My Husband & I love this B&B. We've stayed here 3 times this year, a different room each time, and just love it. The rooms are beautiful and very distinctive.

Recently my fiance and I stayed at the Whistling Swan Inn for the weekend. The room was so intimate, and incredibly clean. The description on the site matched my expectations perfectly! All guests were so welcoming, and very respectful. We had two nights, or the most peaceful sleep we've had in a long time! The Inn Keeper was so wonderful! She is extremely knowledgeable of the area and was able to direct us to some excellent places to shop. She stopped to talk with us during breakfast, and not at one point did we feel rushed or like we were a bother. Breakfast is made on site by the Inn Keeper and it was very delicious! Each morning was something different and each meal was perfect. So pleasant being able to eat outside, and there was plenty of room and different seating areas for people to mingle, or branch off on their own. They definitely think of everything to make your stay more delightful and easy going. I had ordered a private couples massage, and I must say, they did deliver! She was excellent! By far, one of the most professional and friendly people I've ever met! I would definitely stay there again, my fiance and I even discussed it becoming our little thing when we want to get away for the weekend (combined we have 4 children - getaways are very important to us!). Would definitely recommend to others, the entire time I was there I could picture friends and family staying there!

Thank you so much for the glowing review. We do strive to make our guests' experience here memorable. The couples' massage is one of our most asked for packages, and I'm glad it was just what you needed/wanted. We'll look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Mother daughter getaway to Stanhope was enhanced by our stay at the lovely Whistling Swan Inn. We brought dinner to enjoy on the amazing wrap-around porch with fireflies lighting our table. Our room was beautiful with a sparkling new bathroom. We appreciated the complimentary array of cold beverages and snacks at any hour. Our garden side breakfast on the porch was delicious! We enjoyed good conversation with our hostess, Rosalind. We have plans to return in the Fall.

We stayed at the Inn for Fourth of July weekend and stayed in the Walnut Valley Suite. The Inn has well-appointed rooms and peaceful surroundings. The morning breakfast was delightful--you might find blueberry French toast, eggs benedict, sticky buns, and other delicious treats. Innkeepers Roz and Tom are wonderful and great conversationalists. Enjoy resting at the Inn or venturing out to nearby restaurants, wineries, lakes and parks. A wonderful stay!

Spent a lovely night at the Whistling Swan Inn and wished we could have stayed much longer. Our room was cozy and comfortable, the breakfast was substantial and delicious, and there was also a generous offering of soft drinks, coffee, tea, snacks, baked goods and sherry available all day. Though the Inn is situated in a residential neighborhood, it was very quiet and we were able to relax on the porch and sit in the gazebo overlooking the garden, the only sound being water from the fountain and coy pond. Rosalind was friendly and informative, giving us suggestions for places to visit and restaurants to try. We are anxiously awaiting a return visit.

This B&B is top notch, with well-appointed rooms, delicious buffet breakfast which might include such selections as blueberry French toast, eggs Benedict, sticky buns, waffles, cereals and fruit, among other items. Relax on the porch, indulge in a glass of sherry, engage in conversation. Innkeepers Roz and Tom are a delight. Located on a quiet street, you could easily rest at the Inn or venture out to nearby attractions, lakes and parks, wineries and restaurants. We had a wonderful getaway to celebrate our anniversary!

In North Jersey there is just one place to stay: The Whistling Swan Inn. There is a German word that best describes the Inn: Gemuetlichkeit. It takes a-half dozen words in English to translate it; but, it means, warm, cozy, friendly, comfortable, good, etc. The owners, and hostess and host, are Roz and Tom Bruno. They are very accommodating and helpful with special requests and interests of which I’ve had some, such as entertaining guests, ordering from local vendors, and ‘hands-on-help’. Roz’s breakfasts are the best to include special requests. If it’s reasonable and possible, it’s done. The Inn is a great ‘go-to’ destination-great for a quiet long weekend get-away. I think my wife and I have stayed at The Whistling Swan at least six or seven times in as many years.

