Perfect getaway place

5 sur juillet 28, 2017

This spacious setup is perfectly located for all the local sight seeing - and the new owner provided additional tips to even a better experience. There is character, charm, and a beautiful view. We stayed in the Celtic room - we were pleasantly surprised with the spacious bathroom and the bed was super comfy too. We look forward to staying here again!

Black Hills beauty and European grace

5 sur septembre 24, 2016

We were floored by the beauty of the accommodations. The owner/architect has created a delightful, luxurious and relaxing lodge. There are suites inside this artistic lodge that are decorated with choice antiques from around the world, some with private patio gardens and hot tubs. We were delighted by the attention to detail, whether in decor or breakfast. The European style breakfast is a fun and gracious way to make acquaintance with host and other guests (our experience was outstanding). A sample breakfast: fresh raspberries and other fruits, topped with yoghurt and crunchy cereal; great breads with excellent blackberry or apricot jellies; thinly sliced choice deli meats and well chosen cheeses; a crustless quiche; freshly baked pear and custard crumb tart; very good coffee and juice. We were stuffed. Location: Spearfish canyon - amazing (similar to parts of Colorado). Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and bison...badlands park. Easy access to Spearfish Canyon, Rushmore, Needles, and not a bad drive to Badlands.

inspiring experience

Beautiful and Secluded

5 sur juillet 22, 2016

What a pleasant surprise when we arrived at Coyote Blues Village. When you book online, you never really know what you will find. The property looks more like a lodge than any BnB we ever stayed. You will drive back a long winding unpaved road to find this gem in the trees. Beautiful rooms with everything you need. Breakfast was fantastic. The BnB is a great central location for touring Mt. Rushmore and so much more. We could have a stayed a week and never touched the surface of what this part of South Dakota has to offer. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I hope I can get back there again soon.

It was a pleasure to stay at the Coyote Blues Village Bed and Breakfast. Christine and Peter Hans the host's were great and the breakfast was wonderful. The only regret we had was they only had one day available, we would have loved to stay the three days. The location is quiet and peaceful we highly recommend anyone to stay there. Thank you

Valentine's Stay

Visit to the Black Hills

4,6 sur mai 28, 2014

Excellent.....One of the best B&B's we've stayed in.

4,6 sur juin 14, 2013

We stayed here for a wedding. It was awesome. The owners directed us to a nearby restaurant where we had an incredible meal... it was filet mignon, sides and this epic beer cheese soup (they wouldn't share the recipe!) and it cost a fraction of what this meal would have cost back home... This is gorgeous country. Sort of amazing. Bring allergy meds, if you're like me, though. :) They get bonus points for their old cat, who is probably not with them anymore... (this would gross some of you out) the little dude was/is deaf, and an outdoor cat. We sat down for breakfast and he came walking up to me and gave me a chipmonk. The owners were mortified, but my whole group was cat people, so this was a high honor. :) I would definitely stay here again if I ended up back in Rapid City. Fun place, very clean (the chipmonk incident was out on the huge back deck where we had breakfast! I witnessed no fresh carcasses indoors!) and very much NOT like a hotel.

Beautiful stay by Mt Rushmore

4,8 sur juin 04, 2013

We stayed at this lovely b&b by Mt Rushmore over Memorial Day weekend. It was very much off the beaten path but it was beautiful. It was surrounded by trees and had cats running around (I happen to love cats so this was a plus for me). The room was beautiful, as was the bathroom. They also had games and a ping pong table that were available to be played. The breakfast was divine. They made frittata for us, and we also had yogurt, fruit, meat, cheese, and bread.

This is Rapid City?

4,2 sur mai 23, 2013

Don't be fooled by the address—this is a country retreat, and the country is beautiful. The inn is very conveniently located for visiting the Black Hills attractions, which I greatly enjoyed. Wildlife in the area is abundant. I left with a much-enhanced appreciation of what South Dakota has to offer. The innkeepers are friendly and interesting. My visit was great.

Many Thanks!

5 sur avril 15, 2013

My husband and I spent two nights in the Lakota Room while we were on vacation in South Dakota. Our room was comfortable. There was a special light at night that could be turned on so there are stars on the ceiling of the room. We really enjoyed the starry night on our ceiling. This room also had a great 2 person jacuzzi tub in addition to a shower in the bathroom. We also had an outdoor patio since we were on the lower level. That was nice so we could enter and exit through the patio. The owners and staff were very friendly. The breakfasts had European flair and were delicious! We were surprised how busy the B & B was when we visited since it was off season in the area. The other guests were nice and the owners did an amazing job with the breakfasts since everybody ate at the same time. The location was great too. It wasn't very far away from Hill City. That was one of our favorite towns in South Dakota.

