disappointed in the Woodstocker Inn. The breakfasts had sausage, bacon, baked beans. Things I don't eat. Dora made me eggs, but when I go to a B&B, I expect more than eggs (pancakes, waffles, muffins). I do think they could have done more to satisfy my needs - when you are paying this much for a B&B, breakfast should be much more luxurious - and varied to satisfy everyone's needs. Other than that, the Inn was lovely, very clean and well cared for. Dora and David - and Daisy - were very nice. Location was also good - just a few minutes outside of town.

Réponse du propriétaire
It concerns us that this client felt our vegetarian selection to be poor. We do not believe that we were aware of the strict vegetarian requirement prior to arrival? Had we been we could have discussed more fully what was required for breakfast, as we love to offer a personal product at the inn. Our European style breakfast is something we strive to be different with, and thus we do not offer muffins/pancakes/French toast etc. If you look at our website and read reviews we believe this information comes across. Our British heritage is not to eat rich baked goods for breakfast and thus our inn reflects us. Our Heinz baked beans are 100% vegetarian and imported from the UK, as we found most US canned beans do indeed contain meat extracts. David cooks all food fresh to order and will happily prepare omlettes or eggs any style. In order for any client to have their expectation met, we do need to be told what they are seeking.

Very comfortable room, nice amenities. Breakfast was so-so. Wasn't happy about the bother of making my own french press coffee. The hospitality & friendliess were outstanding, however.

We are disappointed that these clients felt making their own coffee was a chore. Most clients enjoy being able to make organic fair trade coffee, to their own taste requirements when ever they want. Our European style breakfast & drink selection is vast, freshly prerpared and we believe a cafetiere only adds to our dining experience.

Cool & Eclectic

5 sur août 01, 2010

We stayed for two-nights during a Bike Vermont cycling trip. The inn is quirky, well designed and green in the ecological sense. The screaming yellow exterior paint job & the bright green shutters gives it a wild look, but I like it tremendously. The food is excellent and plentiful. A quick tour of my fellow riders' rooms showed the eclectic nature of the inn, as each is different in many ways. The most far out is the room with the red bathtub & sink, both illuminated from within. The industrial diamond-tread steel flooring in the bathroom is also very cool. We plan to return. Dora & David are especially nice, concerned folks, whose commitment to being green shows in everything they do. I never met Daisy Doo, but I expect she is a very nice dog indeed.

A Great Break

4,6 sur juillet 18, 2010

We spent one night at the Woodstocker on our way from Montreal to Boston, just to break the trip. Our accomodations were lovely, the breakfast was great(being a slow food advocate, i was especially impressed) and Dora and David were perfect hosts. Daisy made herself scarce but I'm sure she also would have been gracious.

Artistic and charming B&B attends to very detail for your comfort.

5 sur juillet 08, 2010

David and Dora were charming and interesting hosts, and not intrusive. Food was spectacular: eg. two choices of sausage, salmon, Canadian bacon, mushroom and tomato, with local eggs. Cold buffet offered delicious raspberry and cherry compote (the best, not too sweet and slightly fermented) with organic yogurt. The best bread for toasting was offered daily! Kitchenette offered around-the-clock tea and coffee service, snack bar with wonderful lemon cake and little candy bars and fridge (handy for your dinner leftovers). Bed was comfortable (king with numerous pillows, duvet and duvet cover.) We had a spectacular red tiled shower and bath. Eclectic large library with three comfortable chairs was an unexpected treat! Walls throughout were wonderfully colored with original art (owners were previously in publishing for childrens' books in UK.) B&B was well-situated for walks downtown and there was a nearby park for mountainous hikes if desired. A dairy bar down the road by car for your daily homemade ice cream fix included picnic tables on a small beach for wading in the river. There were many historical local sites and museums. It was a short drive to Dartmouth, numerous ski slopes (eg. Killington, Pico Peak), a gorge and waterfall and Simon Pierce glassblowing factory.

A perfect place to stay in beautiful Woodstock

4,6 sur juin 27, 2010

I really couldn't fault The Woodstocker. The decor is superb, the breakfast delicious and bountiful, and the hosts are fun, friendly and very welcoming. We stayed in the beautiful Westminster room with its amazing bathroom and twin tubs and great lighting. The location is perfect - a 10 minute stroll into Woodstock town centre via a covered bridge and there are also a number of great country walks that are easily accessible from the property. Most of all though it is the hosts - Dora and David - and their wonderful dog Daisy Doo, who really make this such a special and unique place to stay.

So great, I returned two days later

5 sur juin 13, 2010

The Woodstocker Inn is an absolutely fabulous find in Woodstocker. The Inn has a wonderfully airy, chic and eclectic decor plus fantastic whirlpool tubs with jets that are the best I've ever experienced. The bed was so comfortable that I slept soundly for the first time in weeks, and the hearty and slightly British breakfast fare is delicious (try the sausages and organic Stonyfield yogurt). The proprietors David and Dora and Daisy Doo too! are charming, fun to talk to, generous and helpful to boot. I love that they are "foodies" and living an "organic" lifestyle (note Stonyfield yogurt and Seventh Generation paper products). They are such pros at running a top-notch Inn. David turned "50" during my stay and left US a bottle of bubbly to help him celebrate. I loved the Woodstocker so much that after staying at the Woodstocker over the weekend to run a half-marathon, I literally returned two days later and stayed for two nights! I hate to tell too many people because I really want it all for myself (-:

We heartily recommend the Woodstocker Inn.

We heartily recommend the Woodstocker Inn in the historic village of Woodstock, VT . Our return in May 2010 repeated our happy experience of a year before when our older daughter and son-in-law reserved the B&B for an intimate family wedding. Once again we thoroughly enjoyed the quirky decoration of the impeccably maintained guestrooms and the substantial breakfasts of delicious organic foods. Transplanted English hosts Dora and David are happy to share their knowledge of local history and events. They provide a cordial welcome and lively but discreet conversation seasoned with a good sense of humor. Their commitment to environmentally- responsible policies heightened our appreciation and enjoyment. Both the Woodstocker and the village are well worth a trip.

Amazingly unique New England B+B

My sister and I came to the Woodstock for the Covered Bridges Half Marathon, and stayed at the Woodstocker Inn. In a word, this B+B is UNIQUE. I cannot praise this B+B enough, except to say that I will definitely be back. Highly, highly recommended, and worth the price.

Our Stay at the Woodstocker Inn (4/30/10 to 5/2/10) Oh! What a wonderfully sumptuous sin To enjoy a stay at the Woodstocker Inn. To lounge within its bright yellow walls Far away from Boston's traffic stalls, Was to leave all stodgy urban formality And embrace true European hospitality. In the well stocked library you can sit, And enjoy an array of diverse lit. Or if fine food is your only true forte There's a very hearty breakfast entree: Be foist upon your own ravenous petard And take the challenge of the fat bastard. Have a matter that's none too trivial? Take it up with your keepers convivial. David, Dora, and scrappy Daisy-Doo Are a helpful and truly delightful crew. They'll gladly entertain any criticism With cheer and ironic British witticism. About many topics they're world-wise: From geopolitics to cooked pork pies. Overall, we revelled in our short stay, And look to another Woodstocker holiday.

Dora and David are lovely hosts that truly cater to your every need - making you a warm breakfast in the morning, providing any and all information about things to do in Woodstock and even giving ideas about other trips to take. They clearly love the Inn and their jobs and make your stay as comfortable as can be. The Inn is clean, cozy and provides almost any amenity you could want. I left the Inn feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and happy. I would go back to the Woodstocker Inn at any chance I get. It was an absolutely wonderful weekend.

Great Vermont Inn!

4,6 sur février 23, 2010

My fiance and I wanted to find a B&B or Inn in Vermont that was charming, but perhaps not covered in floral. Our room was the Richmond, and it was perfect. Very modern with bright colors and sleek design, but also very much like being in a home. The airbath in the Richmond was amazing, as well. They also leave out candy bars, some beverages, a bit of aromatherapy oil, and our room had a shelf with cds on books that we enjoyed all weekend. Also, upon entering the room, the innkeepers had some music playing, so the atmosphere was very inviting and relaxing. They also have a great library which we enjoyed as well. Several comfy chairs, great lighting, and again some soft music playing. Also, you can grab a snack from the nearby kitchen at any time during your stay. Breakfast in the morning was superb. The dining room has a large shelf equipped with many cookbooks, so we could already tell that the breakfast was probably going to amazing. They have a short menu on the table waiting for you in the morning, but you can make up your own creation as well and they cook it fresh after speaking with you. Also, there is a great yogurt station with yogurt, granola, and a yummy fruit compote. Another refreshing part of breakfast is that you get your own french press, and they serve tasty, and strong, organic coffee. The breakfast itself has ingredients from local farms, including a wonderful assortment of sausages. But, if you're a vegetarian, there is plenty to choose from. The innkeepers are very friendly as well, and upon meeting them on the first day, they remember small things you may have mentioned in passing on the phone. Also, they are willing to call many local places to check the conditions, or let you use their phone (reception can be spotty) to make reservations. We were able to walk into town, and also to hiking trails. Overall, I loved it. I would definitely recommend it, and I would stay there again.

The Woodstocker Inn was a very warm, super clean, cozy and comfortable place to stay. The innkeepers were exceptionally friendly and breakfast was great! This is a lovely old home that has been given a new personality by it's very friendly owners. All of the rooms are decorated in a mix of antique finds and more modern touches where it counts. The beds, sheets, towels and robes are all organic cozy cotton. We had a restful sleep after spending some time out and about hiking, only to return to the inn and settle in by the little wood stove with some great books (the owners were in publishing) some wine and cheese. Breakfast in morning is outstanding. Made to order eggs and all sorts of extras like sausages and salmon, tomatos. We left well fed, rested and would recommend this inn to any adults visiting the area.

Great girlfriend's relaxing getaway!

4,6 sur février 16, 2010

We had a great stay at Woodstocker Inn. A girlfriends getaway for relaxation and regrouping without the men around, the location was the perfect spot for such needed downtime. Inn keepers were great - really friendly, great stories if you felt like chatting (coincidentally they helped inform plans for our group's next vacation as they'd been there), and their dog Daisy was adorable! Our room was adorable - Shaftesbury, w/ 2 double beds with warm beading and pilllows - and so so cozy. We loved walking back into it every time we returned. From the dog dish w/ the Snicker's bar (for late night snack) to the plush robes - how could you not be in heaven! The Inn itself is vibrant and cozy - not the more formal, traditional decor of some VT inns. More contemporary, definitely more my style and comfort. Spent the days doing activities close by (running, snow shoeing hike up to South Peak via the Woodstock Inn's activity center rentals, who by the way, were also delightful people), and managed to get some downtown shopping and lunch in as well. Dinner at Bentleys was delicious, and we looked forward to returning to the Inn for pot of tea / snacks (available & complimentary at all times in a kitchenette off the library) and a little reading in the library before bed. Breakfast was one of the best things about this place - all included, great small menu to choose from although I think they'd make whatever you want if they had it available (the menu was British, which in my opinion, the Brits GET breakfast), and local breads / coffees / teas / yogurt and home-made goodies offered as well. It was truly delightful. The local and home-made food was just delicious, don't always get that kind of offering back in Boston. Definitely will return, either with small group of friends or loved one, a very deserved low key weekend that was so very needed! Thank you, the 3 D's!

Two New Table Makers say...

5 sur février 15, 2010

We had the absolutely best weekend ever. First we drive up to a bright yellow home, our first clue that the innkeepers were courageously whacky and wise. THEY WERE! It's such a happy atmosphere. The food was outstanding. Great snacks/tea/coffee were available round the clock. David, kindly offered advice about all things construction, when we told him we were building a home in Montana. We slept like logs...maybe not such a pretty image but it sure FELT good. THEN we ate at a specially constructed table that David made in conjunction with Charles Shackleton--Number 1, in fact--as we set out to make our own Number 56! Great People, Great Times. Great Comfort. And if you're organically inclined, so much the better. Their inn may be yellow but the hearts that guide it are green. Deborah and John Rogers Stay here.

