Victorian Farmouse Getaway

4,0 sur avril 25, 2016

We spent a peaceful, relaxing weekend in this beautifully renovated Victorian farmhouse. The gardens are lovely. We went wine tasting and bird watching at the lake. A weekend to remember.

Réponse du propriétaire
We are happy that your weekend provided you time to relax as well as explore. The recent rains have expanded the bloom in the garden. Hope you'll bring a good book and give yourself time to read under the trees next time.

Idyllic Farmhouse

4,0 sur avril 13, 2016

Elegant, beautifully restored Victorian farmhouse set in lush, lovely gardens. Heritage trees and old-fashioned roses. Breakfasts were delicious, even though I was a challenge because I'm allergic to eggs. The most serene, relaxing weekend my husband and I have had in a very long time. We intend to go back.

Réponse du propriétaire
We hope you'll return to relax and rejuvenate. Our grandson (also allergic to eggs) has sent us some of his new favorite breakfast recipes to share. Thank you for posting a review.

A Gem in Lockeford, CA

5 sur mai 24, 2015

We chose the Inn because we found the chain hotel Stockton offerings boring. The Inn is definitely not boring. The original woodwork, the lush gardens and the extraordinary breakfasts are all special. The Inn is listed on the national historic register and comes with a fascinating family story

Thank you for finding us and enjoying your stay. Love your review! Come again as there is more California history to discover around here.

A delightful experience all around!

Our stay was met with pleasantries in several ways: a warm and friendly reception, a room that was inviting, beautiful decorated, and comfortable, a relaxing garden to stroll through, and breakfasts that were wonderfully prepared and graciously presented! We look forward to another stay with the hosts and at the Inn at the Locke.

Réponse du propriétaire

Fantastic Valentine's weekend

5 sur février 18, 2015

We had a wonderful stay in the Inn at Locke House. The house itself is beautiful, and the hosts were friendly, warm and made us feel completely at home. And the sheets are the softest we've ever felt. Seriously. Go just for the sheets. The Lodi area was a revelation to us - we've lived in Northern California our whole lives but have never spent any time in this region. The wineries were excellent, the town charming - good shops, good restaurants - just very fun. And the Inn was the perfect base for exploring. Close to town, but far enough away to feel like you are in the country. We whole heartedly recommend the Inn for a great get-away.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We think this area is also an undiscovered gem. Did you know that Stage 2 of the AMGEN Tour de California will end in Lodi May 11? We've got a great Amgen weekend special on our website! Look forward to seeing you again.

Chambres & Prix

This light-filled front room with views of gardens from every window is the largest of the Main House rooms. Its inviting color palette is ivory, taupe and rose. Rest in the impressive king, four poster, pine bed warmed by the ivory enamel fireplace. A roomy Stickley style rocking chair, desk, table and chairs provide you place to relax, read, and write. The Moorish influence bathroom - outside the room - has a custom designed corner shower . Once used by the doctor's wife Delia as her bed-sitting room, Abington is a favorite for longer stays. Except for the four-poster bed, all furniture is original to the house and reflects 1800 - 1920 designs. The Bridgewater has views of the front garden. From the queen antique Jenny Lind bed you can contemplate the giant Canary Island pine set against the sky. In a slate blue and pewter color palette, this room was once used as a library and dressing room. A fireplace, cozy armchair and rocker complete your comfort. Your private bathroom in airy blues, white and pewter is outside the room. The key to your bedroom is the key to your private bathroom! While you soak in the antique clawfoot tub, enjoy sky and tree top views. Tub also has telephone and overhead shower. This room is a favorite of our business guests and guests seeking a "snuggly" retreat. If traveling with a child under the age of 12 or for a single night reservation, please call 209-727-5715 to check availability.

In a soft yellow and delicate floral pattern, the Berkshire is the coziest of the Main House rooms. The creamy white wrought iron headboard is reminiscent of the Locke daughters' beds originally in this room. Look in the armoire for their name tags. The fireplace corner with Delia Locke's charming rocking chair provides views of the bluff gardens and trees. Its ensuite bathroom in yellows and greens has a shower for two and views of the Sierra foothills. Guests say it has the charm of a country cottage room. If traveling with a child under the age of 12 or for a single night reservation, please call 209-727-5715 to check availability.

This is the most Victorian of the Main House rooms with its antique, ornate furnishings. Both bedroom and ensuite bathroom are decorated in variations of green. With table and chairs next to the green marble fireplace, guests have a place to read, write, play board games or view lacy, evergreen tree tops from the windows. Soak in the roomy antique clawfoot tub with telephone and overhead shower. Considered by the Locke family to be their best bedroom, many of their guests enjoyed staying in this room. The Langdon has furnishings original to the room. Our guests enjoy the old-fashioned romance of this room. If traveling with a child under the age of 12 or for a single night reservation, please call 209-727-5715 to check availability.

Water Tower Suite

With its private entrance and deck at the far end of the inn, the three-level Water Tower Suite is the most secluded and romantic of the inn's guest rooms. The bed-sitting room is a palette of dairy whites set against the warmth of antique brick walls. Rest in a queen, wrought iron, canopy bed surrounded by gossamer curtains. Sit before the fireplace or choose the cozy window seat to read and garden-gaze. Take three steps up into the rustic black and white tile bathroom with its classic clawfoot tub/shower on second level of brick tower. Climb the spiral staircase to the top of the tower to read, write and enjoy spectacular views - binoculars provided. Sunrise and sunset are glorious. An eclectic collection of Danish and farmhouse furnishings give the suite an open, romantic, warm atmosphere. Enjoy satellite television and stereo. The suite is a far cry from its former life as tank house, farm office and storage area. If traveling with a child under the age of 12 or for a single night reservation, please call 209-727-5715 to check availability.