Pine View Room

4,6 sur septembre 28, 2012

Although the Pine View Rooms are small, they are very nice, clean, and cozy. And the value is terrific! We had a great stay at Coyote Blues. The setting is beautiful, Christine and Hans Peter are lovely people, the food was great, and the proximity to Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, and Custer was perfect. I highly recommend it. Becky

Welcoming and lovely inside and out

5 sur septembre 27, 2012

From the minute we walked in the door, we were welcomed and every comfort possible was laid out before us from snacks to coffee to ice and more. Breakfast was huge and tasty. Hans and Christine built this house to welcome guests and they are friendly and lovely. The house has decks overlooking beautiful woods and animals.A must!

Cozy getaway near Mount Rushmore!

4,8 sur avril 28, 2012

We stayed an evening in this B&B on a cross country drive. It was a GREAT value, the house is beautifully designed on an isolated and tranquil plot of 30 wild acres. The breakfast included an assortment of fruit, cheese & meat platters, fresh breads, cereals, eggs, juice, coffee, and home-made pastries. This is an excellent European-flavored choice from amongst the B&B's in the Rapid City area -- wish we could have stayed a few more days!

Nice Place-Nice People

4,4 sur octobre 13, 2011

We spent 3 nights at this B&B. It is in a beautiful excluded area. Two nights were in one of the small rooms because that was all that was available. The last night was in the Africa room. Both rooms were comfortable but the Africa room was superb. The European style breakfast was wonderful and the owners were very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend this B&B but do try to arrive before dark if possible so you can find it easily.

Cayote Blue was outstanding

5 sur octobre 12, 2011

We stayed at Cayote Blue in mid August. It is in a very scenic area and close to Mt. Rushmore and the Chief Crazy Horse monument. The rooms and ambience are wonderful and the hosts were informative and fun. We would love to go back!!!

Fantastic experience

5 sur août 08, 2011

Our experience at Coyote Blues was unforgettable! Hospitality beyond belief!

Cozy in the Black Hills

5 sur juillet 26, 2011

A secluded yet easily accessible B&B. Wonderful hosts, fantastic food and superb accommodations. The hot tub was ready -- very nice out on the deck surrounded by trees -- lovely.

Wonderful accomodations!

4,6 sur mai 30, 2011

We stayed at Coyote Blues for 4 nights in May 2011 and loved it. Christine and Hans Peter are terrific hosts and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They even DVR'd a TV show we mentioned we wanted to see, and waited to watch it with us until we returned from our day of sightseeing. The room was very clean and comfortable. The private hot tub was great too. The Inn is in a beautiful setting in the black hills and in a great location to see everything this area of SD has to offer.

My GF and I have stayed at the Coyote Blues the past two valentines days. We stayed an additional night this year because we wenjoyed it so much the last time. Although we live less than 30 miles away we really enjoy our stays and look forward to the tranquility and relaxation. We enjoy the lovely surroundings, private hot tubs and beautiful rooms. The rooms are unique unlike staying at any other run of the mill hotel. We travel allot and this is our favorite place. The hosts are friendly and fun to hang out with. We sat and drank coffee on both visits. We love stories of Switzerland. The food is great. My GF is a vegetarian and was offered special non meat breakfast foods. It is a great experience at a good price. We will be back again and again for many many more valentines days .

Return trip

3,8 sur décembre 25, 2010

We have stayed at this bed and breakfast before and had a wonderful time--the return visit did not disappoint! The hosts are so friendly and warm, and their "no need for lunch" Swiss breakfast is fantastic. We will definitely be going back again soon.

Stay Somewhere Else

1,8 sur octobre 16, 2010

We recently stayed at Coyote Blue for 4 nights and would never return or recommend it. I had their "feature" room, the Mediterranean, it was large and the deck was nice but they have a water pump next to the room that sounds like a garage door opener every time someone flushes a toilet or turns on a shower. It is very annoying if you are trying to sleep. The water in my toilet was yellow when I arrived, yuk. They allow smoking so if you want clean country air, forget about it if your neighbor is smoking. The breakfast is ordinary. Even though they have a very expensive coffee machine in their kitchen they rarely offered a cup to our group. When we asked for the fresh brewed java they told us "don't get used to it." The atmosphere at the house was not friendly, we constantly felt like we were bothering them even though we were almost the only people there. You would be better off at one of the many other B&B's in the area. I will never go back.

Sleeping under the stars

5 sur octobre 12, 2010

Sleeping in the Lakota room, seeing the stars, hearing elk bugle in the meadow and walking at sunrise. Life is good at Coyote Blues Village.

