The breakfast was fantastic. The pool just right and generally all I wanted . Ed was kind snd so helpful.

My go-to spot in New Orleans

5 sur novembre 09, 2016

This is a charming spot in a terrific location - quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy all the great New Orleans culture!

Genuine stay in New Orleans

5 sur novembre 07, 2016

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lion's Inn: room, pool, breakfast, neighborhood, everything was perfect!

Lions Inn - A Wonderful Stay

4,4 sur novembre 04, 2016

We had a wonderful stay at the Lions Inn in the Marigny section of New Orleans. Our host, Ed, was very helpful and friendly. A continental breakfast was served outside where there was also a beautiful pond (two waterfalls), a pool and a hot tub. We relaxed each day by the pool after a fun-filled day. The breakfast was continental style but more than adequate. The property was clean and very attractive. Our room was exceptionally clean!

Beautiful Courtyard

3,2 sur octobre 21, 2016

Beautiful courtyard, very nice pool and lovely pond. Nice continental breakfasts. (Unfortunately, no longer offer wine and cheese in the evening due to changes in State laws.) Great location with easy access to good local restaurants, bars, shops, Frenchman's Street and the Quarter. Some of the rooms could do with some upgrading. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Relaxing time

3,0 sur octobre 19, 2016

We had our 2nd stay at Lion's Inn B & B and we enjoy the location, within walking distance from restaurants and nighttime entertainment. The pool area is clean and relaxing after a long day of attending festivals. I do recommend staying at Lion's Inn B & B when you are in the NOLA area.

Always a Welcoming Exsprience

5 sur octobre 03, 2016

I have stayed at Lions Inn several times and I really love the place. It is a ten minute walk to the French Quarter and seven to Frenchman Street. The grounds are a tropical oasis and the rooms are well appointed and clean. Ed and Nipper the mascot are welcoming to all who enter Lions Inn. Breakfast in the morning is enough to get you going for the day. Lions Inn is a wonderful safe, welcoming environment in a wonderful historical city.

Weekend stay

4,0 sur octobre 02, 2016

Ed is a very nice and friendly innkeeper. Lion's Inn was very clean and very inviting. Enjoyed my stay and will stay here again.

Nice gem, just enough off the beaten path

3,2 sur septembre 22, 2016

It's a short walk to the French Quarter, making this a perfect place to get away from the rest of the excitement of the city. Very nice hospitality, and I hate giving three stars, but it was exactly what I expected, and that's what the stars stand for. I would recommend it to anyone. Ask Ed, who runs the place, about restaurants and such.

Lion Inn Review

3,6 sur septembre 20, 2016

Enjoyed my stay at the Inn. Good location/value. Will be back for another stay.

Very nice spot in great location

3,6 sur septembre 11, 2016

About a ten minute walk from the action in the French Quarter, but on a very quiet street. Also not for from a bunch of joints on Frenchman Street. Continental breakfast, but you're better off heading out for something more traditional, like beignets. I would recommend this to anyone.

Nice place, very pleseant service

3,8 sur août 30, 2016

Location ok given the price (barely 10 minutes to the city center by feet). Nice host.

Lions inn

4,4 sur août 28, 2016

Room was wonderful and host was more than helpful. Pool area was amazing. Close enough to to walk to the French Quarter. Will be staying here again.

Quiet, peaceful

4,6 sur août 05, 2016

Very peaceful resting spot afree partaking in a day of walking and sightseeing. Also a nice little cafe if you want a full size breakfast. We walked every day to the French Quarter.

Second time - even better

4,8 sur août 04, 2016

This was my second stay and Lion's Inn and I enjoyed it even more. I stayed in Room 1 right off of the pool and it was like paradise. Very nice and accommodating host and staff. A beautiful neighborhood with a few restaurants, a fairly quick walk to Frenchmen and a little further to Bourbon Street.

June 2016

4,4 sur juin 27, 2016

Stayed here several times as its overall an outstanding property. Rates are good. Management is excellent. The locations is awesome. The entire property is very clean. Thanks again.

Very good choice in New Orleans

4,0 sur juin 21, 2016

Nice location in New Orleans. Ed was helpful when we came in. We had a quiet room on the side of the house. Garden and swimming pool were very well maintained. Excellent choices for breakfast.

The Lions Inn was lovely!

4,2 sur juin 12, 2016

The property is absolutely gorgeous, Ed the host was most gracious and accommodating. The location is quiet yet convenient to the livelier entertainment areas of New Orleans. Would recommend highly.

Lovely place to stay in the Marigny

4,0 sur juin 05, 2016

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Lions Inn. Had heard great things about it from friends and they were right! Perfect location, wonderful host, and a gorgeous pool/garden area to enjoy breakfast or a late afternoon swim. I will definitely choose Lions for my next visit.

4,6 sur mai 30, 2016

Thank you, Ed and staff, for your hospitality. My husband and I had a lovely weekend, and the Lions Inn was a big part of it. :)

Love this place

5 sur mai 29, 2016

My husband and I love this place. Very laid back. Everyone is very respectful, including other guest. One room we really like. They always work with us to reserv this room. It is a peaceful place in the middle of a fast pace world. Sitting out by the poolyou can forget you are in the city. Always feel at home here. Defiantly will return to this bed and breakfast.

Paradise on Chartres Street

4,4 sur mai 27, 2016

When we walked up to the Lions Inn for the first time, there were two guests who had just checked out waiting for a cab. They said "Have you seen the back yet?" "No," we replied. They looked at each other and smiled. "A little paradise," they told us. And it was. This is the perfect b&b for New Orleans. Removed from the craziness, near great little spots in the quiet Marigny, and yet so close to Frenchman Street. The most charming host. A beautiful garden with koi pond, hot tub, ultra refreshing pool. Nice continental breakfast with yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Lions Inn!!!

Lions Inn

4,2 sur mai 15, 2016

Great location for activities in NOLA, with an outdoor oasis for relaxing. Great Inn keeper. Spotless clean. Easy walk to French quarter and hidden gem local dining.

Lions inn

4,0 sur mai 07, 2016

The room was fabulous, the bed super comfortable and the location about 5 blocks from the french quarter. Host was helpful and approachable. Pity the state changed the rule around wine and cheese time.

Nice place to stay

3,4 sur mai 02, 2016

The location is perfect in a quiet street and not to far from action of the French Quarter.

Another great time at the Lions Inn

4,2 sur avril 28, 2016

We always enjoy our stay at the Lions Inn. Ed is a great host. The property is nicely maintained and we can always find parking not too far away.

Relax in the Marigny

5 sur avril 28, 2016

We've stayed at the Lions Inn for several years now, during Jazz Fest and the French Quarter Fest. We enjoy the hospitality, the magnificent courtyard, the refreshing pool and spa, and the eclectic neighborhood. You have the option to explore notable attractions nearby, or spend a quiet day by the pool. We look forward to our stay each year.

Quiet and Relax

3,0 sur avril 21, 2016

A good B&B but some rooms are better than other. Prefer rooms near the swimming pool and the garden. Ed is e vry pleasant host.

4,6 sur mars 24, 2016

Stayed in the huge attic room, which was great (although slanty ceiling might make it a little limited for some taller folks). Loved having breakfast and happy hour wine and cheese in the amazing outdoor patio garden by the pool. Breakfast is continental, but enough to fill you up. Ed is quiet, but nice and helpful. The neighborhood is interesting and you're within walking distance of Frenchman's St. and the French Quarter. Highly recommend!

beautiful patio!

4,4 sur mars 12, 2016

This is a beautiful location in an up and coming neighborhood. Easy walk to Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. Decent continental breakfast and very friendly wine and cheese hour in the very beautiful courtyard. Ed is mild-mannered and low-key but helpful if you need anything. The rooms vary a lot--we were in the attic apartment--which was very nice and big although (obviously) if you're tall you're somewhat restricted by the slanting ceilings. Definitely recommend it!

Lions Inn Review Wedding Stay

4,8 sur mars 07, 2016

The lion's inn is very quite and cozy. The view from our room was amazing and made the experience that much more enjoyable. This was the first time we stayed at a bed and breakfast and would like to do it again next trip.

Une maison très agréable avec un jardin si joli

3,8 sur mars 07, 2016

Un superbe jardin, un quartier calme et très agréable à quelques minutes de Frenchmenstreet. Gentillesse du propriétaire disponible et toujours présent. A recommander

5 sur mars 03, 2016

If you are looking for a clean, peaceful, and very affordable place to stay that is within walking distance of the French Quarter, this is the perfect place! My husband and I stayed for 3 days for our anniversary and we couldn't have found a better place. When we visit New Orleans again, we will definitely stay here!

Loved it!

5 sur février 29, 2016

We loved out stay at Lions Inn! We got lucky to get a room there as a last second Valentine's Day weekend in Nola. Rooms were a good affordable price and cutely decorated, and the backyard was absolutely beautiful. Staff was wonderful and the entire vacation was very hassle free to this. Will DEFINITELY go again!

Great stay in New Orleans.

3,8 sur février 01, 2016

Great location. Easy walk to the French Quarter. Room was great and property was lovely. Enjoyed our stay.

Marvelous B/B

4,8 sur janvier 28, 2016

Wonderful time and great place to stay. Will be back as soon as possible!

Lion's Inn Review

5 sur janvier 14, 2016

This was my third stay at the Lion's Inn, and it was absolutely wonderful! It's such a lovely place to "come home to" after visiting the liveliness of the French Quarter, very serene. I look forward to going to breakfast, I can have a much-needed cup of coffee and bagel accompanied by an easy conversation with a fellow traveler. It is apparent that the pool/hot tub/garden is tended to with care, as even in the middle of winter it is a quiet oasis. I would definitely recommend the Lion's Inn to the casual traveler, or for someone looking for the complete New Orleans experience!

A good value.

3,4 sur janvier 14, 2016

The Lions Inn is a decent value. It isn't fancy in any way. You get a small, clean room, the pool is nice, the staff is helpful and the price is good. Breakfast is continental and the wine and cheese social every night is no frills Franzia and cheddar, but both give you a chance to meet the other guests, which was actually a highlight. The location is also a good feature. It's in a quiet neighborhood, but it's only five minutes walk from the chaos of the party zones in the Quarter. If you're looking for fancy, you may want to book somewhere else. But if you want a quiet, functional retreat for when you finally drag yourself off Bourbon Street at 3AM, and you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for crash space, this is a good choice.

good value

4,2 sur janvier 02, 2016

friendly, great breakfast, location a plus.

wonderful location and host

2,8 sur décembre 03, 2015

it was easy to walk to the french quarter, or the streetcar station, from Lions Inn. Ed was very accommodating when we had to make a change. the only real downside, which nobody can control, was other guests using the hot tub at 2:30 am!!

remarkable and peaceful BB

4,4 sur novembre 19, 2015

A very nice and calm place in New orleans close Frenchmen street Lovely garden and very good welcome in a peaceful street Oliver Rouhen

a good address

3,8 sur novembre 09, 2015

Lions Inn is well located. Rooms not too wide but this is the case in most B&B. Easy FREE parking in the street (a + in N-O). Ed is a nice person who has been precious in reserving outings. From 5 to 6 pm free wine, cheese and biscuits. Lovely garden well tended. Nice swiming pool (not heated). A good address !

Very Pleasant Stay

4,2 sur novembre 06, 2015

Lovely host and wonderful breakfast. Stayed in sunroom which had a beautiful view of the garden, but was a little noisy when people are sitting right outside the door. Overall, charming getaway in a great location. Would definitely stay again and have recommended to friends.

New Orleans Stay

4,0 sur octobre 25, 2015

Beautiful property, very helpful owner. We loved our stay.

We'll stay again!

3,8 sur octobre 25, 2015

We stayed in Room A with a kitchenette and bathroom. Perfect size room with plenty of storage. Ed is a gracious host and the property is very comfortable. Within walking distance of the French Quarter, this was a perfect spot for us.

Great place to stay.

4,4 sur septembre 21, 2015

Always have a good time here. Wish I could afford to stay there more often.

Great location, hospitality, and decor -OUTSTANDING

4,0 sur août 29, 2015

I couldn't get the rating system to let me click on "outstanding," but that's what Lions Inn is; it's a great value for great service and comfort. We recently spent five nights at Lions Inn while going to Satchmo Fest and visiting friends in New Orleans. We've stayed there in the past and return because of the homey, clean, comfortable rooms, the lovely kitchen/dining room where the breakfast includes Greek yoghurt, fruit, dark roasted coffee, options for breads and cereals, and more, and they serve wine and cheese and salsa and chips every afternoon at 5:00. There's a kidney-shaped pool that's surrounded by lush greenery, and the whole backyard is nestled away from noise. The innkeepers are gracious and generous - and the price is very good, too. We'd highly recommend the place!

Great Place

4,8 sur août 20, 2015

This is the second time I have stayed at the Lions Inn. I really like the place. I feel very welcomed and comfortable. The area is nice. The Lions Inn is a clean and safe place. The pool and garden area are beautiful. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The owner Ed is always helpful and welcoming to all. The Inn attracts a great mix of people and all are welcomed regardless of who you are. In the late afternoon there is a wine and cheese gathering which gives everyone a chance to say hello to one another. If you are more of a private person you are welcomed to grab a glass of wine and return back to your room. I return to New Orleans often and will always stay at the Lions Inn.

Great stay!!!

5 sur août 12, 2015

Great place. Very clean, good location and excellent staff. Definitely recommend staying here. We will be back again!!!

Authentic & Affordable in Great Location with Sweet Pool

4,2 sur juillet 17, 2015

We stayed for first week of July in Room C, which is the attic level. Big room, big bathroom, prompt A/C. Went in the pool every afternoon - perfect temperature! Took out the free bikes several times, an ideal way to get around New Orleans and see a lot. We like the 5pm wine & cheese hour to socialize with the other guests outside. Great location - easy walk to sightsee, eat, ride streetcar. Feelings Cafe on corner has wonderful historic courtyard dining and excellent dinner. Pablo & Fremon

5 sur juin 11, 2015

Super bien situé, parking dans la rue sans problème, très calme. A 10 mn à pied du quartier français. Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Hautement conseillé.

Lions Inn is a gem

4,4 sur juin 04, 2015

The Inn was a lovely oasis..close enough to the Quarter, but a quiet retreat from it all. The proprietor made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay special. I will stay there again the next time I'm in NOLA and highly recommend the Lions Inn to friends.

Lions Inn May 2015

4,4 sur mai 29, 2015

Our stay at the Lions Inn was great. Ed is a gracious host. He upgraded us when another room came available at no extra charge. Both rooms were very clean and attractive. The gardens are fabulous. We were made to feel very welcome and at home. I will definitely stay there again!

You can't go wrong

4,0 sur mai 27, 2015

We spent a week here for Jazz Fest and it felt like home. Great location, off-crowd local neighborhood; comfy spacious room, quiet cozy pool/garden, mellow mood; room service every day, nice helpful staff, good breakfast.

Wonderful Lions Inn

4,8 sur mai 22, 2015

Our stay in NOLA was so wonderful & the Lions Inn was a BIG part of it! Ed, the owner was very nice & helpful. The B&B was clean, affordable, and very lovely! We used the bikes available to explore the city. It was great to come back in the evening and take a dip in the pool and relax. I would most definitely stay there again. Thank you!

Another wonderful stay

4,6 sur mai 21, 2015

I've stayed at the inn many times, it is an oasis when you need a break from the crowds. Ed and his staff provide a very clean, friendly and lovely place to lay your head and relax. Can't wait to return!

First trip to New Orleans

3,6 sur mai 08, 2015

This was my first trip to New Orleans and the first time staying at a bed & breakfast. After my experience there, I will go again! Ed was very accommodating and the Lion's Inn was most comfortable. The housekeeping crew kept the place immaculate. The pool, hot tub and seclusion created by all of the landscaping created an ambiance I will not forget. Sitting by the pool in the morning, sipping coffee was so relaxing. After this trip it will be hard for me to stay in a hotel again. Thank you for creating a great memory for me!

Excellent Service

3,4 sur avril 29, 2015

This is a lovely setting in a residential neighborhood with distinctive architecture. There is a clean pool and a natural and well-landscaped pond as well. When I experienced difficulties, management was responsive and helpful. I appreciated this greatly. I would recommend this B&B.

Quiet, quaint and conveniently located.

3,6 sur avril 16, 2015

Warm welcome, good documentation available, nice pool/garden area, and there are free bikes available, biking around was fun and convenient! The inn is very well kept and clean. Breakfast is abundant, however I would suggest serving coffee made with local beans, or use Cafe du Monde or at least a better than average brand. This simple detail makes a difference for most well traveled guests. I will come back!

Easter in New Orleans

4,6 sur avril 11, 2015

We had a great weekend. This is the fifth B&B we have stated at in NOLA, and the best so far. The room was small, but who cares. The pool area was very nice and the conversations with the other guests was great.

great place to stay, within walking distance to everything.

4,8 sur mars 29, 2015

The only disagreeable thing was the smell of dog in the kitchen. I think Ed's dog likes to mark the kitchen. Other than that it it a great place to stay.

A nice stay

2,8 sur mars 28, 2015

A small room but clean and where you feel good. A wonderfull courtyard full of water and vegetation, really nice for breakfast outside. The guest doesn't speak a lot but in the other hand it's areally quiet place. Would come back there for sure!

Pleasant experience

4,0 sur mars 24, 2015

This place certainly has a lot of charm! From its safe location to the rooms, the comfort, and especially the owner's hospitality, is admirable. It was my first time in New Orleans and the stay definitely made it more unique. Lion's Inn is in good proximity to the French Quarter and Jackson Square. A lot of good eating places there, and of course fab music. My friend and I mostly walked to places, we only needed public transport to visit the swamp and to go to the Museum of Art. I would recommend this B&B to anyone travelling to New Orleans, without hesitation.

Loved our stay at Lions Inn!

4,0 sur mars 23, 2015

Great location, good value and wonderful service. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy to find. We will definitely stay here the next time we come back to New Orleans!!!

First time in New Orleans

4,0 sur mars 19, 2015

I stayed in this adorable little place March 11-15. I had Room D which was just above the balcony-it was small which is what I expected. It had a huge window that I usually had wide open because it was so nice and cool out. The bathroom was shared and across the hall. The continental breakfast was more than enough to fill me and the coffee was delicious. There was also a little coffee and pastry shop just down on the corner that was also lovely. Would totally stay here again my next trip out!

très satisfaisant

3,6 sur mars 07, 2015

endroit très agréable ,surtout un peu plus tard dans la saison , un peu froid en février , mais si l'on marche c'est mieux ,

Sejour inoubliable

The perfect place to stay

4,0 sur mars 06, 2015

The Lion's Inn is just the perfect place to stay, not far from the French Quarter, close to Frenchmen street, quiet neighborhood. Ed is a gentleman

Mardi Gras

3,8 sur février 24, 2015

Clean, quiet, great place to stay, I would stay again

Pleasant stay

3,8 sur février 21, 2015

I stayed 2 nights in the Sun Room that is separated from the other rooms so that one feels quite nicely secluded. It has a view of the back garden and pool and a private entrance. It was very spacious for one, clean and comfy. The bathroom is a couple of steps up and I found this arrangement a little awkward. Breakfast, which I only had once, was DIY toast, bagels, packaged yoghurt and fruit, entirely adequate but nothing special. I loved the neighborhood--lots of great places to eat and drink, lots of character and charm. All in all a pleasant stay.

A real gem

4,6 sur février 18, 2015

I am so glad we found this lovely B&B to stay in in New Orleans. It is very close to the French Quarter and Frenchman Street, but far enough away for noise not to be a problem. The room was very comfortable and although the bathroom as not en suite it was just across the hall. There was a good range of stuff for a continental style breakfast and lovely outdoor space with a swimming pool and a hot tub. I was ill during my stay and the owner, Ed, could not have been more helpful or supportive, finding a local doctor and providing advice on pharmacies, clinics etc. He has an excellent, dedicated and intelligent staff who keep the place spotless. Unlike British B&Bs we had the run of the place 24/7 with our own keys for daytime and night-time use.

February stay at Lions Inn

3,8 sur février 17, 2015

Lions Inn was a convenient location and excellent value. Bedroom was comfortable and quiet and bathroom was clean. Beautiful backyard retreat with a hot tub, pool, pond. Unfortunately when we were there it was too cold to enjoy the pool. Breakfast and wine and cheese hour left something to be desired. Breakfast options were Thomas bagels, eggs, cereal, toast. I was hoping with the bakery just down the street there would be some fresh pastries in the morning. Wine and cheese hour was Franzia and standard cheddar cheese and Ritz crackers. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to have, but I feel like if you're going to offer these things you should do it right. Overall I would definitely recommend Lions Inn because it's a great value and very convenient.

Such great potential, but...

1,8 sur février 13, 2015

This place is in a wonderful location with a pretty garden. But everything about the decor, towels, service reeks f someone who is absolutely indifferent to the guests. Crappy towels, bikes in miserable condition, general unfriendliness. We spent half a day of our vacation walking a broken bike to get it fixed. Ungracious to the extreme. Towel not only frayed, but hole the size of a golf ball. A shame. Could be great.

Excellent Value for Money. Great location.

4,8 sur février 05, 2015

I really enjoyed my stay at Lions Inn. It was quiet, affordable, safe, and a short walking distance to the French Quarter.

Excellent Marigny B&B!!!

4,6 sur février 05, 2015

We were happy to find The Lions Inn listing on! We booked Room C. Larger than expected, clean, great bathroom and the house is in a perfect location to enjoy Cake Cafe, Feelings and The Friendly Bar! Great price too! Will definitely book here again!!

Peaceful place--great for the solo traveler!

4,6 sur janvier 27, 2015

I loved staying at the Lion's Inn! As a female traveler on my own for a few days in New Orleans I was worried about finding a place for the right price, close to everything but not in middle of it all--this place is it! Ed was a great host--I had charming little room w/ shared bath, and a continental breakfast set-up every morning. It was cold when I was here so I did not get to use the pool, but in the warm weather it would be an awesome perk. The Lion's Inn is a few blocks from Frenchman's street--so easy to get home at night if you like to go listen to live music, eat or go to the art market. The French Quarter is about a 10-15 minute walk--I loved being able to easily walk over, but be able to come "home" to quiet place. I would definitely stay here again, traveling with friends or on my own.

Excellent B & B

4,6 sur janvier 01, 2015

Our stay at Lions Inn was pleasant and excellent. Highly recommended

Remains a great property and good value

3,6 sur décembre 18, 2014

Don't take my "average" comments as unflattering: I've stayed at Lions Inn before and remain pleased with the property. The innkeepers are consummate southern gentlemen, "happy hour" (wine and cheese 5pm to 6pm) is a nice way to start the night... and typically continues well past 6pm. My room was well-laid-out, comfortable bed and luggage storage. Didn't use the pool or hot-tub (the pool isn't heated; it's December) but their well-kept and completely convenient. Parking can be challenging in the neighborhood... until you get to their block, where poof! Always a spot. If you're looking for a hot breakfast (for example, I had to leave very early the last morning), there's a great breakfast spot at the next corner. So... give the place a try. You'll be back.

Super B&B

Really close to the French quarter, this b&b is cheap, rooms are clean and the house is very nice ( swimming pool and garden). Do not hesitate!

Lovely Inn with first rate well kept rooms and a gorgeous and peaceful garden. I will return whenever I find myself in New Orleans. Mary Hansen

Diamond in the rough

3,6 sur décembre 02, 2014

The area looks deceiving, however it is so close to the French Quarter and the location is perfect for getting off the beaten track and to experience the real "New Orleans" Ed was a perfect host, quiet and non-intrusive, but there if you needed advice or assistance. The back yard is a hidden paradise and wished we had more time to spend there.I would highly recommend the Lions Inn and will be referring it to my friends and family.

Cute little room

4,6 sur novembre 10, 2014

I booked the lions Inn to be in walking distance of a Continuing Education class that I need for work. The location of the end was easy to get to & I was able to park my car & walk were ever I needed to go. I absolutely adored the the kitchenette that was in my cozy room. Iwill definitely will be back there.

A hidden Oasis!

5 sur novembre 09, 2014

Stayed here with my boyfriend in October, we were in room A with a small kitchen. The room is in the front of the main house, pretty quiet considering you`re on the street but the neighborhood is pretty low key. Outback you have a small oasis, very tropical with swimming pool & hot tub, nice place to relax. Great places in the area to eat are the Cake Cafe for a full breakfast or lunch, and upstairs at Mimi`s for dinner. You can walk to Frenchman st.,or walk to the trolley station.I would definitely stay here again.

5 sur novembre 06, 2014

Ed, Ethan, and Nipper were great hosts. Our needs and questions were always met with genuine warmth and interest. Our room, with a view of the pool and beautiful garden, was clean, comfortable, and cozy. Hope to return soon and would request the same room if possible.

Wonderful B&b, could use more designated parking and a bigger sign

4,8 sur novembre 06, 2014

The parking is probably an untenable issue, but it took three drivebys to see the sign. However those are minor things. The room was perfect, the bicycles were leg and time savers, and the hot tub was the perfect end to a long night on bourbon. Will definitely attend again.

Quiet Good.

4,2 sur novembre 03, 2014

Nice people, beautiful place and quiet quarter within 5mn walk to french market.

Charming B&B

4,0 sur octobre 23, 2014

A Jewel in New Orleans.

5 sur octobre 19, 2014

Everything about Lion's Inn was so enjoyable. The garden/pool area is superb: beautiful, relaxing and a great place to mingle. The proprietor was wonderful. Breakfasts perfect. Great location in the city---very close to trolley but calling for a cab worked very well also. No hesitation in returning....actually can't wait!

Great Place to Stay!!

This was my 4th time at Lion's Inn , and again, I love it!!!! We stayed in the Sunroom, again, and it was wonderful. The rooms door has direct access to hot tub and pool. Of which I'm a huge fan!!! Ed, the owner/operator , is always on hand for suggestions regarding New Orleans info, and is very attentive to customer needs. The Lion's Inn itself is just a short walk from Frenchman Street, where there is tons of activities, clubs, restaurants, etc....... I cannot wait till next time!!!!!! Anamaria Y.

Very good value

3,6 sur octobre 16, 2014

The calm of the house being though perfectly located to visit the city, and enjoy night life, the outstanding garden and swimming pool make this property quite perfect for travelers during summertime. Our host was very nice an discret at the same time.

Greatest B and B

4,8 sur octobre 13, 2014

Just love this place and Ed dies an excellent job of making your stay a welcomed one

Great oasis

3,8 sur septembre 29, 2014

Great location - 5 min walk to Frenchman St, 15 to French Quarter. Beautiful pool, complimentary wine & cheese each evening - met great people during this. Breakfast was continental & quite satisfactory. This will be our go to place for New Orlwans from now on. Can't go wrong for price and location - the pool was fantastic to cool off each afternoon.

backyard oasis in the city

4,4 sur septembre 25, 2014

The bed was so comfortable. The backyard oasis pool area was the perfect antidote to Burboun St. The room very clean. The towels were a bit old and thin though. A very enjoyable stay.

Best place just outside of the French Quarter.

4,0 sur septembre 05, 2014

Four blocks to the French Quarter ,the open market or the trolley station. Everything was clean, nothing needed repair. Back yard has a garden ,pool and hot tub , just like the pictures.Free breakfast , For the money , it's as good as it gets.

Wonderful stay!

4,6 sur août 28, 2014

I stayed at the Lions Inn for a birthday trip I took to New Orleans. The Inn was absolutely gorgeous, had a great location, and was really tucked away, even though it was in the heart of the city. My room got upgraded, which speaks towards the customer service. Ed remembered how my dog was uncomfortable in front of other dogs and was sensitive about that...incredible!!

Best neighborhood and very charming place to stay

5 sur août 25, 2014

The neighborhood is great, right next to the french quarter with a lot of nice restaurants and cafés. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom very clean with towels. The pool and garden was very charming. Delicious breakfast every morning. And the owner was very welcoming. We'd definitely go back there.

nice stay

Quiet place in a charming neighborhood, with a very professionnal team, and a great pool !

Loved our stay!

3,6 sur août 07, 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend and loved our time here. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a long day of walking around NOLA. Our room was nice and clean and the breakfast was a no-frills spread of fruit, bagels and cereal. Hot, fresh coffee and orange juice too. The owner, Ed, was helpful in every way possible. We'll definitely be back!

