The house is large, historic and well maintained. While Georgetown is certainly not a thriving tourist spot it is quaint, quiet and charming. This is a great place to just escape from the busy world. The proprietor is very friendly and the price can’t be beat. Stay at the Bailey House - you’ll love it.

I grew up in this town, but now live 800+ miles away. Still have family there and love to visit 2 or 3 times a year. We always stay at Bailey House and thoroughly enjoy our time there. Nancy and Stan are such gracious hosts, we love the delicious breakfasts and visiting with them (and their pets, too). Bailey the dog is always "in charge" of the pet friendly house, and the cats Cato and JR help also. Love staying there - seems like family - great hometown atmosphere.

The last four days at the Bailey House have been wonderful! First, though, if you are using Google maps to find the place, put in the name, ‘Bailey House Bed and Breakfast’ NOT the actual address. While using GPS with the address takes you on a lovely drive through the countryside and along a sweet, gurgling creek, the end destination is about 6-7 miles from the house on a lonely, single track road with not a building in sight. That said, there are many great things about this bnb. The hosts are kind, knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious, varied, and traditional American. Be sure to tell Nancy if there is anything you don’t care for or especially like. She will accommodate. The room was large, airy, air conditioned when needed and had lots of windows that I could open at night for fresh air and the occasional refreshing breeze. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and well kept. The grounds are park like and shady. The Grant house is just down the street and the house and whole area is a history mecca. I have been on the road for a while so it was a special treat to ‘visit’ with the family pets who were comforting, friendly, and generally well-behaved. I will definitely stay here again.

We spent three days and two nights in Georgetown, Ohio, at the Bailey House B and B. Nancy and Stan Purdy were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the house (built in the 1820s!), the town (where U.S. Grant grew up) and the area (full of Underground Railway sites). The accommodations were comfortable and spacious, the breakfasts were excellent, and we particularly liked Bailey, the house Pomeranian! We would certainly recommend this B and B to other travelers.

My Dad lives in Georgetown and put my sister and I up here during our visit and it was such an inviting wonderful educational experience! Nancy, the hostess and Bailey the adorable Pomeranian greeted us with a tour of the mansion. The rooms are spacious and fitted with antique and original furniture! I felt like I exited a time machine except there was plenty of air conditioning electricity and hot water. My sister and I shared the room to the right with the bathroom attached, I loved all of the windows and the trees shaded this part of the house even after the afternoon sun came to that side. Every morning eating breakfast with Nancy and her husband was my favorite part. It was a nice change of pace to be served in a formal way, starting with fruit before the main course. We would drink coffee and chat for a while before starting the day and it was such a nice way to begin the morning. I actually felt like I was truly on vacation from life. I cannot wait to stay here again during my next visit.

East Cincinnati hotels were full so we ended up in Georgetown needing a room as the sun set. We were accommodated pleasantly in a room reminiscent of a Garmish, Germany stay many years ago. The city electrical grid failed at 5:15 AM so our host adjusted the breakfast menu delightfully and the morning conversation was delightful. I must admit I was not inclined to do B&B stays. This one will certainly change that attitude.

So open, airy and clean! Nancy and Stan are so accommodating. We had several schedules to keep and they were so flexible. Comfy beds and beautifully decorated.

This place is amazing! I have stayed here twice now. I am blessed to get the opportunity to stay on a work trip. I have never done a B&B before and this was a great start! You can’t get anything like this place. You seriously feel like you have stepped back in time and treated like a queen! Breakfast is out of this world. You dine like you are royalty, SERIOUSLY! Wonderful couple that own this place. I can’t wait to go back and play wit Bailey the pet dog!

We had a wonderful stay! It was very clean and homey! The Purdy's were so hospitable and warm. We loved the historical decor and furniture! But the best of all was their cat Cato! We just loved how he greeted us when we came back. We felt llike we were home! We would recommend it to anyone and especially to families! We didn't get the opportunity to dine in so we will do that the next time!
