  • Urad Dal ( Black Lentils)
  • Red Kidney Beans
  • Ginger and Garlic Paste
  • Salt
  • Tomato Puree
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • White Butter
  • Cream
  • Water


  1. Preparation: Pick & Wash in Lentils in Running Water and Soak Overnight.
  2. Cooking : Put the Drained Lentils in a Heavy Bottomed Pot, add salt in water, bring to boil,cover & simmer until the Lentils are Cooked and Two Thirds of the Liquid has Evaporated.
  3. Then Add Cream,stir and Cook for 10 Minutes.
  4. Adjust the Seasoning.
  5. Remove to a Bowl,Garnish with the Remaining Butter and Serve with Tandoori Roti ( Indian Bread).
  6. Mash the Lentils Lightly against the Sides with a wooden spoon. Add Ginger , Garlic Pastes, Tomato Puree, Red Chillies & a Knob of Butter,Stir & Cook for 20 Minutes.
