Great First B&B!

5 sur janvier 05, 2018

Had a wonderful first time B&B experience at the Wensel House! Highly recommend it!

Perfect stay in Natchez

4,8 sur octobre 30, 2017

Ron and Mimi made us very comfortable for our 2-night stay in Natchez. Their delightful house is on the edge of the old town, in easy walking distance of many historic houses as well as bars, restaurants and music venues. They were both very willing to share their extensive knowledge of the area. Breakfasts were amazing: juice, eggs and bacon, biscuits, fruit etc. Also, the access to complimentary soft drinks or a glass of wine was a lovely bonus. Our only tiny problem was, being on the front of the house, there was a lot of light into the bedroom at night.

Réponse du propriétaire
Thanks for the great review. Sorry about the light in the FRONT ROOM. I may have forgotten to tell you about the wand that closes the venetian blinds on each and every window and darkens the room. Thanks also for the comment on our location. We are centrally located only 2 blocks south of Main Street and 1.5 blocks from the park on the edge of the bluff overlooking the river. The center of downtown (Main and Commerce) is 3 and a half blocks away.

Great B&B!!

5 sur septembre 15, 2017

The inn keepers were the best! They were very informative and knowledgeable about Natchez. They both had a warm hospitality and went out of their way. A great place to stay in Natchez. The location was great and centered perfectly.

We don't know if it could get any better!

5 sur août 10, 2017

This was our first ever B&B stay. The concept always seemed a little too different for us. Now, we feel that our future travels may never be the same! Don and Mimi made us feel comfortable and at ease here. Very nice folks, very knowledgeable about the area and it's history. Even provided us a "cheat sheet" of must do things while in Natchez. The house is very nice, full of all sorts of cool furnishings and antiques. A collection to be proud of for sure. We stayed in the Front Room, but any of the 3 rooms would have been just fine. Each has it's own private bathroom, TV, queen bed, as well as an assortment of period pieces. We were really surprised when we realized that we felt "right at home" lol. The next morning, our next surprise was the wonderful breakfast. Full southern, consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, homemade biscuits, grits, orange juice, and possibly the best blueberry pancakes that I have ever had, complete with real maple syrup. No shortcuts here! Overall, our stay was wonderful. It set the bar for what we think all B&B should be like. We believe that because of our experience here, whenever we travel we be looking for a B&B first, and a hotel second. Thanks again Don and Mimi!

Anniversary Trip

5 sur juin 27, 2017

We adore this B&B. The rooms are comfy, the breakfast is delicious (blueberry pancakes and homemade biscuits), and the conversations are always "enlightening". LOL! This is my husband and my favorite Natchez B&B... when we're there, it always feels like we've come home.

Outstanding small B&B

This a beautiful old home with nice rooms, modern TVs, all well furnished through out with period antiques. The home is very clean, with good climate control and well furnished with snacks and beverages. The breakfast provided is absolutely outstanding. The hosts are some of the most knowledgeable people with regard to Natches and it's history and surroundings, and are wonderful to chat with.

Ron and Mimi are perfect for owning a bed and breakfast. Their attention to details for making your stay as enjoyable as possible is apparent from the time you meet. We both loved the house and the Oak room we stayed in. The location is great and within easy walking distance to the river. We stayed 3 nights and hated to leave and hope to go back soon.

A great place to stay in Natchez

4,8 sur juin 15, 2017

.We decided to make Natchez a one night stay on a 25 day road trip across America. Natchez and the Wensel House Inn turned out to be a highlight of our trip and wish we had planned to stay longer. Ron and Mimi were superb hosts and are expert resources on seeing Natchez. Our room was clean and comfortable and Ron even called and made dinner reservations for us at the Magnolia Rest. at 'Under the Hill". I highly recommend going there at sunset. Breakfast at the Wensel House was superb and they worked to accommodate our early departure time. We would love to go back there sometime for a longer stay.

