Service was outstanding along with great food. The rooms were very clean. We were comfortable. The courtyard was beautiful with the pond and flowers in bloom. However, the cottage that one of our sons stayed in was next to an outside patio with people talking loud late at night. It was difficult for our grandchildren to get to sleep. The other 3 rooms we had were exceptional and beautiful. Definitely would love to return.

Such a wonderful stay. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the Forsyth Park Inns staff. They really made our stay special. The appetizers at night while sitting on the porch was the perfect way to end a beautiful day in a beautiful city. We will definitely return to the Forsyth Park Inn.

My sister, mother (90) and I were driving from N.Y to my home in Florida. We decided to make the trip a wonderful memory since it is rare we are all together. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Savanna and our stay at the Forsyth Park Inn. The Inn was beautiful and the staff (especially Dwayne) could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you for helping us create a wonderful memory with our Mom.

We had never been to Savannah and found this beautiful bed and breakfast. First the location is perfect. Second the staff could not have been any nicer. They explained the area and we immediately felt at home. We stayed in the cottage which was comfy and has everything g we could have wanted. Our only complaint, I wish we could have stayed longer. We didn't get to enjoy the wine and cheese reception or the coffee and sweets. We did have the breakfast which was delicious. We are already planning our next trip back.

Three of us shared a room quite comfortably. Service was outstanding, and the building was simply filled with old world charm. Highly recommend, however, if you do visit during the summer months, be mindful of the extreme humidity. Air conditioned rooms were quite lovely, but breakfast on the porch could be sticky, especially when the sun hits it. Overall, we would definitely stay here over and over again.

My husband and I absolutely loved our last-minute, mid-week stay at this beautiful, relaxing historic home located just steps away from Forsyth Park. We originally planned to stay on River Street, but we are glad we cancelled and opted for the more laid-back, relaxing atmosphere a few miles away from downtown. The home is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the cottage away from the main house which was charming. We'd love to return with our children. We uber'd it during our stay so parking our car there the entire time was the best thing we did. Plan to return soon with our children. The park was relaxing and the homes in the surrounding neighborhood are equally beautiful. Do stay! Dwayne our host was quite the gentleman and as friendly as can be. Our host for breakfast, Jerry, was too sweet. Thank you for such a memorable stay. This was our first B&B experience as a couple and we'll definitely be returning!

Forsyth Park Inn was a great choice for our visit to Savannah, right across from the famous Forsyth Park. Room was beautiful & spacious, amenities top notch. The staff was very friendly, extremely helpful too. Each day they posted suggestions of things to do. Started with a nice breakfast, cocktails in the evening and simple dessert & coffee later on. Only down side, single pane windows meant you hear outside noise, we were on street side, so it was noisy. It's about 1 mile to the main section of shops & dining as well.

Relaxing and enjoying breakfast with a wonderful view of Forsyth Park became the second highlight of our stay. Duane was a gem, sharing with us places to avoid and must sees all based on our interests. We loved our stay at Forsyth Park Inn, it was perfectly situated within walking distance to everything, and it has the most gorgeous courtyard to relax in. The only room left available to book was #11, which is downstairs in the garden level. It was an adorable room and was very clean, but it has a bath only and no stand-up shower option...though this reminded me of Paris, and the clawfoot tub is lovely, it's inconvenient and I would have preferred a shower option. Still, the Inn is extremely charming and includes a great breakfast each morning. Our stay was made even better by Jerry, the fantastic concierge who is friendly, welcoming, full of personality and has a great sense of humor. We really enjoyed meeting him and would return without question on our next vacation to Savannah.

Lovely setting right across from the park. Beautiful view! Loved the rocking chairs on the porch & could have sat there for hours. Lovely room. Comfortable beds. My only complaints: Couldn't figure out how to operate the jetted tub & no instructions, and my room mate asked for extra blankets , which were not delivered. Other that that, everything was excellent! Would have given all 5s if these had not been factors.

We have stayed at the FPI, a number of times and we will always continue, unless something drastic changes. To us it is like coming home the staff are friendly, Welcoming and Warm. The rooms are great, are they perfect no this building is in the historic district, if your a young person who does not appreciate creaky floors, doors, and being able to hear traffic, then this place is not for you. If you are looking for a great service experience, being able to walk anywhere in town, once you park on Friday and never have to get in your car again then this is the place for you. Forsyth Park Square right across the street, Farmers Market every Saturday 1-9 (Not huge but quaint), dining just about every direction when you walk out the front door. If you have a special event coming up, let the staff know, they will do their best to make sure the event is very special. Russ is a pleasure, to speak with, he is the new owner and dare I say "almost" as good as Laurie! (lol, J/K, he is awesome!) Look forward to moving forward and continuing to enjoy Forsyth Park Inn for many years. Rick & Martha

Great location: right across from Forsyth Park. Convenient to restaurants; several good places in easy walking distance. Downtown/waterfront is approx a mile. On a road that can be busy at times, but great view of the park from the veranda. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Note that rooms 10 and 11 are downstairs and are accessed via some steep stairs - not a problem for us but could be for some people. I would definitely stay here again.

Our trip to Savannah was enhanced by the welcome Dwayne gave us when we arrived at the Inn. He offered us a larger room than the one we originally reserved, which we gladly accepted. He unhesitatingly answered questions and gave us loads of helpful information during our stay. We had some nice chats with Andrea and Maria who also provided suggestions of things to see, do and fabulous places to eat. In addition the breakfasts, cooked by Andrea, were delicious especially those that included the yogurt parfait topped with honey! The Inn is in walking distance to some of the loveliest streets in historic Savannah. An added pleasure was the ability to sit on the veranda, look out at the park and have some late afternoon and evening drinks and sweets. The mini pecan pies were heavenly! We would definitely come back.
3,6 sur novembre 10, 2015
Friendly staff and inviting with breakfast, coffee and evening wine, dessert. The building needs improvements and detail work on the interior, i.e. paint, flooring, windows; bathrooms are dated and not attractive. Street Noise (cars) is a special problem as windows are not updated glass and sills not well fitted. We love the location across from the Park.
3,6 sur octobre 18, 2015
This is a lovely building with beautiful woodwork. While our room did indeed face a beautiful park as advertised, it should be noted that there is a very busy street between the inn and the park, and that the park was actually rather noisy with weddings into the night and maintenance activity (blowers, mowers) early in the morning, in addition to the traffic traveling about 30-40 mph directly below our windows. I was tired from traveling so I managed to sleep through it, but guests should be aware of this as it was rather unexpected. One of the concierges was very helpful with planning meals, the other not so much with tours, so that we did better and more efficiently using the internet on our own. Concierges were also extremely busy with putting out food and helping multiple guests so that the inn seemed short-staffed. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Savannah's a great city to visit.

