We spent three nights at the charming and historic White House and were very impressed with both the service and accommodations from the moment we arrived. Kim, the House Manager, greeted us and was quick to reassure us that our room, in the Carriage House, was ready and acquainted us with the White House’s amenities while we enjoyed a homemade berry cooler (non-alcoholic). The Carriage House room, located adjacent to the main house, offered a private and quiet room featuring a comfortable king-size bed and an elegant en suite bathroom that included a dual showerhead whirlpool tub. The location could not have been better for access to the shops and restaurants in the area with an easy 2-block walk to the main street. The information materials in the room included local and downtown dining suggestions with descriptions and contact details. We enjoyed the breakfasts that featured fresh fruit (berries) and corn flake-encrusted french toast (day 1) and eggs benedict (day 2). Since we were departing early on our final day Kim made sure we had a portable breakfast that included fresh fruit and muffins. The spacious dining room in the White House made for a pleasant space to enjoy our morning meal and coffee and was a great space to get acquainted with the other guests. In short, we would happily return for another stay in Portland’s White House the next time we visit Portland!

My wife had heard of this B&B from a friend. Looking it up online she was thrilled with the images they took if the rooms and was able to determine the theme and style if the room she most wanted to stay in. We stayed for 8 nights and 8 breakfasts. We are vegan so we threw the chef for a bit of a loop. He performed marvelously though. I have to say we did not feel left out, most of the time he would even theme ours off of the meal for the rest of the diners. For example quiche with our scramble. Or pancakes when they had waffles. Besides that the staff was easy to connect with, offered a phone number to be in touch and were always happy to offer suggestions and best routes to navigate the area and restaurant suggestions. All in all the next time we are in Portland whether 1 night or another week we will certainly see if they are not already booked up so we can stay again.

The rooms are quite charming with elements of the original architectur, but with newly appointed bathrooms. We stayed in the Balcony Room and loved the little balcony to sit and drink tea or coffee from and watch the day go by in front of the house. It’s private enough to “get away from it all” while still being walking or a Lyft ride away from everything Portland has to offer.

This is a beautiful home in a neat neighborhood. It was a chilly day, but it was very cozy inside. It would be fun to stay in nice weather too because it's a great neighborhood to explore. Breakfast was delicious. Kim was very friendly and available when needed.

The Portland White House is absolutely amazing! My husband is active duty and we were not in the Christmas spirit since we couldn't spend our Christmas with family but these gracious hosts turned that around for us. We could not have asked for a more welcoming and beautiful stay. The staff was just wonderful. To top it off, we had a gourmet breakfast at no charge each morning we were there. We have told all of our friends about the White House and would love to stay again!