5 sur mai 21, 2017

This was my second stay here, and it was just as lovely as I remembered! We brought a bottle of wine that we enjoyed on the wrap around porch that was surrounded with huge ferns. Our room was so comfortable with a high antique 4 poster bed and comfy sheets. The bathroom had everything we needed in it and soft fluffy towels. Our breakfast was incredible: fresh fruit, grits, homemade biscuits with an assortment of jellies, blueberry pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, ...chicory coffee and juices. Just delicious!! I will return again ...

Just Like Home Only Better!

Outstanding Stay at 1888 Wensel House

5 sur mai 02, 2016

A great B & B in a great city. The room was perfect for a couple, the entire house a museum, the owners a wealth of knowledge about the city. We have stayed at B & B's in Europe and the US and this B & B is among the very best. We highly recommend this B & B to any and all who visit Natchez. It is a great value and a great place to stay.

Comfortable, clean, friendly and very knowledgeable hosts. Excellent location for walking around the town. Breakfast as very generous and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend. Only caveat is for those with mobility issues, as all rooms are up a fairly steep staircase.

Réponse du propriétaire
Thank you for writing a review of our B&B. I especially like your comment about the "Excellent location for walking around the town." Thanks also for mentioning the "fairly steep staircase" so that others considering our B&B will be aware of that drawback. It is a climb of 13 feet (3 meters) from the first floor to the second floor, where all 3 guests rooms are located.

Great Stay...Awesome Breakfast...Wonderful Hosts

4,0 sur octobre 15, 2015

We stayed one night here in September 2015. The hosts were amazing, the house was close to everything and the breakfast was so yummy (we LOVED the blueberry pancakes)! Natchez was recommended by a vendor of mine and this little spot was a true gem! Definitely take a carriage ride (which literally right across the street from this B&B) and definitely go have dinner at Cotton Alley (I recommend the BOOM BOOM Shrimp). Lots of houses to see and history to learn...pretty cool little town! :)

This was the most amazing place we have ever stayed in! This house is literally a museum and the hosts treat you like family (they sit at the dining table with their guests for a complete Southern-style breakfast) and they give you orientation and recommendations for touring this very historic city. Your room is immense with a high canopy bed and bathroom is like another room. I couldn't recommend this B&B more. And touring the city of Natchez is an education in itself.

Réponse du propriétaire
Thank you for such a kind review. Mimi and I are glad you liked the accommodations and the town so much. Like you, we love Natchez and its history. We enjoy sharing that love with our guests and are really gratified when a guest, like you, appreciates the town and its story.

Favorite B&B in Natchez

4,4 sur juillet 15, 2015

Ron and Mimi go out of their way to make you feel at home. They are very knowledgeable about the city, and give great tips. The house is perfectly located in the downtown area. Only 2 blocks from the river, where you can walk at night to see a beautiful sunset over the river, and only a block from where the carriage rides are located. The carriage rides are fun and only $15 per person. If you are going to Natchez, I would definitely recommend that you go with 1888 Wensel.

Wow! What a perfect review. Many, many thanks for your remarks. I know how frustrated I am in a Spanish speaking country where I could understand what they are saying if they would only speak one word at a time. I know it's difficult to do that but it sure does help a person understand what one is saying in a language that is foreign to the listener. I'm glad you appreciated it. Thanks again.

Fantastic B&B Getaway!

5 sur février 26, 2015

My husband and I stayed here for our 17th annivetsary. It was a beautiful old house that has been completely restored to amazing condition. The nostalgia of the place was great, but it went way beyond that. Our room was immaculate and lovely. It was super quiet and relaxing. Our hosts were super friendly, and we really enjoyed sitting and visiting with them. The breakfast was HUGE and it was absolutely delicious!! Full homecooked breakfast every morning. It was a great retreat for us. We HIGHLY recommend staying here, as you will get great personal quality service that you aren't likely to find at many other places. It was really unfortunate I was only able to stay just one night. The room was wonderful; spacious, spotless and very comfortable. The location was superb; close to downtown, easy to find and well marked. I was welcomed by Ron, and enjoyed Ron's insights into the area. This was my first trip to Natchez; Ron and Mimi made it memorable. Thank you.

