Friendly, beautiful, with for some reason, guests as friendly and pleasant as the innkeepers! I think they help everyone relax & very convivial. Fall is lovely!

Winter Holiday Getaway

5 sur janvier 03, 2012

I just returned from a wonderful few days in Cedarburg for a post-family holiday vacation. What a fantastic way to unwind! The Stagecoach Inn is the perfect spot to enjoy a hidden gem just outside Milwaukee. Brook, one of the owners was there to greet us when we arrived and served us breakfast in the mornings. He matched everything I would hope for of a Wisconsin innkeeper: exceedingly pleasant and quick with a good recommendation. The rooms were quaint and cozy and met our needs perfectly. I can't say enough about the Stagecoach. I can't wait to come back.

A wonderful place to stay with great guidance for seeing the area

4,8 sur janvier 02, 2012

I've stayed at the Inn over a dozen times, and the quality has always been excellent. I've also had visiting friends stay as well, and the innkeepers have always taken good care of them. Liz and Brook Brown have always provided great guidance about local events and places, making the visit to Cedarburg more efficient, enjoyable and enlightening. Having over a dozen menus from the best local restaurants is a great help in finding the right, great meal. And if you're looking for antiques, they can provide in-depth guidance about shops and auctions in the greater Milwaukee area. I'm looking forward to my next time staying there.

Special place to stay in Cedarburg

This inn is so quaint. The owners and very friendly and accommodating. Many little extra touches throughout the inn that make it feel like home. A delicious variety of food at breakfast included with your stay. Will stay here again.

Norman Rockwell couldn't have done better.

5 sur octobre 18, 2011

I've had the opportunity to visit Cedarburg and the Stagecoach Inn several times now. The Inn and the town could not be better matched. The town seems cut from a Rockwell scene, with great shops and restaurants along Washington Avenue to stop and chat with very pleasant Wisconsinites. The Inn brings that quaint comfortable feel that I had hoped for. And the Innkeepers were great. Friendly and engaging when you wanted to talk but knew that I was there first and foremost to relax.

A Lovely Weekend Away

5 sur octobre 14, 2011

I traveled all the way from Arizona to the quaint town of Cedarburg. I was pleasantly surprised at this adorable B & B! The friendliness of the staff, the comfortable room (Room 8), and the wonderful town! I spent the day shopping and exploring the historic downtown, I really loved the Winery and all the shops in the Cedar Creek Settlement, and the Anvil Pub and Grill for dinner. The Stagecoach Inn was the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the lovely Wisconsin weather.

Our stay, truly, was enchanting, mysterious, hot & humid outdoors, cool and inviting indoors. Much needed, full of gratitude & rest now. It was divine!

Room 1

Located on the 2nd floor, in the front of the building, Room 1 is bright with sunlight from two windows looking out on main street views. The wardrobe is one of the heaviest in the Inn, made of iron wood and discovered at a nearby farm auction. Room 1 opens up to the hallway to the coffee station. The window there was used in the late 1800's to pull the luggage through to avoid carrying trunks up the narrow stairs.

Room 7

This cozy room is always a favorite featuring round windows, which are a unique feature of Greek Revival style, and the wonderful lines of the contoured ceiling. Skylights let in the morning sun . The small twin is actually an antique hired man's bed. Room 7 seems to draw guests with it's positive energy.

Room 8

The reading area in this room, which faces the main street, was once part of the housekeeper's small bedroom. When the 3rd floor stairs were moved to be less steep, the small room became part of Room 8. The two round windows are original to the building. Many of the walls are still intact with original plaster and the pine floor boards reminding one of times gone by. This room has a queen bed, a couch and a large whirlpool tub just waiting for guests to enjoy.

Room 2

One of the original rooms on the 2nd floor, Room 2 faces the main street. During the restoration most of the plaster walls were able to be saved. In the late 1800's this room would have been a favorite with great views of the street and the stagecoach arrivals. As the stagecoach arrived, luggage would be pulled inside the second floor through the window since the stairs were too narrow for the guests trunks. Today the room includes an antique wardrobe, a wingback for reading, and a queen bed.

Room 3

Room 3 is located on the 2nd floor toward the back of the building. The twin beds are a favorite for a mother/daughter or father/son or friends traveling together on Cedarburg adventures. The end table was found at a nearby antique shop and the beds from a friend's estate sale. The headboards were built by the current owner. The room opens up to the hallway near the coffee station.

Room 4

One of the original rooms on the 2nd floor. The pine wardrobe was found at a local estate sale. A cozy room with a lovely wing back chair make it very inviting for our guests. All the room doors on the 2nd floor with the exception of Room 5 are original to the building. They were stripped of their paint and refinished. The 2nd floor hallway has original floors, walls, and marks of many travelers.

Room 5

In 1983 when the building restoration began the area where Room 5 is today was the only bathroom for the 2nd & 3rd floors. It contained an old claw foot tub and a pedestal sink. The faint mark on the stone wall shows where the old roof line used to be. Today as you enter Room 5 there is an antique writing desk, two comfortable chairs for reading and a whirlpool tub for relaxing. The queen bedroom is in an adjoing room with the windows facing the back of the Inn. The view includes the old feed mill in the distance.

Room 9

This spacious room was part of the 2nd phase of the restoration. The tall ceilings follow the roof line and give the room a pleasant openness. A comfortable queen bed and an antique sleigh bed adorn the room. The cherry wardrobe was found in a basement in Port Washington. It appeared impossible to move without cutting it apart. Owner Brook looked closely and discovered it was a "knock down". He bought it for $100 and shocked the sellers by carrying it out of the basement in pieces. The large corner whirlpool was brought in through the back window by a lift during construction.

Room 10

Our lovely suite located on the first floor is a two room suite. Ideal for playing cards or games with friends staying in one of our other rooms. It's also perfect for additional guests as there is a queen bed, a twin bed and a full size pull out sofa in the suite. A special point of interest is the tamarack beamed ceiling. It was uncovered after removing 3 layers of false ceilings.
