No words can describe this beautiful place in the middle of France. The housekeepers, Rein and Ben, are very nice and helpfull. Always available if you have questions, or just for a small talk. The rooms (and the "gite" also) are totally renovated by themselves. Ben is really an artist. He made a fantastic house and B&B with high quality materials. Very comfortable bed, clean room, fresh towels, ... And a shower with a view over the land ! Amazing! Breakfast is included and it is more than tasty. It's delicious. Home-made bread, sometimes pancakes, home-made confiture/marmelade, regional products , cereals, ... More than you can eat. The table d'hotes (dinner) are even better! Rein is really an outstanding chef. She uses biological products and lots of vegetables, from their own garden or the farmer in the neighbourhood. Pure and tasteful, like food should be. A Michelin Star wouldn't be silly, she's worth it. On site, you can relax in the garden, on the terras, or dive into the swimmingpool. We enjoyed also the sauna. Nearby there are lovely towns, which are known as the most beautiful villages of France. A must see! The B&B is surrounded by nature, and is ideal for hiking or mountainbiking. If you look for a place to stay where it's quiet and peaceful, where you feel at home from the first minute, where the dog welcomes you at the beginning of the street, where you eat every day a fantastic meal, where you feel like you've been reborn after a quiet night, ... A famous Dutch expression says literally: "Living like a God in France" ( living on Easy Street), and that's is really appropriate for this B&B. Heaven on earth, just the way it is. We will come back, that's for sure !!!
I was lucky enough to spend 3 nights "Chez Dominique" and what a treat!! I loved it so much I already know I'l be there next summer on my way south! Her B&B has such a unique character and reveals so much authenticity with the stone house dating from the late 19th century and its adorable little garden hidden away (perfect for my morning book reading!). Her rooms all have a personal taste with modern facilities (TV and wifi) and my bed was surprisingly comfortable! And Villefranche, the village, is also very quaint. I was there in July an enjoyed the outdoors pool in the village as well as discovered the surrounding landscapes (I felt in a painting!). And the food...so delicious! Fresh baguette and croissants outside in the courtyard in the morning and a full meal made with local "terroir" products at night... myFrench dream come true! And as often, a stay becomes a true experience thanks to people. Dominique is a lovely French woman, a professional hospitable and very kind woman who gave us lots of tips on the surroundings and local events that we would never have found out by ourselves. Be sure to ask her about the local "brocantes" (flee markets and garage sales), museums, cheese-shops and farms, and even fireworks! Thank you so much Dominique for our delightful stay!