Wonderful !!!! 100% recommended!!!

5 sur novembre 21, 2014

We had a wonderful stay at Ron's and Mimi's house. The breakfasts cooked by Ron were pantagruelic and tasty (we will remember for ever the so delicious taste of his biscuits ... really to die!). The bedroom was spacious, very pretty and comfortable with a beautiful antic bed, a big bathroom including all that you need. As a bonus, Ron took the time to give us a lot of great suggestions on places to visit in Natchez and near to Natchez too. Also very helpful, you can relax on the charming living room of the house, reading interesting books on plantations in Louisiana ... etc and selecting the restaurant for your next dinner in town (Ron has prepared a list of the best restaurants in Natchez including the full menu of each one ! ). We really recommend this B&B at 100 %, you will have a very pleasant stay and you will know everything on what to see in Natchez! Thanks so much, Ron and Mimi, for this very pleasant stay in our house !

Wonderful welcome in Natchez

My rooom was spacious and the bed very comfortable; the bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The hosts, Ron and Mimi MIller, were very welcoming and extremely helpful about where to visit so one could enjoy Natchez fully. Breakfast was delicious with many freshly made choices. The house is attractively furnished with many period pieces adding to the whole Natchez experience. I fully recommend Wenzel House for an enjoyable stay. Antonia from London

I am a returning guest. I stayed at the Wensel house in the summer for a weekend getaway and loved the house, the Millers, and Natchez. I decided to return to spend my anniversary there. I plan to be a repeat guest as often as possible.

Simplemente maravilloso!!!

Wonderful get-away at the Wenzel House!

5 sur septembre 19, 2014

We enjoyed our 3-night stay last weekend immensely! The room was furnished in antiques with a comfortable queen sized bed and was very quiet. The breakfast was delicious and filling so much so we only needed a light lunch. The blueberry pancakes were scrumptious! Location is perfect for walking historic Natchez and close to many sites. Ron and Mimi are wonderful hosts and both are a wealth of information about local history as well as attractions and nearby restaurants. We learned so much about Natchez history from talking with them! We would recommend 1888 Wenzel House to anyone visiting Natchez.

The owners are a lovely couple who are clearly Anglophiles and work for the local historical society. We just wish we had been able to talk longer with them about the local area and the US generally. Breakfast was very tasty and clearly a typical old style Southern fare and they did proper English teas.If we visit Natchez again we will stay here again.

Beyond Expectations

5 sur août 23, 2014

We were greeted by Ron at the front door and taken on a tour of the property. We were able to choose exactly what we wanted for breakfast, and it was awesome the next morning. The room was large and very clean. Ron gave us an excellent suggestion for dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed.Mimi and Ron were excellent hosts and we enjoyed talking to them. I feel it was an excellent value for the money! We will return when we are in Natchez again.

Ron & Mimi, the owners, were charming. The breakfast was huge. Room and bathroom were very clean, linens were very soft. I loved staying here and will stay here again for my next trip to Natchez.

A must !

This place is just great ! The hosts are doing everything to help and please you. Ron and Mimi are offering one of the best service I ever seen. The breakfast is just awesome and the house perfectly arranged. One minor issue the bed was extremely noisy. But apart from that it was perfect. A big thank you from France

Great house, great hosts, great value!

5 sur août 03, 2014

My sister and I went to Natchez for a quick one night trip to tour the homes. Wenzel House exceeded our expectations. The house has a simple elegance and we felt comfortable from the minute Ron greeted us at the door. There is wine, water, soft drinks and ice available at all times and the breakfast was DELICIOUS. The hosts have written recommendations and information about things to do and menus from the local restaurants available to review. We stayed in the front room and loved it. This B&B is a great value, you will be very pleased. We are already planning a return trip.

friendly, historic Natchez

4,8 sur juillet 29, 2014

We really enjoyed our 2 days here. The B and B is beautiful, the food is wonderful, and the location is central. There are some wonderful walks around town and historic homes/plantations. Natchez is one of the most friendly towns I've ever experienced--the hosts were great, plus, we'd even get stopped while walking around town and advised on good places to visit by locals.

We loved Wensel House!

5 sur juillet 16, 2014

Wensel House is a very pretty, comfortable, and clean B & B in a perfect location--right in downtown Natchez, close to Silver Street, less than two blocks from the bluff overlooking the river, and less than two blocks from Rosalie. The breakfast was delicious--just what we would have chosen. Ron and Mimi Miller are wonderful hosts--welcoming, generous, and knowledgeable about Natchez, past and present!

Very enjoyable visit!

4,0 sur juillet 13, 2014

The Wensel House was nicely refurbished, clean, and comfortable. The house was also very conveniently located in the town, close to many of the historic buldings and sites of interest. Mimi was a great hostess and full of historical information. For us this was great as we enjoyed asking her questions about the hsitory of the area and many of the homes in the area and she was able and willing to share so much knowledge with us. We had a very relaxing three night stay!

Great overnight trip!!!

A fine Natchez B&B. Some high points: - truly excellent breakfast with many food choices (including veggie) - helpful hosts who are experts on local history and architecture - an easy walk to most of the downtown attraction

We enjoyed our stay at 1888 Wensel House. Our only regret is not staying longer. In fact, we are already planning on our next stay. Ron and Mimi are such interesting people and very informative about Natchez. We loved the home. Breakfast, oh my, absolutely delicious! The pancakes were the best I have ever eaten. The location is also great! Thank you Ron and Mimi for making my birthday extra special with my Mother.

We enjoyed our visit here! Perfect location for exploring historic downtown Natchez and good value for money. Immaculate though spare rooms with beautiful antique furniture. Excellent and plentiful Southern breakfast with all the trimmings of grits, biscuits, etc. Hosts were friendly and as architectural historians offered a lot of useful and interesting info regarding the buildings and history of Natchez. Would recommend this B&B.

Wonderful week in Natchez!

4,8 sur novembre 11, 2013

I spent 3 lovely days at the Wensel House and have absolutely NO complaints. I have stayed in many B&Bs and would rate this one at the top. The rooms were spotless and cleaned every day while I was there. Mimi was so gracious and very informative on several topics I had questions about. Breakfast was very good, there are restaurants very close and parking was no problem. The only thing that did challenge me was the key to the room so I didn't lock the door. But I felt 100% safe and didn't worry. Thanks Mimi for a lovely stay!

Lovely B&B, Lovely Host!

4,6 sur octobre 28, 2013

We only stayed in Natchez for one night but wish it had been more. Natchez was a wonderful surprise and Wensel House is a wonderful B&B. Our host, Mimi was so knowledgeable about local history and couldn't have been more helpful or obliging. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and large enough to keep us going all day! I highly recommend both Natchez and Wensel House B&B.

We only stayed one night at the 1888 Wensel House B&B but wish we could have stayed longer. Felt like a real guest in the most comfortable room with wonderful natural light, and with friendly hosts who made our stay even more memorable because we got to know them a little bit, something we always enjoy. The breakfast was delicious, too. I loved having wine available chilled in the frig. Made the late evening writing I did that much more pleasant. Would stay again anytime.

Fantastic First B&B Experience!

5 sur juin 26, 2013

This was my fiance and I's first B&B experience and we were thrilled with our stay at the Wensel House! Ron met us at the door when we arrived and was supremely pleasant while showing us around the house and getting us familiar with the area. He provided us with a map and list of recommended attractions; which was very helpful. While pleasant, he also knew when to leave us alone; which is very important! The rooms are very spacious and well-maintained. The breakfast was fantastic! We'd highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Natchez in the near future.