July 2014 Visit

3,4 sur juillet 10, 2014

The hospitality and service were great. The landscaping and pool area were my top features of the B&B. It's also only a short walking distance to Decatur Street and the French Market. I would definitely stay here again.

Love the Lions Inn

4,4 sur juillet 10, 2014

The Lions Inn is my favorite place to stay in New Orleans and I have always enjoyed my time there. My only complaint about this stay this time is that I was relentlessly attacked by mosquitoes while in the lovely backyard. They bit my head, my face, my fingers, just EVERY WHERE!!! I had a bad reaction to the bites and had to see my doctor when I returned home. This is the first time that I have ever experienced such a situation. I had put on repellent but it did not appear to work very well against these creatures!!! With the pool and the pond, I guess they have multiplied. It made my stay difficult. The bites became inflamed and swollen. I just never had such an experience!!!! I had been in NO for a week prior to coming to the Lions Inn and had not been bitten once. I thnk they should do some sort of spraying to take care of the problem or I won't be able to return:-(.

B&B very pleasant

4,4 sur juillet 05, 2014

very nice place, beautiful and welcoming environment.

4,6 sur juillet 04, 2014

Great place to stay. Very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Respectful of privacy and everyone was nice. Shares the same block with great restaurants and shopping. Just close enough to the French Quarter to enjoy a walk through the neighborhoods of New Orleans. Very Clean!

Back to New Orleans

4,8 sur juillet 03, 2014

I have stayed at LionsInn several times...traveling solo. The hospitality has been great. The only comment I would have to say is Room D's air condition unit could be updated....especially when it is incredibly hot on some days. ALSO, the Inn us to cater to gays a bit more. I have seen a lot mor Str8 couples staying there now....which is understandable.......because of the great quality.

Fantastic Stay

4,8 sur juin 16, 2014

Walking distance to Frenchman street and French quarter. Owner was hospitable and always helpful. He accommodated our changing needs. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Nola. We loved taking a dip in the pool and enjoying wine and cheese hour. Can borrow bikes. Great stay!

Great place to stay

I really enjoyed my time there. The accommodation was excellent staff wonderful. You were made feel welcome and the place quickly became home. I would definitely stay there again. Best place to stay.

Lion's Inn is the hidden gem of New Orleans

4,2 sur juin 11, 2014

The Lion's Inn's selling point and biggest asset is the beautiful courtyard and pool. It was so so nice to have a pool to swim in during a hot and humid summer afternoon. This inn is very affordable for New Orleans standards especially considering there is a pool, all other aspects basically meet the value. The rooms are very clean and have some charming details, I did notice the towels were very shabby and our room on second floor was extremely dark. I also would have been nice if they would have turned on the AC unit prior to our arrival, it was so hot in our room I could barely breath for the first 30 minutes. The breakfast was serviceable but nothing really special. But really, I am not in New Orleans to sit in my hotel room and there are beignets to eat and so many good brunch places in the neighborhood to check out. Speaking of the neighborhood, The Lion's Inn is in a great neighborhood especially if you are trying to avoid the super touristy areas of New Orleans. It is a really easy walk to Frenchman St and the French Quarter and we felt comfortable walking back late at night. The Lion's Inn is great for the money, I would highly recommend it!

Very Charming

5 sur juin 03, 2014

We loved the charm, hospitality, wine and cheese, quietness, breakfast choices but especially its short distance from Frenchmen St., where we ate great food and listened to great music. Also easy walking distance to French Quarter.

Great stay

3,4 sur juin 02, 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lions Inn. The room met our expectations and we were very pleased by the great patio and pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was very convenient to visit New Orleans.

Brilliant B & B

3,2 sur juin 01, 2014

Most unusual scenario , with the location being off the beaten-track , but nonetheless absolutely great to be away from the madding crowd , but within walking distance of the required facilities !!

Wonderful B&B

3,6 sur mai 30, 2014

Ed does a great job of running the bed & breakfast. It is alway very clean.

Great place to stay

3,8 sur mai 29, 2014

This is an oasis of tranquility in a splendid location close to the French Quarter. The olde-worlde setting makes for a relaxing atmosphere, enhanced by the communal eating arrangements. A charming extra touch is the nightly cheese and wine hour. But its greatest asset is the owner. Ed is just amazingly helpful and accommodating-nothing is too much trouble for him. I would encourage anyone visiting New Orleans to consider staying here. Splendid!

A quiet place close to the amazing French quarter

4,6 sur mai 28, 2014

Location very convenient for quick and easy access to downtown. Very attentive innkeepers, comfortable rooms, lovely garden and the daily 5h to 6h with wine, cheese and krackers. An address that we highly recommend. French family, may 2014

great option, would return again

4,6 sur mai 21, 2014

good location, great host!

We simply loved our stay

5 sur mai 20, 2014

One of the best place we have been in the US! The room and bathroom are nice and clean, the hot tub and swimming pool are likable, and the guesthouse is in a charming neighborhood only 10 min walk from frenchmen street and the french quarter. You can take bicycles from the guesthouse, which we highly appreciated! I would definitely recommand this place.

May stay

3,8 sur mai 15, 2014

The Inn was an oasis, it is close enough to the quarter and public transportation to be accessible, but it is not noisy, and the street is a quiet one. The back yard is gorgeous, it matches the picture as advertised and the stained glass in the house is beautiful. Ed and his staff were welcoming and helpful. The Inn overall is clean, the kitchen and breakfast ares very tidy, however there are some edges that could use some more attention, the rim in the shared shower, dusty curtains, rugs that could be cleaned, and cushions that need to be replaced. That being said, I would easily recommend the Inn to any traveler, single or family.

Enjoyable and unique.

3,6 sur mai 14, 2014

Enjoyed our weekend stay at the Lions Inn. The room and inn as a whole was clean and tidy. The staff was fairly friendly. The breakfast was nothing fancy, but worked. Would certainly consider staying there again.

Lovely Stay

4,0 sur mai 14, 2014

My friends and I rented two rooms this past weekend and had a lovely stay.... Nice affordable and clean place with a very friendly staff... The only thing I would change is the check out time (11am) which is very early after a hard night! I would def stay here again :)

Oasis in New Orleans

5 sur mai 08, 2014

The Lions Inn was a retreat in the heart of the Marigny. Lounging in the courtyard poolside, you were unaware of the rest if the city so close. Relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect way to wind down before bed. The hospitality was amazing and there were many things to do within walking distance. Comfortable rooms, excellent service, and amazing ambiance have us wanting to return soon.

Perfect location in a peaceful part of New Orleans

3,4 sur avril 23, 2014

Chose the pool room here on anticipation of hot weather - it was not the Lions' Inn fault that it was a bit chilly but the pool and garden are jungly and peaceful to sit in just the same. A nice place for guests to sit and meet each other. Room not huge and a bit dark but with good lights. A little underfurnished for my taste - could have done with a second bedside table and a bigger wardobe long enough for a dress with more than 3 hangers. We had also expected coffee making facilities but maybe this was our mistake - we were however able to use a microwave in a nearby room (down the outside passage). The cleaning service was good and we were able to get a load of washing done for $10. Breakfast was plentiful and help yourself served in a nice kitchen-diner or outside. We were there for 5 days and it did not change. Maybe a variety of pastries and breads and juices on different days would be nice. Useful Wifi. Most important - this place is in a wonderful leafy road within easy walk of Frenchman, the Mississippi and the French Quarter. There is free on-road parking. Its location is fantastic though you can hear train whistles at night which are sometimes disruptive to sleep - bring earplugs if sensitive. The hosts are welcoming. Recommended!

Calm, relaxing, beautiful.

4,8 sur avril 17, 2014

This B&B was absolutely beautiful. So charming, with the serene pool and amazing courtyard landscaping. Perfect location, just blocks from the french quarter yet quiet enough to still feel like you're on a vacation. Ed was so friendly and accommodating, we truly felt like valued guests. Obviously we'll stay here again during our next visit.

I Love the Lion's Inn!

3,6 sur avril 15, 2014

I love the Lion's Inn and would definitely stay there again! It's clean, the back patio and garden are beautiful, the neighborhood is quiet but close to the Quarter and lots of great bars/restaurants/galleries and coffee shops.

Lovely B&B

4,8 sur avril 09, 2014

We just had an incredible time during our stay at the Lion's Inn. It is tucked away in a beautiful/artsy neighborhood with the cutest little cafe's, but is still within walking distance of all of the hustle and bustle that the French Quarter has to offer. The inn keeper was a gracious host, and the pool/hot tub area was like a hidden oasis. I will definitely be going back to this B&B, and highly recommend it!

a lovely place, that I enjoyed thoroughly

Great place! Would stay again!

4,2 sur avril 02, 2014

I would like to commend Lions Inn for their gracious hospitality. Due to an error, our reservation date was wrong, but the kind folks at Lions Inn accommodated us very graciously, even upgrading our room at no additional charge. The location is fantastic for a nice walk to the French Quarter without being in the middle of it. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Lovely setting

3,8 sur mars 17, 2014

WOW, such a lovely setting awaits you behind the green gate. You would never expect this tranquil tropical place would ever be awaiting guest with a sense of wanting a no typical New Orleans experience. It is perfectly positioned just outside the Chaose zone of the French Quarter. Apartment A is like being in your own place. With easy in and out access, it's perfect for those that want a little more privacy for the romantic stay , or those of us that want to party into the wee hours of the morning. Ed is so welcoming and friendly. It's like staying with good friends. You have to experience the Lions Inn. We cant wait for Mardi Gras 2015. Going back to Lions Inn.

Top Notch

5 sur mars 15, 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Lions Inn while in town for a concert. We stayed in the Sun Room, which has an outside door and is situated nearest to the hot tub and pool. We were able to access our room through a locked side gate, which was very convenient for us. This room also has a private bathroom. Very, very clean! The owner was very polite and knowledgeable. Wine and cheese are served everyday between 5-6pm, which we loved! Will definitely stay here when we are in NOLA again!

A convenient gem

3,6 sur janvier 12, 2014

The Inn is conveniently located close to the French Quarter and right in the heart of Marigny district, within walking distance of almost anything you'd want to see and do. Our only complaint was that they don't know how to make a good cup of coffee! First morning the coffee was lukewarm and tasted like it had been made a week ago. Fortunately, the Cake Cafe is diagonally across the street and makes fabulous coffee and breakfasts and pastries. Other than that, we had no complaints. We enjoyed our stay.

Our First Vist to New Orleans

4,2 sur novembre 28, 2013

The innkeeper, Ed, was very hospitable. He even offered to take care of our dog while we went out for dinner. We really enjoyed the afternnon wine and cheese get together and the opportunity to chat with Ed and some of the other guests. The yard was beautiful, but we were unable to enjoy the pool and hot tub due to the unusually cool weather. Ed said that we must have brought the cold temperature with us from Canada. The B&B is on a quiet residential street close enough to walk to the French Quarter and only a block or so from a couple of great little restaurants. We had dinner at a nearby restaurant recommended by Ed and the food and atmosphere was excellent. We would definintely stay at the Lions Inn again in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Kathryn and Andre (Ottawa, ON, Canada)

Lions Inn is very beautiful hotel close to French Quarter. Ed provided very professional service to us. Our family feel very satisfied and enjoyed everything. Very healthy breakfast and afternoon red wine; pretty lovely backyard (garden) including SPA tank and swimming pool. Definitely, we'd stay there or recommend our friends to stay there when next visit.

Not bad.

2,8 sur novembre 20, 2013

This particular BB was perfect for me because I only needed it for a one night stay, and they eye opener for me was the price of an affordable $60. To my surprise when I got there my room was upgraded to a room that was above $60 since no one was going to be there. It was my birthday so maybe he was being nice. I'm not picky and was fine with what was offered. The communal bathroom was a little weird, but being that I was there solo It wasn't as weird. It was clean. There door was a little see through with the cracks in it, so I feel that needs to be replaced, other than that it was a nice bathroom. The location is very convenient to the quarter and the rest of the hot spots in Nawlins'. I do suggest bringing a bike if you dont want to walk. The walk to the quarter is about 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace of walk. Parking absolutely sucks but I found a spot and left my car there the whole time and walked everywhere else. I give this spot a solid B. It does offer a hot tub and pool, but the weather was too cool for me to jump in but it is definitely offered. Breakfast is offered but I was sleep, lol.

Lions INN is very well situated in a quiet part but no more than 10mn walking from french quarter and french market which are THE places to visit in New Orleans. And at less than 100m from the B&B there is a very good restaurant. The swimming pool and the SPA (of the BB) are very good and can be enjoyed at any time. The owner is very nice, helpfull and the 5 to 6pm wine and cheese he organises every day allow to make friendly contacts with other peolple from the B&B

Well-located in attractive low-key Creole Cottages neighborhood of Faubourg Marigny, near great eating (Cake Cafe, Feelings Bar & Restaurant, Schiro's Creole & Indian food). We had spacious Room C with 2 queen beds, & windows both sides of house. Enjoyed socializing with the other guests at 5pm wine & cheese hour, great that bikes are available to take out. Lower price makes it possible to stay in New Orleans for a whole week. Pablo (Santa Cruz CA) & Dennis (Portland OR)

Wonderful service and staff. I have already recommended Lions Inn to several people from Chicago.

Better than luxurious hotels :-)

4,6 sur novembre 01, 2013

I stayed in Lions Inn for 9 nights attending a conference in New Orleans. My colleagues who slept in impressing Hotels wanted to Change place with me as I told them about the comfortable house, the wonderful garden, the warm atmosphere as well as about pool and hot Jacuzzi. I asked for glutenfree bread for breakfast - and what I got were three different sorts of bread (for "variety". I was deeply impressed by this and felt at home in a foreign City. Would go there again and deeply recommend it to everybody who wants to have a very nice shelter in this active city full of life....

Lions Inn was delightful

3,6 sur octobre 27, 2013

Lions Inn was perfect for the two nights we spent there. The room was comfortable, internet worked very well, pool and garden area were relaxing. The social hour was a great way to connect with others staying there. And access to bikes was greatly appreciated. Plus I forgot my charger in the wall and Ed did a great job making sure that I got it back. I would stay there again.

Gorgeous Garden

4,0 sur octobre 27, 2013

I had the Sun Room, looking out into the garden. With the two pools, the exotic plants, the hot tub and the evening wine and cheese--all just outside my door--it was a wonderful location to stay and relax. The clientele for this B & B was a really fun and sophisticated group and my stay was super relaxing.