It was our 1st time to Savannah and we could have not picked a more perfect spot. Classic southern savannah style and hospitality, individually designed rooms to suit everyone, caring and welcoming staff that go out of their way to ensure that your individual needs are met, in particular the manager who is a fountain of Savannah knowledge! There is nothing that he cannot or will not sort for you, and nothing ever seems like you are asking him too much - he makes the stay at the Forsyth what it is - a charming, classic southern B&B of the highest standard. Would stay no where else in Savannah. Thank-you for lovely stay

Beautiful B&B in a great location! We stayed in the cottage which was perfect for our needs since we brought along our fur baby! We loved the fact we could let her explore around the courtyard and she didn't have to be on a leash. However, it would have been nice if she could have sat with us on the front porch - we often brought our appetizers in the evening back to our cottage for that reason. The Cottage itself was perfect for us; the Day Bed worked our perfectly and was incredibly comfortable. The kitchen suited our needs and was very convenient! The only negative (and I hesitate to call it a negative) was the lack of natural light in the cottage. I LOVE opening all windows and letting in the sunlight or watching storms and it's location didn't allow for a lot of natural light. That being said it is a historical building so it was perfectly understandable! The food was delicious; especially this melon yogurt parfait on the last day and the banana nut bread was perfect! I'm not a huge breakfast person so I personally prefer not having a 'seating time' and just coming when I get hungry - feels a bit structured this way but again - just a personal preference. The social hour in the evening was wonderful as were the desserts at night. The hotel staff was amazing - Dwayne and Maria are WONDERFUL!!! Very candid about what touristy options you should or should not do - incredibly helpful. We were told that the deposit on our credit card would be reimbursed at check out and we could pay with our gift card but I guess that wasn't the case - this was a different girl though so maybe just a miscommunication. We will just save our gift card for another mini vaca. Overall wonderful spot and we will definitely be going back; just not in the heat of the summer! :)

Only one negative thing. On our first day, during the afternoon wine and snack, my wife and I enjoyed a glass of wine and wanted to have a second glass. With still a half left in the pne hour snack time, the wine was gone. I asked the front desk if we could have a second glass. She said she could not get more wine because the B&B could not be responsible for some guests over drinking. We have stayed at some of the finest B&Bs in the U.S. and have never heard the host denigrate the guests in this manner. I suggest you get to the event right on time before all the guzzlers leave you dry. Her statement left us embarrassed.

My wife and I arrived in Savannah for two nights following a corporate event in Greensboro, GA where we stayed at a Ritz Carlton resort. Our stay at the Forsyth Park Inn in Savannah was in complete contrast to our Ritz stay. Here we were greeted by Dwayne on a personal level who was very courteous and provided us lots of local recommendations for both dining and tours in town. The small homely style of this Inn provided us peace and quiet and the breakfast we enjoyed on the verandah was lovely. Room #8 was basic but clean and in keeping with the property full of character. The unique feature of this room was the outdoor private patio we were able to enjoy overlooking the courtyard. Located across the street from the park afforded me the opportunity to go on my morning run around the park before breakfast, as well as enjoy the farmers market on Saturday morning. When we arrived we parked outside the hotel in the street, and in fact didn't move the car until we left town 2 days later. The Inn is located a few minutes walk from all the sights around town and provided us the chance to enjoy the sights on foot. We took a trolley tour on Friday and Dwayne set us up to be picked up by shuttle and taken to the headquarters in town to pick up the bus. Very enjoyable. Would definitely stay again. Great location and service, not so much modern facilities but then again Savannah is more about the history and character than modern facilities. For us it was perfect!

I traveled to Savannah with my parents for our first trip to the South from California, and I must say staying at the Forsyth Inn was my favorite part of the trip. We stayed in rooms 10 and 11 in the lower level. Situated in a beautiful location across from Forsyth Park, we had our hot breakfast each morning on the patio while admiring the Spanish Moss in the trees and watching the joggers and families across the street. It was a little bit noisy with traffic, but besides that very serene. The location was so beautiful we always made it back for Sangria and a snack at 5. (A perfect opportunity to rest a bit from the day's walking before heading out to dinner). I had originally wondered if the inn would be too far from the main sites of interest, but we really loved walking through the neighborhood itself and could take the free local shuttle when needed (it picks up a short walk away). Dwayne was a gem, helping us with recommendations and making us feel welcomed and very well taken care of. One of the women in charge of the food even gave great recommendations for vegetarian-friendly restaurants in town. We had an unusual incident with a taxi driver, (definitely a one-off situation) and Allen picked us up without hesitation while Dwayne managed all interactions with the cab company, and even reimbursed us directly on top of getting the cab company to do the same. The people here were great. I'm already missing my claw-toothed bathtub and evening tea. We will certainly come back here on our next visit to Savannah.

I stayed in room 1. Very large and comfortable. The jetted tub was a nice treat after a long day walking. The service was exceptional most of the time. A young girl worked at the front desk on 2 days and directed me to a restaurant which was terrible. Her idea of upscale was not the same as mine. The breakfast was good, fresh and hot but pretty ordinary; pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs & fresh fruit. The late night cookies and infused water was a nice touch. I would suggest they add some camomile or other relaxing tea to the choices. The view from the front porch was spectacular. I happened to be there when the park was in full bloom. The parking was pretty easy and free on the street. Fairly easy walk to downtown and even easier access to the free public bus.

We had been talking about coming to Savannah for years, and we finally made it! We stayed in room 11, which has a separate entrance from the back of the house. Our neighbors across the hall had a dog which would bark when we approached our room - I'm assuming it was when the owners were out - but it really didn't affect our stay much, other than one night when the squeaky toy woke me up. Not the inn's fault at all. The room has lots of different levels between the sitting area, bedroom, and bathroom, so if you have issues with that you should be aware. The bathroom is HUGE, and the soaking tub is quite relaxing even without bubbles. Relaxing on the huge front porch is a must. The view of Forsyth Park across the street is breathtaking, especially with the first blooms of the azaleas in full force! The breakfasts, happy hours, and desserts were quite tasty - portions were comfortable...you weren't hungry but you weren't stuffed either. Weekday staff was friendly, but the weekend staff was on a whole other level. We got the story of the inn, 'local' recommendations for dining, and just a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the gentleman manning the house on Saturday and Sunday. We will be back, and would definitely stay at Forsyth Park Inn again.

This is the most beautiful B&B. Everyone was so nice, and helpful. The food was amazing. I would advise that if you are a light sleeper, room 1 which is on the Forsyth Park side, has a lot of traffic noise at night. But the room was large with many floor to ceiling windows, and just lovely.

Everyone that assisted with our stay was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. The home was clean and comfortable. Our room was also clean and very quiet. The breakfasts were delicious and the happy hour and tea / snacks that were provided were an extra bonus. This was our first time staying at any B&B. We wanted to do something different for our anniversary. I must say it is a great experience. The Forsyth is an excellent property right across from Forsyth Park. It was nice sitting on the veranda and having breakfast, coffee, or drinks in the afternoon and just watching the people and the park. It's a great Victorian house with a lot of character that makes you feel like you are really experiencing what Savannah is all about. We stayed in room 6 since the better, park view rooms on the second floor were taken. It was nice enough and they had a stay one night, get the second night half price, which made it about the same as staying at the Embassy Suites or other comparable places. Make sure you check the web site or ask about the specials they have going on during your stay and you could save quite a bit. It's walking distance to a lot of the interesting architecture and squares, and just a short taxi drive to city market and the river area (walking is also doable if you have the time and energy). Breakfast was always good every morning with some pretty good recipes. The staff was very accommodating and will do whatever it takes to meet your needs. I'll stay there again when traveling to Savannah. P.S. I didn't know this until we were about to check out, but supposedly the place is haunted by a friendly teenage girl. I'm not a big believer in ghosts, but a few strange things happened while we were there like lamps flickering and my wife felt something like lace brushing against her legs and feet a couple of times without having any prior knowledge of the haunting. Pretty cool.

My daughter and I just returned from a fabulous stay at the Forshtye Park Inn. We stayed in the cottage which was a beautifully decorated space set behind the Inn. There is a spectacular garden and sitting area that leads to it. The cottage was amazingly comfortable and quiet. The staff at the Inn were the absolute best!! They answered every question and gave us valuable recommendations, for tours, restaurants and shopping. Homemade breakfast on the front porch was priceless. Forsyth Park Inn is A+++++. We will definitely return. Dave D.

This was my first bed & breakfast experience. Everybody there was so nice and very helpful. The food was fantastic. Although I mostly rocked on the front porch, sipped ice tea and read, I couldn't have found a more perfect vacation... If you're looking for Southern Hospitality, you will find it at Forsythe Park Inn Bed & Breakfast !!! Robin in WV

Location was perfect. Directly across the street from beautiful Forsyth Park. Easy walk to busier parts of town and then back to peace and quiet. Staff at front desk was extremely helpful. Breakfast was disappointing compared to other inns I've stayed at. Would stay again and try the cottage where I could bring my dog.

I have stayed in several Bed and Breakfasts over the years. When I was being charged $240.00 per night, I expected a much bigger wow factor. The room was bare without any wall hangings and had an unpleasant bleach odor. The breakfasts were adequate but not spectacular. It was very noisy and difficult to sleep. However, aside from that, our innkeeper Jerry, was a definite bright spot with his dining and touring suggestions. The location was the best part, with its proximity to Forsyth Park. Would I return? I probably will not.

I have always wanted to stay at a B&B. Participating in the Color Run made me want to have a base close to Forsyth Park and Forsyth Park Inn hit a homerun!!! The concierges were very friendly and helpful. I did not get to sample the food due to my schedule but my friend fell madly in love with the French Toast. Even though I did not make breakfast plans due to the Color Run, they were very helpful in making sure I had something to eat afterwards. I really thought I would not get through in the breakfast time frame, so did not place an order for breakfast. I must say, the bacon was yummy!! Our room overlooked the courtyard and we were witness to two weddings. I could not have asked for better. Many thank you's to Forsyth Park Inn for making my weekend great.

We stayed in Room #3 over the weekend, May 10-13. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left, our entire visit was perfection. The house staff are friendly, sociable, and provided great recommendations and conversation. The room was perfect for four of us who met in Savannah from NYC and Atlanta for a birthday celebration. The meals were delicious. And we were delighted to spend a significant portion of our trip sitting on the veranda, playing cards and catch up with each other. Thank you, everyone at the Forsyth Park Inn, for giving us a perfect vacation!

We just returned from a long weekend in Savannah! Our stay at the Forsyth Park Inn was fantastic. The innkeeper and staff did all they could to make this short break memorable. My only issue was that I felt the window treatments and bedding were a bit dated. (It no way impacted my stay!) I can strongly recommend this inn!

The Inn is lovely. The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful and friendly. they really made you feel welcome. Breakfast was five star quality. The rooms in the main house are beautiful. The veranda is the perfect spot for people watching. We stayed in the cottage and we loved the privacy. While the cottage has all the amenities; we thought a remodel would be very nice and could bring in more revenue for the Inn owners.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The place has a magical old world charm that left a lasting impression on us. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The only tough part about our experience with Forsyth Park Inn came several days after our stay. Two nights in the least expensive room ($185) came out to $472.10 CND after the tip, taxes and exchange. That being said, we really did have a wonderful time at Forsyth and would definitely return. Perhaps a one night stay would better suit our travel budget.