Best of Natchez

4,2 sur juin 25, 2013

The Wensel House is a charming B&B in a great location to downtown Natchez. Several antebellum homes and restaurants are within walking distance. The home has a wrap-around porch and a cozy pallor to enjoy a glass of wine or a cold drink. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms. We stayed in the Front Room which had a massive canopy bed and a small twin bed. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and large and had a bathtub and shower. We enjoyed the flat screen TV and the free Wi Fi. It was an extremely hot day, but the house was well air-conditioned. There was free ample parking behind the residence. The breakfast was to die for! We were served eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, sausage, fruit salad, juice and coffee and enjoyed the company of Mr. Miller and his friend who were knowledgeable about the culture and architecture of Natchez. Best of all was Linda, the housekeeper, who greeted us and made us welcome and kept our room clean and spotless. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful B and B experience!!

5 sur juin 14, 2013

My friend and I recently stayed at the 1888 Wensel House B and B and loved it! The house was beautiful, the room was clean, beautiful, and spacious. The breakfast was great. We can't wait to come back to Natchez and spend another night at Wensel House.

1888 WEnsel House a Winner

4,6 sur mai 27, 2013

For value and treatment, my wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay in Natchez at this Inn. The mistress of the residence was full of stories abut Natchez history, past and present. Should we visit Natchez again, we would certainly stay here again.

Wonderful stay

5 sur mai 22, 2013

We stayed at the 1888 Wensel House B&B for two nights in April 2013. It's a beautiful house in an attractive neighbourhood, walking distance from downtown shops and several restaurants. We stayed in the back First Room with the canopied bed - a lovely quiet room at a quite reasonable price for charm, character and atmosphere. And a fabulous breakfast! Mimi was a very knowledgeable and personable host - we'd definitely stay again.

Loved Wenzel House!

One Night in Natchez

5 sur avril 25, 2013

1888 Wensel House B&B was lovely as was owner/hostess Mimi Miller! We did an overnight on our travels to Atlanta from Houston. We checked into the B&B mid-afternoon allowing us time to swing by the visitor's center and purchase tickets to tour one of many historic homes in Natchez. We enjoyed the tour and dinner at a riverbank restaurant. Returning to 1888 Wensel after dinner, we relaxed with a complimentary glass of wine. Very nice room on the second floor was a delight and quite restful. A delicious breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room by Mimi the following morning. We had a grand visit with Mimi while diving into that luscious breakfast. We plan to return to 1888 Wensel House for a longer stay. We loved Natchez and want to see more! Thank you, Mimi. Trudy and Jeff Lynch

Simply outstanding

4,6 sur avril 17, 2013

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful! Our room was very clean and could have comfortably accomodated 3 adults with a queen bed and a twin. My mother and I were very comfortable here with a bed for each of us and a private bath. Morning walks around this neighborhood were a very pleasant start to my day with beautiful historic homes every step of the way. Many of the historic plantations were within walking distance as were many great restaurants. All of the historic plantations were within a short drive. Mimi was a great hostess and pointed us in the right direction everytime and shared her considerable knowledge of Natchez history with us in the mornings. We couldn't have been more pleased and considered the price to be very fair. We didn't even feel like we needed dinner after those breakfasts ...yum!

Highly recommended

4,6 sur avril 10, 2013

1888 Wensel House was a perfect place to stay! The home is beautiful and the four poster bed in our room was a special treat! The home is in a very convenient area and just a short walk to the river . The breakfast every morning was wonderfully arranged and very filling with eggs, grits, pancakes, biscuits, sausage, bacon and fruit! Great place to stay!

Wonderful Experience

5 sur avril 09, 2013

Wensel House is a Great Stay. The hosts are very gracious and make the visit very special. Everything is top notch and so convenient. The historic background is understated and walks along the bluffs of the river are fun. The food is outstanding, both at Wensel and in the surrounding area. We were on a tightly scheduled trip and only able to stay here one night. We are already planning our next visit and will stay a minimum of 3 days and 2 nights. Hats off to this place. Mike and Alonda, Bella Vista, AR.

