Christmas in Pittsburgh was awesome. Staying at the Parador Inn for Christmas was icing on the cake. Ed was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the city and things to do. His website does an excellent job at describing his historic home. Our gourmet breakfast with presentation became our lunch as well. We thought spending Christmas away from home would be tough but Ed, the dogs, Dee, and the Parador created a lasting memory. Christmas Eve by the decorated tree and fire with our kids made us feel right at home. We are looking forward to many more stays at our Burgh home, The Parador Inn.

First time in Pittsburgh - perfect location; lots of information; accomodates special dietary needs if asked in advance; plus lots of fun playing with the dogs. Ed thought of everything!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Parador Inn! We stayed in the Allamanda room which was significantly larger than expected! The innkeeper, Ed, we very helpful. And we loved his two very well behaved black labs. And the location was very convenient to get to great local and waterfront dining. We will definitely stay there again during our next trip to Pittsburgh!

Owner Ed Menzer has lovingly restored this Victorian mansion with a Caribbean accent. This is a beautiful property well maintained and comfortable. A lot of thought has gone into making the guests feel at home - little touches like bedside flashlights, complimentary robes, nightlights, iron and ironing board, hair dryers, printed directions for HD TV, fresh flowers in an empty bottle of Jamaica ginger beer will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Plus Ed and his staff, "Dee", will make you feel welcome. Their home-cooked breakfasts are a culinary delight. Even the two resident Labrador Retrievers do all they can to make you feel welcome and at home! We are locals who wanted to experience aspects of the North Side that we had never experienced before. Highly recommended!.

The Parador Inn is an exceptional place to stay if you're ever staying in Pittsburgh. Ed and his beautiful black labs are as friendly and inviting as the beautiful establishment itself. Our stay was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it!

I booked the African room and it was very roomy with a King size bed and a gas fireplace in front of the bed. Made the room nice and warm. Nice little sitting area near a window ledge you can sit on and look outside! Very tall ceilings that added to the enjoyment. Loved the main common room downstairs that you can sit in front of another fireplace and have a glass of whisky. Or sit in the library and play a board game. A great escape to the tropics in winter with the tropical decor. GREAT restaurants just a block away. Nickys Thai food is a great spot! Ed will offer a discount to another restaurant within walking distance. Stay here you will be surprised.

We have been to many B&Bs. This is our top 5. The history, the ambience and the amenities make it first rate.
This very Victorian guest room has an eight foot high head board over the king bed with matching dresser. And a 42" flat screen TV tucked away over the fireplace. The full private bath has a claw foot tub and shower. East and west facing windows makes this a very bright and cheery room. The west facing windows feature has a window seat with stunning stained glass window. A large desk is featured in this room.
This second floor guest room features a king bed. The bathroom is new, but looks vintage with it's subway tile walls and hexigon tile floor. Working fireplace and large desk. The custom wall treatments of crackled terracotta red and black stripes gives this room a more contemporary look.
This king guest room on the second floor has a working fire place. A large claw foot tub is in the bathroom. A large bay window lets plenty of light in the sky blue room. A working fire place is directly across from the bed.
This suite on the second floor has it's TV tucked away in an armoire across from your couch. The queen bed in the bedroom is a matching burl wood pattern in a scallop shell pattern, the dresser made with the same burl wood completes this striking set. The fireplace is located in the bedroom next to the heated reading nook alcove. The full private bath has a pedestal tub with shower. Look in the closet for the hidden safe behind panel of fake drawers.
The original master bedroom has a very Victorian bed with a seven foot head board and matching dresser. The heated window seat has striking stained glass. The full private bath has a claw foot tub and shower. The rose boarder along the ceiling is original from the 1800's. The fireplace has very unique tile surrounding the fire box is across from the bed.
This huge 869 square feet suite takes up most of the third floor. The re-purposed old storeage room has been turned into the king bedroom. The bed's head board are old storage drawers, with one on either side pulled out and covered as the end tables. The full private bath has a modern tub and shower. The stained glass windows over the bookcase in the living room are four of the only seven original windows from the 1800's. The Franklin stove is located in the living room. The display cases in the front hallway hold original robes from the Knights of Columbus that owned the building for 60 years.
This townhouse has the entire back of the Mansion. Enter through your private entrance off the Veranda and enter your living room on the second floor with the working fireplace. Take the next set of stairs to the full private bath with a shower (no tub) and the bedroom features a queen bed. This bright yellow and purple guest rooms is one of the more contemporary.
This suite is in the Carriage House, over the Ballroom. The Franklin stove is in the living room. The original oil painting of a hillside of Ruellia flowers has a ghost humming bird that only comes out at night. There's a small kitchenette with a wet sink, small full sized refrigerator, table and microwave. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a full private bath with both a tub and shower.