This home is the loveliest b&b I've stayed in. Not only is the home itself very nice, but the Inn keeper and her staff are fabulous! A charming b&b, in a beautiful location. Breakfast was excellent; our room was pleasant, and quiet. I would stay again. One minor quibble: an alarm was left set, which woke us earlier than planned; not ideal on a weekend getaway. Nevertheless, the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings more than made up for this minor issue.

Stayed at this B&B as we didn't want to stay in an impersonal hotel. Although our room was small it had everything we wanted and had the added advantage of our own outside balcony with comfortable chairs and a table. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to stay in an establishment where they provide their guests with the little extras to make your stay a memorable one.
4,8 sur août 28, 2013
We had a great stay and hope to return again soon! The house predates insulation and soundproofing. If you get a room on the ground floor, expect some overhead noise. The ground floor rooms have a private entrance from the garden.
4,4 sur août 27, 2013
We had a wonderful stay recently at the Forsyth Park Inn. This was a "blind" selection as we had never been to Savannah before and had competing recommendations. Being from the Left Coast we were unsure of where to stay, but we made the right choice. If you are in Savannah you need to stay in one of the B & B's. It's all about the houses and staying in a same-o motel/hotel does not impart the lifestyle and history of this fascinating location. Our room was A 16' ceilinged home away from home. Plumbing needs a little work, but hey, it's an OLD house! Bed was very comfy. We had breakfasts on the veranda, watching walkers, joggers and pet owners perform their daily constitutionals - the perfect way to start the day. Servings were generous and tasty. Service was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Sharing our finds and observations with the other guests was frosting on the cake. We had a great time - you will too if you stay here. The Forsyth Park Inn is fabulous! The Inn itself is beautiful, but the people are all so eager to help you in anyway possible. My future daughter-in-law's wedding gown was wrinkled from being packed, so the owner of the Inn took it, had it steamed, and got it back in plenty of time for the wedding. When we checked out the clerk offered to print off our plane boarding passes for us which was a tremendous help at the airport. Anything we asked for during our stay was done for us cheerfully. I would recommend the Forsyth Park Inn to anyone going to Savannah.
5 sur juin 28, 2013
The staff were wonderful from the moment we checked in until we left. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had all our needs met. Food was flavorful and plentiful. A lovely B&B where I definitely would stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the Forsyth Park Inn on the recommendation of American friends. We loved Savannah as a whole, but the experience was better for the choice of accommodation. The personal service, cleanliness of the rooms (and hotel in general) and the wonderful breakfasts on the patio made the Forsyth experience one to remember. We will visit Savannah again and will choose the Forsyth again and as such would recommend it to anybody.

We visited this Bed and Breakfast during the 3rd weekend in June. The service provided was phenomenal and we were offered to stay in an upgraded room once we arrived. The food was great and we were very happy to find a Bed and Breakfast that offered breakfast, hors d'oeuvre in the early evening and dessert later and through the night. The weather was perfect during the stay and Savannah was a very nice area to visit. A place that we'd recommend to eat for dinner is the Toucan Cafe in Savannah.

This was our first stay at a B&B and we loved it! Here are our top 3 favorites about the Forsyth Park Inn: 1) The perfect (and convenient) location across from Forsyth Park. 2) Sitting and relaxing and enjoying the lovely view from the veranda with a glass of wine. 3) The food! 4) The beautiful rooms - we LOVED ours! 5) The exquisite courtyard. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Oh, did I say top '3'? I couldn't pick only 3 things as favorites!!!
4,4 sur juin 02, 2013
My room was small which I wanted and had lots of charm. It had been well kept up. I enjoyed its simple ammenities and having to work some to situate things to my liking; I found this actually easier than if I were in a Hilton. Old World Charm is like that. It takes you back. It's part of Old Savannah which is why I chose the Forsythe Inn in the first place! I was raised in such a home and found myself reminiscing over fond memories of high beds and shears. I especially liked how I got out on the balcony. You only have to experience it! And the beautiful spanish mossed live oak was to one side, so the wonderful night sky was overhead! I sat out there often at night (I might add that the balcony is very private) just looking at the clouds and feeling the cool breeze. The room is quiet! And, you know, I met the nicest guests at breakfast who were all in good moods from their stay. I got up before sunrise and photographed the turning on of the fountain in the park accross the street. AND I felt safe! Of course I cannot forget the consierge servers. They had at their fingertips places to go, numbers, directions, all the personal touches that make a consierge a true consierge, including pleasant open "Savannah-esque" personalities (which is another reason I paid extra to come to an established B & B instead of just going down to where all the "action" is, which BTW is only a pleasant stroll away). I got the pleasure to get to know something about all 4 of those who served me during my stay. AND they are not obtrusive, either which I find wanting me to go back, which I will.

You will pay more, but you will get what you pay for - a beautiful Inn, very clean, in a great location. The Staff is professional but also friendly and funny and a playful but gentle, personable way. The porch offers great views of Forsyth Park and the famous fountain, as well as the seemingly hundreds of joggers and dog-walkers. The morning breakfast can be noisy because of rush hour traffic noise and the "every single morning" city paid leaf blowing crew (Savannah will not tolerate a single leaf on her walkways it seems)! Walk just a block towards the river and you are in Monterey Square, one of many such small squares surrounded by beautiful historic homes (Mercer House among them). I walked every square, and it seemed to me that even those homes not well maintained exude an air of "elegant decay". In the evening, the staff puts out hors d'oeuvres, drinks like sweet tea or home made sangria, etc. The treats are always amazing and worthy of a fine dining establishment (no plates of store bought cookies here)! Don't miss the small gated garden in back. Someone was delivering baggies full of new Koi when we were there. A wonderful place for a laid back break from the hustle and bustle.
5 sur mai 18, 2013
We had a fabulous time! Dwayne and Daphney were extremely helpful and friendly and had great advice for places to go and things to see! The B&B is beautiful and gracious with an old-timey veranda with flowering plants and secret garden.....Sweet tea or Sangria in the early evenings with hors d'oeuvres looking out on Forsyth Park.....what could be better?! We will be back next year...if not sooner!