Lovely Place to Stay

Lovely place to stay, great hosts with extensive knowledge of Natchez, great location and short walk to river, big breakfast, great value.

Simple Yet Charming B&B

4,0 sur mars 14, 2013

Great location-easy walk to bluff and town with its antique and gift shops, cafes and taverns. Also next door to Fat Mama's Tamales/Cantina with their renowned "Knock You Naked" margaritas. Rooms are plain and simple with antique beds and furnishings. Beds are old so expect creaking and squeaks with roll overs etc. Mattresses are comfortable and linens/towels are basic whites. Bathrooms and floors were clean, however, Mimi shared she just started with new housekeeper so detailed cleaning i.e blinds and lamps are "in progress". Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Again nothing fancy and gourmet, however, the best blueberry pancakes and buttermilk bisquicks I've ever eaten. Add scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits , fresh fruit salad, juice and coffee and you won't walk away hungry. A note on location-if you are sound sensitive be aware house is just one place up from main street leading into town (S.Canal Street). You can hear cars and horse hoofs from the carriage rides. Not a deal breaker but trying to be honest. Great value, Mimi is a joy and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Provides town maps, drinks, ice machine and "boxed" wine in the frig. Would definitely stay there again.

Thoroughly Enjoyed!

5 sur janvier 02, 2013

We were delighted with the 1888 Wensel House!! Mimi was a dear, true Southern hospitality, and she provided an abundant Southern-style breakfast, just as promised. Our room was cozy and quaint with period furnishings, just the way we like it. I will definitely recommend the 1888 Wensel House to friends and family and will stay there again when traveling to the Spring Pilgrimmage.

We recently stayed for one night to do a little Christmas shopping, see the Christmas parade and fireworks, and do the Brandon Hall Christmas tour. Our stay was perfect! The room was plenty big for myself, my hubby, and 11 y/o daughter. The location is second to none... close to downtown shopping, dining, and the Mighty MS River Bluff. The FULL southern-style breakfast was the best we have had at any B&B! Grit were to die for! ;-) Can't wait to go back!!

Absolutely top-notch.

5 sur novembre 30, 2012

very conveniently located just off downtown Natchez (as in, like, 4-5 blocks), the neighborhood's perfect and Ron and Mimi couldn't be nicer. the breakfast is great, and the price pretty much the same as or less than the chains in town and across the river in Vidalia. I'm sure I'll be staying there next time I'm in Natchez. couldn't recommend more highly.

Love Natchez, MS

4,2 sur octobre 28, 2012

I had a wonderful visit (although too short) in Natchez, MS. Miss Mimi and Ron were so helpful in giving me ideas for places to visit while there on my short stay. They also recommended several great dining places. Their B & B is in a great location to view the Mississippi River as well as walking distance to most things in town. I never drove my car once I arrived.

We really loved our stay in the cottage in the garden. Everything you need is available in this miniature house. It's certainly a charming place to be. This a great B&B with a great hostess who is a wealth of information. The breakfasts are wonderful and Natchez is a great place to visit. We stayed in the cottage behind the house so we did not see the main rooms in the house. The cottage is rustic but very private and obviously had a great deal more room than in the main house. We walked to most places.

wonderful time at pilgrimage

4,8 sur mars 24, 2012

We were made to feel at home the very first minute we arrived and had the best experience we've ever had at a B&B. The breakfasts were outstanding and the evening hospitality were enjoyable and enlightening. We were fortunate in that during our stay, friends of Ron and Mimi, who are also involved in the historical reclamations and history of the Old South, were staying there and we benefitted from their conversations and their willingness to share information with us made the rest of our trip more enjoyable as well.

Charming, comfortable, and close to everything!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The owners were sweet and hospitable, and helped orient ourselves for our first trip to Natchez. We stayed one night but hated to pack up and leave! And for 3 people, it was surprisingly cheap ! The best surprise of our whole travel in Louisiana.

Weekend with the Girls

Usually with a group of 10 ladies not everyone will agree on a topic but all ten of us were in agreement about how wonderful our stay was at 1888 Wensel House. Every aspect our our stay was top-notch. Mimi's breakfast was awesome! She and her husband were very knowledgeable about Natchez and gave us great suggestions about the best places to eat dinner. The B & B was located withing walking distance to many places of interest. I would diffinately stay here again.

Just what you want in Natchez

4,0 sur août 29, 2011

Old Natchez architecture is perfect for B&Bs but the 1888 Wensel House caught our eye mainly because of the owners backgrounds in historic preservation. The house is beautiful and conveniently located to old Natchez. Parking in the rear, we walked to the bluff over the river after checking in. Mimi had a typed list of sites of interest which was very helpful. Our room had a four poster canopied bed and a very modern bathroom, the best of yesterday and today. We met fellow guests at breakfast, all congenial and conversational. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

Clean, large rooms with huge bathroom. The house is a lovingly restored 19th century Victorian with high ceilings, period furniture and lovely wood floors. The sitting room is a pleasant place to sit and read and sip coffee--or if you'd rather be outside, try the large wrap around porch. Located in the middle of the historic area, easy walk to many mansions and historic sites, the river, the bluff and Under the Hill area and the stop for carriage rides is two blocks away. Ron and Mimi, the owners, are gracious and a wealth of knowledge on city history and urged us to make ourselves at home. The breakfasts were huge and delicious--bacon,sausage, eggs, fruit, pancakes, grits and biscuits. Yum!

The Wensel House B &B was a very pleasant stay with outstanding breakfasts to include wonderful conversation. Mrs Miller was an excellent hostess. Beds were comfortable and location was more than pleasant. Thank you so much!!!

Delightful experience.

If you love old houses and big southern breakfasts, this is the place to stay. We stayed several nights and were sad to leave. The house is very centrally located, within walking distance of many of the tour houses. Mimi and Ron are wonderful, welcoming hosts. Mimi has lots of knowledge of the history of the town. Plan to come and spend some time.

Nothing but the best!

Be sure to chat with Ron and Mimi--they're a veritable Natchez institution, and you'll never know whom you'll find around their breakfast table.

Highly recommend.

Gracious, friendly hosts. Preservation and restoration enthusiasts, very knowledgeable about Natchez history. We stayed in the "cabin" for three nights, which was like having our own private home. The breakfasts were very good. They did not change from day to day, but there were enough items that you could have a different breakfast each day. Prices are far less than staying in some of the large mansions.

A beautiful little house

Beautiful, quiet, friendly in excellent location

We recently visited Natchez for the first time and found 1888 Wensel House on the web. The house is impressive, but even more so when you see the pictures of what it was. Mimi is a terrific, knowledgeable hostess who gave us the straight talk on what to do with our limited time in Natchez. Breakfast was impressive and I'm embarrassed to say I ate everything! One of the guests stays regularly on business and another couple has stayed numerous times. This is always a good sign. I might add that one of the reasons Wensel House appealed to me is that it wasn't totally over the top decorated. The decorating is simpler than most of the other places which may account for the great value - but all in all I find this preferable to the gaudy Victorian decorating.

charming B & B

We had a great stay! The innkeepers are very knowledgeable regarding the area, including restaurants and historical landmarks and the restoration of these beautiful homes....interesting and informative breakfast table conversations.

What a treat!

The 1888 Wensel House is the ideal location for visitors to Natchez. The inn is within comfortable walking distance of historical sites, great restaurants, carriage and trolley lines, and downtown Natchez. Mimi -- our innkeeper -- is gracious and so knowledgeable. She knows the dining options and shares wonderful stories about main street Natchez -- yet she doesn't dominate the conversation. Other guests were repeat visitors -- a clear indicator of the inn's value. Our room was lovely and the breakfast delightful. I only wish we'd booked a longer visit, but when we return to Natchez we'll stay at the Wensel House.

Great value!