Return Business

4,8 sur janvier 23, 2010

The Woodstocker Inn continues to thrive in during this trying economy due to the fact that it provides its patrons with a value that is disproportionately higher than the actual money paid. My wife and I visited Dora and David (and Daisy Doo) MLK weekend. We have stayed at many BnBs in our day but always find our way back to the Woodstocker Inn. This last weekend reminded us of why this is so. The inn had been improved since we had last visited (which amazed us as we already thought the inn to be perfection) with the addition of a wood stove and outside French doors. David and Dora welcomed us warmly and catered to our every whim. The breakfast menu was expanded with an even greater selection of European styled dishes. The breakfast alone is worth booking with the inn. All of the foods offered are prepared fresh to order and most are organic and/or purchased from local vendors. The rooms themselves are maintained impeccibly and are appointed in a style that combines European sensibility with rustic New England charm. The inn also stands out for the ammenities that are provided - luxurious robes, hand made duvet covers, complimentary chocolates, and goodies that can be had, day or night, in their small guest kitchen. David and Dora are model hosts who combine stellar personalities with consumate professionalism. They are both a pleasure to converse with but also they possess a keen awareness of when a private conversation is desired. Overall, our experience at the inn reminded us as to why we always find our way back to Woodstock. To book with any other bed and breakfast would be to accept second best.

Quiet, fun, non-traditional New England at it's best!

4,6 sur janvier 19, 2010

A great, quirky place to stay. The service was the best part. It's like the innkeepers thought of everything before I did! Great location for those looking for something different and special in their trip to New England. European influence can be seen in everything from the food and decor to the books you can borrow in the library.

Charming, eclectic Inn with fab hospitality & service!

4,8 sur janvier 10, 2010

We stayed at the Woodstocker Inn for one night between Christmas and New Year after a New York visit. We chose the Chester room, which was perfect for our needs, warm comfortable and spacious (bigger than the pictures on the website suggested). The bed in particular was very comfortable due to a selection of pillows according to your preferences. The decor throughout is charming, eclectic and full of character - we loved it! As you'd expect, the standard of cleanliness was perfect also. After booking we communicated with the owners, Dora and David, via email and they were incredibly helpful with information and tips, and recommended an attraction which actually turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip - Hot Air Ballooning in Vermont. Upon arriving we were given a very warm welcome by Dora and David again - and were very pleased to meet their charming dog, Daisy!! We were happy to spend a few hours in the Inn relaxing and using the guest facilities such as tea and coffee in the library and eating some of the delicious snacks snucked away in various tempting locations! We particularly enjoyed the home-made fruit cake!! We had a fabulous stay and took recommendations on where to eat for our evening meal, after which we spent some time chatting with David in front of the log stove in the main living area - the owners really are very friendly and hospitable! On the morning of our departure we went hot air ballooning and David was incredibly accommodating on providing us with a perfect (and warming!) English breakfast upon our return. It was truly delicious and my fiance was delighted to eat some proper sausages (David and Dora are members of the UK Sausage Appreciation Society)! They were without doubt the best sausages we have ever had, which is impressive considering we were in Vermont and not back home in the UK! Overall we would highly recommend you visit, and we would love to return and spend a little more time here.

These folks were charming and had just recently got engaged.....which made my attention all the more important....cos' they gave me some of the AMAZING sausage that the inn is famous for! They have good taste as we BOTH appreciate the finer things in life....sausages! Also hot air ballooning on a winters days sounds quiet magical......

D3 stands for David, Dora and Daisy the Diplomat! Daisy will walk up and stop before each person seated at a table to give them the opportunity to pet her or say hello before moving on to the next person at the next table. She is as charming a hostess as her humans! A well-trained dog and a well-run inn. Who could ask for anything more!

Safe haven on a cold winter's night!

After being locked out of our friend's house, my boyfriend and I found ourselves with nowhere to stay on New Year's Day evening. We stumbled upon the Woodstocker on our GPS search for lodging. After calling several places, some of which didn't answer the phone, were booked or too expensive we decided to give the Woodstocker a shot. We were so pleasantly surprised and impressed by the awesome layout, comfortable rooms and living spaces and the way D3 instantly made us feel right at home. At first we had arrived and just wanted to go to bed, but the place was so intriguing, we were energized by the atmosphere and stayed up a few more hours browsing the bookshelves and curling up reading in the inviting chairs by the Christmas tree. Everything was so tastefully done in the entire Inn. I loved the use of organic products, luxurious linens and towels, and lovely decorating. David and Dora were great hosts and the breakfast couldn't have been better! I so wish we could have stayed longer. A truly amazing sanctuary. Thank you!

Review of THe Woodstocker Inn during Dec., 2009

5 sur janvier 04, 2010

We recently stayed at this lovely B&B. Our room was very clean and gourmet breakfast in a.m. was superb (mostly organic). Dora and David are very personable people and made our stay even more comfortable. They make an excellent fruitcake for everyone to dip into during the day, with free drinks. Daisy Doo was a sweetie pie and a great greeter to all of us.

Best place to stay in Woodstock/Vermont

We are from Germany and experienced travellers throughout the world. During Indian Summer 2009 we travelled and hiked through New England. This was definetely the best place we stayed in 2 weeks. The hospitality was truly outstanding and we enjoyed spending a couple of hours in the well equipped library. If we would go to New England again, we wont miss to go there again !

would have liked coffee and a better shower

3,2 sur décembre 03, 2009

Owners were very friendly and helpful. Shower was terrible! and there was no way to make coffee before breakfast at 8:30.

Réponse du propriétaire
We are disappointed that this client did not alert us to the shower spray power whilst they were staying with us. The water in Woodstock has a lot of calcium, and the two showerheads were becoming blocked. It takes only five minutes to soak them in a calcium (lemon juice) remover which we have now done, and they are back to full performance. The client also seems to have misunderstood how our electric kettle works. Hot water is available 24 hours a day, you simply need to fill the kettle with water and flick a switch!

Its definitely an awesome place to stay!

4,6 sur décembre 03, 2009

We were very nicely welcomed by the hosts, David and Dora. The place was very neat and pleasant to stay :)..the breakfast was good too. Regarding the rooms, they are very reasonable and pretty much worth it although the bed in our room was very uncomfortable to sleep ( was a double 2 bed). Great library and kitchen where you can make your own coffee and cocoa milk.

“Awesome Woodstocker Inn is an 'off-the-hook' boutique inn!

5 sur décembre 01, 2009

The Woodstocker Inn is a fabulous inn with incredible hospitality from innkeepers David and Dora. Simply, the integrity of hospitality is evident from the moment you step into the inn and ring the bell for the innkeepers. The decor is modern with vibrant colors, the cuisine is local, organic and expertly prepared (ncludes press pot coffee), and the atmosphere is laid back with a library filled with a diverse collection of books and cds for your listening pleasure. Hospitality with a green/organic attitude is much appreciated; the inn is immaculate. Lastly, the charm and wit of the innkeepers is marvelous. ----- Martha and David, Brooklyn, NY

A perfect funky Vermont getaway

5 sur novembre 27, 2009

This is not your typical antiquer's B&B. We loved the modern decor, especially our crazy red bathroom with light-up tub. No old fogies sitting around, but a gorgeous library with tons of books to look through, ranging from classics to children's books to travel guides to wacky things you've never heard of. Dave and Dora were fantastic, providing excellent restaurant advice, directions, some great stories, and as much casual chatting as we wanted. They catered to the sausage-lover as well as the vegetarian, gave us extra chocolate when they saw how much we loved it, and even gave us a snack for the road when we left. The breakfast was delicious and huge, and the always-available tea, coffee and homemade cake was perfect - no cheap stuff here. Daisy the dog was friendly but unobtrusive. We have decided to revisit on a regular basis.

Complete Lack of Lace and Florals!

4,6 sur novembre 18, 2009

We knew we had chosen well when we received warm and professional email correspondence from the Innkeepers. We were blown away when we arrived to a bright, comfortable, pleasant and CONTEMPORARY B&B with friendly and funny hosts, large rooms, and countless extra touches that ensure we will come back for more (and tell all our friends). Never have we felt so welcome and at home. The hosts are incredibly accommodating (I'm pregnant and gluten-free) without being overbearing or too present. The BREAKFAST is remarkable! Fresh, delicious, local and organic when possible, and plenty of everything. I cannot say enough about this eco friendly and socially conscious Inn. Not your ordinary "lace and doily" B&B! The only regret we have is not being able to stay longer, or come back sooner. We need more like this.

A Beautiful Piece of Heaven

This was my first time staying at a B & B and the experience was awesome! Our hosts Dora and Dave very gracious and welcoming-Daisy Doo was special too. I felt relaxed-like it was my home away from home. The library was my favorite place-sipping coffee and reading while still in my jamies! The rooms were everything the web site and travel books described-slept like a baby both nights. Food was excellent and elegant-felt like a 5 star dining room. I pray I can return someday soon and maybe stay a bit longer!! I'd recommend Woodstocker to everyone!!! Thanks for making my experience so wonderful! Karen Gardenhire Marina, CA

during my enjoyable stay at the Woodstocker Inn I lost a screw from my spectacles. I enquired from the the owner re the nearest optician, explaining my predicament. He very kindly assisted me by using a glasses screw which he had recently found and put my glasses together for the duration of my holiday. I was very impressed with this help. He also gave us a recommendation for a restaurant in Montreal which we went to and loved. The breakfast was really good but the bed was a little squeeky. Overall though we had a very enjoyable experience here and wou;d return should the opportunity arise.

Also, check out the inn's library--it's a wonderful place to spend a rainy day!

Perfect Vermont B&B

A very unique inn with incredibly warm and entertaining innkeepers. I love the decor which is warm and cozy, quite eclectic, with a fantastic selection of books and travel guides. The breakfasts were outstanding and the room was very, very comfortable. David and Dora are very interesting people, very kind and accommodating, but not at all invasive. And of course I loved meeting Daisy too. All in all it offered all of the things I like about bed and breakfasts without any of the drawbacks. I look forward to my next visit.

By the time we got to....

5 sur octobre 28, 2009

By the time we got to Woodstock we were weary after a six hour drive from Cape Cod so it was good to have the warmest of welcomes from David and Dora and be shown to the very relaxing Cambridge Room, loved the restored floorboards. We took a peek at some of the other rooms and wondered at the individual styling, some of the rooms just make you smile. Breakfasts are fab and are served in a great room, not unlike our own live-in kitchen in England, with the kind of big tables that enable you to spread out the morning paper . You can help yourself to tea coffee and cold drinks from a neat kitchen and sit in the cosy lounge, which houses an interesting collection of books. There is a jar in the kitchen full of sweet treats which you might raid occasionally or every evening in my case. So, if you are heading for Vermont, stay at the Woodstocker Inn, it's a fine place.

A fun and wonderful place to stay in Woodstock

4,4 sur octobre 23, 2009

I stayed with Dave and Dora a couple of years ago at the Woodstocker and was so taken by the creative decor of the place and the earnest friendliness of Dave and Dora that when I returned to Woodstock this month for a seminar, I decided not only to book again at the Woodstocker but to bring my wife with me. What a wonderful time. The breakfasts are awesome, ranging from homemade granola, yogurt and compote to salmon or sausage and eggs. Treats are placed all about the house for the taking. But best of all, Dave and Dora are truly friendly people who are fun to chat with. They've traveled the world and seem to have seen and done it all. They recommended some very nice restaurants that we also liked and that were in keeping with the eclectic flare of the Woodstocker. You'll love it!

5 sur octobre 19, 2009

Without a doubt the BEST B&B we have stayed in. The location is great, a short walk into beautiful Woodstock or a hike up Mount Tom, and anywhere in Vermont seems to be an easy drive. We stayed in the Westminster room which was sheer luxury, if Vermont wasn't so beautiful we'd have never left the room! Breakfast was a real treat for me, firstly it was nice to have a varied menu and secondly to have a proper cooked breakfast, I've never understood cakes for breakfast! Give me a proper sausage, with eggs and bacon every time. Possibly the best thing though was the hosts, David & Dora were great, nothing was too much trouble and Davids' advice every morning was brilliant. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. We will definitely be back.

A Funky Inn in Woodstock

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Woodstocker and could not have been more pleased! The Woodstocker is SO CLEAN and they use eco-friendly products too. Breakfast was available every morning (hot & cold); the homemade muesli and fruit compote was sooo good! We were within walking distance of town and across the street from the Woodstocker was the Woodstock Community Center where you could work out for $5 a day. Dora and David are lovely people and made the whole stay an absolute pleasure! The Woodstocker is inviting yet funky and eclectic and we will be going back as "Leafers" for many years to come!!

Well clean is the only way to be is it not? Anything less is simply unacceptable. My Dad spends hours on his hands and knees much so he has holes in his jeans! The inn also tries hard in it's own small way to not add to the environmental excesses. Me I tend to sleep and watch him.....and have yet to try out the Recreation Center...but it does have amazing workout rooms and is just opposite the inn.

An instant favorite of ours. From the moment we were greeted by the inn's sweet dog (adopted at age eight, which says something wonderful about the values of the owners) to our departure after a delicious English breakfast, we truly loved our stay. We stayed in the dramatic Chelsea room, which was aesthetically gorgeous yet also extremely comfortable, and enjoyed an array of organic products from the citrus shower gels to plush robes. The owners achieved the difficult balance between privacy and warmth, between whimsy and earnest concern for improving the world. I wish I were there right now!

It is my second time at the Woodstocker and i love it. There is even a very impressive collection of books, not to mention the home made fruit compote for breakfest!

Wow! What a great experience at the Woodstocker Inn. 8th Bike trip to area and I have stayed at many b&b's and this one was at the very top in all catagories. Well we appreciate the fact that our inn is seen by many as the antidote to the 'pink floral doilyfied frills and lace' of many New England inns and has again been so well received. The Chelsea room is 'chillaxed' and you either love it or you don' middle ground here! We are also are pleased that Daisy Doo has made yet another impression upon a client, for she is a sweet rescue hound who we love very much.

For those looking for the quintessential Vermont experience, I highly recommend The Woodstocker Inn. It's run by two British people who couldn't be more charming - they are helpful without being obtrusive and cook a delicious breakfast. It really is a must for anyone looking for a taste of England in Vermont - if one didn't know any better, you'd think you were staying in the English countryside...

We'd never previously stayed at B&B, always preferring a bigger hotel, but staying at the Woodstocker will make us think twice in future. Spotlessly clean, lovely house with modern and individually designed rooms. Hosts were friendly, welcoming and happy to answer queries without ever being too over bearing. We spent a lovely hour in the library without being disturbed by other guests or host. Nice walk into town which was lovely, a few restaurants but quite expensive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was outstanding. The 2 bath tubs, the skylight and the little blue lights made our experience very relaxing. The modern look of the room was exactly what we were looking for. We truly appreciated the no “outdoor shoes” and no kids policy. Having kids of our owns spending time away from kids was great. The location couldn't be better--within easy walking distance of the village. Breakfast…mmm were delicious… Loved Dora’s granola and fruit compote. Love all of the it… the sausage was also very good.. All in all, we had a great stay and are already planning our return visit to the Woodstocker. Hit the jackpot!

4,8 sur août 02, 2009

On our first trip to Vermont, we decided to try our first B&B, and we certainly hit the jackpot! Over the phone while making reservations, Dora's voice made me picture a prim, proper, gray-hair-in-bun (it must have been the retired British info!) but boy, what a lively, young, warm, lovely hostess! When we arrived after a long day's travel with a terrible rainstorm, she made sure we were welcomed and all set in our quarters. Cozy yet not stuffy, spacious yet not sterile, the Woodstocker is a treat. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, lovely fresh air from the window for restful summer sleep.... We were lucky to be able to stay multiple nights, yet still hated to leave. David's hot breakfasts started off the days with satisfied stomachs (our only regret for that is waiting 'til 8:30 to eat when we had to leave earlier). Daisy is a dear, and the entire experience was a delight. We definitely plan to return some day -- too bad we're a day's drive away! Thank you, David & Dora, for you kindnesses, warm hospitality, and prompt attention to our needs. Keep up the wonderful work, especially with your green awareness for recycling, organics, and local fare.

Four of us (two rooms) stayed with D3 for only one night during drive from NY to Montreal in July 2009. First impression was the warm but down to earth welcome and our immediately feeling we were with people who cared and were friendly. Rooms were spacious, very clean and 'green'. After dinner out, we relaxed in the lounge and could have been at home - very calm and comfortable. Breakfast was very good - and especially the surprise we had in watching American guests working out how to make real coffee in the plungers! Thoroughly recommend The Woodstocker - but if you can, stay more than one night. MJB and H.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the spot.

Refreshingly Different

5 sur juillet 13, 2009

The Woodstocker Inn is refreshingly different from the typical bed and breakfast experience. The interior decor is filled with cheerfulness and whimsey, and all rooms are comfortable, clean, and spotless. The location is on the edge of town, a short and easy walk to the business district. Hosts Dora, David, with dog Daisy make sure that you are most welcomed, and offer a British sense of humor that is so rare to find in The States. We took in the amazingly fresh air, mild temperatures, sunshine, sights and sounds, and really didn't want to leave. We have found a home away from home in Woodstock Vermont.

C to the 4th Power: Comfortable, Caring, Cozy and Congenial

4,2 sur juillet 08, 2009

I fell in love at first sight, well even before that. David and Dora have created a Green Inn that flourishes under their nurturing care. Everything about the Inn conveys a total interest in the well-being of each guest. The beds are comfortable, linens and towels are fluffy and soft, the French press coffee pots, teas and lemon drizzle cake available at all times in the Guest kitchen are tempting and a delight to one's palate. And this leads to their abundant and beautifully presented breakfast offerings. It's difficult to leave the table, especially since the envirnment is so conducive to congenial conversation. The Woodstocker Inn is a place where I would always return, and that's what I did this year, my second year there. It is a wonderful home away from home. One more very important aspect of the way David and Dora manage their Inn ~~~ they respond to guest suggestions while at the same time upholding the integrity of being a Green Inn. Bravo! David and Dora! And, Thank You.

Always A Pleasure

Dora, David and Daisy Doo, (the Dog) have to be the most welcoming and pleasant hosts ever. They, like the Inn itself, are lovely and welcoming, fresh and vibrant. Coffee, Tea and soda are available all day long and breakfast is exceptional. If you are a fan of Full English Breakfasts you will be wonderfully surprised, David prepares extraordinary sausages and pudding all organic and the eggs are laced with fresh herbs. You are invited to brew your own coffee to your liking using individual French Press brewers and there is an amazing assortment of cold breakfast items as well. The rooms are fresh and clean, they are modern and unpretentious, just like Dora and David. LOVELY!

The location in Woodstock is excellent, across the street from the local playhouse, and within easy walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. The rooms are contemporary, but exceedingly comfortable. The common areas are great for relaxing with a book or a drink. The Innkeepers cooked an excellent made to order breakfast, and were very helpful in recommending places to eat and visit in the area. Decor-wise a nice departure from the typical old fashioned inn, but service wise very much in keeping with the home away from home feel.

We had a lovely time! David and Dora are charming and the perfect hosts. The room was comfortable, the breakfast and sitting rooms well appointed, and the food was amazing. We hope to be back soon!!

Clean and lovely

Would definitely return to the Woodstocker Inn. Just to list a few of the things we liked: - overall very friendly service - sheets, towels etc fresh and organic - spacious, clean, warm place with lots of details to make you feel at home (e.g. great library, and loved meeting Daisy - the new dog) -breakfast was yummy (mmm!)

Return Visitor - Will Always Come Back

4,8 sur juin 12, 2009

This is our third stay at the Woodstocker, and David and Dora never let us down. Our room is fantastic and relaxing, the inn is extremely clean and comfortable, and the made-to-order breakfast is the BEST!

Fabulous Stay!

4,8 sur juin 11, 2009

We stayed one night at the Woodstocker Inn. It was perfect! Dave Dora and the dog were wonderful hosts. I loved the room, the bathroom, the breakfast room, the library. Everything was cheery, intimate and perfect. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. The walk into town was easy and great. I can't wait to stay there again.

Great B&B

European Adventure in VT

4,0 sur mai 27, 2009

While last minute and a later hour in the evening - David took my reservation via telephone and remained informative and patient telling me the Inns details. When I arrived to check in, Dora greeted me cheerfully and offered plenty of dinner ideas that were easy to walk to in town- which took me past many Lilac bushes and through a covered bridge. I enjoyed the stroll, I enjoyed my local fare and I enjoyed my surprise the next morning... A grande, easy going, plentiful breakfast! Nothing makes me happier than a clean bathroom (very) and an outstanding breakfast and I received both! Breakfast was great with plenty of options - all organic, all fabulous! The service was impeccable and I surely hope to return soon!

Friendly, interesting, character

Not a cookie cutter B and B; comfortable and with its very own personality. Little touches to bring comfort to guests. Would certainly like to return.

Excellent home away from home

Always have been very hard for me to stay in any place.I have been very worried about the place to be clean. I have stayed in very expensive hotels because of the nature of my prof. I have never seen na place as clean as Woodstuker Inn. When my friend and I checked in, David asked us to take our shoes off, right there I felt they must be clean to not walk around the place with outside shoes. You will not believe my friend walked around the whole building with white socks and end of the day his socks were still white. About the owners Dora and David I can not tell you enough, I have never seen kind, simple and loving couple like them. Every corner of this place gives you a warme fealling. The bench and the table in the porch infront of living room was our night time treat. I will be going there very often.

Wonderful 2 Night stay!

4,4 sur mai 20, 2009

We stayed in the "Bradford" room which was spacious and well kept. The hand made stone tub was very beautiful and surprisingly comfortable. We sat at the "chef's table" (which we definitely recommend!) where we recieved a great breakfast (tried lambs kidneys!), great service, and great conversation. Dora and David were exceptional hosts. We also frequented the library which was very peaceful and quiet and had a wide selection of books. Before leaving we were given a tour and it was easy to see how passionate David was about the Inn. We cannot wait to return, and next time we will try the room with the two tubs! (the picture definitely does not do this bathroom justice! It is beautiful!) Thank you David and Dora for such a wonderul stay and we are excited to come again!

April in Vermont

5 sur mai 03, 2009

The first time we stayed at this lovely inn was in the fall of 2006. I read an article in the globe featuring the b and b and wanted to give it a try. I was attracted to the modern, colorful decor of the inn. I can't describe in words why I can't get enough of the inn. Dora and David are such friendly and gracious hosts. There is a large emphasis on using local ingredients and maintaining sustainable practices which includes the use of unbleached napkins, organic locally-made soap, linens produced from recycled fibers and breakfasts featuring eggs from the farm down the street. They offer free Wi-Fi and a fantastic assortment of DVDs, such as Snatch, My House in Umbria or Sliding Doors. When you come to the Woodstocker, you feel as if you are at home. The focus of our trip this time around was to visit various cheese farms in the area, especially the goat farms. Dora was kind enough to recommend several farms in Woodstock, such as the water buffalo farm (1 of 3 in the U.S.) as well as several goat farms in the Middlebury area. She went as far as to print a colored copy of the cheese trail map for our reference. We had such a wonderful stay and can't wait to return for our next visit soon!

Gracious Hospitality

Spring at the Woodstocker Inn

4,4 sur avril 19, 2009

We had a lovely stay with Dora and David at the Woodstocker Inn this weekend. The Woodstocker is a perfect place to stay for people who are looking for a fresh, very clean, modern B&B with attention paid to being green. All of the comforts of home (including the no shoes policy which is actually really comfy!) We really enjoyed the European touches like french press coffee and english breakfast and the fun demeanor of our British hosts. The libraries are relaxing and full of interesting reads. We stayed in the Westminster room which was worth the cost for the luxury of side by side claw foot soaking tubs under a skylight. For those who have never been to Woodstock, the Woodstocker Inn has a great location. A wonderful little walk to the main street area through a covered bridge and a short walk to the trails that lead to the top of Mt. Tom- an excellent way to start the day!

Christmas in Woodstock

4,8 sur mars 12, 2009

A short walk to the Woodstock green from the Woodstocker Inn, a crowd gathered around a huge bonfire to sing Christmas carols while revelers dressed in colonial costumes played music. The atmosphere was festive, both on the green and at the Woodstocker Inn, where the library was bedecked with a decorated tree and tea and cookies offered themselves in the adjacent kitchen. Our room was just across the hall, a huge space with a loveseat, queen-size bed and en suite bath big enough to dance in, organic cotton robes waiting to warm us after a hot shower. But the best treat awaited us in the morning, a sumptuous English breakfast with locally produced sausage and eggs, English jams, fresh fruit, and all the coffee or tea we desired. Dora and David could not have been friendlier. Dora kept the conversation lively, and David, chief cook, kept the fire burning in the wood stove. The Woodstocker Inn was an intimate and affordable alternative to the outre Woodstock Inn, and we'll be back.

A brief respite from civilization

4,6 sur mars 02, 2009

We were thrilled to find an Inn that would do a one-night stay during ski season. It is a totally charming place with the most amazing library, replete with free drinks and snacks all day/night long. The rooms are very large for typical B&B rooms, and the bathroom was a wonderful, modern whimsical treat. Breakfast did have wonderful sausages, though the typical baked-goods offering was not there. We'll definitely return!

Wicked Woodstock Inn

5 sur février 22, 2009

Our stay of two nights was far too short. I am still craving their breakfast sausage a week later, though they sent us home with a case (it was gone in two days). The BEST restaurant recommendations and they even made the reservations for us. These innkeepers have achieved the perfect balance of intimacy and anonymousity. There is not a spec of lace or dusty flowery drab anywhere in this spectacular inn. You feel as though you are in a boutique hotel in Europe, as opposed to being a guest in someone's house. They gave us a tour of most of the rooms as it was the middle of the week and they were pretty much empty, and although they seem pricey, when you see the bathrooms it is all worth it! They are right out of architectural digest, and the ROBES....oh the robes you will not want to get out of. They are the same robes used in some of the best spa's in the country. Last note, the library is awesome, you will not even want to leave the inn just for this room. The books are mostly from the UK and run the gamut of genres, but in the back is a little kitchenette for guests with homeade biscotti that is out of this world, homeade fruitcake and a fridge full of complimentary soda's, not to mention the all day tea and coffee available. You will not be disappointed here! It is the best B&B experience we have ever had

An excellent (and non-frilly) B&B

5 sur février 21, 2009

My wife and I had to make a business trip to VT. While there, we thought it'd be fun to treat ourselves to a night in a great B&B. After a long and exhaustive search of B&Bs in the state, each one more frilly and dainty than the one before it, we finally found the Woodstocker. OMG, what a relief to finally find a B&B that was a bit more like us. Modern, and yet still very charming, warm and friendly....this place is the real deal. We stayed in the room with the 2 tubs and we loved it. Dora and David are great hosts and were helpful during all parts of the stay, from recommending dinner options to recommending sights to see the next morning. David makes an excellent traditional English breakfast and the house itself is immaculate, full of snacks, and has enough books on its shelves to serve as the town library. I hope that we have a chance to spend another night at the Woodstocker soon. If you are not into the whole frilly B&B scene, give the Woodstocker a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Beatiful Inn in a Great Town

5 sur février 06, 2009

This Inn is located in beautiful Woodstock, Vermont. It is near many Vermont locations as well as being a reasonable drive to NH. THe Inn Keepers are attentive yet not intrusive, and delightful to talk with if you want. The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast delicious! We love that local products are prominent, as well as some from Britain.

Wonderful place to stay

4,6 sur février 02, 2009

I don't normally leave reviews (positive or negative), but the Woodstocker Inn was so fantastic, it warrants a quick write up. We came across the Inn by chance, and found it to be more than we could have asked for. Innkeepers were very helpful, the rooms quiet and comfortable, and the food fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Woodstocker, and look forward to visiting again in the future.

We appreciate anyone taking the time to express an opinion, and we do listen to any comments clients have. These guests seem to have found the three most important factors in lodging - quietness, good food and comfort. As they state they do not usually share comments, but felt a need to do so on this occasion, we thank them.

First experience at a bed and breakfast

5 sur janvier 20, 2009

I can't imagine a better first experience at a bed and breakfast than my wife and I had at the Woodstocker. It will always have special memories for us as my older son and his wife honeymooned at the Inn, and my younger son proposed to his fiancee while staying at the Inn. Each room is unique, spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts are fantastic, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. The proximity to downtown Woodstock is perfect. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy a stay at a bed and breakfast -- after my experience at the Woodstocker Inn, I'm definitely game to try it again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Woodstocker. The hosts are charming, the rooms are really modern and interesting, and the baths are delightful. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts and the cozy library where we had complimentary coffee and cake in the afternoon. Also we loved the woodburning snow on a cold Vermont day. We would absolutely recommend this bed & breakfast to everyone.

Vermont in the snow

Cordial hosts, tasty organic breakfasts, magnificent bathroom, unfussy decor with an eclectic choice of colour schemes. Excellent location for winter sports, walking or just strolling through the quaint High Street. What more could a person want? Another easy chair in the well stocked library wouldn't go amiss. Really enjoyed our stay.

Snowy Christmas in Vermont

5 sur janvier 17, 2009

This was our second visit to the excellent Woodstocker Inn and it had thankfully retained all the charm and attention to detail of our first visit. It is a truly welcoming, homely, quirky yet attractive B & B. Not your traditional chintz and all the better for it. The cosy library and adjacent "refreshment station" are a lovely place to relax with a cup of tea and piece of homemade fruitcake after a day out. Rooms are thoughtfully decorated with interesting touches and have particularly well designed bathrooms. We stayed in Bradford with a newly installed pebble bath - very comforatble to bathe in by the way! Breakfasts are a justifiable highlight with the homemade muesli & compote and locally sourced sausages worth a special mention. D2 have acquired an immense amount of local knowledge and can offer advice on a variety of topics from where to hire skis at a reasonable rate to where to eat in the evening. Tiny niggles are the communal slippers provided and the TV in Bradford could do with being a little larger. But then one isn't visiting Woodstock to watch television.

Yes, yes, yes!

5 sur janvier 17, 2009

The Woodstocker Inn, its loveliness embodied by the spirit, enthusiasm and geniality of the hosts, was the perfect destination for a week-long getaway over the holiday period. A stone's throw from nearby slopes, it was no hassle at all to try out skiing, sledding and every other snow-related leisure activity imaginable. Stoked up every morning by David and Dora's hearty breakfasts, we felt ready for everything that the picturesque town of Woodstock had to throw at us. Like an oasis amid the frigid surroundings, the Woodstocker Inn's luxurious interiors really made us feel at peace. I could not recommend this Bed and Breakfast any more highly - it was the most relaxed I had felt in years.

A lovely, luxurious, but still down-to-earth experience.

4,4 sur janvier 04, 2009

Spent four nights in David & Dora's home and really felt welcomed and taken care of without ever finding it intrusive. This is a lovely, luxurious B & B but remains down-to-earth and comfortable whether one is seeking high-end or just a quiet, simple getaway. A perfect combination of both.

Wonderful stay at Woodstocker

4,4 sur janvier 02, 2009

The Woodstocker Inn was the only Inn in Woodstock to rent a room for one night over the New Year holiday. We were greeted at the door with the warmth and hospitality of people who love what they do. I was very impressed with the accommodations and the fact that The Woodstocker is a green Inn. It's nice to know someone else is concerned about our health and environment. I would recommend this Inn to anyone going to Vermont.

My husband and I spent one night at this inn in November 2008 to celebrate my 40th birthday. What a wonderful place! I want to decorate my house just like this warm home. A Find!

5 sur novembre 14, 2008

Of ca. 9 B&B's we stayed at in New England this Oct, The Woodstocker Inn was our most memorable and favorite. Furnished w/ eclectic taste, love of color, sense of fun and wry humor ( "Lost Robert" in dining rm. and the doggy dish holding candy bars in our room come to mind!). Loved the "green" paper and grooming products, the slices of lemon drizzle cake under glass to snack on in the little guest pantry, and the very solicitous, warm and fun hospitality. Breakfast was scrumptious. Recommend it to anyone visiting beautiful Woodstock as THE place to stay!

relaxing and perfect place to stay

The Woodstocker Inn is almost perfect in every way. The rooms are contemporary, well designed and equipped with everything you need. The Inn has character as does it's hosts! The bed in our room (chelsea) was huge and comfy and the library/lounge area was a great place to sit and chill. The Breakfast was cooked to order and excellent. The hosts were there when you wanted them but invisible when you didn't! They've got it spot on here and we'll be back some day. Gary & Jen (West Sussex UK)

A wonderful birthday

4,8 sur novembre 04, 2008

My husband surprised me with a wonderful overnight at this lovely, modern inn for my 35th birthday. It was our first time having an overnight away from our kids. I loved the bathroom with two clawfoot tubs and granite tile. I loved all the various lighting options in the bathroom. The king sized bed was plush and comfortable. There was nice music in the cd player and the owner lent me a couple of DVDs to watch. They also provide a dog bowl for those who choose to bring dogs, plus a couple candy bars for the adults. Also, if you go downstairs to browse the library stocked full of books from their publishing days, you will find baskets full of snack sized candy bars from which to help yourself. They also provide the means with which to make coffee for yourself if you are an early riser. The breakfast was very good. I especially liked the homemade fruit compote served with homemade muesli and organic yogurt and milk. The eggs and sauteed veggies, in my opinion, were just okay. But the owners, two friendly brits, were lovely to talk to. I also like that they have separate tables so no one is forced to sit with a stranger if they don't want to. On the downside, there was a rosemary aromatherapy scent in the room, which I found to be a little overpowering. I wished it would go away, but didn't know its source. I also was a little concerned about noise level. Our bathroom while beautiful, was not noiseproof and the draining of the tubs seemed to be extremely loud and echoed throughout the bathroom and I wasn't sure how loud or soft I needed to be with the volume on the TV. While our room was spacious and modern, it also had hardwood floors so I wasn't sure how much noise carried to other rooms. I was trying to relax, but also be mindful of other guests. The walk to the center of town is short and very scenic. Overall, it was a wonderful birthday.

Wonderful eclectic cozy inn

4,8 sur novembre 04, 2008

The bright cheerful colors throughout this inn makes for a happy guest! The thoughtful amenities are a step above most B&B's. The wonderful library, the unique bathrooms, the dishes of candy, the 24/7 kitchenette with beverages and delicious pound cake, all make for a very welcoming inn.

See you next year!!

This was a return visit for myself and daughter, and just as expected a wonderful expereince. Everything was perfect, clean , friendly, and comfortable. Unique Place in a Unique Town

4,8 sur octobre 28, 2008

We stayed at the Woodstocker for two nights on our trip through Vermont and found it to be a very pleasing experience. With many nice personnal touches and a excellent quiet atmosphere we found it to be a very relaxing place to stay. Guests from all over, including Europe added another unexpected but interesting aspect to the atmosphere at the Inn. Within close distant to the town center we were able to enjoy a casual evening walk to dinner through the town. Not normally into organic food we found the homemade yogurt and fruit compote excellent. About the only negative was an exhaust fan in the restroom that didn't turn off when switched off.

Love the Woodstocker

5 sur octobre 28, 2008

Just returned from our second visit to the Woodstocker. Love the location and "green" amenities. The breakfast is excellent, and the library with kitchenette is a bonus. The bathrooms are fabulous, each one different and unique. Can't wait to visit again.

All in all a delightful experience

3,2 sur octobre 28, 2008

Although we only had one night at the Woodstocker Inn, it was a very pleasant night! The spacious room had delightful details such as a supply of CDs for our listening enjoyment. My request for a buckwheat hull pillow was quickly met, something I've never found available anywhere else. A brisk morning shower in the double-headed shower was an outstanding wake-up. Then came a tasty although not overly bountiful breakfast. The innkeepers were very hospitable and made us feel most welcome.

Divine getaway

4,2 sur octobre 27, 2008

My husband and I recently stayed at the Woodstocker for our anniversary. It was a truly wonderful 24 hours! Dora and David couldn't be kinder, more thoughtful, or more engaging hosts. Our room (like the last time we stayed there) was exceptional: original, vibrant colors, and a fabulous bathroom with a river stone soaking tub. Heaven! The king bed was supremely comfortable, with luxurious linens and a big down comforter. Breakfast was outstanding as well: made to order eggs and porridge, fresh breads and delicious jams (some homemade), fresh-squeezed OJ, individual press pots of organic coffee, good music in the background. We felt TOTALLY well cared for and can't wait to return!

Great place to stay

We recently stayed with David and Dora at their inn in woodstock and had a wonderful time. Breakfast was wonderful especially all the homemade produce, they were great hosts, very helpful and informative and David was a life-saver when we couldn't get our courtesy lights to go off in our rented car.We appreciated all the organic products used and all the efforts made to help the environment. We will definitely choose them again if we are back in New England

Just what we were looking for!

4,0 sur octobre 21, 2008

Dora and David have hit the mark with the Woodstocker Inn. They are incredibly welcoming and the inn is perfectly comfortable. After a sufficient breakfast with fabulous homemade fruit compote, the guest pantry is a great addition. Guests can help themselves to coffee, tea and snacks whenever the mood strikes. Another huge bonus is the location, which is a mere 5 mintute walk to the city center and literally steps from the Marsh-Billings National Park. If you are looking for an inn that's not at all pretentious yet still offers some luxury, check out the Woodstocker.

What a pleasure

4,6 sur octobre 20, 2008

Traveling home from Maine to New Jersey, we checked the web for a place to stay in the Woodstock-Queechee area. The reviews made the Woodstocker look like a great bet and we liked it so much we stayed an extra night. The Bradford Room was wonderful and comfortable-luxurious, but no frilly decor! Fabulous bathroom. Wonderful breakfast, great hospitality and a perfect dinner recommendation. We look forward to returning. A very special place.

Once again.....great!

Great Overnight Stay

4,0 sur octobre 12, 2008

My wife and I spent a night at the Woodstocker and enjoyed ourselves very much. The Windsor room was unique in all of it little fine details. Shower area that sprayed from both sides, nicely appointed details in the bathroom like stone tiles, modern lighting, nice wood flooring, etc. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable as we slept well that night. Great hosts also. Steve & Carol Webber

Comfortable B&B

4,0 sur octobre 06, 2008

We stayed at the Woodstocker for two nights in late Septemember and enjoyed our time there. The room was clean and comfortable, loved the bed. It rained a lot during our stay however we enjoyed playing cards by the fire downstairs and felt very comfortable just hanging out. I wasn't fond of the "no shoes" polciy when I read it but it actually helped me feel like I was "home". The coffee press was a fun new experience for me as well. :)

A B&B that does what it says!

4,8 sur octobre 06, 2008

This was our second stay at The Woodstocker Inn in just over a year. B&B's often describe themselves as something they are not, but this Inn is an exception. Every thing it describes is accurate and given our preference for the finer things in life we have too often been let down in the past when it comes to picking a good B&B. David and Dora are fine hosts and you are allowed to be as sociable or unsociable as you want to be. At breakfast you will enjoy home made granola and choose from different breads before devouring a sumptuous breakfast with sausages from around the globe (not to be missed!). We will be back in 2009 for more of the same. Thanks D&D and Stanley for another wonderful stay.

Make it more than a one night stay

5 sur octobre 05, 2008

My mother and I recently stayed at The Woodstocker. Although we were only able to stay for one night, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Inn and Woodstock, Vermont. We took advantage of The Woodstocker's special, Taste of Woodstock. Not only were we greeted with truffles and Vermont soap but also we had a fantastic dinner at Pane E Salute. At breakfast we dined on wonderful muesli, fruit compote and the best sausage I have ever eaten. David and Dora were delightful and engaging hosts and helped us plan a scenic drive across Vermont for the afternoon. I would highly recommend staying at The Woodstocker Inn and make it more than one night!

Great place to stay!

4,8 sur octobre 05, 2008

Usually we are B&B adverse, however, our perception has changed as a result of the outstanding attention we received while staying at The Woodstocker Inn on 9/30/08 which is walkable to the center of Woodstock. Everything was excellent; clean & "Green" environment, friendly and attentive service, comfortable bed and room amenities. This is not your average B&B with old fashioned charm, this was a more eclectic chic decor with interesting color schemes and modern bathrooms. David & Dora do a great job and we encourage anyone to stay there.

5 sur octobre 04, 2008

We had four lovely nights at this marvelous inn. The rooms are each different and wonderful, the linens and beds so comfy, the breakfasts amazingly good with fresh local ingredients, and the hosts outstanding. They even arranged for a local dentist for my husband when he decided to have a "vacation tooth abcess". Now THAT'S going above and beyond....which is indicative of the whole Inn. It's truly exquisite, down to the library, guest kitchen, and baskets of chocolate and pastries always available. This is truly a treasure. Thanks David and Dora!!

Woodstock VT,Woodstocker Inn has International Charm. Sep 30, 2008 The woodstocker Inn is a charming part of the Vermont experience. Located at 61 River Street in Woodstock it offers great accommodations and excellent service just a short walk from the shops of historic old Woodstock. Host Dora and David are friendly and very helpful. The many European guest add an international flare to you experience. You will enjoy your stay.

Everything about this lovely inn was perfect, from the helpful and friendly hosts to the great decor and the fabulous breakfast. We'd stay again and recommend it highly.

A great place to stay

4,8 sur septembre 11, 2008

Staying at the Woodstocker Inn for three nights in August was our first experience of B & B's in the USA and we were thoroughly impressed. David and Dora were excellent hosts making us feel very much at home and provided great advice on places to visit and where to eat. The freshly cooked to order breakfasts were first class. The traditional appearance of the outside of the property gives no clue to the contemporary interior design. We stayed in the Westminster room which was very comfortable and had a bathroom to die for! Having the use of the library and the 24 hour refreshment station created a home from home environment. A top class establishment which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Ahead of its time for going green!

David and Dora, the hosts are friendly, warm and interesting. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The comforters and pillows made it even more cozy. Breakfast was delicious! There is a variety to choose from, and the hosts are very accomodating to individual tastes. The breakfast atmosphere is very informal and friendly - We lingered for an extra hour one morning.

My husband and I wanted to get away for a night and it turned into two nights. We enjoyed the atmosphere and company. Dora and David have made the Inn a wonderful home and made us feel like special guests. They were always helpful and didn't hesitate information when needed. The organic soaps and bedding was wonderful and we will definately go back again soon.

Great time!

We had a great time at the Woodstocker Inn! The Inn's accommodations are fantastic. We stayed in the Richmond Suite. We had a sitting room with a big screen TV, a bedrooom with a King size bed that was very comfortable. Plus we had a choice of pillows which was much appreciated as I like a soft pillow and my husband likes a firm pillow. The bathroom was large and included an air bathtub. The best thing about our stay was the made to order breakfast. We had our choice of eggs made to order plus bacon and/or sausage plus a variety of fruit, breads, jams, etc. All in all we had a wonderful stay!

Great stay

5 sur août 04, 2008

We stayed at the Woodstocker for a quiet weekend away and were pleasantly surprised by both the Inn and the town of Woodstock. Agreeing with previous posts, it was nice to stay in a B&B that was not all quilts and lace - it had more of a boutique feel which is an especially nice touch in the country. The Inn was clean, breakfast was delicious and David and Dora were charming and gracious hosts. We will definitely be back in Woodstock in the future and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

For the discerning traveller seeking an alternative stay, this is for you.......eclectic decor, chatty innkeepers, fabulous food, and books galore. Convenient to town. Excellent safe parking.

We recently stayed two nights at the Woodstocker Inn and loved it. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable and not too fussy. The common areas of the inn are decorated in a cheerful fashion. Breakfast is delicious! Dora and David are very charming hosts--it was great to chat with them and they are very knowledgeable about the area. The location is ideal--within easy walking distance of the village. We had such a great stay that we're already planning our return trip.

We really enjoy our stay at the Woodstocker. It is so conviently located. The breakfast was fantastic. Definitely try the sausage and the fruit compote and yogurt. David and Dora are great host. They are friendly, helpful but give you plenty of privacy to enjoy your stay. The room is fantastic but the reading room and the sitting area are so comfortable too you feel like you are at your own home.

"What a great way to start our vacation"

5 sur juillet 09, 2008

My wife and I stayed overnight at the Woodstocker on our way to visit Quebec City and Montreal. I felt right at home from the start since they asked us to remove our shoes and put on house slippers. The room was great, I can't wait for the start of Ski season so that I can get way to the Woodstocker Inn with my two sons for a ski vacation. Thanks for a comfortable respite on our way to Canada.

You Can't Go Wrong in Woodstock at the Woodstocker Inn

5 sur juillet 05, 2008

My husband and I just got back from staying at The Woodstocker Inn for two nights, and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful stay it was. Dora and David (even their faithful companion Stanley) do an outstanding job as inn keepers. The breakfast was simply delightful with sausages you will keep tasting throughout your morning (they are sausage specialists). The building is kept clean, bright, comfy, fun, quarky to name a few...I really feel their inn matches the character of Woodstock. You have access to 24 hour refreshments of all sorts, as well as access to their library with some fantastic titles and other fun additions. They aren't shy at all--Dora helped us find a scenic route for our day trip to Burlington and David is great a cracking jokes. You go here and you feel like you are special, even though you are fully aware other guests have come and gone. It was truly a wonderful experience, and we are already talking about doing this on an annual or every-other-year vacation and would take a stay at the Woodstocker again in a heart beat! Bravo! Stanley has some very dedicated, hard working parents...

A cozy place.

5 sur juillet 01, 2008

We had a very nice but short stay. The room was comfortable, breakfast was great, David and Dora were very welcoming. It felt like home.

Loved it!

5 sur juillet 01, 2008

If you are looking for a restful, peaceful, and joy-filled weekend, go to the Woodstocker! The town itself is idyllic and has so many wonderful options for spending your time but if you stay at the Woodstocker, you are going to be tempted never to leave the inn. The inkeepers make you feel so welcome from the get-go and no detail is overlooked. I have stayed at many B&B's but have never felt this comfortable. They're there when you need them but not breathing down your neck like at other places I've stayed. I especially loved the little snack kitchen and library that are open to guests at all hours. The rooms were delightful, the food delicious, and the whole climate of the inn just lovely! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

4,2 sur juin 29, 2008

My mom and I spent 2 nights at The Woodstocker Inn in Vermont on a mini-vacation from South Florida! We enjoyed the HUGE room, art deco interior, jazz music, and well-stocked Library. David and Dora were very kind hosts and prepared an excellent breakfast for us, including French Press coffee! The best treat of all was meeting Stanley, their adorable Wheaten Terrier! Enjoy your time in New England!

Truly spectacular!

5 sur juin 23, 2008

We stayed in the Winchester room at the Woodstocker for 2 nights in June 2008 for a wedding. The entire inn had been reserved by the bride and groom for their closest friends, so the inn felt like a big house. In short, I cannot say enough good things about the Woodstocker. The owners, David and Dora, are friendly, warm, and professional. The inn's rooms are all simply and beautifully decorated, with a truly artistic eye for color and attention to detail with the lighting and the bathrooms in particular. The breakfast is delicious, the dining room is bright and welcoming, the library is cozy, and the kitchen -- where guests can help themselves to drinks and snacks anytime -- is a very nice feature. The bed is possibly the most comfortable we've ever slept in. We loved the sheets, the duvet, and the pillows. The towels are thick and plush, and the bathrobes are very comfortable. All of the products in the bathrooms are organic, and they smelled wonderful. There are fresh flowers, candy, and interesting magazines in each room. For the quality of the accommodation, the price we paid, $250, is a real bargain (and some of the rooms are as low as $120). I've stayed at far more expensive hotels that were not as clean, not as comfortable, and not as artistically interesting; each room is unique, with its own character, and they all feel very contemporary. David and Dora are wonderful and we enjoyed talking to them. My husband and I are already trying to figure out how we can get back up to the Woodstocker to stay for a longer time.

We thank these guests for not only understanding what our ecological inn concept is about but also seeing the value we attach to it. It is very satisfying when folks leave us and genuinely express enjoyment and happiness. We strive to be 'not just another B & B' and recognise that clients need to be indulged at times, but that not one size fits all. As other guests have described us we are 'Chillaxed' and 'Inndifferent'. We target certain sectors of the travelling public to come and stay with us in Woodstock and help those who may not wish to indulge in our home, find places locally that suit their needs. We are offer value but we do not sell on price and we could not have summed up our hospitality business better. We take pride in raising standards and hope we will continue with our passion of making people smile. THANK YOU!

Anniversary at the Woodstocker

My husband and I stayed at the Woodstocker to celebrate our first anniversary. We were extremely pleased with everything from the hospitality to the comfortable rooms to the fabulous breakfast! The Woodstocker was a great, relaxing getaway, and our only disappointment was that we didn't get to stay longer!

How wonderful! We took over the inn for our daughter's graduation. A big, blended family, it was terrific to have such a laid back atmosphere in which to reconnect. The food was great. Very nice to be able to order what we wanted and it was so accommodating of our hosts to serve breakfast early to fit our schedule. The rooms were lovely and all of our needs were met. Thank you both for such a great weekend!

A friend and I were up in Woodstock for a wedding over the holiday weekend, and the Woodstocker was recommended. I am so glad we chose to stay there! From the booking process, personal emails of confirmations (and of "thanks" after our stay!) to the delicious buffet and hot cooked breakfast, to cake, chocolates, coffee and tea available at all times, everything was comfortable and welcoming. I'll definitely be returning to the Woodstocker when I make it back up north!

Outstanding B&B

My wife and I found the Woodstocker Inn and absolute treasure. Dora and David, the owners, were very friendly and most attentive to our needs. They us feel like we were right at home. The rooms and inn were very charming, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding!! Kudos to the chef. We will definitely be returning for another long weekend. Thanks for everything!!

Can't say enough wonderful things

4,8 sur juin 02, 2008

My trip was made more memorable because of the time the owners took to help me enjoy my time there. At the last minute I had to ask for a special meal request, which they accommodated and made better food than I could have hoped for under the circumstances. I was also impressed with the owners local recommendations since they took the time to listen to what we were hoping for and then gave us directions. The people staying there in general were friendly too, which can make a difference. Overall, I would highly recommend this delightful B&B.

Lovely and eco-conscious

4,0 sur juin 01, 2008

Comfortable living space and well-appointed bedrooms. Great breakfast with yummy organic muesli, fruit and milk as well as hot-cooked options. Nicely stocked pantry for odd-hour eating as well. More pillows and nicer sheets on bed, as well as having irons and hair-dryers in rooms, would be nice.

Réponse du propriétaire
We are glad this guest understood and supports our eco/green efforts. We do have a number of hairdryers for guests to use upon request but made a decision not to put them in the rooms. We felt that some guests might be encouraged to save a resource and let their hair dry naturally, however if for instance you have long thick hair this is not a practical solution! We do provide all rooms with at least two firm pillows on the bed (three in the case of all king beds) and two soft pillows in a storage area. All pillows are no older than one year and all are hypoallergenic feather/down mix. We also have more pillows including buckwheat and non feather ones available upon request. Personally we feel you can never have too many pillows! All duvets are manufactured with organic cotton, but we have noted the clients comments and will look to improve our quality control upon replacement.

A Very Nice Time

4,2 sur mai 23, 2008

The time I stayed at the Woodstocker was really very enjoyable. I found Dora and David to be delightful and very hospitable. Traveling alone for a seminar, they offered to pick me up and deliver me back to the nearest train station in White River Junction, and they went out of their way to include me in local activities. But by the same token, they also left me to my own space when desired The room was always clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were plentiful and I really enjoyed the Museli! I would recommend this modern yet cozy B&B to a friend and will stay again when I am in Woodstock.

Warm and homey B&B

4,6 sur mai 21, 2008

My husband and I just returned from a weekend in Woodstock to celebrate our anniversary. We had a wonderful time and one of the main reasons for that was our stay at the Woodstocker. The innkeepers were extremely friendly and wanted to meet our every need. It felt so homey because it was very clean, decorated warmly and everything we needed was available to us. In addition, it was very quiet. We enjoyed the snacks, soft drinks, tea, breads, and candy that were made available any time of day or night. The innkeepers made breakfast especially good by serving homemade granola, yogurt, tasty breads, jams, and taking our orders for a warm breakfast, which usually included a delicious pork and maple sausage. My husband can be extremely critical, and he enjoyed the Woodstocker and even wants to make reservations to return in the fall.

Dora and David were great hosts. Quirky but refreshing decor. Great breakfasts, and we liked the organic everything. Location in the village, an easy walk to everything, a real plus. The no shoes policy wasn't exactly to our liking, but didn't cloud our stay.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy Woodstock and Vermont

5 sur mai 12, 2008

The Woodstocker Inn is quite the perfect place to stay and the hosts really have thought of everything. I have travelled widely in Europe, the US & other parts of the world, and this really was one of the most comfortable, original and welcoming places that I have stayed. The inn is a perfect balance of traditional and modern, with every need catered for. It is all very clean, comfortable and cosy, and the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the surrounding area. The rooms are beautifully & thoughtfully designed and spacious, and there is also a wonderful breakfast room, library and small kitchen for guests to use whenever they fancy a coffee or tea. The kitchen also provides home made fruit cake and there is chocolate on offer in all of the rooms. I stayed in the Chelsea room, all painted red and with a very funky, stylish & glowing red bathroom. I would definitely recommend this inn to anyone, whether in the area for a business trip or on a leisurely vacation.

Unexpected gem

4,0 sur mai 11, 2008

We found this place by chance driving around in Vermont and were glad to have done so. The rooms are excellent, the hospitality of the owners outstanding, the library room an excellent spot to rest and enjoy an above average quality coffee, the breakfast is all organic and better than in any other B & B we stayed in. We could not rate the "dining" as this item was not offered by the inn. It is unfortunate that the rating system does not include a possibility of excluding an item

Charming, friendly, and organic

5 sur mai 10, 2008

We just came back from a college family weekend in west New Hampshire. We decided to stay across the Connecticut River in Woodstock, Vermont and are very glad we did. We stayed at the Woodstocker Inn, just around the corner from the town's main square. Four things made our stay a great experience. First, the innkeepers, Dora and David, are affable, kind, helpful, and eager to make your stay comfortable. Second, the food, fresh from local organic farms to your table and hand-prepared by the innkeepers, tasted wonderful. We particularly liked the orange/grapefruit marmalade, hand-prepared by our innkeepers, and the tart cherry compote. The excellent marmalade at Lou Mitchell's in my home town of Chicago has nothing on the offering at the Woodstocker. Third, Woodstock itself is beautiful, nestled in rolling hills that warm your heart even on the kind of rainy days that greeted us when we arrived. Fourth, the Woodstocker Inn is clean. The Inn has a "no shoes" policy. To us, that was a good sign. Nothing will ruin our visit faster than poor hygienic conditions. The Inn is in an old New England house with some rustic features, so one must be ready for an old home feel rather than a gleaming palace feel, but the ambience is entirely appropriate for the hills of Vermont. We are looking for a good excuse to go back to Vermont and visit the Woodstocker Inn again.

lovely b&b

4,2 sur mai 02, 2008

All but one aspect of our stay was ideal. Dora and David are wonderful hosts, the house is so clean, nicely decorated, wonderfully located, breakfast was delish and Stanley was sweet. We chose a room with two double beds (so that we could have three people in the room) and double beds aren't long/wide enough for two people so our sleeping wasn't as good as it would have been in a queen or king sized bed. We'd come back, but chose a room with larger beds.

Perfect relaxation!

5 sur mai 01, 2008

My husband and I returned to the Woodstocker for our third visit and were delighted to find ourselves in the Richmond suite. Wow! A real retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life and the bed was just so large and comfortable. The spa bath and shower were amazing and we were just able to relax and pamper ourselves. It's a short walk into the charming town of Woodstock and we also enjoyed a ski lesson at Suicide Six. All in all, a brilliant week and we're looking forward to our next trip.

My husband and I just spent a weekend at the Woodstocker Inn, and we had a great stay. The innkeepers are very friendly and nice, and the breakfast was wonderful. Our room was spacious with lots of windows and sunshine. The location is great as you can walk to the shops in Woodstock. We would definitely there again.

Worth the trip.

5 sur avril 22, 2008

The Woodstocker Inn is a classic Vermont Inn with the style turned up a notch or two. Our room was spacious and well appointed with an exceptional bathroom--two large comfortable tubs--and wonderful attention to details. Dora and David, the innkeepers, are charming hosts, providing warm hospitality, but also respecting privacy. Breakfast was perfect, consisting of homemade granola, homemade fruit compote, organic yogurt, and cooked-to-order hot breakfast foods all sourced from local purveyors. Fresh-brewed coffee is served in individual French press pots. The Inn is within walking distance of Woodstock's main street and also Mt. Tom's trail head for those looking for a nice afternoon's hike. Overall, the Woodstock Inn is definitely worth the trip. And, of course, Stanley, the requisite canine, only adds to the charm.

Great B & B

My wife and I had a wonderful relaxing stay at the Woodstocker B & B. The Richmond room is incredible and worth every penny. Be sure to check out their website. Donna, David, and Stanley are wonderful hosts and will make you feel very comfortable. The location is great...downtown is walkable, and many attractions are close by. One aware that April is considered "mud season" and many restaurants, etc. are closed for the month, so be sure to call ahead to see if certain restaurants, etc are open before you book reservations.

Very nice B and B

We stayed here this weekend. Very nice, clean and hospitable. You must take your shoes off to walk around, how nice is that. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh buns, eggs to order, nice maple sausage. Coffee was at your own pace. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Owners are very charming. Can't miss the building, brightly painted yellow. 10 mins from Long Trail Brewery, Bentley's downtown. Both are definitely worth checking out. Consider dinner at simon pierce factory, fantastic. If you go to Bentley's you must have the baby back ribs, out of this world.

This was our third stay at the Woodstocker and it's definitely a place we'll go back to each time we visit the area. David, Dora and Stanley the rescue dog are wonderful hosts: friendly, accomodating and very informative. They have been working on a complete renovation of the Inn, updating and giving all the rooms a fresh, cozy but innovative look. It's definitely a fun place to stay! The breakfasts are delicious, the dining room arranged so it's easy to meet new people and the homemade English fruitcake, biscotti and candy left for all to enjoy are very tempting treats, especially with a hot cup of tea or cocoa after a day of skiiing or exploring.

Terrific inn, like visiting friends--David, Dora and Stanley (their Wheaton terrier) make you feel at home from the start as valued guests. Centrally located and you can walk to everything in town. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous Time at the Woodstocker

4,4 sur mars 10, 2008

My husband and I had such a cozy and fun time at the Woodstocker...when we would come back in the evening from our outings, it always felt like we were coming home. We are excited to visit again, but next time we will stay in one of the updated rooms. We opted for lower budget this time - the other rooms they have are modernly decorated, but still very warm and welcoming. D2 were so helpful in planning our trip and giving great recommendations for food and things to do. They were the reason we had such a great time!

Incredible experience!

5 sur mars 08, 2008

The hosts were incredible! David, Dora and Stanley (a female, non-shedding, Wheaten terrier dog) made me feel at home immediately upon arrival. I had requested one of the smaller room, but I was informed when I checked-in that they had upgraded my room and I was very grateful. The room was absolutely beautiful! I am a young lesbian in college and I was traveling alone. I only stayed for 2 nights, but I felt completely welcome not only at the Inn but in the town of Woodstock. The B&B has a modern feel (wi-fi, tv/dvd/cd players, big plush organic bedding, personal bathrooms) with all the amenities of a traditional bed and breakfast (unique rooms, library, homemade breakfasts). The breakfasts were made to order and incredibly delicious. I spent both of my evenings there in the library reading a book with a delicious cup of tea. Coffee, tea, and treats were available 24/7. The inn isn't for families or small children, but more of an oasis for adults. I don't ski, but there are plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors. Every day, I walked into town and spent hours in the shops, restaurants, and cafes. David and Dora were so helpful with suggestions and have an entire basket of menus from local restaurants. I would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, rejuvenating escape to the beautiful town of Woodstock, VT any time of year!

This was my husbands and I first ever time staying at a B&B and it was wonderful. David & Dora make it very charming and inviting. The colors inside & out make it have a fun, crisp, & refreshing feel! One morning we had to leave early and could not join them for breakfast so David & Dora prepared some wonderful homemade organic fruit, yogert & granola and it was waiting for us in the guest kitchen. The following morning we were sat in the dining area to enjoy a fantastic meal of local farmed bacon & eggs with many other sides while being captured in David's story on how they ended up picking Woodstock for there B&B.... and I'm glad they did! Friendly Stanley also joined us..... I snuck him a small peice of bacon when his dad left the room. My husband and I will always reccomend the Woodstocker. Truly relaxing

5 sur février 09, 2008

We stayed in the Woodstocker for a romantic weekend getaway and an attempt to do some snowshoeing. We succeeded in both thanks to the feel-at-home atmosphere of the Woodstocker, the very friendly and helpful inn keepers, the comfortable suite we stayed in, wonderful breakfast, extensive library and kitchen with around the clock cofee/tea/cocoa making equipment and freely available snacks, and the Town of Woodstock itself with nice restaurants, all in walking distance from the inn, and woderful trails to ski/snowshoe. Traveling often, the Woodstocker was a truly relaxing experience for us with great value for money. We higly recommend it and hope to return.

Clean, Green, Romantic Whimsy

4,6 sur février 09, 2008

As a New Yorker, I have found it most distressing when, skipping town for a "breather", to then eagerly arrive in the desired, otherwise refreshing surroundings, only to end up enduring musty carpets, dusty drapes, harsh chemical "cleansers" , and so -called air "fresheners" in a hotel or b&b. Manhattan bus fumes notwithstanding, I've ended up having to flee a chemically sickening "vacation" to restore my lungs inside our consciously eco-friendly apartment on Broadway! Whether visiting a city or the countryside, the notion of "green" lodgings is a godsend for me, as, of course, it is for our planet. We arrived at The Woodstocker strained and exhausted from a long stretch of care giving for our respective elderly parents, who had endured simultaneous health crises. Especially under these circumstances, what a relief it was to be embraced as regular folks who are fully human, rather than treated coolly as "anti-family" because we happen to be a same-sex couple---of almost 25 years, no less! We don't yet have marriage equality, but no one can stop us from enjoying as many honeymoons as we can.The Woodstocker is a safe, clean, delightful, whimsical, delicious and inviting haven for all peace-loving people of good will. Dora, David, and furry Stanley are gifted hosts: helpful, intelligent and available, yet not hovering (except, perhaps, sweetiepie Stanley when she is eager to be petted and patted at length!) Unless you are so unfortunate as to be allergic to dogs, go to the Woodstocker, and breathe!

An Inn for all your senses!

4,8 sur février 08, 2008

Dave and Dora know the secret to creating the perfect Inn. The decor was modern and cheerful, the breakfast was a treat for the tastebuds (with options for every palate). Even the music played in the dining area soothed the mind and body. Oh, and the Turkish towels, a perfect end to a relaxing shower. Centrally located in Woodstock, this is the perfect inn for a fantastic Vermont getaway. There is no doubt we will return. Dora, Dave and Stanley are the perfect innkeepers!

Like Going Home!

4,6 sur février 06, 2008

We had a great (although too short) stay at the Woodstocker Inn. Dora and Dave are very pleasant hosts. The breakfast was excellent. We will recommend the Woodstocker Inn to our friends and family. Best of luck to Dave, Dora, and Stanley.

Highly recomend, stylish yet homey

4,6 sur février 04, 2008

Would highly recomend a stay in this B&B that is stylish and modern at the sametime as it is homey and accomidating. Felt very comfortable even outside the guest room as there is a very pleasant library and kitchen to serve guests needs. Breakfast was made to order with wonderful local touches (most of the food was locally grown, produced or home made). David and Dora were great hosts with a good knowledge of goings on in town. Walking distance to all that Woodstock has to offer.

January Stay

3,0 sur janvier 31, 2008

Dave and Dora were very accommodating in letting us check out at a later time, and were friendly and generous hosts. Having to pay as soon as you walk into a B/B after a long drive was definitely surprising to us, although the hostess was very kind in helping us postpone our dinner at a nearby establishment. Dave had a lot of good, helpful hints regarding nearby attractions. Overall, the Inn definitely met most of our expectations.

Uniquely its Own

4,2 sur janvier 30, 2008

We had a wonderful stay at this bright, cheery and modern styled B&B. The innkeepers couldn't have been more hospitable. Great CD and book selections!

Lovely Time

4,8 sur janvier 24, 2008

On my first return trip, the Woodstocker Inn was even better than before! The service and atmosphere was so terrific I believe David & Dora actually ordered the magical snowfall just for our benefit. I hope to return many more times. Truly an exceptional B&B.

5 sur janvier 22, 2008

Our visit to the Woodstocker was delightful on every level . The décor is modern and stylish. The food was tasty, plentiful and varied. We loved the double baths and had a romantic and restful stay. Highly recommended!

5 sur janvier 17, 2008

The inn is impeccable, stylish, fun and comfortable. We highly recommend it. We stayed over the Christmas holiday. Dora and David went out of their way to prepare a surprise gift basket, on behalf of my mother 2000 miles away. We'll definitely be back.

Perfect B&B in lovely Woodstock

5 sur janvier 02, 2008

This is a perfect B&B. I can't say enough positive things about it. The hosts are warm, friendly and helpful; the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable; the common areas are cozy and inviting; and Woodstock is a picturesque town. The made-to-order, all-organic breakfast are delicious - we looked forward to them every morning. The inn is also very well-located, about 5 minutes to the town center on foot. Highly recommended!

A wonderful place!!

5 sur janvier 02, 2008

We've been there twice and loved every minute of it. Delightful hosts (including Stanley, the Wonder Wheaton Terrier) make for a unique and relaxing stay. There's an amazing library, comfy beds, and great breakfasts. Woodstock, VT is a great place to visit in any season, too.

Great books!

4,6 sur décembre 31, 2007

We really enjoyed rifling through the bookshelves, both in our room and in the library. So many other nice touches, like a fridge that guests could use, slippers for wearing inside the inn, and free WiFi. One drawback was that the breakfasts, while good, started to get a bit redundant.

Absolute Relaxation!

4,8 sur décembre 03, 2007

We made the long drive from New York City to Woodstock to celebrate our anniversary. From the minute we arrived (David waited up for our late arrival to show us around the home and bring our luggage to our room) to our departure (it felt like leaving family) our weekend was superb. David and Dora are caring and entertaining innkeepers and Stanley is an adorable addition! Even though we only had two days away, we felt as rested as if we had been away for much longer! Our room (Westminster) was gorgeous - two bath tubs!!! The breakfasts were wonderful!

The Most Modern of B&Bs

4,4 sur novembre 12, 2007

We had a lovely room, beautifully arranged with a fabulous bath--it truly was a "spa" experience. David and Dora are friendly and experienced innkeepers with a great sense of what their guests need. Woodstock is such a beautiful town with lots to do, their location is central to everything. Great english breakfast served with happy smiles. I hope they are there for a long time !!!

November Stay

3,0 sur novembre 08, 2007

We thought that for the price we were paying, our room was average. The decore was not really what we expected from the brochure. There was an opened pack of raisinettes in the room and the shower curtain did not have a plastic on the inside. When the curtain got wet from showering it looked very stained. Also they have a dog, so if you are allergic to them it is not a good place for you. My boyfriend had bad allergies the whole night due to the dog allergy. Other than that everything else was fine. The breakfast was very good. If you like coffee though, you should learn how to use a french press!

We are concerned that these guest's did not have a totally enjoyable visit. Our dog Stanley is a wheaten terrier and this breed of dog has hair and not fur. Until now we were not aware of her having any negative effect on a client. We also discourage her from visiting any of the guests areas, but sometimes she does escape her bed and follow the smell of sausages into the breakfast room! Had we been made aware of the clients allergies we would have ensured that she was kept well away from him. The shower curtain is a ecofriendly cotton one and does not use a plastic liner. We have now replaced it. The opened packet of sweets was not acceptable and we will check all room confectionery more thoroughly in future. We feel our brochure does reflect the contemporary style of the inn. We believe the clients had not booked ahead, thus they did not have the full range of rooms to select from for their stay.

"Great fun!"

5 sur novembre 03, 2007

We loved it! The room was great, the breakfast was delicious; David and Dora were friendly, helpful and efficient without being overbearing. Woodstock is a pretty town to visit in any season with lots to do; we visited in the fall. The Woodstocker Inn is within easy walking distance of hiking trails and the town. We had a wonderful visit and look forward to staying at the Inn again. Would highly recommend this place!

Great Inn in a charming town!

4,8 sur octobre 31, 2007

The warm welcome, comfortable spaces, nutritious breakfasts, helpful tips and recommendations from David and Dora and the great location in a quaint Vermont town all add up to an extraordinary experience. We'd highly recommend a stay at The Woodstocker Inn.

Fall Weekend In Perfect Setting

3,4 sur octobre 19, 2007

We spent a delightful 2 days among splendid British hospitality. We would definitely come again and recommend to others staying here.

Absolutely loved it!

5 sur octobre 16, 2007

My mother and I were lucky enough to come across this fabulous B&B, with very accomodating individuals (David and Dora) and an absolutely adorable dog, Stanley. It was extremely clean, spacious and quiet. The breakfasts were good, we had hot or cold options, and the sausages were EXCELLENT!!We enjoyed everything about this B&B and highly recommend it!

Best of Woodstock

5 sur octobre 16, 2007

My sister and I dropped in to this jewel of a place during fall foliage. Innkeepers Dora and David are great - polite and friendly, but not intrusive. Our large room with two queen beds was spacious, comfortable and very CLEAN! The dinig tables were set with lovely blue and yellow English china. Breakfast was delicious - yogurt with homemade plum compote, homemade meusili, an assortment of breads and delicious English hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage of many types. An assortment of teas and delicious, fresh coffee was ready and waiting for us. A comfy library is filled with books and magazines for guests. B&B is only a few short blocks to the best shopping and restaurants in Woodstock. Every single detail of our stay was excellent!!!! Joyce Cole, Lincoln MA

Friendly and Professional

4,2 sur octobre 15, 2007

One of the few inns in New England which isn't cluttered with colonial nic nacks. Fully equiped bath, luxurious robes, bedding and excellent breakfast. I left my jewlry in the room and it was returned immediatly with their compliments. Wouldn't stay any where else in the area.

'Quality' at the Woodstocker

4,8 sur octobre 14, 2007

Having chanced on this B&B we spent a very comfortable night with lots of home comforts and great breakfast. Very relaxing - and in a lovely village for visiting Vermont in the Fall.

Chic and hip!

4,8 sur octobre 08, 2007

We stayed at the Woodstocker for just one night as part of a road trip from Toronto, through Ontario and down through New England and so experiences a number of B&B's throughout the North Eastern United States. What Dora and David have here is something different, comfortable but with no chintz in sight, friendly helpful hosts but not overbearing. This place comes highly recommended.

great place to stay

4,8 sur octobre 08, 2007

the owners are very much involved and care. excellent service and attention to detail. plus we love the no shoes policy!!

Hip, cool & perfect

4,0 sur octobre 03, 2007

I'm selfish, please don't share the Woodstocker with anyone! Unless David & Dora decide to create an empire around the world where everyone who 'gets it' can stay I never want to run the risk of getting shut out. I was thinking maybe my nearly 80 year old Mom wouldn't take to it, but realize now how irresistable The Woodstocker would be for anyone - bright colors illuminating the darkening days, the clean Scandi Modern outfitting of baths & rooms, fab organic foods/amenities. Stanley is the luckiest dog in the world.