Being on Forsyth Park was lovely. Pretty view from our room (#6). The street is busy, so there was traffic noise, but it got quiet during the night. We slept well. Rooms on the back of the inn were quiet and had nice views. The staff was very helpful and cordial. We walked everywhere we wanted to go and liked walking through the series of parks that are the hallmark of Savannah. The Savannah Trolley Tour (white trollies) was a very good introduction to the city. The tour of the First Aftican Baptist Church was excellent. Lunch at Mrs. Wilke's was good fun, delicious, and worth the wait.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The good sized rooms were nicely furnished. The snacks at 6pm and dessert at 8:30pm were an unexpected bonus. The courtyard garden was charming. The location next to Forsyth Park was a real plus. We were close enough to walk everywhere, but the neighborhood was quiet.

For my wedding I had planned on using the room to get ready then going across the street for the ceremony. There was concern that the park would be too loud with the traffic so we decided to do the ceremony in the courtyard. We check no one was in the court yard at the time so it was perfect!!! All nine people fit comfortably. I was able to take lots of wedding pictures in and around the Inn without disturbing other guest or having to pay to close areas off. Probably the most economical Savannah elopement! The staff at Forsyth Park are extremely helpful and nice! They do offer an elopement package however it was out of my price range and more than I needed for my small group.

Forsyth Park Inn is the perfect location if you are wanting to visit the Historic District. Stayed for one night. Dwayne from the staff was a big help for us to book multiple activities into a short time frame. He was efficient and quick to offer suggestions and referrals on rest. (Old Pink House so spectacular), ghost tour (old trolley tour was awesome), and referred us to free DOT shuttle. Only minor complaint was that room was loud at night due to trains, cars etc. ( thin windows and much out of their control). We really had an amazing visit-can't wait to visit you again!

An outstanding property, made even more special by the great attention to detail by staff. We so enjoyed Jerry's stories and the way he made us feel so welcome and at home here for our first visit to Savannah. The Innkeeper and her staff are all so welcoming and genuinely seem to enjoy having us (and our two dogs) stay with them. As the surprise getaway destination for my 20th anniversary, I selected the Forsyth Park Inn B&B as our destination based on their location in the historic district of Savannah on one of the beautiful parks in the area, as well as their availability: other options that I explored in the area were already booked up when I was making my reservations. The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating of my wife's dietary restrictions and prepared meals to meet her needs (soft foods only) quite well. I can honestly say that I have never had better blueberry pancakes than I had at breakfast Sunday morning - no out of the box mix here, as everything was fresh and flavorful. While the location was several blocks from the waterfront, it was an easy walk to get to the many dining and shopping options in the area, and the pedal cabs and horse drawn carriages in the area, of which we took advantage of both, gave great local transportation options when our feet got tired. I believe that, while not an inexpensive option, the exceptional staff and beautiful settings provided substantial value. While not our first B&B stay, we most often stay at hotels, and greatly appreciated the B&B lifestyle for this special occasion.

This was the first time my husband and I had ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. Forsyth Park Inn was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Waking up to the smell of breakfast cooking and the surrealism of being taken back in time was wonderful. It reminded me of when I was a little girl and waking up to my grandma's breakfast. The rooms are very large and spacious as well as gorgeous! You are in walking distance of everything. We never moved our car from early Friday until Sunday afternoon. We absolutely LOVED Forsyth Park Inn and will definitely be staying there again when visiting the beautiful city of Savannah.

Most b&b don't allow for little ones (understandably with all the beautiful antiques and decor) So it was a wonderful option at Forsyth Park Inn to be able to stay in the cottage with our son! We just spent two glorious days at the Forsyth Park Inn...room #5. From the cordial greeting to the early evening wine and treats...and later desserts and coffees...we were well taken care of. the concierge, Gerry, had all the information we needed and also lots of stories to share. the location is perfect for walking in every direction and hopping on the DOT. We will recommend to all our pet owning friends that this is also a place to stay. Don't bother to stay anywhere else in Savannah. How could I forget to mention the most delicious breakfast ever , enjoyed on the fabulous VERANDA.

The Forsyth Park Bed and Breakfast was the best choice as a base for our stay in Savannah. Each day started with a delicious breakfast on the porch accompanied by a view of the Forsyth Park Fountain. We walked to dining, shopping and historic homes with no need for a car the first two days. Everything else was a short drive away. Each afternoon we returned to hor dourves and drinks on the porch before heading out for fine dining or a ghost tour in the evening. Each night we returned to the comfort of the inn and enjoyed desserts and coffee while sitting in the porch rockers before retiring to a lovely room and comfortable bed. The room had a private bath and a balcony overlooking the garden which made the stay all that more enjoyable. During our stay, the staff was informative and attentive. Forsyth Park in is just far enough away from downtown Savannah to quiet the hustle and bustle, but close enough to take advantage of everything Savannah has to offer. I highly recommend it.

The minute I laid my eyes upon the Forsyth Park Inn, I knew my stay would be most enjoyable. When my husband and I walked in we were greeted by a friendly young man. He was very welcoming. We had questions about Savannah, first time visitors, and he was very knowledgeable. He arranged for a shuttle to pick us up and take us to the trolley tour of the city. What history, Savannah encompasses. The trolley driver was a wonderful host and gave us an outstandling narrative of historical Savannah. I highly recommend the Forsyth Park Inn and we'll be visiting again soon!

This was our first stop on our 'southern ' tour and we arrived here after a 16 hour journey. We were truly delighted at the accomodations, and the welcome and efficiency of staff who gave good advice about nearby eating places and sightseeing tips. The Forsyth Inn was well placed for good walking through Savannah's squares and historic district. We just loved the Forsyth Inn, would like to go back and would recommend it to anyone interested in 'southern' charm and hospitality. It well met the description given on the website and would encourage us to use BedandBreakfast.com again.

Although this place was a bit expensive it was worth every penny. The service and food was outstanding. Our room was amazing. The only down side was also a positive thing. We were distanced from downtown making it necessary to get a pedicab or car service. The up side was that the neighborhood was quiet at night. I would recommend bringing a bike. As an experienced B&B patron, i highly recommend a stay at the Forsyth Park Inn!

