  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 beaten egg to brush over scones

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine first 4 ingredients.
  3. Cut in the butter with two forks or pastry cutter. Drizzle in the cream and mix with the fork.
  4. Turn out on floured board and knead in the fruit. Roll out to about 3/4 inch thick, cut into shapes.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle top with sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown
