I booked this room at the last minute for a weekend getaway. The inn did not disappoint, we got to the inn a little past check-in time and were made to feel welcome right away. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and gave us a tour of the inn and a brief history of the property. The snacks and breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back. Dave&Gail

I just needed a room in the area for one night, but upon arrival I wished that I had more time to spend at the Nutmeg! The proprietors are lovely people, happy to share stories. I didn't get to eat breakfast in the morning, but I'm sure it would've been delicious!

Mark & Lynn can not be any nicer or hospitable! You feel a part of the family immediately. Lynn's breakfasts alone are worth the stay. Mark kept the family room fireplace going all day & it was hard to leave the cozy & warm atmosphere. Lovely people must gravitate there whom we meet at breakfast. I would not consider staying anywhere else in the area!

What an amazing place in the middle of the Lakes Region! We arrived in November to find a beautifully restored historic inn with a fire crackling in the main room (and later in our own room, which had a fireplace with logs waiting to be lit!). Lynne and Mark are great hosts, willing to sit and chat but also able to "disappear" when you want some private time. And, by the way, the breakfast was beyond delicious -- everything was homemade from the granola to the bread to the hearty frittata. We'll be back in the summer to enjoy the pool!

We took an autumn trip through New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont to see the colorful leaves. Every place we stayed was nice but this is the one we keep telling family and friends about. The inn is old, pre-revolutionary war and while it definiately feels old and historical it is also comfortable and inviting. The wood and beams were beautifully Lynne and Mark are very welcoming, nice and talented. They are also happy to share all their knowledge of the home if you are interested. We enjoyed talking with them. Breakfast was a treat and we enjoyed talking with the other guests. We met people from Australia, South Africa and Denmark as well as Americans from around the country. We really enjoyed that as much as the wonderful old historic building. We want to try this inn again in warmer weather so that we can enjoy what appears to be a stunning garden. I have to say also that I was impressed with how unobtrusively utilities were brought throughout the house. We liked our old room with the fireplace although the bathroom was quite cozy. Another hook or two where we could hang some things would be nice. But the shower was hot and had a good steady stream and that's the most important thing. The living room downstairs had the huge old fireplace in it and the weather was cold enough to use it in the evenings. What a treat that was. As to the area we found a lot of things to do and some we didn't get to. A drive into the mountains was beautiful but this is a lake region with nearby Lake Winnipesaukee and lots of nice towns, museums and other sites all around.

After spending nearly a month in New England and staying at several B&B's, this was our favorite Inn by far. It's warm, cozy, and NOT pretentious. It's evident that Mark & Lynne love being Innkeepers. They have created a B&B that feels like home away from home. Their breakfasts are AMAZING! This Inn is 5 star in every category! Location is great! The Inn is beautiful with an incredible history! The Innkeepers are so welcoming! The rooms are beautiful and convenient! The common areas are SO comfortable that you enjoy spending time outside your room. Another plus for me was the fact that they have a small workout room with an elliptical. I didn't have to find a gym to do a 30 minute workout. Anyone would be delighted in staying at the Nutmeg Inn! Cathy- Colorado

This is a lovely historic inn and the innkeepers are wonderful. I needed just a one-evening stay to attend a local wedding, and the Nutmeg fit the bill beautifully. My upstairs, corner room was beautiful and cozy. Breakfast next morning was well beyond the usual -- fruit compote, excellent coffee, homemade french toast on a gourmet level, plus other items (homemade breads, etc) I didn't sample. Highly recommend for a short or longer-term stay.