Just like the pictures - picture perfect! Stayed in the adorbale Room 8, which included a balcony. Sitting on the porch having breakfast while overlooking Forsyth Park was like living in a dream. Enjoyed the quiet setting away from the river, though close enough to walk or take the free trolley with a stop just across the park. Dwayne will help you plan you entire trip - has great insider knowledge of the best places to meet your tastes having grown up just around the corner.

Beautiful location across from Forsyth Park & easy walking distance to restaurants & shopping. Staff was friendly, helpful & very responsive. Breakfast was nice & front porch is great. Wine would be nice for social hour, but apparently alcohol permit cost is prohibitive. Anyway, beds were comfortable & restful. If you are a light sleeper, however, be sure to request a room upstairs & away from the main road as there is street traffic all night long. We would enjoy revisiting.

This was such an amazing BnB...I had no idea when I booked the rooms that it actually was a BnB... Didn't read...lol The food was excellent the service was very good. and the first two days we had Jerry as our concierge and he was terrific, gave us great map lots of places to eat suggested the tour, and was funny and personable each time we saw him. He gets high points from me because he made me feel like I was visiting friends not strangers. I would stay again any time.

We stay at this lovely bed and breakfast in the heart of old Savannah every year on our way to vacation in Florida with the family. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to stay in an old southern plantation style house similar to anything you've seen in the movies, then this is the place to stay. The house has such old world charm with all the modern conveniences. There's a beautiful park directly across the street that at night with the lamps on looks magical and enchanting. The owners and the staff here are beyond accommodating and always friendly. It's so refreshing to see the same faces year after year and to be remembered. My husband and I are so taken with Savannah and this Inn that our dream is to some day move here. That says a lot about our experience.

The wedding service in the courtyard was profwessional, warm and friendly, and handled without a hitch. I rate it outstanding. The people at the Inn did everything to make our stay an experience to remember.

Our only complaint was hearing the traffic all night on the street. My husband and I are both very light sleepers and we had trouble sleeping with the noises from the cars. Our room was on the ground level next to the street. Other than that, we absolutely loved staying there.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to get away from it all. Within walking distance to amazing restaurants, away from all the touristy stuff (but close enough if that's your thing). We stayed in room #5 and it was so romantic. The breakfast was delicious, the service was fantastic and the location great (bed was comfy, too and coffee in the garden was a nice treat). Can you tell I had a nice time?

I learned of a package deal for the Inn through LivingSocial.com. When I called the weekend packages were sold out. I explained to the staff that I was trying to plan a surprise trip for my fiancée’s 4oth birthday. He kindly let me know of other options they had available which worked out perfectly & I made our reservation. Email confirmations quickly followed along with information about the Inn & things to do around the city. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff. The concierge on duty took time to show us a map of the city, highlight areas of interest & provide some background on various things to do & see while in town. We arrived on a Friday & stayed through Sunday. During the whole stay everyone was friendly & helpful. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was great. What my fiancée' did not know was that I was also planning to propose to her that weekend. In visiting with the staff during our stay they of course congratulated us & let us know they could have done things to make it special had they known. We assured them we appreciated the thought but the weekend was going quite well & we were very happy. We were in Savannah the last week of September 2011. When checking out we talked to the concierge about coming back for St. Patrick’s Day, a major holiday for Savannah. Rooms were already booking & as expected book quickly for that day. We let him know we'd think it over & call them if we decided to book. Once home we checked the calendar to find that St. Patty's day falls on a Sat. in 2012. The more we thought about it the more we wanted to go back, the holiday falling on a Sat. is perfect & we could not find any reason not to return for another visit. Within the week I made reservations on line for a Fri. to Sun. stay & our neighbor is coming with us to join the fun.

We have come to love Savannah and try to get there every year. This is our second time to stay at the Forsyth Park Inn and we love the fact that we can bring our dogs and stay in the Cottage. The Cottage is roomy and perfect for someone with a pet. Forsyth Park is right across the street and we love to spend time there. Jerry is always helpful and enjoyable to talk with. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else! D&D from Nashville, TN

The time we spent at the Forsyth Park Inn was very special. The inn is lovely with very attentive and helpful concierges. The cocktail hour and the evenings coffee and desserts were delicious, but the breakfast was the highlight of the day. Wonderful gourmet food with fresh herbs out of their garden. Overlooking Forsyth Park, it is an ideal location for walking around, biking or skating as well as just a slow wander around the park. I would highly recommend the Forsyth Park Inn.

Room was clean and comfortable. Took forever for the tub to fill up though will little water pressure (minor). Service was good. The staff was friendly but they are not there 24 hours a day and would not be in until around 8 AM. I would have liked someone to be at the front desk by 6 AM at least. It was reasonably priced considering the location to the park and the prices of downtown chain hotels. The food was great but my only complaint was that you had to reserve your time for breakfast and I would have preferred to be able to eat anytime without breakfast hours without reservations. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Inn to others.

Warm Savannah day arriving at “The Forsyth Park Inn” spot on 10.30am, knowing check-in wasn’t until 4.30pm, taking a chance that they may just store our luggage safely, that they did no hesitations at all, they even assisting us with information on the best way to explore the city. The whole event was just what I imagined it to be. By 5pm we had returned not wanting to miss anything not even afternoon’s beverages of ice tea/orange juice and wine. Not forgetting the hors d’oeuvres home-made spring rolls to an assortment of cheese/crackers.Feeling very relaxed socking up all the Southern charm this romantic Inn had to offer, it was like a vortex which kept us there for the rest of the evening, mesmerized by a scene not experience before, very content staying on the veranda in the rocking chairs which overlook Savannahs lavish Forsyth Park, Spanish Moss hanging, the scent of the blooming flowers, birds singing and dancing way past sundown perfect place to be. Later evening we were served home-made double choc cupcakes with the most amazing frosting, selection of tea/decaf coffee, which topped the evening off nicely. Room 8, we like the fact that it had a large balcony, overlooking the lovely gardens below. Our room was quaint, well decorated we enjoyed all its historical glory. The bed was a little on the smaller side when compared to the other rooms, however the bed its self was very comfortable and the linen was soft. Morning breakfast was a real treat, served by Miss Rosa, just loved her southern charm what an experience for an Aussie guest. Breakfast consisted of the best homemade granola ever eaten followed by fluffy blueberry pancakes/ scramble eggs/sausages plus a bowl of fresh fruit, tea/coffee. Top way to start the day, a scrumptious breakfast on this amazing veranda overlooking Forsyth Park. Icing on top of the cake moment, The Inn taker (Lori) and 3 lovely staff members assisted us to our car with our heavy luggage all farewelling us with a hug and kiss.