Nice stay in the Marigny

3,6 sur octobre 24, 2013

I've stayed at the Lions Inn on several occasions and have always had a good experience. The location is great and the owners are helpful but not intrusive. The swimming pool and fish pond are very relaxing for a drink or too while enjoying the complimentary wine and cheese hour. The bikes where very helpful to get around the Bywater/French Quarter. The inns motto: "do what you like but please do it quietly" sums it all up.

Value for money

3,0 sur octobre 15, 2013

When our taxi driver was taking us to our accommodation we started to worry that we would be miles out of the way from anything. After settling in and getting our bearings we found all we needed was a short walk away. New Orleans is a very walkable city and by also using the Street Cars you can cover a good distance to all the major areas. We also did a few organised tours to more outlying areas. Our room was clean enough and I would call it 'quaint'. We did have everything. A small but comfy bed and a basic bathroom which was up 3 large steps. The pool and jazuzzi were available although other guests smoking outside in this area limited our enjoyment of the nice tranquil environment Ed has created. Ed was helpful when asked but very quiet and didn't interact with us very much. If you are looking for budget accommodation and not expecting the Ritz, then Lions B&B will do you very nicely.

Why I keep coming back -

4,6 sur octobre 15, 2013

The Lion's Inn is the spot to stay in the Marigny. Ed is the perfect host at the perfect spot. The pool is crystal clear and the koi pond has a resident terrapin. There were too many mossies for us to spend too much time outside enjoying the landscape, but it was lovely to look at. This was my 4th time here, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Nawlins. There is a perfect breakfast place right across the street, and you're staggering distance to Frenchmen Street and its clubs, but far enough away that it's super quiet and restful. Ed is great, and really went out of his way to make my friends (first time visitors from the UK) feel welcome and well oriented to the city before I arrived late that night. Can't say enough about it!

Very good !!!!!!!

Still one of the best places to stay in New Orleans. Outstanding in every way. The review from forces you to give a dining rating which is not applicable. It is bed and breakfast, but that is not dining! The breakfast is simple, the coffee and orange juice top notch.

the garden with the pool with direct access from the room was brilliant. The service was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very basic, the rooms adequate but the cleaness especially in bathroom was still bearable. Cleaness and maybe breakfast should be impoved, then it is really to recommend. The rating about Dining is not applicable because there is no possibility for dining there. It's just the poor rating page from Bed&Breakfast where you can't leave not applicable items out.

Not only is this property gorgeous and aestically pleasing to the eye, all of the people who work on site are wonderful. This is a favorite and whenever we are in NOLA, we stay here.

Great few days at the Lions Inn

4,8 sur août 17, 2013

We had a great few days at the Lions Inn. The pool and garden were very pleasant and the location was very convenient for the French Quarter and some on the restaurants in Bywater.

A wonderful stay at the Lions Inn

5 sur juillet 17, 2013

Beautiful pool area with loads of tropical plants. Nice, clean rooms. Walking distance to everything in the Marigny and French Quarter or, if you aren't into walking, a $5.00 - $6.00 cab ride to the Jackson Square area. The breakfast was nice and there were plenty of options - bagels, toast, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. We met lots of wonderful people that were also guests here and spent quite a bit of time with them. The wine and cheese hour in the afternoon is great. Stay here when you are in New Orleans. You won't regret it.

Next Time I'm In NOLA, I'll Stay at Lions Inn

4,8 sur juillet 08, 2013

Really enjoyed my time at Lions Inn. It was clean, the proprietor, Ed, was helpful and friendly, and its location was ideal - within an easy walk of the French Quarter craziness but situated in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood. Simple continental breakfast each morning, wine and cheese hour from 5-6, complimentary bikes, a clean pool and hot tub in the backyard (open 24hrs), and a clean and simply furnished room. I shared a bathroom but that was never a problem (the only complaint I have, honestly, is that the little hotel shampoos they had weren't great, and I mean I'm super happy that that's my only complaint). I only stayed 2 nights, but I would happily stay for a week. This was a great way to experience NOLA for the first time and I would recommend Lions Inn to anyone. Be sure to also check out Mimi's, great local dive bar just around the corner, for good beers on tap.

Enjoyed My Stay

4,2 sur juillet 04, 2013

I was in New Orleans for my Goddaughter's wedding and decided to stay in a B & B rather than with family or friends. The mother of the bride and three friends all had rooms. The Lion's Inn was perfect. It was conveniently located. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the courtyard and pool. I will definitely be back!

Our anniversary trip to New Orleans

3,6 sur juin 17, 2013

Our first trip to New Orleans to celebrate out anniversary and we chose the Lions Inn because we did not want to stay at a hotel but instead be close to the French Quarter but far away to get a good night sleep. The staff was friendly and pleasant. Our room and bathroom were kept clean. It may not be for everyone, but it was exactly what we needed. Plus it was only a short bike ride to the country club which had the pool, spa and jacuzzi features we wanted. We plan on returning the Lion's Inn for our next stay.

Steps away from Frenchmen St. & Quarter

4,4 sur mai 26, 2013

This was our first time to NOLA and we are so happy we chose The Lions Inn! Perfect location, we could pretty much walk every where. After exploring all day, it was refreshing to comeback to the lions inn and sit in the beautiful tropical garden by a pool and soak in the hot tub. The rooms are very nice and Ed is a gracious host! I would definitely recommend The Lions Inn to anyone ! ( and have already )

Great stay at Lions Inn!

3,8 sur mai 23, 2013

The B and B is on a quiet street just a few blocks walk from Frenchman Street. It is a beautifully maintained property with a lovely small pool and hot tub in the back. Our room was very small but also very reasonably priced. (you get what you pay for-- yes!) Ed (our host) was kind and very helpful. The breakfast is definitely better than the standard continental breakfast. There is always fresh fruit of some kind and Greek yogurt, nuts, cereals, hard-boiled eggs and all the typical bread products. I would definitely stay there again-- it is an excellent value and the location is very good--very easy commute to JazzFest for instance.

Great Staying

3,8 sur mai 20, 2013

We enjoyed the pool, the breakfast, and the sympathy of our hosts.

Comfortable New Orleans Bed and Breakfast

4,4 sur mai 20, 2013

Stayed at Lions Inn for the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Location is convenient for accessing the Jazz Festival and evening shows in the Marigny and Bi-Water sections of New Orleans. On street parking is easy to locate within one block of Lions Inn.

A little paradise

5 sur mai 16, 2013

We visited Nola and we stayed in Lions Inn : it was a great pleasure to know Ed and have breakfast in his garden. Sorry for my very bad english. It's a lovely placet close to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street (for the jazz).

3,8 sur mai 14, 2013

The B&B is very close to the French quarter. It has a spectacular garden with the pool and Ted is a very nice guy. Our Room (room C) was big, clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

wonderful B+B with a very nice garden

3,4 sur mai 02, 2013

This B+B is about 1 mi. from Bourbon Street and in the nearer neighbouhood to Frenchmen Street. It´s in a quiet street and you can find always easy parking space for your car. It has a wonderful garden with a pool and a hot tub, relaxing chairs and towels for free to use. the rooms are nice and offer enough space. Internet is not available in the room, therefore you have to go to the pool or the kitchen. The breakfast buffet is in the main building and is self service. We felt safe at every day and nighttime.

Ed, the perfect innkeeper.

4,4 sur mai 01, 2013

Ed was a quiet constant presence making sure morning breakfast was delightful. he also was very accommodating regarding our luggage and our travel schedule. The pools and grounds very inviting and made our trip much more enjoyable, especially coming home to a tropical paradise and dipping my feet in the pool after many long miles walking the french quarter!

My favorite pool and patio

5 sur avril 29, 2013

The Lions Inn is a charming B&B with a beautiful pool enclosed within a tropical patio. When we weren't eating out or going to hear music, we spent most of our time outside on the patio, where we had both breakfast and happy hour (on the house). The inn is well located near the nightlife on Frenchmen's Street and within walking distance of the French Market and Jackson Square. The innkeeper is organized and thoughtful.

Lions Inn New Orleans

4,0 sur avril 25, 2013

We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms while at KBIS. Ed was friendly and helpful. Being from NY his softspoken approach through me off. Helped with all we needed. The patio is just lovely and the coffee was good. Would stay there again any time.

Hidden gem in the Marigny

4,2 sur avril 24, 2013

This really is a hidden gem. We have stayed here twice and had a great experience both times. Ed, the manager, is the sweetest man. I mentioned it was my partner's birthday and he had a cake waiting for us when we arrived. The rooms are spotless and the grounds are beautifully landscaped, plus the pool and hot tub are very clean and a nice retreat from the busy day. Each morning there is an extensive continental breakfast (coffee, yogurt, eggs, bagels etc.) and a wine and cheese social hour each day from 5-6. The place is quiet at night so even if you are a light sleeper there shouldn't be a problem. The Wi-Fi is free, it doesn't reach all the way to the back of the pool area but I just sat up front when I needed to use it. The neighborhood is a relatively quiet and safe artists community. Just 10 minutes walking to the Quarter but Lion's Inn provides free bikes if you need them. There are also several coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within a few minutes walking as well. Great location away from the crazy quarter but easy to get to. Be sure to check out Cake Cafe across the street, Bacchanal Wine in the Bywater and The Country Club (clothing optional resort) about a 15 minute walk down Chartres. We can't wait to come back and stay here again.

Good, but not perfect.

4,0 sur avril 23, 2013

The room was immaculate, and very well set-up; the mattresses were a bit on the too-soft side, but that is a matter of taste. The proprietor was welcoming - and stayed up for a prearranged late arrival - but is somewhat aloof. We did think that the breakfast was very ordinary for a foodie city. Overall, a good experience.

3 nights in New Orleans

3,2 sur avril 22, 2013

We have spent 3 nights at Lions Inn B&B, everything was OK except a small problem in the toilets of the room, which has been rapidly solved by the owner. The wine and cheese at 5 PM was a nice moment, and for the breakfast we had everything we needed, and even more ! The location in Faubourg Marigny is very convenient, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the French Quarter and 10 minutes to Frenchmen Street where you can hear very good music. For visitors from Souchern Europe : be careful, after 8.30 PM you will not find any place for dinner in the surroundings ! We recommend this place.

Lovely place!

4,6 sur avril 21, 2013

What a lovely place to stay!! The host, Ed, is very sweet and helped me a lot. The place is beautiful, pool/yard, you feel like home. Totally coming back the next time I'm in NOLA. You're gonna love it!

Absolutely superb.

4,4 sur avril 21, 2013

If you are researching several different options to stay in the Big Easy, you can end your painstaking search (and research) now. The location is outstanding. Ed, the owner, is super nice. We stayed in two different rooms, and they were both excellent. The price was the lowest of every place we researched. Parking was free and no problem. The breakfast part of this "Bed and Breakfast" is lacking from other B&B's I've stayed in, but it in no way will deter me from not coming back here. It's basic continental breakfast (cereal/juice/coffee/bagels/toast/fruit, etc.) Nothing fancy, but for the price, I wasn't expecting a made-to-order hot breakfast. Wine and cheese hour is an awesome bonus -- if you can pull yourself away from the rest of New Orleans, that is! Backyard has a pool and hottub, which I never got around to using, unfortunately, but will next time I'm there. The Koi Pond is a nice relaxing place to read. I am a picky/grumpy traveler, and I had zero problems here. From the location, to the service, everything well exceeded my expectations. If you are leery because of the inexpensive rates, don't be. You will NOT go wrong by staying here.

Highly recommended!

5 sur avril 17, 2013

Everything is very good: situation, rooms, service, garden... JP, Waterloo, Belgium.

Our trip to New Orleans

3,8 sur avril 13, 2013

Our stay in the Sun Room what delightful. And the staff was very helpful.

A B&B that feels a little like being home

5 sur avril 12, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay by all means. It is a lovely and quite place close to french quarter. Also good for relaxing. But it is Ed, the owner, who makes the place special. Thank you, Ed! If I come to Nola again, I'd stay in this oasis again.

Great stay at Lions Inn

4,4 sur avril 09, 2013

A large group of us stayed at Lions Inn for a week at the end of March. Ed the innkeeper was very helpful and friendly. Every day Ed puts out a cracker and cheese plate for wine hour. It's very simple but a nice extra for a place with such reasonable pricing. Breakfast is an extended continental breakfast and is great too. The courtyard is beautiful and the place is very clean. Maids come daily. The location is a bit further but still walking distance to the quarter. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The price can't be beat!

Tropical oasis in New orleans

4,6 sur mars 29, 2013

Really nice outdoor gardens with palm trees, bamboo, gardens, pool, hot tub, fish pond, plenty of seating. Wine n cheese tray available between 5 n 6. Breakfast in morning in the main house. Rooms were nice for new orleans. I've stayed several times in the city. Mini fridge with rooms. Soft drinks available . Host was friendly.

Nice in NOLA

4,8 sur mars 28, 2013

What a very special palce to stay while in NOLA. Reccomended by a friend, I was not dissapointed. An easy walk to the quarter, but nicer, a few blocks from a few choice jazz bars and restaurants. Ed could not have been nicer and the dog Nippers even left my ankles alone. Highly recomended!

Can't beat the location

3,8 sur mars 25, 2013

We didn't spend much time at the B&B, it was more of a home base for us, but I have absolutely no complaints and would be back again. The room was everything it needed to be, the back patio is beautiful and comfortable, the room was clean, and Ed was very nice and accommodating. Lion's Inn is at a great location because it is a short walk from the Quarter, especially Frenchman St. but it is far enough away that street parking is both free and readily available. It is also a mostly quiet street. Highly recommend the Lion's Inn for a fair priced, enjoyable NOLA getaway.

New Oleans stay

Review of Lion's Inn

4,0 sur mars 11, 2013

We had a great time in NOLA largely due to our stay with Ed at the Lion's Inn. The room we stayed in was more spacious than I anticipated and had an attached bath. Ed provided a very nice continental breakfast each morning as well as a wine and cheese get together in the evening, which was really nice for unwinding and getting to know other guests if you wanted. We found this a great "extra". The lovely garden in the back is a wonderful interlude from the city. Also, it's very conveniently located within four or five blocks of the French Quarter - an easy walk. Ed was also very helpful in providing local tips and anecdotes about NOLA and the area, including where to eat and things to see. He was also very helpful when our flight was cancelled due to a spring storm out East. He helped us get accomodations and let us stow our things while we passed time. All in all I highly recommend Lion's Inn to anyone wanting a NOLA vacation. You can't do better.

Nice place to stay

3,2 sur mars 05, 2013

Really pleased with the inn and will be recommending it to friends that are visiting New Orleans this summer.

4,8 sur mars 02, 2013

Great Place! Would recommend it and will stay again if I am in the area!

A great place to stay!

4,4 sur février 28, 2013

I stayed at the Lions Inn B&B for 4 nights and was thoroughly happy with my stay. The owner, Ed, was very friendly and accommodating. There was a nice continental breakfast every morning, and every afternoon there was a wine-and-cheese hour for those who were around. My room was clean and comfortable, and even though I had to share a bathroom with an adjoining room, it was well worth it for the price. I also enjoyed sitting out on the patio, taking a late-night hot tub and dip in the pool, and meeting the other visitors staying there. The location in the Marigny is great. There's a great little cafe down the block for breakfast/lunch if you want more than the continental breakfast, and it's about 7 min by foot from Frenchmen St. (and all the great music). The French Quarter is also a hop, skip, and a jump away. The walk to my conference at the Convention Center every day (ca. 30 min.) was lovely (and safe!) and allowed me to see a lot of the cool parts of New Orleans (including the French Market, which is also very close). There is a selection of bikes to choose from, though the pedals were falling off mine, and the chain fell off once too. (But at least you know no one will steal them!) I would highly recommend the Lions Inn for anyone looking for a pleasant stay in a great location. Plus there's a discount if you stay for 5+ nights.

A taste of real New Orleans living!

4,4 sur février 27, 2013

A delightful bed and breakfast in one of the classic new orleans neighborhoods just outside of the French Quarter. Rooms were clean, and comfortable...not large. Our room had private a bathroom, which we would insist on when we stay there again. Breakfasts were simple but complete continental style (no hot rolls as mentioned in other reviews, but not a big deal). The back courtyard was delightful and it was fun meeting with other guests and chatting over the wine and cheese party held each evening at 5 PM. A lot of fun! Much preferred this experience to the 'usual' large hotel on or near Canal Street. Would definately go back! To experience New Orleans like a stay at the Lion's Inn. Parking very easy too!

Love the Lion's Inn !!!!!

5 sur février 23, 2013

Once again, a very pleasant stay at Lion's Inn!!!!! This trip, I discovered a lovely gym around the corner, at good daily rates! We were given bicycles to use to peruse the city. The hot tub was wonderful, as usual! My sister came to visit, and they even allowed her to use the hot tub, and served us wine and cheese as we soaked away the day's walking!!! This is my 3rd visit to Lion's Inn, and I'll definitely be back!!!! Thank U Ed and Floyd!!!!!! Anamaria

Mardi Gras 2013

4,8 sur février 20, 2013

We had a wonderful stay at the Lions Inn! The grounds are beautiful and the accommodations are unique; perfect for an authentic Nawlin’s vacation! The owners were beyond accommodating and so very friendly :) As I often travel to New Orleans I will definitely be staying here again! It suites all budgets and can even accommodate for a single traveler! Easy walking distance to the best spots in town and best of all, you are surrounded by the history, architecture and essence that makes New Orleans one of the most magical destinations on earth! Thank you for letting us stay!

Great stay in Faubourg Marigny

5 sur février 09, 2013

Super friendly staff, beautiful house and even more beautiful backyard where I enjoyed breakfast every morning, very clean. Continental breakfast included, don't expect anything fancy but it still does the trick and the coffee is good. Crossing Elysian Fields at night wasn't the very best experience as a lady traveling alone but the neighborhood itself is very friendly, borderline hipster-y in a good way. I would definitely go back, just not by myself.

Lions Inn - LOVELY!

4,6 sur février 07, 2013

We brought a large group to stay at Lions Inn for Carnival. Ed was fantastic--very helpful and the rooms were lovely. We would definitely stay at Lions Inn again!

Great place; perfect location

3,6 sur janvier 31, 2013

We stayed in a cute little apartment they offered down the block. Didn't include the breakfast so cannot rate it. Had a small kitchen which let us make sandwiches and such, avoiding the hassle and expense of going out all the time. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful antebellum home w gracious hosts

5 sur janvier 25, 2013

I stayed in their tiniest room, but it was 2ce as large as it appeared in photos. The house is immaculate, and all renovations have been done by highly skilled artisans. The owners are not bean counters. Guests are welcome to linger over the continental breakfast and to position their computers around the cozy kitchen table any time of day. In a lovely historic neighborhood w many art galleries, coffee shops, and bars. Very close to a full-service grocery store w a grill. I really can't imagine a more perfect place to stay.

What a Surprise!

5 sur janvier 25, 2013

I've never written a review before now, but felt strongly that I must share this little secret B&B with others; my wife and I like to stay in small B&Bs or Inns. We do not like large, cold hotels. But trying to find a B&B in New Orleans is very challenging. There are thousands! After shortening my list of possible places to stay to around ten, I came across a review for the Lion's Inn in Fodor's travel guide. I threw out my list, and went with the Lions Inn. This Inn was wonderful! From the lovely Sun Room (our room) that faced out to the garden area. The garden, with giant plam trees, flowers, a large fish pond with water falls, swimming pool, and more. The abundant continental (plus) breakfast was a great start every morning. Last, but far from least was the owner and innkeeper Ed. Not just friendly, but KIND, caring about your very need. For those of us that are cost conscious. This B&B is inexpensive, what a value!!

Pre cruise stay

4,2 sur janvier 15, 2013

Excellent location and great service

3,6 sur janvier 09, 2013

This B&B is a wonderful place to stay. It has a pool and hot tub, wine and cheese in the afternoon, and a friendly staff/owner who is available for questions and pleasant conversation. It is located down the street from a wonderful bakery, and a short walk to the center of the French Quarter. Be sure to request a quiet room if you need it, the Sun Room can be a bit noisy as it's right next to the kitchen.

The perfect stay

4,4 sur décembre 22, 2012

My boyfriend and I had the perfect stay at the inn, and the owner was fantastic, and so helpful. The complimentary cheese and wine hour also allowed us to meet the other guests and socialise. The rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable, and the location is great!

Loved everything about this place. they were very friendly, and it was very private and cozy. loved it

Great location, great value, great choice!

3,8 sur novembre 25, 2012

After an extensive online search, I decided on the Lions Inn mostly because of the back garden, which was beautiful, and the pool and hot tub. Even though it was too chilly to use them (for our comfort), we enjoyed sitting out back. We stayed in room 3 (king/twins), which was small but comfortable and the bath across the hall worked for us just fine. Breakfast was more than ample, with cereals, bagels & toast, fruit, hard boiled eggs and enough other self-serve items to find something for everyone. We were within walking distance of the Quarter and the streetcar line as well. We would definitely stay here again!

You should stay at Lions Inn

5 sur novembre 23, 2012

On my recent trip to NOLA I had booked in to stay for 2 nights only at Lions Inn, but as soon as I got there I felt happy, safe and at home. So I booked 2 extra nights, and canceled my other reservation! The breakfast is lovely, the rooms are perfect and there's 2 great coffee places nearby. Frenchman's close enough to stumble too, even when in a jet-lagged blur, but far enough to escape the noise pollution. The staff are lovely and relaxed. Definitely stay here.

Lovely Home Away From Home

3,8 sur novembre 14, 2012

The Lions Inn provided a lovely respite in a city with plenty of action. The proprietor, Floyd, was a real hoot keeping me in stitches with his delightful Southern humor. Both he and Ed answered all this first timers questions about New Orleans. Would definitely stay there again. Jean M.

Close to the French Quarter

5 sur novembre 13, 2012

Very clean and within walking distance to the French Quarter. The Wine Happy Hour and bicycles to use were an added bonus. Not sure it can be beat for the asking price. Even some locals use it when we were there. Better than taking the cab home after a long night out.

Genuine New Orleans Living

4,4 sur novembre 02, 2012

Come here to experience a quiet residential area not far from the French Quarter and Market, but removed enough to give the flavor of local life. If you enjoy leisurely chats with fellow travelers from around the world over breakfast in the ambiance of a nicely renovated century+ old home, this is the place for you. Floyd, the hospitable manager, treated us like family, and provided extras that made our week-long stay more than memorable.

Great place to stay!

5 sur octobre 20, 2012

The Lions Inn was clean and pretty. The garden and pool area are relaxing and beautiful. Breakfast was great with a good selection. The room price was very reasonable. I am glad that I stayed there.

Lovely place and lovely people

4,8 sur octobre 15, 2012

We enjoyed the heck out of our stay at the Lion's Inn. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the backyard pool was so beautiful and relaxing after a hot day walking around the city. Ed and Floyd were gracious hosts. Be sure to ask the neighbors to get Nipper and Bubba (the sweet dogs) to sing "When the Saints Go Marching In."

5 sur octobre 14, 2012

Such a quaint B&B. The owners were super friendly and cleaned my room and bathroom daily. The neighborhood has excellent cafe's and bars. A 15 minute walk to the French Quarter made this the perfect place to stay. The outdoor area was super nice and the pool and hot tub were very nice. I didn't go in either, but will on my next stay. Safe area also. I highly recommend for any ages......

Good value for Marigny

4,4 sur octobre 08, 2012

I stayed in the single room at the Lion's Inn. It was small, but cozy and clean. Didn't take advantage of the wine and cheese but it takes place everyday from 5-6pm. The best asset this property has is the gorgeous pool and fish pond. Simply wonderful for a hot Louisiana day. Great value...would definitely stay here again

Pennsylvania Dietitian

3,6 sur octobre 07, 2012

Our room was small but had everything we needed including its own bathroom. It opened onto the beautiful backyard with pool and hot tub. The pool and greenery were beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly and our room was always made up nicely. The breakfast was continental, basically help yourself to cold cereal, bagels, fruit, juice and coffee. Its fine if you're not expecting a hot homemade breakfast. It was nice that they had bicycles you could borrow to ride around town. We were able to walk to and from Frenchman Street without any problems.

Perfect B&B in Marigny

4,6 sur octobre 05, 2012

This B&B was such an amazing place to stay. It was like a home away from home from the free wine & cheese from 5:00-6:00 each day to the friendliness of the owners to the quaintness of the facility. The courtyard that separates each of the two housing facilities (which are old off the ground houses by the way) is beautiful. Pool, hot tub, lounging areas, perfection....not much more to ask for. My room was cleaned up each day too and I had my own bathroom :). I will be returning....

A hidden treasure!

4,6 sur octobre 04, 2012

My friend and I completely enjoyed our stay here for 5 days! We were in room C which is HUGE and has its own entrance downstairs to the kitchen. The location is just about a 15 minute walk from everything French Quarter, and quiet enough at night for great sleep. There is also cafes and stores near the inn as well. And FREE street parking is a huge bonus. As well as the free wine and cheese hour at 5. The backyard is wonderfully landscaped and you really dont feel like you are near any other houses when you are. Breakfast is the basics but they will cook (or let you do it) if you want a more elaborate meal. I highly recommend this inn.

Very nice stay

4,6 sur septembre 28, 2012

We have appracieted or stay at Lions Inn B&B. Rooms are cosy and garden is very very beautiful. This location is also quiet and others customers were very pleasant.

Labor Day weekend

5 sur septembre 07, 2012

We had reservations at the Lions Inn for Southern Decadence but as there was a last minute cancelation at the condo in the French Quarter, our host allowed us to stay at the condo. Fantastic location! We rode bikes back and forth from the condo back to the B&B each day.

Very pleasant

3,8 sur août 30, 2012

Charming and relaxed atmosphere. Staff were solicitous without being intrusive. It is in an ordinary New Orleans neighborhood which is a good antidote to the tourist destinations. A 10-minute walk to the trolley stop taking you to and from all the excitement. Other guests were mostly young Europeans which I only encountered over morning coffee by the pool. I look forward to staying there again.

Summer Sanctuary

4,8 sur août 20, 2012

We have stayed here before and as always absolutely loved it. Last time we stayed in Room C, with 2 bedrooms and that is still by far my favorite, but this year we were in the other house and it was very nice, but no A/C in the bathrooms- it was tolerable, but a bit warm. They have a great spread for breakfast but Cake Cafe almost next door if you feel like having the most delicious shrimp and grits ever. I love the Lions and will always stay there when in Nola.

perfect getaway, affordable, private!

4,2 sur août 15, 2012

Amenities were great, especially the use of bikes!! Loved the pool, very private, and the owners were helpful and friendly but definitely left us alone enough, too.

Charming B&B

4,2 sur août 14, 2012

Very nice place to be in a very nice city. The hosts were is gentle, the cheese and wine time is a very good idea. The place is very close of the French quarter. It is a very good B&B. A french family.

Très bon B&B

Dog Friendly, Pool, AC, Continental Breakfast, Great Location

4,8 sur août 06, 2012

My wife, our dog, and I spent 2 nights with Floyd and friends over a summer weekend. The stay was great, with friendly recommendations from Precious on where to get the best Po Boy (Verti Marte), and a tray from Floyd to deliver breakfast in bed to my wife ("Be nice to her... or hell, don't be nice, what do I care?"

Great stay

3,2 sur août 04, 2012

It was my first time to New Orleans and I wanted to stay close to the French Quarter and my stay at the inn was terrific. What a great neighborhood to walk and get around. Very close to the area I wanted to be. I have no doubt that i would return for another stay.

great place

4,2 sur juillet 28, 2012

The Lions Inn is very well located. It's a very nice place. Staying there was a true pleasure and it made our stay better. I strongly recommend that place.

A "roaring" success at the Lions Inn!

4,4 sur juillet 23, 2012

What a lovely time we had staying at the Lions Inn! Floyd, Ed, and the rest of the staff were extremely hospitable and helpful. This was, by far, one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in...and we're stayed in many all over the US. The pool area was a special delight! We got great recommendations for where to eat and shop. Parking on the street was ample. Of course, the French Quarter is so close, we never moved our car all week! We will definitely be going back to the Lions Inn. Thanks, all!

This was my second stay at this gem of a place and it was just perfect! The Lions Inn is located in the best neighborhood of New Orleans, you are a short walk to the French Quarter and can still explore this funky little neighborhood. Floyd and Ed are very accommodating and the property is just so quaint and beautiful! I will be back!!

Great Location

3,4 sur juillet 20, 2012

Spent an enjoyable weekend at Lions Inn. Very convenient location to French Quarter. Walked everywhere. Only about 15 minutes to Jackson Square. Even though two ladies, felt safe walking in the area. Learning curve came about when the temperatures soared to upper 90's and the bathroom we were accessing had no air conditioning. Will know to ask next time. Minor inconvenience. Ambiance was great. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Wonderful place to stay...

5 sur juillet 13, 2012

Our first trip to NOLA and it was great. The Lions Inn was an amazing little bed and breakfast with super friendly staff and guests. I would highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again should I go back to NOLA.

Summer Stay July 5th-8th

4,8 sur juillet 11, 2012

This was the second time that we've stayed at the Lion's Inn and it was just as good as the first. Great staff, clean (and cute) rooms, and an awesome neighborhood location. And the pool courtyard is simply beautiful.

Fantastic Place to Stay in New Orleans

4,8 sur juillet 05, 2012

We had a great experience at Lions Inn and will return next year. The property is beautifully maintained by a wonderful, kind and friendly staff. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home. The rooms are charming, they are not big rooms, but well furnished and comfortable., we don't spent much time in our room, but there were nice lamps tp read by. We spent six nights at Lions Inn in a room near the pool. Each morning we could count on either Floyd or Ed to be there to welcome us with coffee and basic continental breakfast-plus. When we returned each evening, our room and bath were clean and ready to welcome us for a nights sleep. Lions Inn offers wine and cheese in the evenings for about an hour or so, quite nice just to sit and relax and meet other guests. We loved the bikes and used them everyday. The French Quarter is about 6 block away, from Chartres Street to Frenchman Street, you just keep walking and you will find your way into the heart of the Quarter, lots of activity in the French Quarter- music, food, shopping clubs and so on. We will definately return to New Orleans next year and will be contacting Lions Inn for reservations. Thank you Floyd and Ed for all of the great suggestions and directions. Thank you Precious, Tae, Henry and all who made our stay so very special, and lastly Bubba and Nipper, the Lions pets, good having you at the pool. Cheers!

Rerview in Paradise

1,6 sur juin 27, 2012

Mew management has come in to the Lions Inn. Way different than the previous manager.. For a place that we have been there many times, were are very disappointed by the fact that we were told to wear towels all the time. For a clothing optional place, this was not an option we were wanting to hear. We were in a room that we had not stayed in before. We arrived early, and swam, and hours later, nobody ever came out to tell us the room was ready. We had to go inside and check, the we were just handed a key.No "hello" no "welcome and let me show you to your room. The first night I had to go and wake the new manager and get ROACH spray. He made us feel like we were so bothersome. We got a spray can with 3 squirts in it. Then after we used it up and went back to bed, 3 m ore ROACHES were climbing up the armoir from the window by the A/C unit. We got Ritz crackers on a paper plate and some hunks of cheddar cheese at 5 PM. There were 4 of us sitting by the pool nude at the opposite end from where the cheese was p[laced. We asked for the manager to bring the cheese and Ritz to the table at our end, and we got attitude and he put the cheese down and walked away.. We, and some fellow guests there, were having small confrontations with the new guy that is running the place.. He never turned on the light inside of the swimming pool. It was like so dark out on the pool and patio area that were were afraid to walk around at the dark of night and had to sit at a table just outside of a guests room.. It is a shame that a place we like so much has changed in a way we and some other guests find negative. It is a beautiful place to swim at. But the hospitality that it has been known for for years is gone. We have found another gay friendly and fun and beautiful place to say.

Lion's Inn, New Orleans

2,2 sur juin 22, 2012

The location of the B&B was just fine. Although it was not officially in the French Quarter, it was only a short walk, and we felt safe. The category B&B would lead one to expect some sort of special breakfast, but that was not the case. We had cold cereal and toasted bagels, self-service. There were a couple of good eating places within a block; the more famous and exotic venues were in the Quarter. Our room was okay, but not great, The complimentary wine happy hour was nice and the pool and gardens were lush. Beware the hot tub ... It felt good at the time, but I suffered burns from the excessive chlorine that are still healing, and it has been 2 week ... not pleasant. I would probably seek out another accommodation on a future visit to the city.

Great Memories

5 sur juin 18, 2012

My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Lions Inn for the past 6 years, once or twice a year. We love the feel of the place, the neighborhood in which it is located, and the interesting people we cross paths with while enjoying breakfast or wine & cheese hour (provided by the Inn). The rooms are very clean and Precious is always quick and dependable to have clean warm towels available.

Great location and free, easy parking!

3,8 sur juin 05, 2012

Stayed in room C, which had its own bathroom and 2 queen beds. Bigger than we expected! lovely courtyard and swimming pool, but make sure to use some mosquito spray when you go out there. Breakfast was nice - muffins, cereal, etc,.. 10 minit walk to frenchmen street for great music and atmosphere. Another 10 minits to the east end of bourbon street. Only negative was the super-steep staircase up to our room, so if you have knee or back problems consider a room on the ground floor.

Quiet Location with great pool!

3,2 sur juin 01, 2012

We had a nice time at the Lion's Inn B&B. It was a little further away from most of the tourist attractions. It was nice to be able to take bikes which cut down on the walking. The trolley is close by also, but it can be 15-30 min between each trolley. The room was nice, would have liked a clock of some kind in the room, but it was clean and the bed was made up each day. The pool was great to have in the NOLA heat along with Hot Tub. Breakfast was a little dissappointing with only bagels, bread, yogurt, fruit and 2 cereals to choose from each day. By the time we got into the central part of NOLA we were already hungry. I would reccommend this B&B if you don't mind walking or biking 20 min or so to get to things, otherwise, you might want to stay closer to the attractions.

Fun B & B

5 sur juin 01, 2012

What a wonderful stay in New Orleans. This B & B has everything from hot tub to an awesome swimming pool. The wine and cheese happy hour everyday is very nice added touch. Lots of breakfast items to choose from in the morning with some nice strong coffee to get you on your way to a full day of sightseeing. The heart of the French Quarter is about a 15 to 20 minute walk, but you get to see lots of different things along the way that you don't realize you've walked that length of time. Owner and manager are very personable as well as the rest of the staff. Rooms are nice and clean.

Our stay was awesome! This was a great value, quiet, beautiful, and a perfect distance from the French quarter.

such a gem!

4,2 sur mai 24, 2012

The Lions Inn was a wonderful respite from the cacophony of the French Quarter. but still close enough for enjoying its revelry. Simply tasteful rooms, lush patio with pool and hot tub, and beautiful garden with pond await you. Service was attentive without being intrusive. And the value could not be beat! I would absolutely book a return stay!

Southern Hospitality

4,2 sur mai 20, 2012

Really enjoyed our stay at the Lions' Inn. The hospitality was laid back, but fantastic- all staff really helpful. The wine our and communal breakfast were great, and made met people from all over the world. Will definitely want to stay here again.

pleasant, convenient, good value

4,2 sur mai 16, 2012

Nice place to stay for decent price. Very laid back. Pleasant courtyard with pool. Great location in the Marigny. I knew about this place because I used to live on this block. They provide bicycles to explore the neighborhood with, much better than walking. Rooms have character. Clean, quiet. Would recommend. I didn't have any of the breakfast so I can't review that. Why waste stomach space on continental hotel breakfast when you can have shrimp poboys and fried chicken?

Lions Inn - great location and entertainment

3,6 sur mai 14, 2012

Floyd is a national treasure! The stories he could tell...and does ...will make you late for anything you have planned because they are so interesting. But what are you doing planning in New Orleans? Enjoy the unexpected like the Aquatic center down the street that has gazillions of frogs croaking into the night and the Sculpture studio that has all those crazy sculptures filling up a huge yard. And then there is Frenchman street nearby and lots of great places to eat.

We spent 4 days here in late april/early may for the NCAA basketball tourney--A great restaurant less than one block away, only 5 minute walk to jazz clubs on French man street; less than 10 minute walk to end of riverfront trolly line in French Quarter

Big Blue Orleans

3,8 sur avril 17, 2012

We visited New Orleans for the NCAA Final 4 and thoroughly enjoyed Lion's Inn. The location was great, being just outside the chaos of the French Quarter. The walk into the Quarter was very quaint and easy. Floyd was very gracious to mail our phone charger to us as well.

Private Oasis

4,6 sur avril 15, 2012

What a great place to come home to after spending a day touring, shopping or just being out all night long! Quiet, hidden oasis where you least expect it to be! Within walking distance to everything; shops, restaurant and Bourbon Street! Floyd is a great host and is always making sure his guests are happy! I miss it already!

4,6 sur avril 14, 2012

My girlfriend and I went down to NOLA for spring break and Lions Inn was the perfect place for us. They are a few blocks outside the quarter, but have free bikes for you to use if you get sick of walking back and forth. Frenchman street is only 4 blocks away and that is where we found that we would end each evening because of the live jazz and the neighborhood between lions inn and Frenchman street was very safe. We stayed in room 4 (king size bed and own bathroom) and the room was great! A/C was much appreciated after walking all day in the hot sun. The bathroom was across the hall, which was fine for us. The king size bed was actually two twins put together and there was a little crease in the middle of the bed, but we barely noticed. However we will get a queen next time. Our typical day looked like: wake up at 8, get breakfast and mingle with the other guests, head out by 10, do whatever activity, be back by 5 for wine and cheese hour and jump in the very refreshing pool, then head out for dinner and late night good times. Floyd is VERY nice and will make sure everything is good on their end. When we head back to NOLA, we will stay at lions in. :)

a lovely calm oasis in New Orleans

4,6 sur mars 27, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at Lions Inn for several reasons. Our charming host, Floyd, was thoughtful and considerate and I greatly enjoyed the conversations over breakfast. Our dog was also made to feel welcome, which meant quite a bit to us. The Inn is lovely, cozy, safe and quiet, located in a charming neighborhood. You wouldn't know that you are a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter, yet you are close enough to walk there if you decide to. However, we enjoyed just staying in the vicinity of the inn, walking about the neighborhood, eating and buying groceries at a neighborhood grocery/restaurant and enjoying the beautiful architecture close at hand. And the garden/pool area out back is outstanding - one has several options of quiet spots to sit and enjoy the outdoors, or swim in the pool if desired. The wine and cheese hour in the evenings was an extra special touch! We hope to go back someday and would wholeheartedly recommend Lions Inn to anyone wanting a special memorable place to stay when in New Orleans.

Quaint, charming, great value for your money

5 sur mars 09, 2012

If you want to experience New Orleans beyond the French Quarters, I recommend staying at the Lion's Inn. My partner and I have stayed there twice and we enjoyed it both times. If you don't mind a 15 minute walk to Bourbon, staying in Marigny is an experience. Plus, you pass Frenchman street on the way to the FQ; there's always something going on there. During the day, you can take the bikes and explore more of Nola. Floyd makes sure that your stay is an enjoyable one. I can't recommend this B&B enough.

it was just o.k.

3,2 sur mars 05, 2012

I will start with the good. The location is prime if you want to be in the pulse of the coolest area in the city. Almost directly across from one of the greatest breakfast spots in town and with a nice continental breakfast of their own including cereal's hard boiled eggs, some fruits, coffee, juice, tea.....The Patio is LOVELY, amazing really that you can get so much space right in the heart of the city, they are very lucky. But. The pool is not heated which means that there is no year round swimming, it may be warmer here than lots of places are in February but not it's not that warm. The rooms are pretty tiny and while they do have some antiques and are over-all "nice" I wouldn't say they are fancy or indulgent in any way, just a nice clean place to sleep. And the bed. Oh, the bed was not good, not comfortable at all. I need a comfy bed, period. The owners were polite but not at all friendly, it definitely felt like we were intruding on their private party.....not sure how that works, it was clear that as a small family of three with a little one we were not their normal guests. Fair enough. In short I would say that while it is certainly a fine option for some it is not the perfect option for us, I require a little more luxury and again, a comfy bed but beyond that I can see this as a great place to stay if you don't plan on sleeping much and do plan on being here in the warmer months when you can take advantage of the killer pool/patio area :)

The perfect distance to Bourban Street

4,2 sur février 24, 2012

We went to go visit during Mardi Gras and it was a short 10 minute walk to "the madness" of Bourban St and the French Quarter. The inn was fantastically clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Their place was so cute and there was a pool, hot tub and small pond. It was just overall a cute and pleasant stay. I will be staying there next time I visit New Orleans. You save some money by staying a little outside but we felt very safe walking at night and I still consider it close!

Mardi Gras

4,2 sur février 21, 2012

Floyd, Ed and Tai, their friends and acquaintances made my first visit to New Orleans welcoming and wonderful. Lions Inn has a great location in my opinion and free use of bicycles made tooling around easy and adventuresome. Beautiful tropically accented pool and hot tub area reminded me of Hawaii. Thanks men for making my visit memorable. Tom Dredge

It is in my heart!!!

4,0 sur février 17, 2012

Lions Inn together with New Orleans will always stay in my heart! The inn is so beautiful and quite and Floyd and Ed are so attentive to their guests. For me it was like staying in a house of my very dear and long know beautiful friends! Hoping so much to come back and have again 5 o'clock Lions Inn glass of wine. Thank you!

Really enjoyable place to be

3,8 sur février 17, 2012

I particularly appreciated being able to borrow bikes so we could ride around town, and the garden area was very beautiful and relaxing. A very comfortable and relaxed place to stay in a cute neighborhood. The bed was really comfortable, and the shower was great. The only downside was that the room was a bit stuff...but it happened to be cold at night so we couldn't leave the windows open. Otherwise a great place with kind hosts.

3,8 sur février 16, 2012

We got there at night so it was a little hard to find. I was greeted by a sweet lady named Precious who was more than helpful. I was skeptical since I had not stayed in too many bed and breakfast. There was people staying from all over the world there. But to my suprise, It was much better than staying in any of new orleans inflated prices hotels. Hot water was sometimes scarce for two showers..but not bad. The pool area was really nice. (beware it is clothing optional) I experienced New Orleans from a different perspective and found that there is more to New Orleans than bourbon street. Everything about it was a nice suprise! Will definitely be a return guest.

This is the best B&B in New Orleans

4,4 sur février 09, 2012

Our gracious host Floyd Lamb was very helpful recommending local restaurants and entertainment. The wine and cheese at 5pm was a great way to meet other guests and locals. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend the Lions Inn to all my friends.

nice place to stay

4,0 sur février 09, 2012

we really enjoyed staying at the Lions Inn. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Location is great for the Krewe du Vieux parade and just a few short blocks to Frenchman street. Lions Inn NOLA

4,0 sur février 08, 2012

Loved the location, loved the dogs, loved the pool, loved the folks. Nice shower, & nice small kitchen area. Only think I'd add would be a small table. We had the room with an outdoor entrance, which was very nice and private. Highly recommended.

Nice Place to experience the French Quarter

4,0 sur janvier 24, 2012

The staff was very nice and helpful. The place is not far from the French Quarter and you can borrow some bikes

Lions Inn Loft room....up the stairs

3,2 sur janvier 15, 2012

Nice, clean comfortable room. Bathroom very spacious. Small TV, however, we were hardly ever in room, basically jsut lulled us to sleep. Remote didn't work properly. Also, ceiling fan didn't work but room has AC. Steep stairs to make up to the room which you should make sure you are able to climb. Price was fair I thought. However, it is not as close to the most visited part of French Quarter as seems advertised. Cab to that area only about $10 to most destinations. Recommend taking taxi at least as far as the open French Market as the area near house doesn't seem a great place to walk at night. Back yard pool area is very nice and drinks are provided in a fridge. They do have a small breakfast provided and a wine in evening. We are not breakfast people as we come in late, sleep late and go out and have lunch. Overall, I would stay here again especially if I couldn't find something similiar in price closer to the quarters or Casino.

Nice stay near the French quarter

3,8 sur janvier 10, 2012

Conveniently located, this B&B allows you not to pay for parking vehicule. I enjoyed the stay with my family. The owner is very kind. I didn't enjoy summer facilities but it is definitively a good address to stay.

Great Bed and Breakfast

5 sur janvier 08, 2012

Floyd and Ed, the owners of the B&B were very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms, clean. Plenty of food for the continental style breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

Large 2-queen bed room on quiet street

4,0 sur janvier 07, 2012

Spent 3 nights in room C in the main house -- up a narrow stairway from the street, then down a narrow winding hall, but a large room awaits at the end. Direct access to the kitchen and pool areas via another steep stairway actually in the room. Great value; straight-forward simple breakfasts (fruit, toast, bagels, cereal and good coffee). Wine and cheese hour. Wide range of guests seeking a value stay. About 5 blocks to the beginning of the French Quarter, so bring your walking shoes. Free parking on the street.

New Orleans trip to the Lions Inn

3,2 sur décembre 28, 2011

The owners/ managers were extremely helpful. they went above and beyond the call to be helpful. However, my fiance could never finish a shower without the hot water running out. The free Wi-Fi was down and did not start to work until the day before we left, after I hauled my lap top on the plane for nothing. Super nice people, but I won't stay there again on my next trip back to New Orleans. I like a few more amenities, like adequate hot water and Wi-Fi which works. I must admit the location is ideal: safe neighborhood and close to the French Quarter, but far enough away to be quiet.

Great value!

3,4 sur décembre 22, 2011

Very nice B&B ideally located on a quiet street in the Marigny district, just a couple blocks from Frenchman street. The owner is very nice and accommodating, and the rooms are comfortable and well maintained. And there's a hot tub. The breakfast is a bit lacking but I didn't mind, got a chance to grab something at the very nice cafe just down the street. !

A Delightful Experience

4,2 sur décembre 20, 2011

Wonderful accommodations. Very good value. The Inn Keeper was most charming and helpful with dining recommendations.

Great Secluded Place in a Great City

3,2 sur décembre 20, 2011

When we were left off by the taxi, I thought "oh my" and not in a good sense. If it were not for the "Lions" insignia on the residential door, I would have sworn that the cabby had made a mistake. We were escorted in through that door and led to "our room." Once again I thought "oh my" only this time it was in a good way. The Sun Room was great with a direct entry to the pool and courtyard. Good location and a good time. In closing there was no one there that was nearly as grumpy as I am.

Very Nice...

3,0 sur décembre 20, 2011

Nice cozy rooms, great hospitality, breakfast included, cereal , coffee, breads, fruit, yogurt, walking distance to everything, clothing optional sundeck and pool, not heated, but walking distance to The Country Club with great heated pool.

4,8 sur décembre 14, 2011

This was was our first stay in New Orleans, when we're coming back, we will definitely stay at the Lions Inn again. We arrived on Friday morning after driving all night. The owner let us check in without extra charge, although check-in was officially not until 3pm. The rooms were not big, but clean and they had a very nice atmosphere. The garden (with pool and hot tub) is lovely. When we were sitting there in the evening the owner brought us wine and cheese (for free). The location is perfect, the inn itself is located on a quiet street, but it is situated very near many good restaurants and Frenchman street where all the nicest bars are. The French quarter is only a short walk away and complimentary bikes are available for destinations that are a bit further away.

Lions Inn Review

4,6 sur novembre 28, 2011

great value and a fun neighborhood, easy walk to the French Quarter, felt safe in the area, we were able to park on the street very close to Lions Inn for free. Parking in the French Quarter hotels is $30 a day.

Great place to stay

4,4 sur novembre 27, 2011

Loved the homey feeling. Beautiful surroundings. Would stay there again but would not pick the same room, it was next to the dining room, very loud in the morning, it was in the main house. Next time will stay in other rooms. But other than that it was great stay, friednly, clean, great value.

Wonderful Stay!

4,2 sur novembre 27, 2011

We had a wonderful stay at the Lions Inn. The courtyard was beautiful and was a great place to relax. The inn is located close enough to the French Quarter that we were able to walk everywhere, and never had to move our car!

Met our expectations

4,0 sur novembre 17, 2011

The room was nicely furnished and convenient to the backyard pond and pool. While everything appeared clean, it was a bit shabby looking in places. The location was excellent, walking distance to the French Quarter, yet without the noise. The breakfast was so-so. While we enjoyed our stay, I would caution people who want a non-smoking environment, that this could be a problem as guests seem to congregate in the backyard to smoke. The owner has 2 dogs which we enjoyed but one of the dogs barking did keep me awake.

4,4 sur novembre 08, 2011

Decor is beautiful, yet warm and comfortable. Breakfast is continental plus and satisfying. The backyard is a gorgeous tropical like garden, containing a large pool, hot tub and lily pond. Makes you feel like you are in the tropics. 5 to 6PM, wine, cheese and crackers are served in the garden, which gives you and opportunity to meet and converse with the other visitors. Floyd makes you feel like familly and his manager Ed is very nice also. They went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating to our needs. We really hated leaving this bed and breakfast and recommend this B&B to everyone. If you have any questions, would be happy to reply. Ilene & Walt Jacobus

Great B & B in historic neighborhood

4,2 sur novembre 08, 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Lion's Inn recently for our anniversay. We had a great stay! The room was charming and clean with beautiful stained glass windows. There is a nice pool and hot tub and a lovely koi pond in the courtyard. The breakfast was fresh fruit and bagels, simple but nice. They had bikes to use for free and we rode them all over New Orleans for three days. It was such a great way to see the city, without having to pay a bunch of taxis a lot of money. We loved the neighborhood and were only about 3 blocks from Frenchman street, where all the amazing jazz clubs are. We'll definitely stay at the Lion's Inn again!

Great location

5 sur octobre 31, 2011

I stayed at the Lions Inn for three nights with my mother and found it to be a brilliant little B & B. It is about a 5 - 10m min walk to the French quarter and only 5 mins from Frenchmen Street. The B & B is in a good area and we felt safe walking home at dark (although it wasn't that late). The owner and other staff were great, made us feel welcome and provided us with some very useful information and tips. I stayed in a twin room which had good space and was very clean. The breakfast was excellent and had a good selection. If I was to return to New Orleans this would be where I would stay again.

Staying at the Lions Inn was a total pleasure and I will revisit from Ireland again.

Our stay at Lions Inn was wonderful. The rooms were well appointed with classic looks, and the pool and surrounding garden made the courtyard seem like a tropical paradise. The innkeeper Floyd, was a gracious host, and made us feel right at home. I highly recommend Lions Inn to anyone staying in The Big Easy...

great for hot weather stay

Great Time in New Orleans

4,4 sur août 15, 2011

We had a wonderful time in New Orleans. This B/B is in an awesome location and the owners are very personable and love to share information about New Orleans. The neighborhood is charming and I felt very safe, even though we were walking distance from the heart of the city! The breakfast options were dismal for children, but luckily there is a great bakery right across the street. I definitely plan to stay here again!

Another great stay in NOLA

4,8 sur août 14, 2011

Floyd and company were both gracious and fun. This was my ninth stay at the Lions Inn and the sunroom by the pool was perfect. Sharing time over morning coffee or afternoon wine and cheese by the pool with guests from Canada, France and Mexico was enchanting. I'll be back for an all-too-short stay in October.

Comfortable, affordable lodging near the Quarter

I enjoyed my stay at the Lion's Inn. It is located in an interesting, eclectic neighborhood outside the Quarter and its nice to get to know other, less hectic parts of the city. The room was clean and the owner was friendly and very knowledgeable about New Orleans. I will definately stay there again.

NOLA paradise

4,0 sur juillet 26, 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Lion's Inn B&B for about a week. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, bikes, breakfast, wifi, and meeting wonderful people :)

Love love love the Lions Inn

4,8 sur juillet 12, 2011

We throughly enjoyed our time at the Lions Inn. The Innkeeper was just such a warm and friendly fellow and I enjoyed his wonderful spirit and energy. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was great as was the pond and gardens. We had a wonderful room with a private bath and full kitchen!! We look forward to returning again and again! Thank you Floyd and Ed for your hospitality. Berlena and Wendy

perfect little get-away

5 sur juillet 11, 2011

The Lions Inn is a perfect place for a get-away-great location, incredible rooms that are clean and comfortable, and hospitality that is just beyond belief. The gardens and pool are beautiful and so very relaxing in a city that is very, very busy. Our stay was like being with valued old friends. We can not wait until we can arrange for another visit and stay with Floyd at Lions Inn.

Great Place To Stay

4,0 sur juillet 08, 2011

Stayed for a friends weekend wedding. Close to French Quarter, great pool! Ed and Floyd were very helpful for our stay.

Would Stay Again, but needs a few changes.

3,0 sur juillet 08, 2011

Our stay was very nice. Love the grounds, the pool and the people. Just a few things that could be improved... starting with the water pressure in the shower, which was barely above a trickle in our shared bath. And to pick nits, better coffee in the AM would be nice, especially since New Orleans is known for it's smooth chickory coffee. Overall - I would stay at the Lion's again for sure.

Comfortable, relaxing and welcoming

4,2 sur juillet 03, 2011

Floyd is an outstanding host, and we always have a great time at the Lions Inn in New Orleans. The pool and garden make it so difficult to leave the premises, and in fact, much of our time is spent lounging poolside. The rooms are well-kept and comfortable, and Room #1 in particular opens up directly to the pool. It's paradise.

A Local Oasis in a Bustling City

3,6 sur juillet 01, 2011

This is a great find: a gem of an inn. It is truly like a resort, just on a small scale. The location is great and the bicycles the icing on the cake.

ok for adults

4,0 sur juin 22, 2011

This is a beautiful B & B, and the host was very conscientious about making sure our needs were met. There are a lot of neighbors coming and going in the pool/kitchen area and one of them was sunbathing in the buff by the pool when we came back from lunch. He got dressed as soon as he knew he was in mixed company, but my seventeen year old daughter and I had already seen him by that time. I guess my advice would be not to bring kids if you stay here. Otherwise, it was a very nice place.

5 sur juin 20, 2011

We had a great time at the Lions Inn. Happy hour from 5pm gets all the guests together and we met some wonderful people from all over the world and made lifetime friends. Our hosts Floyd and Ed were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the Lions Inn in its beautiful tropical surrounds and so close to the French Quarter.

Great place to stay

5 sur juin 17, 2011

Place was great stayed one night. Getting married in November and sending my family to stay there.

A nice, affordable stay

3,2 sur juin 13, 2011

This is a very homey B&B a few blocks east of the French Quarter. The room rates are great, especially considering the place has a pool, a hot tub and a wine-and-cheese hour every day at 5 p.m. There are also a few great restaurants a block or two away.

Couldn't have picked a better B&B than Lions Inn

4,2 sur juin 12, 2011

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Lions Inn. The pool was a must and is in a beautiful secluded back yard setting. The hospitality was great and wine and cheese hour was an added plus. The feature we loved most was they furnished bicycles to use. We rode all over, locking them to poles when we stopped to do things. Much cheaper than cabs and we found it safe riding back to the B&B at nite. Lions Inn is just the right distance from the French Quarter with many little places to eat close by. We will stay with them again.

great place to stay

I found this to be a wonderful place to stay in New Orleans, especially since there was a swimming pool on site.

great stay

The atmosphere was very relaxing and homey with a great pool and garden to relax in.

Fantastic Place

Lions Inn New Orleans

3,4 sur mai 31, 2011

A very quaint, and nice facility. I didn't think the staff was overly friendly. But I only stayed one night. I was a little suspect of the neighborhood.

Can't be beat!

4,4 sur mai 10, 2011

What a wonderful place to stay! It's charming, quiet, comfortable, with a very hospitable host (Ed). The garden, pond, swimming pool and hot tub are all lovely. The neighborhood is fun and interesting - you can walk down the street and eat well and hear great music, plus see funky, pretty, and interesting houses. For my husband and me one of the best things was the free bikes - we rode all over the city, and that was a highlight of our trip. We would (and will) stay at the Lions Inn again in a minute.

A pleasant stay in New Orleans

2,6 sur mai 09, 2011

Close to the French Quarter and safe. Perfectly adequate for my needs.

Would stay again!

3,8 sur mai 05, 2011

Can't beat the location, bike usage, Floyd is very accommodating. The back area is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We did not take advantage of breakfast nor the wine & cheese hour. This place makes for a very pleasant stay in New Orleans.

Jazz Fest 1st weekend

3,2 sur mai 05, 2011

what a fun place to stay. Floyd made us feel very welcome and was very kind to us. The other guest were wonderful and the atmosphere in the coutyard was very relaxing, just what you need after a day at Jazz Fest. We hope to stya here again.

Our Visit

4,4 sur mai 05, 2011

Our visit to the Lions Inn BnB was terrific. Floyd was quite the host and most enjoyable to talk with -- as well as his staff, Ed, Miquel, etc. Hope to be visiting again next year!

The only place so stay in this town

4,6 sur mai 03, 2011

Being there the second time we felt as coming home! Floyd is a wonderful host, including his humor and his hospitality. The location is just near midtown - you can walk or bike to most of New Orleans attractions. You can take a rest in the wonderful tropical garden, swimming in the pool and the 5-o'clock-wine-time every day is a relaxing meeting in coming together with other guest.

I had a pleasant stay

3,8 sur mai 01, 2011

Great setting with pleasant atmosphere. Good neighborhood! I choose the small room upstairs...could use a few more hooks and table to hang belongings and clothes. Good host!

Very nice!

5 sur avril 30, 2011

A wonderful garden with a lot of (for me as norwegian) exotic trees and fowers. Nice swimming-pool. Few rooms and guests, which made it easy to learn the others to know. Also the wine-hour (free !) in the afternooen was great. Walking distance to French quarter !

Highly Recommended

4,2 sur avril 22, 2011

A great place to stay ... a great host! Just far enough to be out of the chaos of the French Quarter, but close enough to enjoy the chaos of the French Quarter.

My stay recently at Lions Inn

4,4 sur avril 19, 2011

The breakfast was good. Being able to borrow a bike was super! Wine and cheese at 5PM, what a great way to get to know the other guests! I would like to come again. -Glenn Smith

A great cozy place to stay with a wonderful host.

4,0 sur avril 18, 2011

Lion's Inn was recommended to us by a friend for our recent trip to NOLA. We were looking for something quiet but still within walking distance of the Quarter. We are so grateful for the recommendation as we loved our stay. Floyd is very friendly and personable as is his staff. He made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived until our vacation sadly ended 5 days later. The rooms are VERY clean and well appointed. We were in the guest house in a room with a private bath and enjoyed quiet peaceful nights. The courtyard is gorgeous, the pool was refreshing and the hot tub was a great escape after a long day in the Quarter. Marigny is a bit removed from the action (about a 15 minute walk to the Quarter) but still has a lot to offer in the way of nightlife, cafe's, and shops. Each morning, the B&B offered breakfast and then a nice social wine/cheese hour in the afternoon. We can't wait to return and have recommended Lion's Inn to all of our friends.

4,2 sur avril 14, 2011

The location was great -- we were right within walking distance to all the action and only took a cab once our entire stay. The pillows were soft, the air conditioning was plentiful (and easily adjustable!), and the rooms were clean and lovely.

Quarter Fest in New Orleans

4,4 sur avril 13, 2011

This is a great location to have walking access to what I like in N.O. Frenchman street, the Quarter, the Trolley, it's all right there. I didn't use a bike, but that's a nice perk! The pool and back yard are a quiet respite after a long day wandering around. The room was clean, quiet and the hosts were helpful. I'll go back!

Wonderful hidden jem

5 sur avril 13, 2011

My husband and I spent a wonderful 4 day vacation at the Lions Inn. We were so happy with the expierence. The staff, Ed, Floyd and espically Bubba and Nipper were so very friendly and helpful in recommending places to see and eat. The location was perfect. It was within walking distance to the heart of the French Quarter and the street car. We truely enjoyed using the bikes that were offered and were able to see and do everything that we wanted. We will definetly stay here the next time that we are visiting New Orleans.

Sister's Reunion Getaway 2011!

5 sur avril 06, 2011

Staying at the Lion's In was a wonderful experience! We had room "C", which is a large room w/ 2 double beds. The bathroom was also large. The room/bathroom was clean and pristine! The garden area is beautiful! So full of palm trees, plant life, flowers! There even is a gorgeous Japenese goldfish pond, and a little bench to sit and think! The pool was lovely! Very clean! We also spent much time in the Jacuzzi. Perfectly clean and well kept. The innkeeper/owner, Floyd, is wonderful! He's an older gentleman, who has a story for every occasion. He was also extremely funny!! He even served us wine, cheese, crackers and dips.....while We were in the jacuzzi!! My only wish, is that the Inn be a closer walk to the main quarter, but, it is what it is, and besides, with all the food we ate, we needed the walk! Floyd also has 2 smallish dogs, who are very friendly. The Inn is very GLBT friendly! I could go on, but, I'll sum it up by saying, I'd most definitely recommend Lion's Inn to anyone, and will definitely be staying there on my next trip!!! Anamaria Y.

March 2011 Stay

4,0 sur mars 31, 2011

My son and I stayed at the Lion's Inn for five nights in March and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. While our room was small and shared a bath with one other room, it worked out fine for us and was well worth the reasonable cost. Our hosts were very kind and helpful and the pool and grounds were lovely. Being just a few block from Frenchmen Street, the location was great. We couldn't have asked for a better place.

loved it

4,2 sur mars 27, 2011

Lovely room, quiet garden, discussions with other guests around wine and cheese or breakfast, attentive service. Exactly what I needed.

Lion's Inn, March 2011

4,2 sur mars 19, 2011

What a gem of a place. Such a hospitable owner, and the nightly wine and cheese by the garden was a treat. Loved chatting with the various guests. The location is perfect -- short walk to the Quarter. Free bikes a major plus. We'll be back!

Enjoyed this quiet spot

3,4 sur mars 17, 2011

My friend and I enjoyed the location, the room, and the company. Easy healthy walk to the French Quarter. The pool (in a lovely tropical landscape) was too cold for swimming in March, but we enjoyed sitting around in the sun (clothing optional). The wine hour was very sociable. Don't expect a hot breakfast -- but cereal and fruit is fine since you will overeat during the rest of your time in NOLA!

Good Location in Rapidly Developing Fauborg Marigny District Adjacent to French Quarter

4,6 sur mars 14, 2011

Great rooms, service, pool and courtyard! Very nice, personable and helpful host. 5-10 minute walk from the quarter, but there's a lot of music and other happenings in the same neighborhood as the B & B.

Nice place to be!!!!

4,4 sur mars 08, 2011

i came for the 1st time to New Orléans and THE Lions inn was à great succes. The owner was realy frendly and the place awesome!!!!! THE breakfast was really good. the street where the Lions inn is situated close to the French quarter but real quiet in the evening. I had a lovely time. S.Schuiveling , Holland.

Lions Inn New Orleans

3,6 sur mars 06, 2011

It was great stay overall. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. It was in a great location.

Relaxing and Friendly

3,2 sur mars 03, 2011

This was my second stay at the Lions Inn. I find the owner and staff friendly and accommodating. The rooms are not huge but are comfortable and inviting. The bathrooms are not perfect but are big enough and are clean. The breakfast is do it yourself, not fancy, I usually go across the street to the cafe.

Mardi Gras

3,2 sur février 26, 2011

Beautiful hidden gem near the Quarter. Pool, Hot Tub and garden area were nicely maintained. Enjoyed meeting other guests and being close to Frenchmen's and the parade route.

Lions Inn B & B

3,8 sur février 23, 2011

Inexpensive, comfortable. An easy walk to the French Quarter. There are great restaurants in the neighborhood. The innkeeper was very gracious. This place is VERY dog friendly. We will probably stay there again.

3,2 sur février 10, 2011

very convenient because near of french quarter. Quiet and spaceful.

Loved it!

5 sur février 07, 2011

Staying at the Lions Inn was an absolute treat. It was an easy walk (ten minutes or so) to Decatur (maybe fifteen to Bourbon Street), a block away from a fabulous cafe, had on-street parking so we had no troubles there, and we very much liked Floyd McLamb, the innkeeper. We stayed in Room #4, which had a brand new memory foam mattress. The bed was fabulous for all kinds of reasons. It was a romantic and comfortable stay, and we didn't even get to use the pool or hot tub (the weather did not permit it).

A great place to stay

4,2 sur janvier 24, 2011

The Lion's Inn is a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly service, great location in the Marigny near Frenchman. They have a nice simple breakfast. There are bicycles to borrow. Excellent value.

Really enjoyed our stay

4,2 sur janvier 20, 2011

When my wife and I arrived, we were informed that a college group was also in the main house, and the innkeeper offered an apartment to us down the street to help preserve our privacy. This really set the tone for our stay, as the staff was nothing but courteous to us the entire time. The location is nice and quiet, and easy access to the French Quarter can be had if you don't mind a little walk. The rooms were clean and well-kempt, and the amenities were as advertised. I would recommend Lions Inn to anyone.

New Year's in New Orleans

3,2 sur janvier 04, 2011

My husband and I stayed here from Christmas Day until New Year's Day and were particularly impressed with a couple of unique touches: happy hour with wine, cheese, and crackers every day at 5 pm, giving us a chance to meet the other guests and to visit with our host; and the free use of bicycles to get around town. It's within walking distance of the French Quarter and even closer to Frenchmen Street. Ask Floyd and his neighbor Scottie for restaurant recommendations! We would go back to the Lion's Inn if we ever make it back to New Orleans.

Good value B&B

3,4 sur janvier 01, 2011

Lions Inn is within easy walking distance of Frenchman St, definitely the best part of the city. The accommodations weren't 5 star and the breakfast was sort of do-it-yourself, but Floyd was very friendly and a great host. The hot tub was also terrific.

Excellent Value, Kind Owner, A Rare Find!

4,6 sur décembre 16, 2010

Lion's Inn exceeded my expectations. 'Marginy' neighborhood is wonderful and yet a short five blocks to the French Quarter. Friendly, safe neighborhood with a host of cafe's & excellent music. The Inn is well maintained & quiet. The grounds are very nice. B&B's are not for everyone...but if you enjoy exceptional value this is your place. New Orleans is a 'walking & streetcar city' ... so all you do here is walk just a bit further. :) Could not have been happier with my stay. Will be back!

Enjoyed the stay

4,0 sur novembre 19, 2010

The room was nice and Ed looked after us. I appreciate his help in finding a grocery store nearby where I could get what I needed. The yard/pool area is beautiful. I look forward to coming back.

great stay

4,0 sur novembre 17, 2010

the hosts were very nice and helpful. room was very clean and accomodating (if i remember correctly i was in room A). the the backyard landscaping was even nicer than the pictures. would definitely stay there again.

Enjoyable Stay.

4,0 sur novembre 14, 2010

I recently stayed at Lions Inn and thoroughly enjoyed my time. The room was clean well-decorated; it was one of the cottage-type rooms adjacent to the main house. The neighborhood was quiet, and it was just a short walk to the streetcar. This was my first time staying at a B&B and I plan to stay again on a return trip to New Orleans.

The right way to experience New Orleans

5 sur novembre 07, 2010

It was my first time visiting this wonderful city of history, culture and music, and staying at Lions Inn just made it better. Marigny has that local feel if that's what you are looking for, and Lions Inn felt just like home in the warm and friendly neighborhood of Marigny. Floyd and Ed are kind and ready to help you anyway they can. I was running short of cash last day and Floyd even gave me two bucks for the cab driver's tip. Definitely a repeat, and absolutely recommended. Omid (Visiting from Toronto)

Lions Inn- a fun place to meet interesting people

3,4 sur septembre 29, 2010

Whie Lions Inn in New Orleans' marigny may not be the poshest B&B in the area it is a wonderful place to meet interesting, somewhat off the beaten path, people. We stayed there the week-end of 24-25 September and et a couple frm Florida, one from the UK, ne from France and a single woman from Seattle who was traveling arond the US. There were other guests we didn't get a chance to meet but those we did meet had fascinating stories and experiences to share. The generous wine and cheese hour ( a standard feature evry evening at Lions Inn) provided a great opportunity to get to know people and share stories. Lions Inn's private courtyard with in-ground pool, hot tub, garden and koii pond is the ideal spot to relax after a rough day of sightseing or partying. If you're looking for a place to Stay in New orleans that's not your run of the mill hotel or BB, give Floyd and his guests a try. You are not likely to be disappointed.

Relaxing, Welcoming Haven

4,8 sur septembre 26, 2010

I cannot say enough about the superior service, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful surroundings of the Lion's Inn! I hope to be back there soon! Floyd and Ed are GREAT in their kindness and helpful services!

All Around Excellence!!!!

4,8 sur août 14, 2010

Great place to stay for the dollar!! The rooms are good size and were VERY clean. Can't say enough about Floyd. When he saw us arrive with a laundry bag, he promptly took our laundry and returned it clean and folded!! We didn't even need to ask. The pool and hot tub were great, only a few women around and the pond and gardens were quite a sight. There is a great coffee house ablock away and an organic market 2 blocks away where all the locals shop and they treat you like a friend. We found a new place for our future visits to NOLA.

Eccentric Charming B&B

2,8 sur avril 22, 2009

The owner, Floyd, is a crusty, funny old codger who runs an eccentric and comfortable B&B in an artist's ghetto just outside the French quarter. He provided free bikes, which were a great way to see the city. Nearby cafes offered free wireless internet. Overall, a good deal -- we'd definitely come back!

Relaxing and cozy

4,4 sur avril 03, 2009

This is a very relaxed bed and breakfast. Floyd and Stuart treat you like one of their close friends. The kitchen is open for you to use through out the day. They even let us heat up our cold pizza. The room was nice. We stayed in Room C. It is a bit noisy since it is right over the dining room and kitchen but we thought it just added to the charm. The pool and hot tub are wonderful. It is an easy walk to the French Quarter and it's nice to come back to the quiet of the Lions Inn.

Great place to stay in NOLA!

5 sur juillet 30, 2008

I was traveling cross-country in a fairly large U-haul truck and the owners were very accommdating, letting us put the truck into their garage space (barely fit!). I was also suffering a gout attack in my knee when we arrived, and they were incredibly gracious and helped in any way they could. The room was wonderful, the service was outstanding and I HIGHLY recommend the Lion's Inn - my then-partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there.

5 sur mai 03, 2008

The Lions Inn is an A+!! Stuart and Floyd are wonderful innkeepers. I feel like I am at home. I enjoy riding their bike to the quarter, relaxing in the pool or hot tub naked!!

Wonderful Hosts

4,8 sur juin 22, 2007

Stuart and Floyd are wonderful hosts. They treated us like family. When my wife became ill they brought home made meals to our room and offered to call their own Dr. I cannot say enough good things about our stay at this B&B. The rooms are wonderful, clean and with a touch of old world N.O. Treat yourself and your wife and stay here when in N.O. For us there is no place else to stay!