Excellent spot: Not the usual B&B

4,4 sur octobre 02, 2007

the woodstocker is a very unique spot in woodstock, vt. it is part vermont B&B, part contemporary hotel. this creates a very unique experience in vermont, and much different than some of the other places in town. if you are looking for a place with some personality, this is the place to stay!!

Will definitely go back

5 sur octobre 02, 2007

Well designed layout with great decor, charming hosts with a great library. Food was abundant and always good. Just a short walk from some great hiking trails. The Woodstocker far exceeded our expectations. A nice romantic getaway.

A Wonderful Find!!

3,8 sur septembre 18, 2007

My husband and I are very pleased to come upon the Woodstocker Inn. Our stay was too short so we have already made our reservations for a week's stay in 2008. Our hosts couldn't have been more accomodating.

Our stay in Sept...wish we had longer!!

4,4 sur septembre 11, 2007

We had a terrific stay. The interior reminded us of days spent in London on holiday. The innkeepers were friendly even when we arrived well after 9pm. The inn is eco-friendly in every respect including locally grown food, natural bath products, and organic bath linens. Say hi to Stanley for us (the resident dog).

The patrons, and paint, are cheery!

4,6 sur septembre 06, 2007

The now bright yellow exterior and funky, fake sheep on the front lawn greet you as you pull in after a meandering drive through the main town. Large rooms, very modern amenities, and a really tame dog are all part of the deal. Dora makes a mean hot breakfast and the patrons share a sense of adventure with the French press coffee makers over a meal with strangers. It was surprisingly quiet, and the shower was wonderful. We'd stay there again - the nicest restaurant around (at Simon Pearce) is an easy 10-minute drive as well which is a huge plus. Enjoyed it very much.

Loved it.

4,8 sur août 30, 2007

We are finally getting around to writing this review many months after our stay. That's how great this affordable, totally inconspicuous, and charming inn was for us. We still remember the positive experience and wanted to make sure we let other travelers know. Our traditional room was super clean, our bed was very comfy, and we loved how the inn used "green"products everywhere withou sacrificing comfort. The breakfast was WONDERFUL and they also had treats and drinks left out for guests 24/7, which we definitely partook in and loved. Another plus was fantastic library of books and magazines. There are plenty and immediately helps you feel comfortable and cozy. The innkeepers were very kind and knew the perfect balance between chatting up friendly conversation and when to leave us be. Their dog Stanley was sweet, mild, and usually just chilling on the floor. We loved it. The only negatives we can think of was our bathroom was a bit small and the location is not in town. Not a big deal if you like to walk and we had awesome weather so walking was preferable anyway. We'd come back but we would avoid some of the rooms that looked like they hadn't had a chance to update them yet. The others however, appear funky, unique but cozy and we look forward to trying them out next time.

Lovely one-night stopover in Woodstock, VT

3,6 sur août 30, 2007

My husband and I stayed one night (a Saturday) on our way to a family vacation. We appreciated that the inn didn't have a 2-night minimum (the only month it does is in October, unlike some of its local counterparts). The combination of convenience, location, quality of accommodations and excellent breakfast food resulted in a wonderful overall experience. It was very good value for the money and we would definitely stay there again. Some specifics: stayed in the Chelsea room, which was quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable, but the opaque glass between the room and the bath made the latter a bit less private than another arrangement would have, although it didn't bother us in the least; the inn's recommendation for dinner, Osteria Pane e Salute, was a great choice; the location was quiet but a very short walk to town; breakfast was delicious and plentiful; and the added touch of having a kitchenette available at all times with free bottled water, soda, cookies, candy, tea and coffee was quite generous.

Wonderful weekend getaway

4,0 sur août 26, 2007

My wife and I had a very relaxing weekend in Woodstock, and the accomodations could not have been better. Dora and David have created a wonderful environment. The decor is refreshingly modern, yet comfortable. The amenities are top notch. The choices for breakfast were healthy, served quickly and prepared well. The hosts were welcoming and friendly (including stanley). We look forward to our next visit!

Rest and Relaxation

4,4 sur août 09, 2007

We went to Woodstock looking for some R & R and found it at the Woodstocker Inn. Dora and David are delightful and beautifully maintain a very clean and comfortable inn. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return in the future.

Vermont in July!

5 sur août 01, 2007

This was our second time visting and it surely won't be our last. The decor and comfort of the Chelsea room exceeded our expectations. Dora and David are outstanding hosts with a vast amount of knowledge of the local area. The organic breakfast continues to satisfy us. I will continue to recommend this B&B to family and friends.

Tea and Chocolate

4,8 sur juillet 30, 2007

It's the little things that make the Woodstocker special. We stay in B&B's for the (almost) always friendly hosts, the warm and homey atmosphere, and the homemade breakfasts. We got all of those, and more. The bed was new and comfortable, the made-to-order breakfasts included choice of full English breakfast, homemade fruit compote and jam, porridge and toast. And at all times there were snacks, often homemade cake or tart, in the little guest kitchen, with a variety of teas and coffee. There were books of all kinds in the library to peruse, and always enough chocolate - in the room, in the dining room, in the kitchen - to sustain even a diehard chocoholic. It was all topped off by Stanley the dog, a big friendly thing who never barks and is always, always hopeful she'll get just one bite of that sausage you're eating. We would definitely go back to the Woodstocker, whose only 'fault' (and probably a virtue to many) is that they don't allow children - which simply means we can't go back very often!

a real treat among B&Bs

5 sur juillet 17, 2007

We were so pleased to find a B&B that was modern and state of the art. We had a large bathroom, a wonderfully comfortable bed, great lighting and charming hosts. We will go back again.

A brief stay

5 sur juillet 14, 2007

What could top the beautiful, historic quaintness of Woodstock? Why, the Woodstock Inn! My wife is really cautious and picky about B&Bs, but loved it from the moment she walked in. The decor, atmosphere and easy comfort make it a winner. The room was great. Huge bathroom. Wonderful breakfast. We're sorry we could only stay one night.

A splendid retreat

4,2 sur juillet 12, 2007

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for a weekend getaway and were very impressed with the innkeepers' hospitality and vast knowledge of the area (specifically the local restaurants). We would return to the Woodstocker Inn in a heartbeat!

The true value is inside!

4,6 sur juillet 09, 2007

We had a very pleasent and enjoyable stay at the Woodstocker Inn. The outstanding service included a ride to a hiking destination. The best part of the breakfast was the home made fruit compot with granola and organic yoghurt!

One of the best!!!

5 sur juillet 08, 2007

Woodstocker was one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed in. Everything about it was outstanding. The service, the room, the Full Monty breakfast. I will tell friends and family.

A Gem

5 sur juillet 06, 2007

The inn reflects the intellect and sensibilities of David and Dora, the delightful innkeepers. From the eclectic library (we found ourselves delving into books we'd not ordinarily know about) to the delicious breakfasts and the unique art and furnishings, our two nights were absolutely a joy. D and D were generous in their time as they made dining, shopping, and walking suggestions, and the room was immaculate and pleasant. We can't wait to return -- and to send our adult children for a getaway also.

Off beat Euro-mod b&b

5 sur juillet 06, 2007

We had a great room that was large and yet cosy. The bathroom was stocked with great smelling organic products, fluffy towels, fluffy robes. The bed was very comfortable, much better than what I had expected. It felt like being home, only better. Dora and David were so attentive and great, a quick business trip became a one night vacation. David made a dinner recommendation that was fantastic (Pane e Saluti) and just a ten minute walk across a covered bridge from the inn, lovely coming home in the dark with the fireflies and crickets. The house is quiet and clean, with a sophisticated twist on the usual "New England" style (not a doily or dried flower arrangement in sight). The best orange marmalade and fresh fruit compote we've had in a long time and breakfast was so relaxed that I almost forgot to get to my meeting. We'll definitely go again.

Our favourite B&B

5 sur juillet 05, 2007

We stayed in the Woodstocker in June and were delighted to have discovered this gem of a B&B in the Upper Valley. David, Dora and Stanley's hospitality was second to none. The rooms were spotless, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. David was even kind enough to upgrade us to a king room, which happened to be avaialable, at no extra charge. Breakfast was fantastic and we very much appreciated the "homliness" of the entire inn. We will certainly return to the Woodstocker in the future.

Outstanding B&B in great location!

4,8 sur juin 30, 2007

Great stay from start to finish. Beautiful accommodation in spotlessly clean rooms. Looked after from the moment we arrived. Great tips and hints on what to do and see in the area and good advise on eating out. Lovely homely touches like the CD collection the library and the go as you please kitchen. Top marks for breakfast especially the granola and compliments from a Scotsman to the chef on the porridge with maple syrup. Wonderful how seriously you are tackling environmental issues.Hopefully we will manage to return.

This was our 4th stay, 2nd under the current owners. We will return again and again!

fantastic stay

5 sur mai 29, 2007

Just returned from three nights with David, Dora, and their nice dog. We stayed in a very modern and clean room which had a fantastic bed with a fluffy duvet. There was a fantastic library, a nice breakfast room, and of course wonderful breakfasts to wake up to. We are from NYC and London and were looking for something modern without all the lace and antique quilts found in most places, and found it at the Woodstocker Inn.

Stylish Modern with Gracious Hosts

5 sur mai 25, 2007

For those who enjoy modern design with a bit of whimsy, a stay at the Woodstocker is a real treat. The Woodstocker is a wonderful contrast to the usual "chintz upholstery and lace curtains" standard Vermont B&B. The hosts, David and Dora, have creatively and intelligently transformed the property into a very modern inn. Each room is uniquely designed with the comforts you would expect to find in a fine hotel. If you're planning a visit to Woodstock, be sure and take a look at their website before booking your accomodations. You will not be disappointed.

5 sur mai 22, 2007

Great place - large rooms, very comfortable, great breakfast and really nice owners.

An atypical B&B

5 sur mai 20, 2007

This Inn is a relaxed, inviting & very chill place for those looking to enjoy the best of Vermont. A very enjoyable stroll through the neighborhood and over a genuine covered bridge brings one to the center of Woodstock, a fun little town where the people are as friendly as the scenery is beautiful. The down to earth owners, Dora and David, are obviously in love with this place, and make you feel like a truly treasured guest. Candy bars, breakfast made to order, and most of all their down to earth approach to innkeeping make you feel just like family!

"Serenity Found!!"

5 sur mai 08, 2007

Coming from Africa and working in the luxury lodging industry, I can be critical of places I stay in when on holiday. I was looking for a perfect place for a weekend in the mountains with my girlfriend which would have a very relaxed atmosphere to allow us to spend some real quality time together. This was found at The Woodstocker Inn in Vermont. Having just caught a couple days of snow the scene was set for a perfectly serene weekend for two! The Woodstocker has everything you could need to make your own home away from home. With comfortable slippers to put on at the door to keep your feet warm and hot drinks with biscuits to help yourself to it's no wonder that after 15mins you feel like you've come home. We stayed in The Chelsea which was an awesome room with a funky bathroom which could be lit up to create any mood, with underfloor heating and a great bath! Most importantly the bed was big HUGE and slumber inducing! You can walk easily into the village centre where you can find everything you need from biking/hiking shops to small coffee shops and great restaurants and pubs. Lastly, it has to be said that anyone can build a B&B with all the niceties - few however have great hosts to go with. You'll be genuinely looked after and experience honest hospitality at its best.

We thank you for your positive comments, and these from someone whose business is upmarket lodging for a very demanding clientele. We want to pay attention to our customers and respond to their needs, a simple idea which sadly often doesn't translate as well as it should. To get feed back is appreciated, and we trust more folks can experience our style of hospitality.

Clean, cozy interior. Wonderful, inteligent owner, a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Best location and great service. I loved all about my stay in this inn!

We loved everything about our stay at the Woodstocker. The twin oversized clawfoot tubs alone were worth the booking price. Add to that the sleek, modern (but always pleasant) decor, the comfortable and well-stocked library, the excellent English breakfasts, and (especially) the warm hospitality of David, Dora and Stanley, and you have the finest B & B we've ever encountered.