Terrific bed and breakfast. Very well-maintained. Friendly owners. Really loved it here and HIGHLY recommend!
The Morris Canal Room is located on the second floor at the front of Whistling Swan Inn in Stanhope, New Jersey (NJ). This cozy room has a beautiful queen-size featherbed which pretty much takes up the entire room! Relax to music or watch a movie on the 26" flat-panel TV. Right outside the door is our outstanding selection of more than 150 DVDs. Enjoy the romantic glow of flames flickering from the electric fireplace. The three large windows make this room airy and light. Decorated in French blue toile and deep blue walls, the room has a brand new bathroom, which is enhanced by hand-painted tiles in the walk-in stall shower. When the house was owned by the original family, this room functioned as the nursery, and consequently it is the smallest room in the house. Although comfortable for a quick getaway, because of its size, this room is designed with the solo traveler in mind.
Cool tones of blue/green with snowy white linens epitomize the serenity of this room, making it a veritable sanctuary. Located at the end of the hall on the third floor, it is the quietest room in the house. The room includes a queen-size bed, TV/DVD player and a small electric fireplace. Sink into the comfy club chair to read the latest best seller or to plan your excursions for the day. The private bath has a vintage 5 1/2 foot claw-foot soaking tub and shower combination. Named for the Leni Lenape Indians who once inhabited New Jersey, the Lenape Room is nestled under the eaves on the third floor of the inn. While it is one of our classic rooms, there's nothing standard about this cheerful hideaway. Decorated in soft, warm colors, it features a vintage queen-sized sleigh bed, a bathroom with an extra large two-person shower and a flat-panel TV with a DVD player. Located on the side of the house, the Lenape Room faces our proper English garden, gazebo and koi pond. Guests are lulled to sleep by the burbling fountain and waterfall.
The Orient was a fascination for the Victorians, and the Harmony Suite at Whistling Swan Inn truly reflects their love of travel and exotic furnishings. The room is decorated in vibrant red floral bedding and curtains, set against soothing sage green walls. One of our most popular rooms, the Harmony Suite, boasts a luxurious spa bathroom complete with a two-person Jacuzzi, dual-sided fireplace, heated tile floor and more. After a fun-filled day of hiking, biking or horseback riding, sink into a relaxing bath, turn on the jets and soak your cares away. Scrumptious chocolate-covered strawberries are a decadent treat to nibble on after a long day. Reserve this room and enjoy the adventure! It also includes a private bath with stall shower, 32? flat-panel TV and DVD player.
1940's Paris will swing into mind when you stay in the Stillwater Mini Suite, which is located on the third floor of Whistling Swan Inn. Perfect for your New Jersey business travel or novel writing aspirations, the Great Meadows Room at Whistling Swan Inn is bathed in natural light from the large bay window. Tucked into the corner on the second floor, the room is extremely conducive to either work or relaxation. The Great Meadows is spacious enough to accommodate a rollaway bed, which makes it ideal for friends/relatives wishing to share a room. Reminiscent of the 1930's Art Deco period, handsome furnishings include a queen-sized four poster bed, inlaid vanity and armoire. Relax by the electric fireplace or snuggle up and watch a good movie on the 32" flat-panel TV with DVD player. This large room is one of our most requested! In the middle 1800's this northwest corner of New Jersey was a hub of industry, with goods being transported down the Morris Canal. The original canal town of Waterloo Village still stands in all its glory today, and it is from it that one of our most desirable rooms at Whistling Swan Inn derives its name. Bathed in light from three tall windows, this room has the best view in the house. It overlooks the English garden complete with a fountain and gazebo. No, that's not rain you hear. It's the water from the koi pond rushing over the waterfall. Decorated in shades of blue, taupe and brown, this room has a king-sized bed and of course, a private bath with a stall shower. An electric fireplace, 32" flat-panel TV with DVD player add to the comfort of this second-floor retreat.
Inspired by the grand salons of Europe, the Walnut Valley Suite is located in a peaceful corner on the second floor of Whistling Swan Inn. Decorated in dazzling jewel tones of gold, black, red and green, the Walnut Valley Suite is an excellent choice for a honeymoon or romantic weekend getaway. This soothing, spacious room offers a sitting area furnished with two overstuffed chairs and an ottoman and a custom-tiled Jacuzzi for two. This room is a favorite for brides having their weddings at Whistling Swan Inn, because it has not one, but two full baths with walk-in shower stalls. A host of amenities include a full, country buffet breakfast, complimentary snacks, 32" flat-panel TV with DVD/ player, MP3 player hookup, DVD library, free high-speed Internet access, fluffy robes and so much more.
The High Point Suite is one of the most unique and requested rooms at Whistling Swan Inn. The bedroom is located in the third floor turret, which has a 20-foot-high ceiling. Guests will be pampered with a variety of luxurious amenities including a queen-sized feather bed, lush robes, a gas fireplace, a two-person Jacuzzi tub with picture window, a steam shower, two flat-panel TVs(19" and 32"), a DVD player, and an MP3 player with alarm. And to spoil you even more, you can order a bottle of champagne or chocolate-covered strawberries to put in your own refrigerator. The High Point Suite is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or honeymoon in New Jersey. During Victorian times, ladies' bedrooms had a "fainting" couch as part of their decor where women often rested when becoming out of breath due to tight corsets. Times have certainly changed, but you can still put your feet up on an authentic Victorian chaise to finish that best seller in peace and quie