The inn is in a perfect location in Savannah, right on the beautiful park. It was easy to walk all over town from there. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We were served beverages upon our arrival, and at about 8:00 pm, dessert was served in the parlor, which were both pleasant surprises, and very good. Breakfast on the veranda the next morning was also very delicious and beautifully presented--a delightful start to the day! The staff was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable about things to see and do in town, and accommodating to our needs. The Forsyth Park Inn was the best place we stayed on our trip to Savannah, Beaufort and Charleston, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates the charm and grace of a historic home. ( It has quite an interesting history, too!)

My daughter and I spent the weekend at the Forsyth Park Inn and from the momment we arrived until we departed, it was a wonderful experience. What a beautiful old home -- we loved having our afternoon treats on the wonderful front porch -- accessing porch via the classic window opening was a treat - like stepping back in time! I could have stayed out there all evening watching the comings and goings in Forsyth Park, except there is too much to do in Savannah to sit for very long! The breakfast was delighful and our bed was comfy and wecoming. The private back garden was like an oasis ready to be enjoyed. We will definitely return!

I have stayed at alot of bed and breakfast, several in Savannah, and I can honestly say this is by far the best I have ever stayed at. The room was beautiful and the view of Forsyth Park was incrediable. The food was out of this world. I do not beleive there is a better staff at any bed & breakfast that could beat the service the staff at this inn provides. From the time I walked in the door till my departure everyone of them were polite, friendly and willing to assist me with directions to different locations or to just answer any questions I had about the inn or Savannah (Thanks). Do yourself a favor and stay at this inn if your going to Savannah... You will not be sorry.

Room was fine. Breakfast was fine. Location was convenient, but there was a good bit of traffic noise. The staff was "iffy". A couple of the front desk people seemed to regard us as a necessary evil disturbing their routines, despite the fact that all we asked for was directions-no special requests. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The cat, Sadie Mae, was terrific.

My financee and I decided at the last minute to elope, rather than plan a wedding. I called Forsyth Park Inn and they took care of all of the details for our elopment, with flare and style! Because it was was last minute, there was very little time to get the cake and flowers ordered and book the minister, but they did it! Our room was perfect and the ceremony was absolutely beautiful. All of the staff were so helpful and treated us like royalty. The location is perfect, sitting right on the park. I will recommend Forsyth Park Inn to anyone going to Savannah.

I was totally happy with my time at the Forsyth Park Inn. The location is wonderful...you have a beautiful view of the park from the veranda, where breakfast is served each morning. Jerry, one of the concierges, is a wonderful source of knowledge about which tours to take and what to see in a limited-time trip, such as mine was. The tours that I took all picked me up right at the Inn, which was great. The breakfasts were all delicious...a different one each morning. There was sweet tea and ice water available all day, with wine and snacks served in the afternoon, and sweets served at night. The only surprise I had that I was not expecting was the 15" computer monitor that served as the TV in my room...that was a little hard to get used to. The housekeeping staff is great...impeccable service. I highly recommend this Inn.

The Forsyth Park Inn is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. The location is perfect, right next to the beautiful Forsyth Park. It is exactly a mile around and great for a morning run! The location however, is quiet and relaxing. Close to everything in the historic district (within walking distance!), yet without the busy tourist traffic when you want to sit for an afternoon tea. Their evening cocktail hour is a nice touch. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and unique. Breakfasts are superb and the staff does an amazing job of catering to your diet needs. Inn Keepers have great stories of the city. Truly an amazing experience. Will definitely stay here again!

All of the public aspects of Forsyth Park Inn were great -- the veranda, the private garden, the sitting room, the helpful concierge(s). And its location cannot be beat. However, for the price paid, there were some surprising oversights with respect to the individual room. First, a pet peeve of mine, only ONE wastebasket, especially annoying in a what is essentially a suite. Extreme lack of hangers -- we were only there for a weekend and there were not enough hangers for both of us to hang up our few articles of clothing. Also, there should be skirt and trouser hangers, not just a few pathetic looking rejects from old dry cleaning. TV reception was crummy -- since a TV is not "period" anyway, at least get a decent, up-to-date flat screen with cable if you are going to have one. There was a desk/chair in the room, but nothing to go with it -- a small pad of paper would have been nice. Our room fronted on Abercorn (and therefore the park, which is lovely) but the street was quite noisy at night and double-glazed windows would have been appreciated. (My travelling companion uses earplugs at night and was bothered by the noise; a heads up by the inn would be a less expensive fix.) Lastly -- while the bed was comfortable, the pillows and bedding more than adequate, it was tall -- I am short, and unfortunately no longer so young, and it was quite a scramble to get into bed. In other B&Bs where I have stayed with similarly high beds there has always been a footstool placed conveniently by the bed to help getting in and out. Otherwise, a pleasant experience and I would stay at the Forsyth Park Inn again BUT they did not look in my loyalty: if I am going to pay that price, I will look around at other hotels, mainly to the factors mentioned above.

My family stays at this Inn every year in February on our way to Florida. This Inn has so much history and is incredibly beautiful. It's a magical place that we look forward to visiting every year. The rooms are clean, and the furniture and decorations make you feel like you've stepped back in time. The service is impeccable, and the southern hospitality is charming. If you want to feel like you've stepped back in time to a simpler southern way of life, do yourself a favor and stay at the Forsyth Park Inn.

We so enjoyed our two different stays at Forsyth Park Inn this past month. The greatest thing about the Inn is that it is pet friendly and our little darling Sadie could join us on our trip. Our room was so spacious and just lovely. The back door to the courtyard was great for those late night and early morning trips out with the dog. The food was so yummy and the price was just perfect. February rates were half off so who could complain about this? The staff was just so accommodating and so helpful. Great suggestions on places to eat and so helpful in getting us on the trolley tour. We just enjoyed our time at the Inn and would recommend it to everyone.

Had a great weekend stay at this bed and breakfast. The room was very large, the view was pretty and peaceful but the bed was super comfortable. We ate in front of the fireplace in the downstairs parlor and the breakfast was delicious. The view as the sun set from the front porch to the park was truly inspiring and we can't say enough about the staff. They were courteous, helpful and very entertaining. The ghost story lent a mystery to our trip when our alarm clock went off at midnight...we set it for 8 am. Definitely worth a return for us!

What can I say. This place was perfect. Savannah is a beautiful town, with some colorful areas of course. The Forsyth Park Inn is in the perfect location. Completely ideal. Staying at the Forsyth Inn enhanced our brief stay in Savannah. The Inn excudes history and charm, their courtyard is a little slice of heaven. Being able to walk across the street to a beautiful park and later that evening to a remarkable dinner at 700 Drayton was very romantic. Coming home to our Inn with dessert and coffee set up in the parlor made us dream that we lived in beautiful Savannah in this great mansion for just a bit.

We stayed here over the Fourth of July weekend and had a wonderful time. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. On-street parking was free and always plentiful, unlike some places. Since guests received key to front door, we were not required to return by a set time. On arrival we chose a time slot for breakfast (8, 9, or 10am) and had our own small table on the porch, which was nice for private conversations. The bed and bedding we had was extremely comfortable, and the toiletry supplied with the room was of quality as well, such that we didn't have to resort to the ones we brought. The house and the room were both well air conditioned (a must in the Summer!). Best of all, the Inn was very quiet despite being at a street corner (both streets had low traffic). It was also easy to find from the I-16 off-ramp (a right and a left turn). The neighborhood between the off-ramp and the Inn is run-down, but the Inn is far enough away that we felt safe both day and night. While downtown tourist traps were really too far to walk from the inn, we had no problem driving each day, since parking wasn't a problem downtown either with a bit of turning and looking. Its location across from the park lends to a relaxed quiet atmosphere. We recommend Forsyth Park Inn to couples who are looking for a classy and quiet place to stay and see what Savannah might have been like 100 years ago.

We stayed in room 1. This is located on the first floor, is closest to the check-in room, and faces the main road. We could hear every car driving by. We could also hear people talking in the parlor and people checking in. Not relaxing at all. We weren't shown the common areas nor the garden. The breakfast was very small. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. However, the room was beautiful, and the view of Forsyth Park was fantastic.

We stayed at this Inn this past weekend. We were just far enough from everything to ensure good exercise on our trip to and from the inn! Upon check in the night gentleman gave us a map and explained all the details about our stay and recommended local establishments. He was VERY friendly. We stayed in room 1 for two nights. The room was large and beautiful! The only thing I wasn't fond of was the porch being next to our room. But this was not enough of an issue to be anything more than a minor annoyance. We did have a bit of breakfast noise the first morning because it was such a delightful day outside and people ate on the porch outside our window. I would avoid this room if you are not planning on being up early as we were. The breakfast was good, we didn't eat alot of it because we planned to eat at many different places throughout the day. I do have to make a note of the desserts left out at night. The first night was cookies that tasted like they were made from scratch! I wanted to eat them all! The second night there was some yummy looking cake but I was too stuffed from dinner to get any. The last night was the BEST little cheesecake bites! I need to know where they got them they were so good! We did miss the wine and cheese hour all three nights. But we did see them setting up as we left each night and many people were in the Parlor gathering for it. Our second room was 9. It's a bit smaller than 1 but the bath is easily 3 times as big and so is the whirlpool tub! You actually step down into the bathroom in this room. It is quite beautiful. After 3 days and 4 nights in this Inn, I would heartily recommend it to anyone on a vacation thats looking for a great place to stay, beautiful rooms, and nice people. The price was perfect and the rooms only made us more curious as to what the rest of the Inn looked like. We will have to pick different rooms next time! A big thank you to the Inn and their staff for making our stay easy and memorable.

I came to this inn years ago and enjoyed myself so thoroughly! I was going to be in Savannah and couldn't wait to see this inn again. On the positive side, the room was lovely and comfortable. On the negative side, the staff was not "with it". I was expecting an equally wonderful time as the first time as I was there and that was far from what I did receive. When it came time for Happy Hour, the staff informed us that there was a failed recipe and so we got freezer quiches. Okay, so we were lucky to get freezer quiches right? It was just a little shocking. They advertise a selection of desserts laid out at night which was stupendous years ago but happened to be tiny brownie bites that had a peculiar taste to them. The breakfast was anything I could make, I was not wowed. After returning back to the inn before bedtime I was told that my bed wasn't turned down and a robe was not placed in my room due to the fact that other things were going on and I was basically just handed my robe in the hall. Uhmmm, okay then! So, the inn seems to have gone down but I would still recommend it for its lovely rooms and overall nice experience. It is located on Forsyth Park and has a lovely view. Just don't expect much from the staff or food ... you can buy your own quiches from the store!

My wife and I stayed here on our wedding night and for 3 subsequent nights. The staff was very helpful. We arrived and requested a private carriage on no notice and it was done. The room was clean and wonderful. The breakfasts were great as were the evening desserts and wine. I would and will return to this Inn.

We stayed at the Inn for 5 days. The Inn is absolutely beautiful, but it is the warm, welcoming staff that makes the stay remarkable. We felt cared for and pampered which is what a good Inn is all about. The home cooked breakfasts are spectacular, as are the wine, appetizers, coffee and deserts which are all served daily in the parlor or the porch. It was the vacation that I wished would never end.

the inn as well as the inn keepers are exceptional. you can feel the old south in every room of the inn. my husband and myself have stayed 4 times at forsyth park inn and each time our stay was great. the staff is very helpful in arranging excursions and dinner reservations. we highly recommend this inn if you want to enjoy the past...in the old south.

This is where me and my wife went on our honeymoon. It was nice and some of the employees went out of their way to serve us. Some were a little more difficult... Other than that, it was a great stay. Watch out for the cat though; it likes to say hey.

The house is grand. Gourmet breakfasts and very comfortable rooms - perfect location - Ken and I have visited twice. Whenever in Savannah - we'll try to stay there!