Happy to be there

5 sur septembre 17, 2010

A wonderful relaxing stay. The African room was beautiful, the hosts friendly and warm, food delicious. And yes breakfast did last way past lunch. Would definitly stay again and would highly recommend Coyote Blues. Dale and Carole. Pennsylvania

Labor Day Retreat

4,2 sur septembre 11, 2010

Coyote Blue Village B&B is located in a beautiful private setting. The deck was a perfect place to relax after a busy day of and the sightseeing in the Black Hills. The Sunday breakfast was very European and delicious. This was our first time staying at a B&B instead of the usual motel and it was a great first experience. We definitely will consider other B&B stays. We plan to return to Coyote Blues Village next summer and have recommended it to friends.

Was a nice place

2,8 sur septembre 01, 2010

We enjoy our stay. Had a wonderful breakfast out on the deck.

5 sur novembre 18, 2009

I stumbled upon this fabulous 9,000 sp ft house in the Black Hills nestled in the trees. The owners, Christine & Hans, treat you like family. Every room has a theme and is beautifully decorated. I could have stayed for weeks.

Great area. Wildlife in the area. Affordable

Wish We Could Have Stayed Longer!

5 sur août 27, 2009

My husband and I loved staying at this B&B. We stayed in one of the Pine View Rooms, which is cheaper. The room itself was clean & cute, with a nice little bathroom and sink area. Outside our room was a large, cozy living area that just makes you want to curl up with a good book, while looking out into the gorgeous South Dakota country. Guests also can play games, including Ping Pong (our favorite), or watch movies on the large screen TV in another living area, or sit on the back deck and take in the view. The breakfast was outstanding - delicious food just kept coming out of the kitchen in courses...We couldn't believe we got this value for such a low price compared to all the other B&Bs we looked at.

One of the best

4,8 sur août 20, 2009

Christine and Hans Peter Streich graciously host guests in their beautiful Black Hills B&B. A mile off 385, 9 miles north of Hill City, the location is beautiful and peaceful.

Wonderful Vacation in the Black Hills!

4,8 sur août 04, 2009

We were delighted with the beauty, serenity, and quiet of our inn's location. Tall pines, green meadows, wildlife, cool, comfortable weather surrounded us. Our hosts, Christina and Hans-Peter were very friendly, hospitable, and eager to make our visit most enjoyable! They succeeded.

Best in the hills

4,8 sur août 03, 2009

Beautiful, serene and captivating. The accommodations were great & the owners like family. We could not have anything more wonderful for our 50 year wedding anniversary with our family.

Rocky Road

4,0 sur juin 19, 2009

The website is definitely misleading on the type of room you are booking. The check in times are not defined on the paperwork. While driving to the property I called to notify Christine about our arrival and she promptly informed me that i had misunderstood the check in time. Once we arrived the room i booked was like a dorm room. I explained the website did not even have a picture of this room and she was very argumentative about the situation and not willing to negotiate. Once we decided to stay after an extended argument with her the rest of the stay was very nice. The breakfast was an amazing european style breakfast with several courses. Hanz Peter is absolutely amazing with his personality and upbeat attitude. Will not return.

nice stay

nice stay

President´s Day

4,4 sur août 28, 2008

We went for a long weekened and we wished we could have stayed there a month! The inners are really nice and the breakfast was fantastic. The place was full of snow and it must be wonderful at this time of the year

Good Black Hills Location

3,4 sur août 23, 2008

We stayed in two different rooms during our stay. The first one was very basic and crowded once we brought our bags in, but for the price was good. The second room was one of the rooms w/ a patio and hot tub and that one was much better. The breakfast was ok, but not what I have come to expect of B&Bs. The biggest issue I had was all the sheets/towels had a moldy smell that stuck to your skin all day. Overall it was a comfortable stay in a good location.

Night in the Hills ? Black Forest?

3,8 sur juillet 25, 2008

Christine and Hans were very friendly, we stayed in on of the smaller rooms that is available online, some larger rooms available by phone reservation only. Location is very private and not too far from main road, beautiful moonrise viewed from back deck. Quiet/peaceful at night. European style breakfast is neat but different from usual big American breakfast. We had granola, a quiche like dish, a smoothie, deli meats and swiss cheese and watermelon. My one issue was our towels smelled musty like they had been in the room awhile, probably should have asked for a different one but didn't so must not have been a truly big deal. Was able to see some of the larger suites while checking out the next day and they were pretty nice. Overall would stay here again but would try to get a larger suite. If you are looking for a peaceful experience that has a European flavor and some privacy (no other buildings in view from deck) then this is a good fit.

Charming Bed & Breakfast

4,0 sur juin 03, 2008

The hospitality of the innkeepers far exceeded what was expected. Was surprised by the size and excellence of the room, patio and hot tub. Would absolutely return and highly recommend to all.
